23 October 2011 - 19:04:13

The apartment has everything you need and more---it was spotless/clean. The most important things are that it is in a great safe location, close to Times Square, theater district, restaurants and even dance clubs! and because it is at the back of the building, you can't hear much traffic at all at night. The management team is great, very helpful... they let us store our suitcases at the gift shop downstairs after checkout-thanks a lot! Very good experience from the very first e-mail until our return... they returned our deposit right away. We would definetely stay here again, highly recomend this place!. 19 November 2011 - 21:42:43

We rented one of these apartments recently and LOVED the location in terms of proximity to everything you want to do in Times Square. Metro is close by as well! For the price, you can't get anything better! There is a bar downstairs and because our apartment faced the street, street noise was high. However, we did have to sleep with the windows open because the air conditioning did not work, so that obviously contributed. The non-working air conditioning was quite frustrating as there were no fans to help keep cool. And the heater could not be turned off, as it seemed to be controlled somewhere else in the building. The other thing to note is that this apartment is really best suited for 2 people. We had four and it was very tight. Being in New York, we did not expect a large area; however, the listing states that there is a pull out couch for the 3rd person and a twin mattress if you have a 4th. The "pull out" couch is nothing more than a thick, cotton pad. The same goes for the "twin mattress". And you couldn't put them on top of each other to make it thicker because they didn't fit without you falling off the edge :) I have to say, when we called about the mattress they promptly responded by bringing us another one. However, it was slightly bigger and made of the same material (thick mattress pad, NOT mattress). Overall, I may stay here again if I was traveling with less people. The price was great and the location was fantastic! I might also request a different apartment next time that doesn't face the street and one with air conditioning! :) Lastly, the owner was very prompt in replying to emails and getting the deposit back to me. 02 May 2012 - 03:17:25

We had a great time visiting NYC for 3 nights in the 2nd floor (Unit 1) apartment. Our biggest complaint would probably be the futon pull-out bed, which was not very comfortable and we had a hard time fitting the sheet to it. We had three people in our group and the full-size bed was comfortable enough so I think it would of been better suited for two unless they upgrade the futon. On the plus side, the location was great....soooo close to all of the action. Times Square is a block away and so is Restaurant Row, that had tons of cool places to eat and bars to visit. There is also a little store a couple of blocks away so we could stock up on some drinks and snacks to fit in the kitchen provided in the apartment. The subway was also really close so we could travel anywhere without much hassle! It was nice to be provided with plenty of clean towels, a computer with free internet and the umbrella also came in handy! We felt safe in our room since there were two doors that locked before you could even enter the building. The door to the actual apt. also had two dead bolts, which was important to us! Capri was very accomodating in returning my deposit as well, so I really appreciated her help. : ) 24 May 2012 - 21:13:55

This apartment is humble but clean and friendly. We felt very tucked in after a long day in the city--it's located very well, within walking distance of everything from Central Park to Highline to SoHo and Midtown. Deposit was returned very quickly upon checkout and everything was handled professionally--thanks! 18 September 2012 - 17:33:50

This little gem near Times Square both met and exceeded my expectations. The condo is clean and comfortable, the location is superb, and the owner (Capri) is excellent to work with. In addition to being close to Times Square and the subway system, this condo is also close to Hell's Kitchen and a number of great places to dine, shop, and be entertained. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit New York. 30 September 2012 - 03:15:38

Stayed for a three day, four night get away with my wife. The location is fantastic - in the heart of the theater district, with a number of very accessible landmarks within walking distance. The apartment is good and well worth the price - especially compared to hotels in the same area. Only items I would suggest for improvement: the desktop computer is very, very slow. Not an issue really for us, but if your a tech-person, bring a tablet; the bathroom could use a good cleaning as there was some mold in the bathtub. However, I would recommend this to a friend heading to NYC. 29 October 2012 - 01:31:58

This time we stayed in unit 1 which is on the first level at the rear and it was so much better than unit 2 which faces onto 8th Ave and is very noisy, as before everything is honest and as it is displayed on the website and the owner ( Capri ) is so easy to deal with, and nothing seems to be to much trouble for her ,, the unit is very basic but has everything you will need for your stay and is in the middle of everything only one block to Times Sq and right in the middle of the Theatre District and it is wonderful to be able to cook a meal with some veggies for a change and to be able to just jump out of bed and make some breaky in your jocks, makes life so much easier.. I would NEVER stay anywhere else if I was staying in New York again and I would recommend this property to anyone, just understand it is NOT the Taj Mahal but comfortable in a GREAT location, you can walk to everything or the subway is only a block away with free computer in your Unit and free luggage storage downstairs it has everything .. Thanks for another great stay Capri Ian 19 September 2013 - 09:02:07

