It's a comfy little flat, reasonably priced, and close to public transportation. Our little family of four enjoyed our one week stay there. Jennifer was accommodating in allowing us to check in a little before the scheduled time. In addition, she was always there to answer questions when we emailed her. A few suggestions I would add are: place a trash bin in each room, provide a larger drying rack (or dryer would be even better), place blow dryer in an open space (we didn't find it until the day we left because it was in a drawer), and update wifi name and password on PDF file (but Jennifer was prompt in responding when we needed her help). Overall, those minor suggestions are merely that. Not having those amenities did not impede on the way we felt about the flat. We truly enjoyed our stay. Thank you!! 24 June 2017 - 14:41:00

We spent 2 1/2 weeks in this flat in July 2016, and enjoyed our time. The location is great...a short-ish walk from Houses of Parliament, Imperial War Museum, Westminster Abbey and London Eye. Within 30 minutes' walk is much more, including Leicester Square. There are four key bus routes that come within 3 blocks of the flat that take you many key places. With a 15 minute walk, you can get to a couple tube stops and at least one train station. The flat itself is smaller than the pictures make it look; the furnishings are a bit "tired" and the area rugs could use a cleaning. The kitchen is quite functional, but small (one cook at a time, please!). The washing machine works great, but is small enough that you'll be doing a load of clothes every 2-3 days. Clothes hang dry. The bigger bed is only the size of a "double" (as we would call it in the USA). It is not a queen or king. As we had only one kid with us, we gave her the double bed and we pushed the two single beds together for ourselves - this gave us more room to sleep than the "double" and in a bigger room. While those beds are comfortable, their frames move and creak a fair amount. We also heard a lot of sounds from the flat upstairs - shuffling along the floor, doors opening, marbles being dropped, etc. There is one bathroom, but it is helpfully split into two pieces - Toilet vs. Shower/Sink. This allowed one person to shower while another used the toilet (and washed up in the kitchen sink). The one key piece of advice I'd provide the Jennifer (owner): Install a "grab bar" in the tub, as it can be quite perilous to step in and out of the tub when taking a shower (the tub is narrow and, like many in Europe, raised up above the floor). I nearly slipped and fell several times. That said, once in the shower, it was nice pressure and nice temperature. Jennifer was quite helpful before our arrival, with good information on the neighborhood, buses, grocery stores, etc. The one time we had a question for her during the visit, she was quite responsive. Overall, we'd stay here again...knowing that we are paying less than other spots w/in the same general distance to stuff. It is important, though, to moderate your expectations about the size and quality of the unit. 23 July 2016 - 22:03:00

The flat is easy to find and very close to great bus routes. Also an easy walk to many attractions including London Eye and Houses of Parliament. The flat is very comfy and is just as the photos show (apart from a different sofa which is a bit uncomfortable). We were there with 2 young children and it suited us really well. 29 August 2016 - 19:34:00

This was a great apartment for us. Easy to get to and from by bus or underground. We had 5 people and we fitted in nicely as the couch could be converted to a bed. The apartment had all the facilities we needed for cooking and washing. There was some noise at times due to multi-apartment building but this did not worry us. I would fully recommend this to others who want a comfortable apartment. Jennifer provided lots of information on where to go, what we see and general details of the area. 11 October 2016 - 07:58:02

This was our first time staying at this apartment but will not be our last. Like many people ,we ourselves looked at the reviews before we travelled and please let me assure any of you who maybe a little skeptical or worried about staying here DONT its was without doubt the best apartment ,facilities, and location. The place was excellent. There is a kitchen, a fridge and you can cook just everything. There was even a microwave and generally the house was very well equipped. Just one of the many great thing's about this apartment is the location of this apartment close to public transport and tube station. The apartment were clean and towels can be change whenever you needed them to be. The owner is very helpful and we really had a gorgeous time there. We definitely recommend this house to everyone. Very impressed with this apartment. Had that homely feel and lots of little homely touches, we went over new year and the were some lovely xmas decorations up. A meal of pasta, sauce and had been left for us when we arrived , including a bottle of wine, which didn't last long!, The cupboards had odd bits of food too and the fridge. Overall the apartment gave the feeling like you were actually living in someones home, there was shampoo, magazines, dvds, a computer (though we could not work that). Location was excellent took us around 5/10 mins to walk to the eye. Bit unsure re the noise coming from the other apts, but it was very quiet, even on New Years Eve! I know alot of people say they will come again and probably don't, but we will definitely use the apt again and come when the weather is a bit warmer, it was absolutley freezing over New Year. Will recommend. Thanks again Jennifer 28 January 2010 - 10:47:12

