About listing

This is a new, beautifully renovated charming one double bedroom quiet ground floor home with all it’s original features intact. It has a bright, elegant reception room with dining table for 6, large T.V. and WiFi. There is a large sunny separate fully equipped kitchen. Both reception room and kitchen have sliding folding oak doors fully opening up the rooms onto the sunny private patio garden where you can have a candlelit supper on a warm evening. The location of this property makes the flat quite unique: It is in a very up-market area of London, just off the fabulously expensive and renowned Cheyne Walk (runs along the river) and literally minutes from the legendary Kings Road and some of the best shops, cafes, bars and pubs. If you enjoy walking, there are some great walks on both sides of the river and the beautiful Battersea Park is a 10 minute walk away. In the summer it is great fun ambling around watching groups playing softball and having picnics or using the Park restaurant and enjoying concerts. There is a docking station with Barclays (Boris) bikes to hire just around the corner from the flat. There are very many docking stations around London where you can drop the bikes off once you are tired! The bus service on the Kings Road takes you everywhere you will want to go and it is such a fun way of seeing London from the top deck! But if you prefer taxis, The Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum are a 10-minute taxi ride away, while London's major tourist attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Tower of London and exclusive Knightsbridge/Sloane avenue shopping are 15 minutes from the flat by taxi. The nearby (5 minutes) Imperial Wharf Station has direct trains to Clapham Junction (three minutes) and Westfield Shopping Centre (six minutes). The links from Clapham Junction take you directly to Victoria (Buckingham Palace) in five minutes and 45 minutes to Windsor Castle. Imperial Wharf also connects in one stop/five mins to West Brompton which gives access via the District line to the whole City. Transport to and from the airports is very easy. HEATHROW: A 6 minute bus (C3) or a taxi to Earls Court tube station and then a direct tube to Heathrow taking approx 38 minutes. GATWICK: A 9 minute taxi ride to Victoria train station and then the Gatwick express which runs every 15 minutes and takes 30 minutes. Just around the corner from the flat is the Chelsea Harbour Hotel and Marina. It has a gym, swimming pool and Spa which you can use for a charge per day or for a month (worth it if you stay for more than 4 days!). It also has an elegant bar/restaurant where you can sit on the balcony overlooking the boats in the Marina. Next to the hotel is the very well known Chelsea Harbour Design Centre with all it's fabulous home design/fabric shops + coffee/snack bars. Two minutes away are two antique/furniture auction houses. One of them, Lots Road Auction House, is very well known in London and has an auction every Sunday with viewings Wednesday evening through till Sunday. A minute's walk from the flat is the famous 606 jazz club where you can have supper or a drink whilst listening to an eclectic selection of musicians. If you would like to play golf, there is a Public Course in the beautiful surroundings of Richmond Park. An 18 hole and 9 hole full size courses. Weekends should be booked in advance. There is also a course at Cobham in Surrey called the Silvermere Golf and Leisure Ltd. It is approx 17 miles by car or by train from Imperial Wharf/Clapham Junction. This apartment is in the perfect location for famous international cultural and sporting events such as: • St Patrick's Day • Virgin Money London Marathon • RHS Chelsea Flower Show • Royal Ascot • FA Cup Final 2016 • Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships • Hampton Court Palace Flower Show • Notting Hill Carnival • Totally Thames Festival • New Year's Eve Fireworks

The apartment was perfect for our London visit. Had everything we needed including a nice sunny courtyard. Our host Ann Louise was very helpful and ensured we were familiar with all aspects of the apartment, transport and shopping. Nearby Chelsea Ram pub is a must as well as the Thames walks. Boris bikes everywhere as well as a good bus service. Thoroughly enjoyed our time and recommend this apartment. 31 August 2014 - 11:21:18

Ann Louise provided a marvelous place to stay while in the Chelsea area of London. The flat was extremely comfortable with a marvelous king size bed and wonderfully plush living area sofa combination. Every amenity was provided and we particularly enjoyed the quiet neighborhood in which her apartment is located. Yet, it was wonderfully situated so that we were no more than a five minute walk from buses that would take us to Earls Court tube station or Westminster Abbey or Piccadilly Circus. There were also two fine grocery stores about the same distance away. A two minute walk took us to the banks of the Thames. We especially enjoyed the little patio area just off the kitchen, although the beautiful weather we enjoyed for the week was also a factor. Ann Louise was particularly helpful with any questions we had, before we left the States and while we were at her flat. A truly wonderful vacation experience. Highly recommend. 24 September 2014 - 10:48:27

