This flat served as our home base for the first week of our two-week London adventure and was clean, spacious (for 4 people), and very accessible! As others have mentioned, this flat is right in the heart of a construction zone (yep, still happening as of November 2016), but that shouldn't be too much of an issue for visitors who will be out sightseeing for most of the day. It is otherwise a great flat full of many supplied conveniences (free wifi, full kitchen w/utensils, washer/dryer, etc.) and is well within walking distance of two major tube stops and many of London's big sightseeing locations. Klara, our greeter, was awesome! Some issues with our arrival made us much later than planned, but Klara kept in communication with us and was extremely accommodating with her time. She helped us get settled and proved to be very easy to contact whenever we needed anything. All in all, we had a great experience and would gladly recommend this flat! 11 November 2016 - 20:14:00

This is a wonderful apartment. Close to St. Paul's, transportation and walking distance to many museums- the Tate, The Museum of London, The Guild Hall- to name a few. While it is true that there was a lot of construction going on they didn't start until 8 and were done by 6. And we weren't around when they were working. We were met promptly, the apartment was clean and well supplied with everything we needed. 12 November 2016 - 19:25:00

This flat was very clean, spacious, and other than being in the midst of a construction zone, well located. Construction began every week day at 7am directly outside the bedroom windows (flat is on the first floor), and there are workmen in front of the apartment building all day long, smoking cigarettes and hanging around. The flat itself was great, and I know the owner can't do anything about the construction, but the construction is a factor that future renters should be aware of when renting this flat. 19 February 2016 - 16:26:15

We arrived at this difficult to find property among a very under construction - major construction- area. The property looked ok, however- there was a very serious leak in the ceiling that had rendered the light fixtures useless in the living room and allowed mold to grow. When asked, i was told that they were waiting for insurance to pay which "takes a while". My daughter is quite allergic to mold and had we been informed, we would have cancelled. They did not think it important. My daughter had serious allergic response including an asthma attack that took days to recover from after leaving. The shower also had a significant leak (You could hear it in the hallway- DRIP< DRIP) No hot water. Oven broken. Beds are like boards. I could have lived with most of that, however, their failure to inform of us of the leak put my daughter's health at risk. We left. The gentleman who helped us felt like Klara would understand. NO WAY- her response was they could not smell mold so it wasn't a concern. Additionally she lied to home away and said it just needed painting. I am trying desperately to get my money back as they misrepresented the property. I would not recommend doing any renting with this shameful owner. 11 April 2017 - 20:13:00

22 December 2016 - 19:52:00

The flat was perfect for two couples sightseeing in London for four days. The excellent location is a few minutes walk from St. Paul's and the Millennium Bridge. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to fellow travelers. 13 August 2016 - 18:33:00

Overall happy with the accomodations for our group of four (2 adult couples). There is a lot of neighboring construction going on from 8am-5pm, so not likely to sleep in, but that's not why London is for anyway ;0) The hostess was very responsive to texts/emails. If the wifi dropped out, she helped try and trouble shoot and then called an engineer to get it fixed. Also the hot water would only stay hot for about 30-40 secs, but by my own fault, we just lived with it for the week. As soon as I let Klara know, she immediately called the plumber. So all in all, is it a great flat in the heart of the city and I would definitely stay there again. 18 March 2017 - 13:48:00

We a family of 5, three teenagers and this location worked well for us. The neighborhood is very quiet- even with construction going on- we didn't ever notice the noise. As their signs say, they are a very courteous construction company. The apartment is close to several tube stops, markets, sights and everything you could need in London. The wifi was out when we arrived but they were very quick to get it fixed. The oven needed to be fixed but it didn't really matter for us and I am sure that they have had that fixed since we left. The only thing we couldn't manage was to get hot water in the shower: it was strange because there was scalding hot water out of the sinks but not the shower. This made for quick showers but I think this falls in our fault and not theirs. One really great thing was how toasty warm you can get the apartment- perfect after a chilly London day out. If we were to go back, we would stay here again. It was easy to find, get in and get oriented. Tony helped us upon arrival and was very friendly and efficient. They were also very kind to provide lots of information about the surrounding location sights, restaurants, gyms, etc. That was very helpful and got us excited to arrive even before we left. 05 April 2017 - 16:47:00

We stayed here for 8 days in April 2017. The apartment is in a great location with easy access to two tube lines but we mainly walked everywhere. It is well appointed and there are several markets and restaurants/pubs/cafes close by. Check in and check out was very easy. Don't let the construction scare you off. They don't start until 8am and were done by 5pm and really were not very noisy during these hours (one morning I slept until 8:30 and didn't hear them at all). I would not hesitate to stay here again! Don't miss the view of the city from the 6th floor of One New Change! 29 April 2017 - 00:47:00