The apartment (our family -2adults3 childs- has been there for about two weeks) which is quite near to the Thames has a very good location to the town centre. (Among the various flats we rent during our to stays in London it had the best)- So one can easily have a stroll by the Thames and enjoy the view of the Houses of Parliament, especially in the evening when everything is illuminated. To go to Trafalgar Square one can have a nice walk or take busses from opposite the Thames. Lines 88 and 87 ; to the Museums (V&A,Science,Nat.Hist.) line 360 which leaves nearby comes in handy. The appartement "felt" as if a friend had lent it to us during her absence. Some nice givings like vine, tea, coffee and pasta were waiting for us. Carrol, a very friendly neibour, was our contact for questions and even had suggestions where to go. Dear Jennifer! We enjoyed our stay very much and would like to come again. We hope the apartment will be available when we have time to come next year.. 25 August 2010 - 18:04:22

We were a bit concerned with using this kind of accommodation as it was our first time (we are used to timeshare accommodation but wanted to experience something different). We also had a disastrous start to our week in London as we were delayed due to traffic from Cardiff. After a 11.5 hour bus (normally 2.5hrs) trip we arrived at 10.30pm. To be honest, with our nerves on end, it was not what we expected and was a little regretful of our choice. The next day after a good sleep, the change was dramatic. The apartment had so much information available, we started making our plans. No internet so the kids started getting frantic but a text to Jennifer sent Carol running to our door and all was quickly fixed up and so commenced a week of absolute pleasure. The apartment was perfect for us, had everything we needed and close to all facilities. As it was Christmas time, Jennifer arranged for the place to be decorated and made it feel a little like home. We had a 20 pound Oyster card each for the week and still had 3 pounds left at the end. The London transport system is fantastic and easy to understand with Buses just around the corner and subways not far away either. It is extremely close to everything you will want to see if you are on a sightseeing trip but I would suggest you stay for at least two weeks. On our first morning as we left for a sightseeing trip we were greeted by a very friendly and inquisitive local squirrel which fascinated the kids no end and then on Christmas morning while having a coffee and looking out the back at the snow covered park we were blessed with a lovely sighting of a FOX. This really made our trip, but alas, I digress from the purpose of the review. The apartment was fantastic for our needs, had more than ample information about the facilitities, the surrounding conveniences, transport and sightseeing activities and would thoroughly recommend it to any and everyone. It is very close to everything you could possible want to see in London, whether it is your first trip or a return visit. Thanks Jennifer 06 January 2011 - 23:01:50

We had a fantastic time at Chez Guinevere. Jennifer has provided loads of information about the local area, bus routes, tube stations, shops etc.Even an idiot like me could follow it. The apartment has everything we needed for our week in London and has an absolutely fantastic location. After walking for about two minutes we were at a bus stop directly opposite the houses of parliament. We couldnt have wished for a better location and at a great price. 27 January 2011 - 22:29:36

We are a french family (2 adults and 4 children), we really had a nice stay in London. The appartment of Jennifer is exactly what we needed : suitable for 6, close to the center but in a quiet environment, exactly as described with no bad surprise. Jennifer has taken care of everything even the car parking. There is a small park very close where the children can play. I do recommend it for those who want to enjoy a stay in London. 24 August 2011 - 20:26:04

We had a lovely time in London - the flat was ideally located, and Jennifer had provided a very welcome food basket for us on arrival. We are a family of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) and so we filled the flat - not that we were there much, there's too much to see and do in London! We loved that we could walk for a couple of minutes and then be at the Thames, looking at Big Ben! We used public transport extensively and found it very easy to negotiate. The Garden Museum and cafe (one street away) were a real find. My husband also tried out the pub down the road (to use their free internet access) and met some local characters! Our only negative was the musty smell of smoke in the flat - it wasn't quite warm enough for us to have the windows open a lot to air the flat out. But, besides that, we had a great time, thanks! 07 September 2011 - 10:16:34

We have rented the apartment twice and both time, everything was perfect. The location is amazing (just a short walk to Parliament & Big Ben), the flat very cosy and well maintained, situated in surprisingly peaceful and green area. Mrs.Jennifer is most welcoming and also prompt in correspondation, so I can honestly recomend this apartment to all groups listed bellow. Brigita 18 October 2011 - 13:18:44