This flat has been beautifully modernized and decorated. It is near all the shops and restaurants of Chelsea, with several convenient food markets. The king bed and it's lovely linens are a joy, and the garden is a wonderful place to sit in warm weather. But this flat did have a few problems. During our stay the refrigerator was not functioning well (the door did not close fully so food did not stay cold). The access to the bedroom is a bit odd as it is a step down, a short hall and then another step up. Access to the bathroom is another step down from the hall. The bathroom is tiny. This flat would not be suitable for persons of size or for those with mobility issues. There is no door to the bedroom, so if your partner is watching TV in the living room noise can be a problem. Even with these drawbacks, I would not hesitate to recommend this flat as long as you are aware of these quirks. 09 October 2014 - 19:37:38

This is a beautiful apartment with great facilities. It was clean, exceptionally well appointed and very comfortable. Ann Louise could not have been more helpful and was available for suggestions or advice throughout our stay should it have been required. The flat is in a great area - lots on hand in terms of shops, bars and restaurants. It is a little way to the nearest tube station but for us this wasn't a problem. We will definitely be back in the future. 04 November 2014 - 20:49:14

This is an ideal location to stay when in London as it is safe, quiet yet close to everything. The Chelsea neighbourhood is quite affluent. The flat is immaculate fully equipped with a dishwasher, clothes washer, dryer, and TV in the bedroom. We particularly enjoyed the private patio with this flat. The owner Anne was very attentive and professional during our booking and stay. 28 May 2015 - 07:38:10

The flat was beautiful, light and airy. Located in a quite street, about 5 mins walk to Kings Rd. A great place to stay in London. We can also recommend The Chelsea Ram, a lovely pub a few minutes away. Adrian. Australia 02 July 2015 - 10:05:55

Pleasant, light and airy first floor flat in Chelsea neighborhood, of modest brick row houses, walking distance to buses and the London train system and a few nice local pubs and restaurants. Near the Thames, but unfortunately heavy construction makes it difficult to access for now. Initial "hiccup" on arrival, but resolved satisfactorily with friendly owner who lives in another country. Reasonably well equipped and tastefully furnished, but you need to be a basketball player or use a step-stool (provided) to access the cupboards in the kitchen and the washer-dryer. The bathroom has all of the necessities in a very tiny space, but the rest of the flat is quite nice. Private little outdoor dining area (pictured) is a plus in good weather. Get an Oyster Card to get around the city from this location. 21 October 2015 - 00:57:46

After an amazing Rick Steves' London tour we wanted to stay in London and wind down to revisit spots we thought we needed more time to explore or take a day trip outside of London. This was the perfect place to do all that! This flat was conveniently located to multiple bus stops, the Thames, a food co-op (open to the public), and a neighborhood park. The kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room areas had wonderful, cozy and functional touches that mades us feel welcome and at home immediately. The kitchen was well appointed with appropriate utensils and extras (spices, oils, tea, coffee, etc.) that made it easy to prepare meals there w/ groceries from the food co-op. The living room had sliding windows/walls (they lock!) that would have been nice to use in warmer weather and would have created a lovely indoor/outdoor space. The bedroom was spacious and very quiet despite facing the street as the building is on a quiet street. One point worth noting, as another reviewer mentioned, is the bathroom. It IS small, but well designed; the toilet and sink are a little tight, but the shower had no issue accommodating my my 6'2" husband. We spent the least amount of time in that room, and didn't really affect our experience. Ann Louise also had some great information about the area and was very attentive to our needs (super easy to communicate w/ if we had questions before and during our stay). My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would not hesitate to stay here again the next time we are in London. Further, I would absolutely recommend this property to a friend. 19 April 2016 - 04:01:56

The flat is in a lovely area, close to the river and underground station. The bed was very comfortable and the property in a very quiet area so great for sleeping. Also spotless! We loved the elegant furnishings - was lovely to come home to after being out and about all day. We would definitely love to stay again on our next trip to London. 13 May 2017 - 10:24:00

The flat is stylish and comfortable, with good quality fuurniture and fittings. It is also very light and sunny, with large folding glass doors from the living room and kitchen into the small private patio. It is situated on a quiet street close to the river. Good restaurants and pubs are nearby. 05 July 2017 - 22:20:00

We had such a great stay in London, partly because of this property. It is very nicely furnished and had everything we needed and more! The outside courtyard was the perfect place to drink our morning tea and coffee - we were lucky to have warm sunny weather for our few days there. Very walkable to transportation and Kings Road. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay at again next time we're in London! 18 June 2016 - 14:57:00

