We spent the Christmas holidays in Zara's apartment and loved every moment! It is very large and extremely comfortable as well as being beautifully furnished in true Parisian style. The elegant decor has a patina that made us feel very much at home. The location is convenient & close to wonderful restaurants & shopping. The neighborhood is also very safe. Fernando met us when we arrived at the apartment and was very helpful in explaining things we needed to know. We try to go to Paris every year and we would love to stay here again! Merci, Zara! 09 March 2015 - 15:57:37

My daughters and I loved staying in Zara's beautiful apartment. Lovely artwork, incredible antiques and large airy rooms make this the perfect home away from home in an incredible, safe location. Fernando met us and showed us how everything worked. A delightful stay. We hope to return. 27 June 2016 - 19:06:47

Fabulous location, well equipped apartment. Bathrooms very awkward and small. Bed a bit soft too. 15 October 2017 - 09:28:00

Great location. Everything supplied, lots of extras. Only thing we would recommend is a new couch. We are older and couldn't relax in any chairs or the couch. The couch is very old and soiled. After a long day of sightseeing we would have loved a comfortable couch to relax on. We would recommend enlarging the shower and taking out the sink beside it as it isn't needed considering the other 3 sinks. Otherwise, wonderful place and Fernando was friendly and helpful. Thank you! 06 July 2017 - 22:17:00

We recently visited for 9 days as my husband was in town for business. I joined him and my sister and a girlfriend came too so we could visit the city. The apartment could not have been more perfect. I have been to Paris several times and this was by far the best accommodation experience. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood that had easy access to places by foot or transit. The apartment was well-stocked (I get frustrated having to buy basics like salt and cooking oil at other rentals) and just beautiful. Another note: we were on a train, after our visit to head to Fountainbleau (well worth the trip) and received a call from the owner telling us that my sister had left her passport and some money when we had checked out. I know it took some major effort to track us down and so appreciated being able to scoot back to the apartment and catch a later train. I don't think we would have noticed it was missing until it was much more inconvenient to retrieve. Eternally grateful. This is my favorite place to stay in Paris ever and hope to return. 27 June 2017 - 00:04:00

The property was lovely and perfect for our family of four. It was our first time in Paris as a family and the place was so chic and quaint! The home had two bathrooms which is great to have especially with two daughters! The neighborhood is very safe and within walking distance to Musee DOrsay and Rodin which weee one of our favorite places to visit. 25 November 2017 - 13:06:00

Spent six weeks in this wonderful apartment earlier this year. Fully equipped, very comfortable. Plenty of heat and very quiet. Lovingly decorated and a delight in which to entertain friends or simply to relax in after a day of touring Paris. Modern bath with double sink guaranteed to please any American. Property manager responsive within hours to any issues (only two new light bulbs). Hard to overvalue the location. It a minute's walk from the Hotel Matignon which guarantees high security. Ten minutes to the d'Orsay, 20 to the Louvre, Blvd. St. Germain just down the street. Look forward to returning next year to this gem in the heart of Paris. It's a find. 14 April 2017 - 16:56:00

My husband, adult son and I spent six nights including Christmas Eve and Christmas night at Zara's lovely flat. Zara very nicely had a bottle of red wine awaiting us to celebrate Christmas. The flat is spacious and very comfortable. My husband and I took the master bedroom with an American queen sized bed with en suite bathroom that included a shower and sink. The WC is off the hallway next to the full bath that our son used. His bedroom included a comfortable sofa bed and quite a bit of shelving for clothes. It also had a huge storage of sheets, blankets, extra pillows, terry bath robes, etc. The master bedroom did not have drawers for clothing or a closet for hanging clothes--the closet is just outside the master. The kitchen, which we used only for two breakfasts, was very nice and well stocked. Be sure to check inside the refrigerator before buying groceries as it contained butter, milk, jam, cheeses, etc. The weather was quite warm to [email protected] 55 degrees F, and we did not need much heat but weren't sure how to deal with the radiators, so we turned them way down. Zara was quite correct that taxi transportation to and from CDG is highly reliable. It was 55 Euros from CDG and 62 Euros from the flat. Some restaurants that I'd highly recommend are Les Antiquaries (very near the flat); D'Chez Eux; Le Violon d'ingres; Au Bougnat (near Notre Dame); and, Cafe Daguerre (near the Catacombs). It was very quiet in the flat and on the street which we all appreciated. Thank you, Zara. We would definitely stay in your flat. again. 29 December 2016 - 20:21:00

