Canadian couple in early 50's stayed 2 weeks in this terrific flat and loved every moment. The apartment and garden is perfect as is this location. Owner Liesbeth was great to answer questions and provided terrific tips on what to see, where to eat etc. Looking forward to coming back soon. 17 June 2014 - 19:06:23
  2. We stayed in this apartment before our Holland Bike and Barge trip in May. It was a great place to stay. Very centrally located to all sights in Amsterdam. We walked all over the place from this location and would gladly stay here again. In addition it was well located to catch several different tram lines. You can't go wrong renting this apartment. I agree with others who gave this property a 5 star rating. 18 June 2014 - 20:57:38

Great location, clean, comfortable, priced right and large. Liesbeth, the owner, is a lovely person, concerned about making your stay a pleasant one. 29 October 2014 - 11:29:21

Lovely apt. on canal with easy access to major art museums. Very quiet and a great bed. We found at least five terrific restaurants within a three block walk, but you are also set up to prepare your own meals if you care to. Comfortable and homey, safe and warm. I'm just sorry I didn't have more time, it's a great city. I plan to return next year and will stay at Liesbeths apt. again. 03 November 2014 - 18:00:46

Liesbeth described her property and it location perfectly. My husband and I stayed on Prinsegracht for almost three weeks. Liesbeth was very helpful, especially by calling KLM several times on our behalf as one of our pieces of luggage was left behind in California. When she travelled her daughter was available for questions. The apartment is cozy, quiet and very comfortable. Kitchen amenities are more than adequate, and there is a washing machine and drying rack which are a bonus. Liesbeth provided additional linens and sheets for our extended stay. The apartment is set-up for 2-3 people, yet we easily entertained two friends of ours who were staying in a nearby hotel (table for eating was small for 4 people, but we managed). Also, the apartment has a small library with fiction as well as travel books and maps which were quite helpful. While the apartment is close to tram lines, Amsterdam is a very walkable city. Set off in any direction from the apartment to discover beautiful architecture, friendly people and a variety of shops and places to eat or have coffee. There is a wonderful open-air market (M-Sa) which offers breads, cheeses, meats, vegetables and fruits, as well as an array of clothing and other items. Two grocery stores (one organic) are extremely close by, as are restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. The Rijksmuseum is within easy walking distance as is the "Nine Streets" shopping area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend to our friends and relatives and would definitely stay there again. 06 November 2014 - 02:05:49

Two friends and myself stayed in this lovely little street level apartment for three nights and it was absolutely the most magnificent experience. We arrived to a very warm welcome from the owner who was always around in case of any trouble, questions, etc, which were few and far between. If you are looking to stay in a quite but very CENTRAL part of the city, this rental is perfect for you. We never had to take a taxi anywhere but to and from the aiport and still got to see absolutely everything and more because we were on foot. The front of the apartment faces a beautiful canal lined with fluffy trees, bikes, and boats that float up and down the water. The street is safe, quiet, clean, and everything you picture Amsterdam to be. The interior is cozy, warm, and spaciously laid out to give the most comfortable stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the kitchen perfectly equipped with everything you might need from scissors to coffee to cooking ware. It felt just like home and we were honestly so sad to have to leave. There is also a nice flatscreen in the bedroom, making it the perfect place to cuddle up after a long day out in the cold, as well as a nice little terraced garden in the back with outdoor patio furniture. I really can't express how lovely our stay here was, for every reason you could imagine! If you aren't sure where to stay, choose this apartment! 11 November 2014 - 19:34:51

We just got home from a fantastic stay in this lovely apartment. The owner made it all very easy for us. The place was spotless and very nicely decorated with a beautiful back yard area that we could get to from the windowed french doors in the bedroom. The location was perfect, and it was so quiet and peaceful to sleep there! Located perfectly in the middle of the city, we could walk to everything and it was always nice for a pitstop to warm up. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Amsterdam. Thank you Lisebeth! 22 November 2014 - 17:46:28

What a wonderful apartment we had the fortune of being able to spend 4 days in during January 2015. Everything is as described and what a perfect location to be in (you would not think that you were in the middle of a major city). Beautiful Canals, great local restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries and friendly people. Visit the local Dark / Light Health shop a couple of streets away for an amazing warm ginger drink (maybe only during winter?). The Prinsengracht area is certainly the place to be, you can easily walk or take the tram to just about any touristy or historical place. Also if you go to Amsterdam Centraal Station; day trips via bus to Muiderslot (Castle) and Zaanse Schans (windmills - Bus 391) and canal cruising was so simple and easy. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Amsterdam in Winter as it was cosy and warm. The whole experience was topped off by a accommodating and easy to communicate (via email and on arrival) host. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 28 February 2015 - 05:08:37

This lovely apartment was our home for three weeks - and we can't say enough good things about it. Lisbeth was a great hostess, the location allowed us to walk just about everywhere, and, when we didn't walk, we were located between two tram lines. Restaurants, grocery store, and bakery were within a two block radius. Because of our length of time in Amsterdam, we purchased a Museum Pass and came out so far ahead financially, that we would recommend this to everyone who spends over a week in town. This apartment was a perfect base overlooking a canal with a patio in back overlooking a garden. 06 April 2015 - 19:47:09

