Our family just returned from staying at this wonderful home for six days. We were in Brooklyn to attend our daughters wedding. This spacious home exceeded our expectations. It was clean and everything was provided to make our stay so comfortable. It is a great place to stay for children as well. The home is located close to many fabulous restaurants, stores, and an easy walk to the trains to get anywhere you want to go. We visited Manhattan, Times Square, Ground Zero, and many other sites while we were here. Ellis and Sherry were delightful and always available for questions when we needed answers. In the future, when we visit Brooklyn, we would not hesitate to stay in this lovely home again. 30 September 2015 - 17:10:42

This place was exactly as described and pictured. It was close to grocery stores, the subway and restaurants. We LOVED staying in Brooklyn this time visiting NYC. It was mostly a quiet neighborhood(except garbage trucks) and family friendly. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We had 5 adults and 2 children and the size of the place was perfect for us! We felt safe and comfortable. I would certainly recommend this property to others(I have already done so). We hope to return one day ourselves! 30 December 2011 - 15:44:16

This was the perfect venue for us to meet up with our daughter & her husband from Portland, Or, and our son & his wife who live in Clinton Hill area of Brooklyn. So close to everything we wanted: subway, restaurants & diners, groceries and a comfortable neighborhood. The house was spacious and had all the amenities we needed. We actually refer to it as our Brooklyn home when we reminisce about our trip. Staying in this Brownstone helped us feel like residents, not just visitors staying in a hotel.in a business district. When we visit NY again, we will reserve this property, Happy New Year, Ellis, et al. 28 January 2012 - 05:37:35

Our family of four just finished a three month stay at this property while our apartment is being renovated. While the photos and property description are very accurate, they don't really capture the warmth and charm of the place. It's spacious, inviting, and extremely comfortable. The owners could not be nicer or more welcoming. Any minor issues we had were resolved immediately. The location, right in the middle of Park Slope, is close to many playgrounds, restaurants, bars, and shops. If you are looking for a place that truly feels like a home away from home you can't do better than this property. 14 April 2012 - 14:26:22

Our family of five adults and two children stayed here for several days while visiting our son. This place feels like home. It is so comfortable with nice furnishings, lots of the owner's books and items of their travels. Our grandchildren had a ball playing in the basement. It was very clean and well maintained. It is within walking distance of nice places to eat, shops, and grocery stores. We drove there but didn't use our cars and the subway is just down the street. Ellis is very nice and gave us some great suggestions. We would highly recommend this place and hope to return in the future. 18 August 2013 - 22:50:54

We stayed at this lovely apartment with friends while visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Park Slope. It is very comfortable, full of interesting art and books. The kitchen is well-stocked. We enjoyed the back yard and barbeque. It is in an excellent location near many good restaurants and shops and the subway. The owners are very nice and helpful. We would recommend it. 27 August 2013 - 17:35:10

This is an extraordinarily wonderful place to stay in the heart of Park Slope. My family and I rented this apartment for a 2-week stay. The amount of space is allowed us to be VERY comfortable and to honestly make ourselves "at-home". The apartment is clean, well-furnished, and well equipped. The experience was likewise facilitated by the owners who struck the perfect balance of looking after you and leaving you be. The neighborhood has all of the conveniences one could hope for and is a great balance between a quiet and family-friendly neighborhood and the dynamism of NYC. I would very happily recommend this establishment to anyone and myself have already planned a return trip. 18 November 2013 - 15:26:06

We were wowed by Ellis's place in Park Slope! While attending our younger son's wedding we shared the place with our older son, daughter-in-law and grandson, and hosted dinner for the bride's parents. Everything we needed was there, from toys, iphone compatible speakers, fully equipped kitchen and dining, great shower, not to mention the shops, and beautiful Prospect Park. We even figured out the parking for free. We plan to return! 24 November 2013 - 19:03:39

We were in Brooklyn to celebrate my brother's wedding. We could not have chosen a better home as our base. It easily accommodated two adults and three older kids. It is in an excellent location (next to the most amazing Belgian breakfast cafe, as well as many other interesting and varied shops and restaurants) and only a few minute walk to the subway. The home was clean, nicely appointed and comfortably furnished. Ellis was very accommodating and made every effort to ensure our stay was a success. We were able to easily explore Brooklyn, Manhattan and Coney Island. Thank you! 14 May 2014 - 21:15:08

