The bright lights, big city concept was certainly born in Midtown Manhattan on the West Side of town, where Times Square and the Theater District are at the core. This bustling area offers everything from performing arts to culinary delights. Midtown West spans from 30th Street to 59th Street on the west side of Fifth Avenue over to the Hudson River, and is home to many of Manhattan’s most frequented attractions as well as arts institutes like Carnegie Hall and Alvin Ailey. It’s also close enough to Central Park for residents to take advantage of the greenery and activities that await them there. And restaurant row on Ninth Avenue can’t be beat for great eats. Midtown West is also first and foremost an easy commute - in walking distance to A, C, E, B, D, 1, 2 and 3 trains, bus stop on the corner of our block. Our building is located on the corner of 53-rd street and 9-th avenue. We were a family of 5 people, but the apartment is also comfortable for 7 ! First of all , location is perfect . Hells Kitchen is "The place" . Restaurants and pubs everywhere and people having fun . You can have a good sleep at night being so close to everything ! It is nice to hear the soft steps of the horses coming back from the central Park at night... The apartment is provided with everything you want and I dare to say , a little more ... Everything is clean and there is a lot of natural light that gives you real idea of the day! You have 2 lifts in the building (which is not very common in some areas) and the add value of the terrace ! My God ! You only need a beer or a glass of wine and dream is already completed ! Modern and comfortable furniture on the terrace (the photo on VRBO is not updated) . So you will find a better view with flowers , good atmosphere and the lights at night . Terrific ! The owners... no words to tell how nice they are . Extremely helpful !! So , no doubt to recommend this property located in a luxury building to anyone who wants to spend beautiful holidays in NYC !! Many thanks Laura and Irina for making our stay so comfortable !!! 21 May 2015 - 15:25:37

Our family of 5 had a great time in NYC due to the ease and trustworthiness of renting from this property and it's owners. Amazing location that MADE our trip. Close to great landmarks, safe and quiet neighborhood and conveniently near different subway stops. Will stay here again next time! 26 May 2015 - 19:50:45

Perfect location close to Times Sq. great restaurants and markets nearby. Plenty of space in living/dining room, comfortable beds, large closets, plenty of linens, small kitchen area that could have a few extra supplies like knives and grater but lots of dishes, awesome rooftop, friendly staff. Highly recommend. Will definitely again. 13 June 2015 - 00:27:24

My wife and I stayed four nights in the condo, arriving on a Monday night. Everything went according to plan for getting keys. The building seems very secure and safe and the neighborhood was nice with lots of restaurants and small grocers nearby. The walk to Times Square takes about 15 minutes, about the same to the Southwestern corner of Central Park. The nearest subway is about 10 minutes, and riding the subway was a great way to travel (we took one taxi during our stay which was forever in traffic). We had purchased an unlimited subway pass and I discovered too late that it was also good for buses (which we could have used on multiple occasions. The condo was comfortable and could handle four or six (maybe 8) with sleeper sofas in the living room. The kitchen was well equipped and having a full fridge was nice. The rooftop is a real plus. It has tons of seating and does have a very good view of the surrounding area. Our weather in mid-Sept was great. My only recommendation for an update in the condo would be to upgrade to a king bed in the bedroom with a less firm mattress. That stated, we may not be back for a while, but would stay again. 29 September 2015 - 20:46:31

Good location for theatre-goers, but spend time working through your likely subway trips, as this apartment not totally convenient for visitors concentrating on "museum mile" or other west- Manhattan destinations. The building is good -- fairly modern, with good elevators, laundry room, gym and rooftop area, and friendly front desk who are happy to store your luggage if you are early. The apartment itself is a bit tired, with a bed and living-room furniture way past use-by date, as previous reviewers have noted. NY is tiring, and having somewhere comfy to sit and sleep is important. Kitchen looks okay for cooking until you find there is only a bread-knife for food prep and realise little thought has gone into what actually happens in a kitchen. Beware also that after you sign up, you will be asked not to cook curries, use garlic, or speak to other residents: for rhose who want certainty about what you are renting, at the time you pay up, you may wish to look elsewhere. 22 October 2015 - 16:13:39

