You can even hear Big Ben chime in the garden whilst the house itself shields street noise. THE AREA: We love the area too - The neighbourhood is one of London's best kept secrets and they regularly shoot films on Georgian square behind us. Too central to be a suburb it is a real authentic old part of central London littered with history, and where so much of it got destroyed in WWII - our house luckily survived. Kennington is in a bubble of land on the south side of the River Thames so in 5-20mins on foot you can get to so many places. We are are just 15 mins walk to Westminster, Tate Britain, and 25 mins walk National Galleries, Covent Garden, South Bank, and Theatreland - plus there's the West End with cafes, bars, clubs and restaurants accessible by foot or taxi. We are even right next to (1min walk) to the Imperial War Museum and park. The bus network virtually goes everywhere form the Imperial war Museum and Lambeth North Tube or Waterloo are the nearest underground stations.
