    We had a wonderful time in London - the apartment was perfect (rooms, equipement and location) - Underground and many busroutes really near - big supermarket just a few minutes to walk... - Thank you, Katherine. :) Wir haben unseren Londonaufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Wohnung war ruhig gelegen und doch zentral (mehrere Buslinien und die U-Bahn in der Nhe), auch Einkaufsmglichkeiten waren sehr gut.     It was our first trip to London and it was wonderful! The flat was like the pictures we had seen. The place is near the supermarket Tesco, restaurants, pubs, undergrownd and buses and a few minutes to the center but it's very quiet.     This lovely apartment feels like a second home to us already. We booked this apartment twice already and it will be our first choice when we will come back. We had this apartment in mind when we were planing our second trip to London. It's is decorated in a very stylish way and has plenty of space for 3 people. The location is amazing,just as Katherine described it, several busses that get you to the centre in 10 minutes and back at any time as well as the subway. Very close to Waterloo station. Very close to Tesco and Costcutters and a grocery right around the corner to top up the oyster card. Very safe area at all times and also quiet at night. It is very well located if you want to go to restaurants or pubs, some are just 2 mins away. We will sure book this apartment next time we come to London, it feels like a home away from home.     GREAT location! Bus Stop around the corner. Walk to Kennington and the Oval tube stations as well as Vauxhall train and tube station. Tesco Grocery Store, great coffee shop, pizza and pubs within 2 blocks. Very nice layout of the flat, very cozy for 4! Great water pressure in the shower. We took advantage of the kitchen and washing machine. It was terrific to have friendly and helpful owner on site. We would DEFINITELY return to Bowling Hall! 07 April 2015 - 02:10:18

    I had a wonderful stay here while visiting for the Rugby World Cup. Katherine was very accommodating and flexible, and made our stay very simple and easy. The property was clean and made up. All rooms receive lots of natural light and the living area is spacious and warm. The location is near perfect; around the corner are a number of cafes and restaurants, and the Kennington station is just a few minutes walk and gets you right into central London in minutes.     We stayed one week and everything was perfect, the owners are welcoming, Katherine has been very generous and helpful in many ways. We found everything we needed in the apartment, and outside, a supermarket just near by, indian restaurants and takeaways. We parked next to the apartment, not expensive and out of the congestion zone. Old Vic and Young Vic theatre, by walk. Very convenient place to visit London, not far from Tate Museums, Westminster, Borough Market, The Globe We felt like home and we hope to come back soon !     I already stayed two times at the Bowling Hall and enjoyed it very much. It is a very charming apartment and a lot of interesting sites like South Bank, London Eye,Tate Modern or Westminster are closed by. There is good public transport by bus or tube and there are quite a lot of Pubs and little places to eat around.     It's always difficult to know if the place you're renting online will live up the photos, description, and other reviews, but in this case the answer is a resounding "yes." Our family of three (two adults, one teen) stayed at this property for 9 days and we would happily stay there again. An excellent value for the money, we felt we had ample room in a comfortable space that was well outfitted with what we needed. The apartment was generally very clean (there were a few stray crumbs in the kitchen, but otherwise the place was spotless) and pleasant, and provided us with an nice home base from which to explore London and environs. Having a washing machine in the apartment was very handy and allowed us to travel light. The kitchen had all the necessary pans and dishes, as well as a few staple items like olive oil, sugar, and the like. We cooked some of our own meals and were happy to have an oven, four burners, and a microwave. A full Tesco grocery store is located a few blocks away, The bathroom has a tub/shower combo with outstanding water pressure. A full length shelf along one side of the room is very handy for keeping toiletries, and the hair dryer provided meant that we didn't need to bring one. Towels were provided, and there was a new bar of face soap. The living area features french doors that open out onto a stone patio, a large & comfortable couch, two other chairs, and a large television. The bedrooms (one double, one single) had comfortable beds and good wardrobe/dresser space; we could unpack fully. There are plenty of nearby restaurants and shops. The apartment is about a 10-minute walk from both the Kennington and Oval tube stops, both on the Northern line. We used the tube every day, and enjoyed cutting through Cleaver Square to get to the Kennington station. Currently there is a large construction project right across the street from the Bowling Hall, but do not be put off by that. We were concerned that the construction would wake us up early, but found that once inside the apartment, there is little noise from the street; we weren't bothered at all. The owners were not at home during our stay, but the woman who stayed there to look after things was delightful and very helpful. My only very minor quibble with our entire experience was waiting for a response from the owner to some questions I had before our arrival. The delayed response was a bit disconcerting to us, but all was fine in the end. Overall, a great experience! 24 August 2016 - 20:54:41

    Positives: Location convenient to attractions. Owners/hosts were friendly. Layout and amenities were nice and as described. Negatives: (I hate this part) but the place was not clean. The kitchen floor was sticky and stove had crumbs. Don't believe the pillow cases in one bedroom had not been changed (smell of sweat)...to be fair, the other bed and bedroom was absolutely clean. Toilet dirty. Bath towels, while clean, were stained as if used as painting rag. Again, to be fair, had the owners been home (they were in India until our last day) I suspect the place would have been clean. Unfortunately, their 20-something son was in charge.     Meine Familie (2 Erwachsene und 2 Kinder) hat sich sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefhlt. Die Kche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Man hatte im Wohn- und Esszimmer ausreichend Platz sich wohlzufhlen. Katherine ist sehr hflich und jeder Zeit hilfsbereit (antwortet immer sehr schnell). Die gute Infomappe in der Wohnung ergnzt die guten persnlichen Tipps. U-Bahn Oval oder Kennington sind in ca. 6 Fuminuten erreichbar. 3 Buslinien halten ca. 200 m von der Wohnung entfernt und bringen einen direkt zu den Top-Sehenwrdigkeiten. Es gibt diverse Supermrkte in der Nhe. Am Wochenende konnte man Nachts die Gste der umliegende Lokale hren. Wir wrden beim nchsten mal wieder bei Katherine buchen. 19 June 2017 - 19:53:00