This past November, the girls in my family chose to visit Paris for Thanksgiving. We came across Zara's apartment here on VRBO. This was a blessing from the start. To begin, Zara was great to work with. When we arrived, we were greeted by Fernando who gave us a thorough explanation of the various appliances in the apartment. We ran into questions and called Fernando and he called us back promptly to explain things to us. The apartment was located in a perfect area of Paris. It was safe and so easy to get around the city. There were Metros fairly close by. The grocery store was about 4 blocks away. Everything we needed was handy. The apartment itself had such character. We totally felt that we were in immersed in Paris culture staying here. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Just something to be aware of...the bed in the second bedroom is a pullout sofa bed. However it was an incredibly comfortable bed so no worries there. There was plenty of room for all four of us. We never felt on croweded. In fact, at times we couldn't find each other in the apartment which made for lots of laughs. The washer/dryer was very handy. We didn't have to bring a lot of clothes with us. And it made a great starting point for each day's activities. We have so many wonderful memories of our nine days in Paris. We will never forget our moments here. This apartment played a role in providing the perfect setting for our adventure. Thank you Zara for the chance to stay at your place. We hope to return someday soon to visit and stay again. 24 March 2014 - 18:55:48

My husband and I, along with two friends, rented Zara's apartment recently. First of all, there could not be a safer neighborhood. Just around the corner from the Prime Minister's residence, police were always at the corner. We had lots of room; we were not crowded with four people sharing the apartment. The kitchen was great; it had everything we needed, including a large refrigerator and a diswasher. We loved the Nespresso machine. There is a Nespresso store nearby for refills. The washing machine worked beautifully. Fernando, Zara's apartment caretaker, met us at the apartment. He showed us how to get on the wi-fi, operate the TV, and all the other things we needed to know, including the closest grocery, bakery and ATM. The apartment is full of collectbles, giving the residence a special Parisian feel. It is older and quirky, but we enjoyed our stay. We would rent this apartment again. I was surprised that the second bedroom had a pull-out couch, which we left as a bed for the week we were there. I obviously did not read carefully enough when looking over the description. 11 July 2013 - 19:50:17

Zara's apartment is a most charming and welcoming find in busy Paris. On a quiet street, the quiet interior is spacious and comfortable. We loved the comfortable king bed and dark, quiet bedroom: perfect for slumber after exploring the sights of Paris. The kitchen is very well stocked with good china and glassware, a dishwasher, linens, everything. We were a bit disappointed that the lovely dining room shown in the photos was blocked off from use: apparently the fireplace had some issues, so we were not able to enjoy a crackling fire as we had hoped. But for two people, we had plenty of space and comfort. And you can walk easily to all the shops on Rue de Bac and Le Grand Epicerie de Paris, one of the most extraordinary food shops ever! Not to mention wonderful shops for cheese, meats, wine, pastry, bread -- all you desire in a Paris experience. We hope to return someday! 30 December 2012 - 01:16:22

This apartment is so lovely. Zara has decorated it with antiques and art and it is just what you would want a Paris apartment to be, The bathrooms are beautiful with marble and mirrors, and practically everything you mught need is there. The kitchen, while small by American standards, has a refrigerator that is large in Paris terms. There is a great cooktop and oven, a very efficient dishwasher, and even a new LG washer/dryer combo (One machine washes and dries in one machine with one step.) Fernando was so helpful as was Zara. We would definitely stay in this apartment again ad will recommend it to our friends. With all my rave review, I must mention that this is an old apartment, and if doors don't close just right, or wallpaper is peeling some, that just adds to the charm IMHO. We had trouble with the TV, but Fernando wrote out step by step instructions for us and besides, we didn't go to Paris to watch TV.The WIFI worked great! We took our two granddaughters as high school graduation presents -- They loved Paris. The location is excellen and convenient to metro, Bon Marche, Blvd St Germain, Musee D'Orsay, everything. The girls adored the apartment and the city. They both brought laptops and were able to SKYPE their friends and family back home. 07 July 2012 - 03:17:25