The flat was as described - a very handy and quiet location, near Lambeth Palace. No tube stop close by, but plenty of buses running to the nearest ones (Vauxhall, Waterloo, Westminster), and elsewhere - much nicer way to get about as a tourist anyway. Also quite close to walk to several of the big sights (Big Ben, London Eye etc). Jennifer was very welcoming and helpful, with lots of local information and the "welcome pack" was a pleasant surprise also. Cooked most of our meals at the flat, which worked well and saved lots of money (also easy with kids). Sainsbury's supermarket (large) was a short bus ride away. Even had a washing line on the balcony, which was another bonus for getting washing dry. Only slight negative was the internet connection was a little flakey (worked fine except for our second day, for some reason, but started working again the next day). Not really a major issue for us though. 22 October 2011 - 17:20:37

Simply put, you can't beat staying at this flat if you are exploring London. Here are a few of the reasons: 1) The owner is incredibly responsive ahead of the trip, answers questions and makes sure everything is well prepared. 2) The neighborhood is great. It was a quiet little neighborhood where we could walk to get groceries, food or whatever we needed. Most importantly :), there is a great neighborhood pub (The Windmill) just around the corner. The area always felt safe. You have a nice view of the gardens from the balcony. 3) I was not sure if we were too far out of the main tourist attractions or not before we arrived. But as long as you enjoy walking and are comfortable with public transportation, this is great. I had thought we'd be taking the tube constantly but the bus is the way to go. Bus stops are within a 3-4 minute walk from the flat and they get you everywhere. (Go to the TFL site and download a Lambeth North Spider map.) If you need the tube, the stop is maybe 10 minutes but we only used Lambeth North once. We used the tube for other trips within town but always ended up on the bus or walking to the flat. But even better is you can walk along the Thames on a nice walking area with views of Parliament, Big Ben, etc. to get up the London Eye area. It's maybe a 20 minute stroll if you are taking your time. 4) The flat itself is perfect. We are two adults and 8 and 11 year old boys. Perfect setup. Separate beds for each boy in one bedroom and a bed for my wife and I in the other. Nice living room with places to chill, place to eat and functional kitchen. Sure, some of the fixtures within the flat are not the most modern but I couldn't care less as they work just fine. But the decision on this is simple -- pay 1 1/2 - 2 times as much for a basic hotel room or have room to spread out and not have your family on top of each other and stay in this awesome flat. 5) London itself is just awesome. I could write pages on how much we love this city. The only problem is doing everything you want in the short time there. It's worth it if you're doing the traditional tourist things to do the London Pass. DO NOT waste money on its competitor the London Explorer Pass -- it only allows you into a few places and you can get into those cheaper on site (i.e. the London Eye). In summary, there is no better option for visiting London than staying here. Book this without any concern, you will love it! 21 October 2017 - 15:11:00

We really enjoyed our stay at Chez Guinevere! The place was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We really appreciated the new, larger, refrigerator (twice the size of the one in the profile pictures) as it allowed us to have more meals at home thus saving us money. We were two adults and two 12 year-old boys. The location was perfect in that we could walk to Westminster, Waterloo or Lambeth North tube stations. On the day of the tube strike we really appreciated the central location! The boys really enjoyed the fountains and play structures in the Old Paradise Gardens Park behind the flat. It was a great way for them to wind down at the end of a day of walking. There was very good bus service on Lambeth Road and Lambeth Palace Road (2 minutes from the flat). We took the 344 bus to and from Elephant & Castle where there is a large Tesco grocery store. There is also a smaller convenience store that is well stocked on the Albert Embankment (5 minute walk). The 507 bus was a good one to take to and from Victoria Station. We found the Lambeth North tube station (on the Bakerloo Line) to be our best option for getting into the tube system. Both the station and the line were much quieter than the other stations/lines even during rush hour. We would definitely book this location again next time we come to London! 18 July 2015 - 16:09:08

We (2 adults, 2 kids of 14) really enjoyed our 5-day stay in London. This cosy, fully equipped and ideally located apartment is the perfect base to conquer London by bus, by underground or by foot. Jennifer, the landlord, is very responsive and supportive with relevant upfront information on useful bus / underground lines, shop and restaurant hints, to get a good start right from the first minute. We hope to make it back to London some day soon and will certainly try to rent the apartment again. 01 November 2017 - 19:09:00