We were in NYC during Easter weekend and decided to stay in Brooklyn to discover this city and be close enough to visit sights in Manhattan... We loved the house, the location, the neighborhood, the proximity to the subway and to Manhattan (20 min to Times Square), the restaurants and shops in the area, Prospect Park, etc. We will be staying in Brooklyn again and again for next visits to NYC, and hopefully to this property as well. There's much to see and experience in Brooklyn too! We stayed with our daughters and my parents and the house was perfect in size, location, amenities, supplies, with the garden as a bonus! It's a home away from home for sure! Many thanks and we look forward to meeting again soon! 30 April 2015 - 18:15:31

PROS: The location is convenient to metro, park, playground and restaurants, the house is tastefully decorated with plenty of books and toys for preschoolers. We visited during a cool week in summer and it was comfortable. CONS: The basement bedroom has very poor air quality, some safety codes are not up to date. The beds upstairs are very soft (which could be a pro for some). Unfortunately the most memorable part of the stay is the hundreds of winged ants that invaded the kitchen on our last night (we did not leave out food and the trash was emptied the day before). There were ant baits around the house (including under a bed!) so it was a known problem. 23 July 2015 - 03:57:47

Update: The landlord offered a partial refund as an apology for the ants. I'd rate the house 4 stars if the ants incident didn't happen. 30 July 2015 - 21:18:06

We have stayed at this wonderful place several times over the past few years. We generally travel with another family and the apartment is spacious enough to accommodate our family and friends with no problems. Ellis is always responsive to any problems we might have (problems do tend to come with an older home) and issues have been addressed in a timely fashion. The house is conveniently located to neighborhood restaurants and attractions as well as to bus and subway lines and it is easy to get to the city or other areas of Brooklyn. 30 October 2015 - 20:55:29

This is our second visit to spend Thanksgiving week at Ellis and Sherry's very comfortable and convenient home. Our son and his wife live nearby and this home accommodates our other grown children and grandkids as we also rent the 3rd floor studio. The kitchen is well stocked to prepare a large meal with plenty of seating for everyone. We find the beds very comfortable and the house is cozy as well. The owners are helpful with instructions for their house, on street parking and the neighborhood in general while never being intrusive. Our whole family was excited to return this year. 23 November 2015 - 19:00:18

This house is in the best part of Brooklyn! There's so much to do and lots of great places to eat. Park Slope is great for families, cool, young people and cool older people too. Ellis and Sherry are lovely, responsive hosts and the house is clean and comfortable. I'm looking forward to coming back. 07 December 2015 - 00:31:55

We had a great girls' weekend in January at this lovely house. It's in a fantastic location, right in the center of great restaurants, bars, and shops. The home had everything we needed (supplies, linens etc) and Ellis and Sherry were available but not intrusive. The beds are comfortable, but sleeping areas are upstairs and in the basement (which might be tricky for people who have trouble on stairs). For cozy nights in, there is cable and also a connection to netflix, Hulu, and amazon prime. All in all a great find, and I would love to come back! 20 January 2016 - 20:37:45

My family and I stayed in this beautiful and spacious apartment for a long weekend. My husband and 2 young daughters and I were very comfortable here and only wish we could have stayed longer. We loved everything about it; the location, the size, the decor, the beds, etc. The hosts were also terrific and very accommodating. I highly recommend it. We are looking forward to our next trip to Brooklyn. 16 February 2016 - 00:05:15

My family and I really enjoyed our time in Brooklyn, and the place we stayed in made all the difference. It is a lovely apartment with lots of space - it was luxurious to have so much square footage in a city where it is at a premium. We particularly enjoyed hanging out in the living room. The dining area is great for hosting, we had eight people sharing a meal together with room to spare. The bedrooms are comfortable and homey. Ellis is a gracious host, and was helpful and friendly. The location is great too, it is very close to Prospect Park. If you are looking for somewhere to stay in Brooklyn, I highly recommend this place! 09 August 2017 - 18:01:00

The apartment is a great size in a wonderful area, close to bars, restaurants and shops on 5th Avenue. Unfortunately there are a number of problems with the apartment and in need of maintenance and repairs. Both the front and back doors don't work properly and need fixing. The cooker front was hanging off and most of the gas hobs didn't work. The kitchen cupboards and doors are all in need of repair. The basement area where the children are meant to sleep smelt very strongly of damp and mildew, so much so that we did not allow them to sleep there. We found a dead and rotting pigeon in the back garden that had been there for many days. We were also provided with 1 key for 4 adults which just wasn't acceptable. 18 June 2017 - 14:03:00
