I would have given this property 5 stars if it weren't for the noise at night. The owners were lovely and met us at the property to get us settled. The apartment is the perfect size and exactly what you would think a Parisian apartment should look like. You are only one block from Notre Dame AND you have a view of the Siene. The metro station which will get you anywhere you want to go is just 2 blocks away. We loved everything about the apartment but we didn't sleep well for our entire stay. There is a bar right across the street, there is very loud traffic on the Siene until midnight and the trash trucks come every other day at 6:00 am. I would recommend ear plugs and if you have children as we did, they need to be heavy sleepers or they will get very little sleep. I wish there wasn't a noise problem because everything else about this apartment is great! 11 July 2016 - 14:42:00

We stayed 5 nights in this fabulous apartment in Paris. The apartment is well appointed with a nice kitchen, bathroom, washer/dryer, and bed with plenty of room. The location is perfect in a wonderful neighborhood close to everything we want to see when we visit Paris. As has been noted, it can be a little loud at night but given the location it is a minor issue if at all. And lastly, Jeannette Brown made the process easy for us and when we mistakenly left our passports at the apartment and went on to Provence, she owned our problem and got our passports to us virtually overnight. All in all, a wonderful experience! 31 May 2017 - 12:14:00

We had nine days here in May/June 2011. It's a lovely, well appointed and quite spacious apartment in a charming building. Location is terrific with views of the Seine as a bonus. The owners were particularly helpful before, during and after our stay. Lots of good travel books to browse through. Were it not for the noisy patrons of the pub opposite (which stayed open until 5am on all but one night of our stay) I would have definitely given this property 5 stars. Such a shame because it's a very lovely place. 08 July 2011 - 06:31:18

We spent a week at the apartment the beginning of August. Even though it was fairly hot in august, the apartment gets great ventalation because of the through breeze, so air conditioning was not a problem. The apartment's greatest plus is it's location. The pictures are spot on with a beautiful view of the Seine right out the window. We were within one minute of Notre Dame and a few minutes of the Louvre, St. Suplice, and Palace of Justice. Aside from that, the Metro station is no more than a minute away. It was easy figuring out which line to take, and if you get confused, every native was friendly and kind to help. The neighborhood was also conveniently located in the St. Germaine district which meant wonderful neighborhoods with great food and history. We walked many mornings down the street to a pastry shop to pick up a wonderful treat! My final positive was the fact that you can take the RER train from CDG Airport to right down the street from the apartment. The trip was 35 mins and cost the four of us 43 Euro return. The taxi at the airport was going to cost 90 Euro each way for the four of us! I am a pretty good negotiator, but they wouldn't budge on the price, so we went down to take the train and were really surprised how easy it was to find the train and then get to the apartment! We will be back the next time we stay in Paris. In fact, we took two days and took the train to London. The Metro by the apartment took us straight to Gare Du Nord train station, and it was a great little side trip to take in a few West End shows! 13 August 2011 - 14:19:22

We stayed one week in mid to later October of 2011. Just about a perfect Paris experience. The owners were very easy to work with before and after our trip. We know Paris so it was very easy to find the apartment. It would be pretty easy for a newcomer as well. Walked everywhere. There are good Metro and RER connections if needed. The apartment itself was very comfortable and welcoming. Everything worked. We ate several dinners at home which was fun. There are many, many dining options very close, of course. 29 November 2011 - 18:47:07

This review is a few years late, but here's why... Paris was my first trip abroad and this apartment was my first experience with VRBO. I have been to three other countries and booked four other apartments (all nice) through this service and I'll tell you, THIS apartment has been the most wonderful. The location couldn't be more wonderful...the views are amazing and the neighborhood is wonderful and safe. There are groceries, markets, and very good restaurants within close walking distance, the Louvre just across the river. When you walk out onto the street, the Pont Neuf is on your left and Notre Dame on your right. The kitchen was very well-equipped and having 1.5 baths (the full bath is huge) was great. The owners are lovely and helpful. In short...I think of Paris often and what a wonderful home away from home we had there. Having stayed other places in Europe since has made me understand just how special this charming apartment was. I will certainly be back! 01 February 2012 - 02:20:18