Our stay didn't start well with Tatiana not being there, even when we phoned ahead - then she didn't answer her phone for 10 minutes after we got there. The showers are not good, there is no place to put the soap and the shower handle in the ensuite fell off and the pressure is a trickle, there were 2 half rolls of toilet paper for a week. The oven did not work and all the instruction manuals are in a draw with no order to them and the bench top has stains all over it. The road closures around this area make getting a car to pick you up a nightmare. The location is fantastic with 2 tube stations, on different lines, within a 5 minute walk and there are banks, Tesco Express, restaurants and pubs close bye as well 27 May 2017 - 16:13:00

We were able to sleep and cook minor meals comfortably, however, the showers yielded water that was scalding at first and then lukewarm after that. The construction posed problems to car service in every case. All in all was a comfortable base for exploring London however was not particularly "luxurious". 30 May 2017 - 18:45:00

Stayed with family of 5 (3 teens) for 4 nights. Great kitchen, washer/dryer. Enough room to sleep everyone comfortably. Quiet, safe location, quick walk to underground, grocery and restaurants. Construction noise during the day, but did not bother us as we were out being tourists all day. 04 July 2017 - 15:22:00

Leading up to our visit, communication was very good! Klara arranged a taxi service to and from Gatwick for us. Gatwick is about 1.5 hours away. Had we known, we would have flown into Heathrow. (I believe taxi service to/from Gatwick is 181 pounds.) Taxi service to/from the airport was flawless!! A driver was waiting for us when we landed, and our driver picked us up right on time when the time came to head back to the airport. The only glitch was that the construction right next to the apartment threw our driver off for our initial trip from the airport. Donna met us, and we had a very short walk to the apartment. Donna was very sweet upon check in, and she showed us around the apartment. The day before we had to go back to the airport, I emailed Klara to be sure our driver would be able to find us to pick us up. She contacted the taxi service and gave them very specific directions, and all was good, as our driver found us!! What I wish we would have asked for would be more specific directions on how to use the stove and the washer/dryer. They were a little tricky to operate, but we googled for manuals and figured it out! I read in previous reviews that the oven was broken. It's still broken! That didn't matter to us because we didn't need it, but it could present an issue if you're planning on using it. In the listing, a fitness room is advertised. There is NO FITNESS ROOM!! You must go to a nearby gym to work out (for an additional fee). There are also no electrical outlets in the two bathrooms. We bought an extension cord, and that solved that little problem! Apparently it's the law in the U.K. that no outlets may be in bathrooms unless they are a certain distance from a tub/shower. The first day we were there, it was very stuffy in the apartment. There's no a/c. We opened all the windows, and we were able to keep the apartment at a nice temperature for our stay. The patio door was tricky to lock, so open it at your own risk! All in all, it was a very nice place to stay, and we would rent it again if we are ever back in the city! It accommodated our family of 5 very nicely!! It was only a few minutes (walking) to St. Paul's Cathedral, and close to a couple of different Underground lines, markets, and restaurants. The construction mainly occurred when we were out exploring the city, so it really didn't bother us! If you're looking to sleep during the day though, it would be too noisy, as it's literally right outside the windows!! 26 July 2017 - 16:52:00

Stayed for 7 nights family of four adults. The apartment was nice, beds comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Main bathroom shower a tight squeeze getting into. Very close to underground tube, many pubs and market a short walk. My only complaint is the dryer it dose not work well. Clothes take a very long time to dry. (Not owners fault). Donna very helpful on our arrival. Would stay again when in London. 11 August 2017 - 13:56:00

We chose this apartment for two reasons: location and amenities. The location did not disappoint. Steps from St. Pauls and the City. Steps from Smithfield and the Barbican. Easy access to the Tube and buses. A great area and easy to get around. Amenities are a different story. The apartment advertises as sleeping eight. We arrived and were told that one of the two bathrooms had a leak and we might not be able to use the shower. Two families amounting to seven people using one shower? Fortunately, we were then given the go ahead to use the shower despite the leak. But we were also told the oven was not working, and we could only use the smaller convection/microwave. The pots and pans in the unit are worn out. The nonstick pans have no coating left and are a cleaning nightmare. Later that night we tried to use the washer/dryer. It filled with water, with much of our clothing in it, and then stopped. It was never fixed during our four night stay. Eventually (a couple of days later when it became clear it was never going to be fixed and after a couple of floods when we tried to figure out the problem), we had to bail the water out of the washer by hand and retrieve our sopping clothing and find a laundromat. The next morning we discovered neither the coffee maker nor the toaster worked (the toaster literally started to fall apart when we attempted to use it). In fairness, these were replaced later that same day. The en-suite bathroom has no towel bars. The shower has no soap dish or any place to put shower items. There is literally no place to hang up a wet towel in the bathroom or the attached room. Under the sink there is a cupboard door that is cracked and chipping that appears to have been damaged when many previous users were forced to hang their wet towels over this wood door. Finally, on day three, the shower head in the main bathroom detached and hit one of our group while he was showering. The sleeping arrangements are two actual beds (sleeping 4 total) and fold out couch (sleeps two) and two chairs that convert into single beds. The chairs are so uncomfortable to sleep on as to be virtually useless except for small children. The construction work around the apartment didn't bother us at all but it does bring a lot of dust into the flat if you open the windows, but not the owners fault obviously. Would just not call this a luxury apartment, it's fine, but not luxury. 07 September 2017 - 15:07:00