We had a great long weekend in NYC! Loved the location of the apartment, it was comfortable and the roof top terrace is AMAZING!! The owners were super nice and helpful. They gave great tips on transportation from LGA and local grocery stores. We were able to see a lot during our stay to include: Times Square, Central Park (went running Saturday morning and then took the kids back later to the zoo), WTC (9-11 Memorial), Bryant Park, St. Patrick's cathedral, and Rockefeller Center. Even spotted Rainn Wilson!! Our twin girls (almost 5 years old) have already asked when can we go back to New York City. We highly recommend this apartment and would stay again if available. 14 November 2015 - 01:21:29

This was our 12th anniversary coming to NY for a 5 day/ 4 night "girls" get away. For the last 5 years we have been staying with Laura and Irina at their NY condo. If you want 10* accommodations then go to the "Plaza or Ritz". If you want a quiet night sleep; then stay home. But if you want a comfortable place to stay; where you will feel safe; for very reasonable rates that you will not find anywhere else in NY; then we don't think you will be sorry. The condo is clean and plenty of room. You can get around where ever you need to go by walking or go to the nearest subway station and ride. The view from the rooftop is amazing!!!! The weather was so warm for us this year in Dec. it was the perfect spot to toast our arrival to NY... The only reason we have not already booked for next year, is because we are not sure at this time if we can come. But we all hope there is 13th anniversary in our future and if we get that lucky, we will be contacting Irina and Laura to stay at their little slice of NY heaven. Laura we are so happy you got to meet Pat; "the mother of our group"; she was so thrilled with your little visit. I guess there was a silver lining to her knee being sore and having to stay in for the day to rest her leg. Merry Christmas to you both and A Happy New Year from Joanne/ Sandy/ Pat/ Judy/ Adrienne 15 December 2015 - 13:31:55

There were four of us staying here for four days. WE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE PLEASED!! We have visited the city three or four times a year for some thirty plus years and have usually stayed in the heart of Times Square in the middle of all the hustle and bustle the city offers. We adored the quiet neighborhood/location of this spot much better! However, it is within walking distance of most theaters, museums, parks and Fifth Avenue shopping! The neighborhood has many little spots suitable for any meal or just a nightcap as well as convenient spots to pick up sundries such as muffins, diet Cokes, Kleenex, etc. Besides the cleanliness and amenities, we were MOST pleased with the firm mattresses and bedding accommodations. The main room has two comfortable couches which very easily fold into bedding. No, they are not futons! Marvelous couches! The bedroom has a bed that is equally as comfortable as my $1500 mattress in my home - that was a gift! The apartment houses plenty of extra sheets, blankets, towels and washcloths! The kitchen is appointed with everything a visitor would need. WiFi was easily accessible! The four of us HIGHLY recommend this facility!! 04 January 2016 - 03:13:59

First of all, the owners were awesome to deal with and answered all questions in a timely friendly manner. Apartment was as advertised. Close to everything, clean and well enough appointed. My wife, two kids and I enjoyed 3 nights in the apartment and will do so again when visiting in the future. The roof top deck was an unexpected bonus that we were able to really take advantage of due to unusually warm weather. 28 March 2016 - 18:42:19

We stayed at the rental for four nights and had a very good time. As others have stated, the location is excellent. We were able to walk to Times Square, Central Park, MoMa, Intrepid Museum and many other places. There are plenty of great food options within easy walking distance but it's still a quiet neighborhood. The rooftop was an awesome place to hang out, particularly around sunset. The place was very clean, well stocked, and the beds were comfortable. Best of all are the owners who are very helpful, friendly, and quick to respond. This will be the first option we check whenever we come back to NYC 01 November 2016 - 17:41:52

We are very grateful for having had a wonderful opportunity of staying at your place. We came with the kids for a stay to enjoy Manhattan. Your place is centrally and conveniently located, close to many places of attractions. We saw 2 BroadwAy shows, the Theater District is right there ! BecAuse we travel with kids I was concerned about a lot of things. To my great satisfaction your apartment was very spacious and impeccably clean. The check-In /out procedure was smooth (although our kids almost refused to leave!) We loved your place and will use the first opportunity to come again 07 December 2016 - 20:11:46