My husband and I stayed at VRBO#4492 and had a great time! The apartment's location is terrific, allowing one to easily walk to major tourist sites including Louvre, Musee D'Orsey, Notre Dame, etc. In addition the apartment is located in the charming 6th, which features wonderful restaurants, cafes and shopping. Very comfortable apartment and the renovation of the bath / kitchen is extremely tasteful. My husband was initially having difficulty in with the wifi and the owner immediately provided assistance and he was able to stay connected. Wonderful views as well. We had a fantastic time and cannot speak more highly of the whole experience. 04 June 2012 - 19:14:32

The apartment was wonderful. The photos really don't do it justice. The owner's attention to detail makes it such a special and comfortable place. It is so conveniently located near cafes, shopping, Notre Dame, the Metro and RER. Not to mention the view of the Seine! The owners are extremely communicative and helpful, offering lots of travel tips while in Paris. We would not hesitate staying here again. 14 July 2012 - 01:40:16

At Rue Git, my wife, 9 y.o. daughter and I had our best family trip at the beginning of 2012 (a lot of it had to do with this wonderful apartment). Located on the top floor of the building, the one bedroom apartment's window looks out on the Seine. This vista alone made it worthwhile to eat all our breakfasts of baguette (from the patisserie just over a block away) and jam at the dining table. With our daughter sleeping on the twin bed in the main room, we really utilized the full european kitchen to make meals that kept her going throughout the long sightseeing days while also saving a lot of euro. The bathroom remodel is beautiful and, even though the building dates back centuries, the plumbing gave a lot of pressure and plenty of hot water. The washer/dryer in the bathroom also helped us reduce our packing for the week's trip. In the bedroom, there's a king size bed that is quite comfortable, and should be suitable for anyone. Beyond the apartment itself, it was wonderful to work with Jeannette. She was full of information and recommendations, and we were very comfortable knowing that we would have a great stay before we even left the US. It was also nice to have had the apartment's keys in hand before we left the US, as we just walked right in and didn't have to worry about meeting up with anyone to get into the place while jet-lagged. Not only is the apartment within a 5' walk from Notre Dame and the rest of the Latin Quarter, but also the Metro is literally a 2' walk from the front door. The convenience of the location cannot be better! Lastly, in some of the other reviews, there is mention of noise from the pub across the street; we were there from just after Christmas through New Year's and Paris was packed, but other than New Year's Eve, the noise was no greater than one would expect in the center of a big city. While I find this low rumble soothing, my wife's a bit more sensitive to noise, so she wore disposable ear plugs on a couple of occasions (which she often does while traveling). I would not let the pub deter you from considering this property. In short, we loved our stay so much that we're looking to return to Rue Git in the spring of 2013. 05 August 2012 - 21:26:58

Our family stayed at this wonderful apartment in the best part of Paris! The apartment's location is amazing. We could walk to the Louvre, Musee D'Orsey, Notre Dame, etc. The restaurants in the neighborhood were terrific & we found the worlds best crepe maker around the corner! The 4 of us (2 adults & 2 children) were very comfortable and loved the new kitchen, bath & washer/dryer. The Wi-Fi feature is awesome! The view was unbelievable. We cant wait to go back! 22 November 2012 - 16:44:06

My daughter, her friend and I stayed at this lovely apartment in the heart of The Latin Quarter. This was her first time in Paris so I wanted the trip to be memorable. This apartment did not dissapoint. Waking up each morning and seeing the Seine was great. The location was close to everything we wanted to visit during our week stay. The apartment was clean, well furnished and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. We especially like that the toilet was separate from the big shower and sink since we had three women in one place. We never had to rush our time in the shower or getting ready each morning. The wifi and free long distance calling allowed us to stay in touch with our family back home without worring about racking up our cell phone charges. Good restaurants and shopping were all nearby. Wish I could remember the name of the restaurant near St Michel that served the best creme brulee, so good that it brought me to tears. We will definately stay here again and highly recommend. 05 December 2012 - 22:49:46