We have visited Paris many times in the last 38 years. This was the best visit yet, in a large part due to the apartment and the ability to host a New Years Eve dinner for our four favorite French friends and our son who flew in from Spain. The apartment is the vision of what we think a French apartment should look like. The street is quiet, but the location is close to many wonderful lively destinations. Zara facilitated our ability to fulfill our dream. 14 January 2012 - 03:13:34
  14. I had a wonderful first trip to Paris with my best friend. The apartment was very clean and spacious and completely as described. It was so close to everything too. There was a great restaurant a few blocks away that the locals dined at it was wonderful. Zara was a great communicator and I thank her for letting us stay at her fabulous apartment. I would stay again if I ever go back to Paris which I truly intend on doing. The apartment is close enough to everything but far enough away to feel relaxed after a day in the city. There were phone numbers left for us for a taxi service that spoke English as the only French I know was "Do you speak English" so we fared quite well. Such a delightful apartment and an exquisite time in Paris. I would never stay at a hotel again VRBO.com will always be my first choice. You can trust Zara as well we had no problems whatsoever. 03 December 2011 - 01:04:15

Zara is the most delightful charming hostess. Her apartment is very much like her!! Located in one of the nicest nineteen Century building of the 7th arrondiissement, where famous French writer Andr Gide lived most of his life. The neighbourhood is quiet, airy and very close to Saint-Germain-des-Prs, about 7 minutes walk. We went and had breakfast at Deux Magots, alomost every day. That is absolutely fantastic!! Everything in the apartment is so very French. We absolutely recommend this apartment to enjoy a perfect Parisian stay . Thank you Zara for your sweetnness and all your kindness.... We will be back. 25 March 2011 - 19:42:37

If you are a couple or several women wanting to spend a delightful time on the west bank I would heartily recommend this apartment. It is just east of the Invalides area, easy walking distance of 3 tube stops, in a safe area and beautifully equipped. We found new linens, a well stocked kitchen, and wonderful living space. Only better would be a visit in the summer when the courtyard would be delightful. Although not in an area with many restaurants, there are easily available a short walk away. Markets, small groceries, bakeries are readily available. For those able it is an easy walking distance to the Eiffel Tour area. The owner Zara is lovely and has a flair for making your stay comfortable and memorable. She has renovated this apartment in a style that is impressive. Take a look at the photos and see for yourself just how lovely it is. We have already recommended this apartment to friends and family are hoping to return...soon! 01 February 2011 - 15:44:22

The apartment was the perfect backdrop for introducing our sixteen year old grandchildren to Paris. We were graciously welcomed and very comfortably accommodated in this exquisitely furnished French apartment. The arrondissement was perfect for visiting all of the high points that one must see and convenient to metro and bus stations. We all felt so "at home" and thank Dr. Zara de Saint Hilaire for sharing her beautiful home with all of us. 23 April 2017 - 16:58:00

Zara's apartment is warm, welcoming and perfect for a family of four with adult children, or two couples. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed to cook & serve a beautiful meal, or reheat the many take out foods available on Rue de Sevres. The cabinets are stocked with crystal glassware to heighten the experience of drinking fine wines or good champagne, and our 2 week stay over Christmas was made special because we were able to enjoy some meals in, with quality family time, in her home! This apartment is close to everything! There are several quaint family-run restaurants on the street that we frequented and enjoyed. It's easy walking distance to Napoleon's Tomb and Les Invalides Army Muse, the Muse Rodin, the Muse d'Orsay, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Louvre, the Place de la Concord, the Tuileries Garden, the shops & restaurants on Boulevard St Germain...plus much more. We stayed in a beautiful secure building, where even though it was obvious that we were renters, the residents were friendly and cordial to us. All in all, it was an awesome experience and a trip we plan to repeat in the near future! Thanks Zara, for such a great time!! 01 January 2018 - 15:20:00

Replete with books, family photos, and framed art work the apartment is charming and clearly owned by someone who has seen the world and led a sophisticated life. Everything clean and orderly and the owners assistant was always helpful should questions arise. There were no surprises. The location was close to everything in the 7th. 22 October 2017 - 11:50:00

This beautifully appointed apartment is our idea of Parisian elegance. We could not have been happier with our stay. The only drawback is you are reluctant to leave this welcoming environment. The kitchen works well and we often opted to eat lunch out and enjoy simple dinners at home. It is an elegant quiet neighborhood. 11 October 2017 - 06:19:00