    Days before my trip I asked if there would be any problems with my reservation and the owner told me no, at my arrival I set up and I went sightseeing around the city. My surprise is that being in a museum they call me because there is another family that is also for the same dates that they have rented the same apartment to two families. As the others were four and a dog and we are only two, they pulled out our things by touching my belongings to the entrance hall. The management of the apartment is not nothing good, which by the way is not nothing special, since they do not have a key to the apartment door that leads to their apartment. We had to spend two nights in the rooms of their absent children as if we shared floor with them, we finally solved it under an agreement but the discomfort of the stay and the racking and worries do not forget this unpleasant experience, no one would recommend this apartment. 22 August 2017 - 10:52:00

    Both Peter and Katherine were extremely welcoming and provided insight into transportation and things to do around London. The property is easy to find and is in a good location to get to DT London. This property is also priced right for a weekend stay. Unfortunately, the property wasn't as clean as we'd hoped for upon our arrival. There were crumbs on and under the table when we arrived. In addition, there was build-up/dust throughout the unit. The amenities show a washer and dryer for the unit, but there is only a drying rack. Peter and Katherine did allow us to use their dryer. Property is in need of updating and minor repairs.     We stayed for the month of January and the location couldn't be more central to anywhere that you may wish to see in London as the subway and bus routes were nearby. Fully and nicely furnished with all the necessities and amenities for those who wish to cook in on those occasions you did not wish to eat out. Cosy, comfortable, convenient and clean! (note that this is Europe so don't expect North American resort type accommodation). This is an older updated quaint charming building. Make note of the art work by Katherine that decorate the apartment which gives it a certain charm. Grocery shopping nearby at the Tesco (1 block) and nearby restaurants/pubs if you wish not to go far to eat/drink. Central London less than 1/2 hour away is a big plus! Katherine, Peter and son, Emile were pleasant and unobtrusive hosts. Though we spent more time away during the day from the apartment so did not see the Camps very much. We did not feel we were intruders nor did we feel uneasy with their presence. The apartment shares a common main entrance with separate entrances to each living quarters. Totally self contained! There was a small garden courtyard which we did not use as it was winter but we could see the opportunities to relax outside in the summer time. Would definite return and stay here again.     While they say location is everything - and in this case that's certainly true - it's by no means the only jewel in this particular crown. Our stay at the Bowling Hall coincided with the Royal Wedding and the apartment more than proved itself to be a haven from the 'madding crowds'. Attached to the family's home, it is completely self contained and private. Very light and airy with clean wooden floors punctuated with pools of colourful rugs, the apartment bears all the hallmarks of a lovely home. French windows allow light to stream in and a large courtyard garden, full of mature shrubs and trees, invites you to venture out onto the thoughtfully provided patio furniture. The overall feeling of tranquillity gives the impression of country rather than town living. The kitchen, complete with washing machine and all the usual appliances, was spotless; the bathroom and bedrooms similarly clean and comfortable with adequate storage facilities. Books and artwork proclaim the owners interests and provide the homely touches which capture the essence of the elements that make this appartment so charming. As a family, we have stayed in many types of accommodation in London over the years, but this has been our favourite. This is due to the spaciousness, the style and the helpfulness of the hospitable, but unobtrusive, hosts.     Our ten day stay was so enjoyable and comfortable in Katherine's lovely flat. The location was only a 5-10 minute walk from the bus stop or the Underground. We had no trouble at all navigating our way to all points around the city. The Kennington neighborhood was safe and we enjoyed the local restaurants and pubs during our visit. The only challenge we faced was finding the apartment on our arrival day. The street address is not easy to locate. Take the Underground (Tube) to the Oval Station on the Northern line, turn left on Kennington Park Road as you exit onto that road from the Tube, walk until you reach Kennington Road and turn left.     We stayed here for one week in October. It was a great experience. The owners were extremely helpful and attentive but not intrusive. They gave us lots of good advice regarding transportation and getting around. The apartment itself was also wonderful and very nice decorated. It was very spacious and had everything we needed. There are two grocery stores within walking distance. We were able to cook most of our own meals easily. The bathroom has on demand hot water which was awesome! The beds in both bedrooms were very comfortable. The location is perfect. It is right near the tube and several buses. You can also walk to a lot of attractions if you don't mind walking more than a mile or so. There are also a few nice restaurants right near the apartment. We highly recommend Kennington Tandoori. It puts Indian restaurants in the US to shame! The owners were very responsive to our needs. We had a few chilly days and they promptly turned the heat on for us, which we were very happy about! The only thing we didn't like was the construction noise across the street. There is an extension being built for the North Line. It wasn't horribly loud, but it did wake us up most mornings. I don't think this is going to be a long term problem. It will probably be a benefit in the future since there will be a tube station right across from the apartment.