My sister and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this perfectly located, cozy, well-appointed apartment, having just enjoyed eight days and nights there on our first trip to Paris. Jeannette and John were just delightful owners and provided us everything we needed in advance of and during our trip, answering our questions and giving us good recommendations on area dining and shopping. The apartment itself is so cozy, bed is very comfortable, shower is lovely with great pressure and hot water, great wifi, well-appointed kitchen (you know you're in France when the utensils drawer has more corkscrews than most restaurants!), and the VIEW!!! Being able to open our windows to see our lovely geraniums and the Seine in all its glory - - - what more could you want? You do have to trek up the steps to this fourth floor apartment, but we just kept telling ourselves that meant we could eat more pastries and pate!!! Location is great; just off Place St Michel, good for Metro and taxis, and of course, walking this beautiful city. Wonderful markets and boulangers, delis, etc. nearby. Very safe location. Nice touches throughout the apartment, candles everywhere, big towels, lovely dishes, etc. (There was a TV and a sound system, but we never turned them on - - I mean, Paris was just outside the windows!!!) We could not have picked a more perfect apartment for our trip, and I would recommend it without any reservation whatsoever to anyone traveling to Paris! Thanks to Jeannette and John for sharing this cozy Paris getaway. 20 May 2013 - 14:22:22

For one beautiful week, my husband and I were able to imagine that we were true Parisians and "Vivant la Bonne Vie." Each day, we discovered more little secret shops, cafes, and markets right in our own neighborhood. The apartment is simple, comfortable, and very cozy. I spend many nights on the road for work travel and as a result, I am very particular about sleeping arrangements. The bed was comfortable, and the bedroom was intimate. We would throw open the windows and let the sounds of Paris awaken us. I would highly recommend this apartment as it is convenient to everything. When (not if) we return to Paris, we will reach out to you Jeanette! Merci for sharing this lovely little piece of heaven. 21 October 2013 - 19:50:02

We returned to Paris and this apartment for Spring Break 2013. My wife, daughter (11 y.o) and I absolutely love the environment in and around this small flat. More than anything, in this review, I want to reveal the benefits of staying in this centrally located apartment. As many of you know, the European spring was bitterly cold, and Paris during that week was no exception. However, only having to walk literally 2' to get on the Metro, we barely noticed the frigid temperatures and the wind. This apartment is great not only because of its proximity to the Metro and RER, but also because of its well-equipped kitchen and laundry. Unlike our trip last year, this year we did a lot of marketing and ate in. The kitchen is fully equipped, and we were able to eat all breakfasts, make picnics for lunches, and enjoy half of our dinners in the apartment. Marketing with my family (and a lot of Paris) in the late afternoon hours was a lot of fun, and an adventure in and of itself. Also, the laundry, as I noted in my earlier review, means that you don't have to overpack for the trip, and, if you do get wet, it's easy to throw things in the dryer for a few minutes. More than anything, however, Jeannette makes the run-up to the trip enjoyable, as she truly wants her guest to have a great time in Paris. It's almost as if, as you plan your trip from home, you have a concierge to support you in your efforts as she sends a detailed list of dining options in the area. I cannot recommend this apartment enough as a home base for exploring all that Paris has to offer. 19 December 2013 - 16:55:50

My husband and I just spent one lovely week at Rue Git Le Coeur Apartment. It was everything we had hoped for and more. The location was fantastic, great view of the Seine. We were close to all the museums and sights. When we returned back to the apartment, it was quiet, relaxing, and a great respite from our busy day of sight-seeing. The apartment is very well appointed. We loved the old-beam ceilings and Parisian feel. Yet there was everything we needed. Just like home. Jeannette was so helpful with sugestions for restaurants, sights and travel logistics. She arranged for Luis to drive us to the airport for our flight home. The bottle of wine welcoming us was a very nice touch, as well. The new owners, Yves and Elisabeth, live in the same apartment. It was so very nice of Yves to stop by and introduce himself and give us a bottle of Champagne. We hope one day to return to this Paris Gem. 09 June 2016 - 23:39:11