Just returned from a 5 night stay in Amsterdam. This apartment made the trip a truly "Amsterdam Experience". What more can you say than you are living on a CANAL! In a neighborhood but still had easy access to everything either by foot or tram. We spent an afternoon in the patio area enjoying wine, cheese and the outdoors quiet. Also had dinner across the street at Nels, a wonderful meal and local atmosphere. Elizabeth made the booking easy, greeted us on arrival had had us set up for a great visit. Don't look further, this is the place to stay. 28 April 2015 - 13:24:46

We stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend in the beginning of July. Although Liesbeth was going to be out of town her representative Roxanne met us at the apartment as we arrived at 10 am. We were able to leave our luggage while the apt was cleaned as the prior guest had just checked out. We returned a couple of hours later and finalized the check in process with Roxanne who was a pleasure to talk to and kind enough to answer all our questions and concerns. The apartment is located in a very quiet area on Prinsengracht which we really appreciated once we visited the busier areas of the city center. There are numerous tram stops within a few blocks and you could walk to many of the attractions if you desire as well. A supermarket is located one block away. The interior was adequate space for a couple we didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was clean and the bathroom shower had good pressure and hot water. The bedroom was a little tight on space and opened up to a backyard with a patio that you could sit and relax. The one thing that for me personally that I wish could have been a little better was the lighting in the apartment even when you turned all of them on it still wasn't enough. We did get to meet Liesbeth and her son on the day we departed and all in all it was a great stay and would definitely stay again. 20 July 2015 - 02:59:49

The apartment was clean, well equipped for our 4 night stay, the bed was very comfortable. It was as advertised. Elisabeth was very friendly and welcoming. The unit was ready on our arrival. It is located within a 30 minute walk of central station and only about 15 minutes from where most of our tours started. We enjoyed the view of the canal out the front window. We always felt secure and safe in this neighbourhood. There were restaurants, bistros and bakeries nearby. The WiFi worked well. 28 July 2015 - 13:12:44

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful apartment April 10 - 16, 2016. What a great find! Lisabeth met us upon our arrival, showed us all around, and was available if we had any questions throughout the week. The location is perfect and the apartment was just what we were hoping for. It has easy street access and is right on a lovely canal. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet, but there is plenty of restaurants, stores, pubs, and parks within easy walking distance. A grocery store is just around the corner which we really appreciated and there are some really great restaurants within a few minutes walk. Public transportation is easy to use and the tram is just a 2 minute walk. The apartment was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The little garden area off the bedroom was a nice feature and just beginning to bloom while we were there. The kitchen was more than adequate for light cooking and I really appreciated the use of the washing machine! The WiFi worked with no problems so we were able to keep connection with the family back home. I would highly recommend this property and if we ever return to Amsterdam (which I hope to do someday), we would love to come back to this location. 25 April 2016 - 17:34:58

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful two-week vacation in Amsterdam. We rented Liesbeth's cosy one-bedroom apartment which greatly added to our enjoyment of this particular classy area of Amsterdam. We found Liesbeth to be very warm, caring, friendly and accommodating. We felt very secure and comfortable in the apartment while enjoying all that it has to offer in the way of modern appliances. The canal/street was well lighted throughout the evening/night. Having the Prinsengracht Canal outside our windows afforded us great views of the continuous parade of various-sized boats touring the canal. If you are considering a visit to Amsterdam and plan to rent an apartment, have no hesitation about renting from Liesbeth. 03 October 2016 - 23:55:48

This review is a bit late after our stay, but if you have the chance to stay at Liesbeth's place in Amsterdam you won't be disappointed! It's a perfect location, great stores in the area, perfect walking distance to so much in Amsterdam, and the place itself makes you feel like home. Liesbeth is a wonderful host, the back yard is amazing, we will definitely go back and stay on our next trip to Amsterdam. 13 November 2016 - 13:01:33

Located within walking distance to the museums, we enjoyed our winter's stay in this cozy apartment. Liesbeth was there to greet us and orient us to the neighborhood. Plenty of hot water and heat warmed us after the cold days of touring. 25 February 2017 - 15:11:00

My husband and I rented Liesbeth's vacation apartment for a week in September. The apartment was spotless and it had everything we needed for our short stay. I especially loved the splash of red bedding and pillows that adorned the bed, where we would lay our heads at the end of the busy days! I simply could not take enough photos of the canal and the boats from the front door of Liesbeth's home. The hub of Amsterdam is approximately a 15 minute walk and we made the decision earlier rather than later, to put our legs to the test and enjoy all that the city had to offer and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful visit with Liesbeth during our stay. She was very friendly, kind and helpful in making our stay the very best it could be. She called a taxi for us the night before we left Amsterdam, which gave us some peace of mind. Thank you for a delightful week Liesbeth. 06 October 2016 - 17:41:16

Well, the fact that this was my 11th year at this flat speaks volumes! It has become home for me. It is in a beautiful residential area and within walking distance of so many, many places. The view out your living room windows of the canal traffic is wonderful. I cannot imagine "living" any place else in AMS. Try it,and you, too will love it. Liesbeth is warm and welcoming. You couldn't do better than to stay here. 03 September 2015 - 17:13:53

We stayed 4 days in this apartment and we really enjoyed it. It is exactly as described and the pictures show. It was very clean and the garden is the perfect place to have a glass of wine after a long day. It is close to all the nice places and restaurants. We'd stay there again! Thank you, Liesbeth! 21 August 2017 - 09:50:00