Location, location, location! My 90 year old grandma and I stay for 4 nights in apt 1. There is no elevator (which we knew) but had little trouble taking the stairs one flight up. The apt is of good size for NYC and equipped with everything! The pictures accurately reflect The u it. It was also clean. The bed was comfy. There is a futon also but was not the most comfortable. More suitable for kids. Our unit faced the back so the traffic noise was lessened but it is NYC and could still be heard. After long days of sightseeing, neither the outside noise or less than comfortable futon were much problem. Times Square is only a block away as well as many theatre choices. Entrance to the red line subway is only a few short blocks away. Walking around midtown was very accessible from the apt. The double decker bus tour stop is only 1 short block away too. The owner was very responsive to my inquiries and provided full details for directions, check-in, etc. checkout is at 11:00 but the gift shop downstairs will hold your luggage in a locked room for you if you have a later flight out. My deposit was returned timely. I would highly recommend this apt (I believe there are 4 units available to rent) and I would most definitely stay again!! 14 December 2013 - 05:03:14

My husband and I stayed in this apartment in January 2014. It was very cold outside but the apartment was warm, thank goodness. We have stayed in another apartment managed by Capri in the past, and as usual, she was very helpful and professional. Being able to leave the luggage (at no cost) in the gift shop downstairs if you needed to upon arrival or before departure was huge. We enjoyed having a separate bedroom and the bed was comfortable. This place is a great value in an excellent area.Highly recommended. 17 September 2014 - 15:42:19

A very basic apartment in the best location in NYC if you want to be close to all the action of Times Square and the theatre district. Needs a little TLC but clean with basic comforts. Just a note that it is on the top floor requiring being able to get up and down 3 pretty long staircases. Outstanding pub right next door and everything else you need just a few more steps away. Good value for it's money! 28 October 2017 - 15:35:00

If you're traveling to NYC for the first time, this is a great place to stay. It's in a great location near all the Broadway theaters and 2 blocks over from Time Square. The apartment has plenty of room for 2 people as New York apartments go and, for our travel dates anyway, the rates were better than any of the nearby hotels. And Capri is quick to respond to any questions or concerns that you may have. There is a lot of street noise that you can hear from the apartment, so bring ear plugs if you're not a sound sleeper. But all things considered, I can't imagine getting a better deal anywhere with this prime a location. 10 December 2017 - 12:47:00

This apartment was a major disappointment to us. We did expect a basic accommodation for the price; however we did not expect the uncleanliness, state of disrepair and discomfort. The place was held together with masking tape (ceiling repairs, baseboards, etc), the extremely noisy AC unit was in the living area and the cool air never made its way into the bedroom, and the bed was small and uncomfortable. And this room was the better of two apartments offered to us (the first apartment they showed us was even filthier, the view was of a gross roof/exhaust vent of some kind and the place looked nothing like their VRBO pictures)! Although this apartment may seem like a good deal and is generally in a good location, we strongly suggest that you look elsewhere! 26 July 2017 - 14:14:00

Small but had everything we needed. Very clean. Let me tell you location is everything and this was just perfect. My only complaint is that it was very loud and cold. You could literally hear conversations from outside and it was cold. The shop owner came up and found the window to be open but even after closing it, apartment still cold, unfortunately the radiator is right under window so the heat is going right outside. Other than that I would consider staying again but when the climate is warmer! 28 December 2017 - 13:37:00

The apartment complex does not have a elevator. The unit was on the top in the front. It was very noisy. It felt like we were right on the street. We could hear everything. It was very drafty and the radiators where banging all the time. They turned the boiler off for a while and then restarted, but the banging continued. There where not enough blankets and when we asked for more we were reluctantly given one blanket for three people. We slept in our winter coats. We could not sleep at night. The blinds did not keep the city lights out of the room. We did not stay our last night because of all of this. I give two stars for location and the kitchen. 30 December 2017 - 15:26:00