So this is a nice apartment tucked away in Spencer Heights. Secure building and a short walk to St. Paul's, several pubs, shops, bakeries etc. Donna and Klara could not have been more helpful from arranging transportation and greeting us upon arrival. The apartment is quite nice with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. I really don't have anything negative to say at all...but do have a couple of suggestions: perhaps provide a few more towels, hooks in the washroom to hang towels would be great and a mirror in each of the bedrooms. I was unable to use the outlet in the bathroom to dry my hair, so had to dry my hair in the bedroom with no mirror.....bit of a challenge, but not a deal breaker. Just would be a nice addition. Again, I would stay in this apartment again without hesitation as we were treated very well and the apartment was clean. 20 September 2017 - 18:47:00
  17. The "two-bedroom/two bath flat off St. Paul's cathedral" apartment was ideal for our family of 2 adult couples staying there for a week. Its central location allowed us to walk to every site we were interested in visiting (from Borough Market to Tate Modern and the National Theater to the British Museum and Library), and return "home" at night to a quiet street only minutes away from lively pubs and restaurants and several tube lines. It was well arranged for maximum privacy, clean and well maintained and secure with safe access at all hours. Our only complaint would be that the dryer in the washer/dryer combination was not working and it only proved a problem since we had packed, thinking that we would be able to refresh our clothes mid-week. Sophie made the rental process easy and reassuring and Lidiana was so helpful at check-in and check-out, orienting us to the apartment and neighborhood and making arrangements for a taxi to the airport upon arrival and departure. We always felt we could contact them in case of emergency and they would respond. I would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay there again on another trip to London. 27 April 2013 - 12:51:27

My husband, daughter and I stayed at this flat for 2 weeks. We found it a very convenient location to see and do all that we wanted to. We were close to the underground so getting around was no problem. It is a 5 minute walk to the Thames river and alot of popular attractions. Being able to go out in the morning, go around the corner and see St. Paul's Cathedral each day was one of the highlights for me. As previously mentioned, there isn't a lot of choice for restaurants in the evening but we either ate before we went back to the flat or made our own supper. Beds and accommodation were very comfortable. When we return to London we will definitely try to book this flat again. 12 November 2014 - 00:01:37

The apartment was very nice and clean and very conveniently located to the Tube near St. Paul's Cathedral. However, we received notice 12 hours before arrival from Klara that there was a leak in the second bathroom and that it was under repairs and would not be usable. There was no time to change our plans since we were boarding a plane from Zurich and our friends {sharing the apartment with us) were in the air traveling to London. We had no choice but to make the best of it and stay in the apartment. We were met at the apartment by Donnelle who was very nervous and impatient to leave. After a brief introduction, Donnelle left with the statement that she could be "reached at any time". We were unable to contact her for the duration of our stay. We needed to reimburse Klara for our airport transfers but felt uncomfortable about leaving cash in the apartment upon our departure. We tried contacting Klara and Donnelle about getting a receipt and receiving confirmation that our airport transfer was arranged for the next morning. We were able to contact the airport transportation company to confirm our transfer. We were reimbursed 40% of our expenses for our inconvenience but was dissatisfied with Klara for not arranging suitable accommodations for us knowing that the apartment would be in need of repair. We believe that the situation was handled very poorly and no consideration was taken to provide an alternate accommodation. 20 November 2017 - 21:31:00

The unit is average. Been in much nicer, and I have had worse HomeAway experiences. Communication is ok. Mostly text and email, nobody seems to want to chat on the phone anymore. Reply times could be faster, but they did reply each time. Location is fine. Some construction going on in the neighborhood that closed a road and made it a bit difficult for taxis or Uber to reach the building, but nothing that owner can control, and I am sure that will be finished in the coming months. Unit has a few issues going on, but nothing that impacted the stay. Shower drips non-stop, and the tiles in bathroom had been damaged as it appears someone had been exploring for the source of a leak. Again, this is just cosmetic, not something that made unit uninhabitable. We would probably pick a different place in the future, but the price of the unit was a decent value. 11 January 2018 - 13:38:00