Everything on the listing was just as expected. No surprises. The appartment had everything we needed. It is very cute. We were lucky to have great weather and had breakfast everyday with the doors all open on the patio. What a nice way to start the day. As I said, the appartment was perfect but, the equally important part was that the owner and contact people were just great during the whole aspect of the renting and staying there. They were extremely accommodating. They had great communication and customer service. We would highly recommend renting to others and for sure would stay there again ourselves. 05 September 2016 - 15:10:00

My stay here was exactly as expected. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, but close (walking or transit) to the hustle and bustle of the city. The flat is comfortable and clean. It's small, but so functional. I was the only one there, but it would easily accommodate two people. My favorite part was the deck. I spent every chance I could out there. Communication with this host was great. If you're looking for something that will give you a bit of downtime while in the city, I highly recommend this flat. 24 April 2017 - 12:32:00

It was everything we wanted. Great location, cosy, everything works, elegant, tiny but sunny patio. We found the responses to a few little issues (we locked the keys in the flat) to bequick and friendly. We hope to come back soon. 03 August 2016 - 15:34:00

The flat is well located close to public transport, Shopping and restaurants. With this it is very quiet area and safe to walk around. It is easy to feel like a local. There is a hospital close by for emergency - if you ever need one. unfortunately we did need this. The booking process was good and any concerns we had while we were there were sorted very quickly. It is comfortable and lovely when the sun comes out. Could have stayed longer. would definitely go back. 01 July 2016 - 07:27:00

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here The flat was well located for all our needs with the Kings Road and it's buses within a few minutes walk and a great local pub the Chelsea Ram less than 5 minutes away. There is also secure parking outside the zone available in Edith Grove. The next few comments are suggestions not criticisms We would have liked bed side tables in the bedrooms, the mugs provided were a little to large and smaller cups and saucers would have been ideal We did struggle with the size of the bathroom and the closing of the fridge door to ensure no frosting. The light in the fridge should be renewed and some of the kitchen doors were difficult to secure. There were no scissors in the kitchen. We stress these are minor items for us but the property is offered at the top of the rental scale. Finally and this was a big problem for us the folding doors to the patio and outside eating/relaxing are we did not use due to the screaming and shouting of two children close by.we could not open the doors due to the racket which went on sometimes until 11 at night.Children do of course make noise that we accept but this was a disgrace and no attempt was made by the parents to take control This must be a terrible problem for the residents particularly the nice lady living in the flat above Beware any future tenants ! 07 August 2017 - 15:53:00

the apartment was cozy, but the bathroom was really almost claustrophobic, literally the size of two phone booths. Difficult to reach items on the upper shelves of the kitchen. The nearest tube station was more than a mile away. The neighborhood was quiet, but not very convenient to grocery stores, etc. I'm afraid we expected more for the price we paid. 20 June 2017 - 14:21:00

This place is small but cozy and cute. Perfect for a couple (but probably not more than two adults), and a great location from which to explore London. We loved the fact that it was so quiet, both during the day and all night, and that it was within easy walking distance to all sorts of public transportation (river taxi, tube, hop-on hop-off bus tours, etc). The only possible drawbacks are that there is no in-house thermostat, so the heat has to be adjusted by the owner upon request, and, if you are a big guy like me, the bathroom is truly tiny. But actually, once you get used to it, the smallness sort of adds to the intimate feel. Ann and her crew are great hosts, and we very much enjoyed our stay. We will be in London again next year and will definitely be looking to stay here again. 20 September 2017 - 19:14:00

We were pleasantly surprised by the property. The pictures were an accurate representation of what we hoped it would be. The small patio was a joy to relax in on a sunny day and the design makes very efficient use of a small space. We used public transportation for the entirety of our stay and found it to be quite convenient.(approximately 45 minutes to Leicester Square by bus/tube). The cabinet doors require some work as some do not stay closed, but that was a minor complaint. 19 October 2017 - 17:49:00

Impeccably designed and impeccably tidy little flat - utterly serene and enchanting. A true gem of a getaway - and the patio is beyond lovely. A bit of a walk from the closest tube station and the bathroom is of the scale of a ship's facilities - two very minor drawbacks for an otherwise perfect spot. Quiet, soothing, comfortable and beautiful. Sure to be a real treat for most travelers. 14 July 2015 - 01:00:43