Three of us had a ball in New York and a big part of that was because this place was so close to so many things. We did a guided walking tour of Central Park,The Rockefeller Center, and Radio City Music Hall.....We went to the Met Museum of Art, 9/11 Memorial and World Center,Grand Central Station, circled the island of Manhattan by boat, walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and did the High line, saw Chicago and Phantom of the Opera, went up the Empire State Building, saw the view from the Rock, went over to Liberty Island and saw the Statue of Liberty, Madame Tussaud's wax figures, The Cathedral Church of. St. John the Divine, talked to Rupert from Dave Letterman's Hello Deli ( his sandwiches were TASTY!), did two days of the jump on jump off bus, went on The Ride bus tour....and more! (in six days!) Your pictures of the rooftop did not do it justice! We loved going up especially at night for the 360 degree view! New Yorkers were friendly and always very helpful!!! Thanks for making your place available! I will recommend it to anyone I know who is thinking of coming to New York City! 22 May 2017 - 13:29:00

Absolut perfect location for a vacation in New York. Walking distance to central New York and easy acces to subway and busses. Nice and clean flat - has all you need for a weeks vacation. Many nice and reasonable restaurants in the area of the flat. 31 October 2017 - 12:04:00

Great place to stay. Close to Central Park, the Theaters & Subways! Apartment is on a street that is relatively quiet so getting Uber or Lyft is easy. Also close to different food options and pubs! Apartment was big enough for 6 adults. Plenty of linens and towels. Full kitchen with microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker and blender. Workout room and laundromat in basement. P.S. there is an extra bathroom in laundry room with soda and snack machine. Workers and doormen were knowledgeable and helpful with questions on navigating the city. Would highly recommend! 24 November 2017 - 17:23:00

We stayed here while my son ran the NY marathon. It was a great location close to times square and lots of restaurants. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. There were 6 adults and there was plenty of room for all of us. We ate out and enjoyed the many restaurants in the area. The owners were extremely accommodating as we arrived early and were able to get in and leave our luggage so we could start enjoying the sights. Our deposit was refunded promptly and we did not have any problems. The concierge staff was very friendly as well. 19 November 2017 - 01:06:00

The concierge people were very helpful and we got the keys and we were on our way. We took an elevator to the third floor, which was convenient and they had a luggage cart to take our bags up. We had a little trouble with the key locks, we jiggled it a little and got in. The apartment was pretty spacious for a one bedroom, but the living room had the sleep sofas which gave added beds we needed. The parking garage Laura recommended was right around the corner and there was another one block down from the condo as well. For the two days it cost 113.00. Not bad considering valet parking at hotels are 40 to 80 dollars per night. We used cabs, ubers, or walked to where we wanted to go. If Times Square is the area you want to be, the condo is perfect. All towels and extra linens and blankets you can find in the closet. There was plenty. Water was great for showers and plenty of amenities in the kitchen. Would recommend Laura and Irin's place for a great stay in the city. Thank you! 26 December 2017 - 14:13:00

Great, great location. This 3 words could summerize the review perfectly, thats what you are paying for.LOCATION. The apartment is great, it could be a little more affordable? YES totally, we had to pay a little more than what we were expecting to, but it was worth it. We were five in the apartment, my parents slept in the room while my 2 brothers and i slept in the living room which had really comfortable beds, the only thing i would say, is that te dinning table is rather small for the amount of people that could live here, but it was okay, we gathered together and fit tight! The bathroom is great, hot water, and nice preassure for the five of us (which in january, with 15 F (-10C) was TOTALLY NECESSARY, we never had a issue with that). Laura and Irina, were always available for any thing i would ask. As i told before, the best thing about this apartment is location. Really close to times square, the subway and central park. Half a block away you have planty of really nice restaurants to eat. ALL IN ALL, paying a little extra was totally worth it. THANK YOU LAURA AND IRINA! You made our stay really nice! 15 January 2018 - 18:01:00

My husband and I were excited about trying a NYC apartment instead of our usual hotel experience. This rental was in a good location for our needs and the front desk/doorman was clean/adequate. The apartment itself was a good size and clean enough--not spotless. The disappointment started when we got into bed. The sheets smelled like they hadn't been washed in weeks--and that whoever stayed there last left a terrible odor. It was so disgusting that I had trouble going to sleep. There was some powder in the bathroom that I sprinkled on the upper sheets and pillows. I was hoping it would help with the odor but it didn't. Honestly I'd rather the bed be cleaner than any other area of the apartment. The pillows also had stains on them and need replacing. Honestly had there been a washing machine and dryer, I would have stripped the bed and washed the sheets myself in hot water. We were hoping for a great experience but this apartment was overall a disappointment. 20 November 2016 - 20:59:00
