I was so blessed to stay here with my husband in March 2014. It is a very safe area & extremely convenient to the Museums, shopping & close to transport. The apartment was clean & warm (necessary for the freezing outside temperatures). Also the apartment was decorated beautifully by someone with an artistic eye which made you feel at home the moment you walk in the door. Vir was very welcoming after a 33 hour flight & transfers from Sydney-Australia. He had the apt. warm, ready & waiting for us when he said he would be with kind words of New York hospitality. He made sure we had everything we needed. Vir also had the necessities in the cupboard & fridge so that we had food for breakfast & able to have a nice cup of tea/coffee after our long journey. The bed was very comfortable with quality sheets & towels. The kitchen is small but all we needed. Didn't use the dishwasher, just washed by hand. Great having a lift in the building. I was actually very sick from day 4 of my 3 week holiday & was very thankful for CityMD on 69th St, it was efficient, hygienic, excellent medical staff with only a 5 minute wait (a great one for your occupants information book Vir). I spent 90% of my time in the apartment because of this. Blessed & thankful for such a central, warm & comfortable apartment. The very best recommendation i can give is that if I return to New York, then i would stay at Vir's apartment again. 08 May 2014 - 11:59:49

A pleasant, simple, well-equipped, clean studio apartment. Vir is a pro and follows through. Apartment is about 500 feet from the Students Gate, the nearest entrance to Central Park. Located in the Upper East Side, an area of wealth and privilege, I always felt safe. The apartment faces 66th St., one of four transverse roads that cross the Park. As a result, there is quite a bit of rush hour traffic and taxis communicating via car horn. The immediate area, within about three blocks, is almost exclusively residential, therefore there are few restaurants and no grocery stores. Beyond that range there is plenty to choose from. This is in the heart of museum mile, one-quarter block from Fifth Avenue, located almost equidistant from the Metropolitan Museum and the Museum of Modern Art (the Whitney, Freer, Guggenheim are even closer). Such close access to the museums and the Park make the apartment a great choice for people with these interests. Central Park was active, fun and felt safe, the apartment is near the southern end where the zoo is. Pleasantly decorated single living/sleeping room, small but well-equipped kitchen, bath has a large tub and a high shower with lots of hot water, view of 66th St/other buildings across the street. Comfortable bed is about twenty inches high (so its low). Vir had the AC put in earlier than usual per my request, it cooled the apartment but was not especially quiet. Fourth floor unit, elevator never failed. Some issues with requested 1 PM check out but Vir made it work. Recommend this apartment, especially for one or two people. 19 May 2014 - 19:36:41

This was my first time staying in the Upper East Side of Manhattan and it was perfect! The location is perfect: a few steps from the park, a few blocks from the subway, wonderful restaurants nearby. You can walk to the Plaza hotel, to the Frick Museum and to the MET. The bed is super comfortable (love the sheets!) and the kitchen has everything you need to whip up a breakfast or heat up leftovers from one of the many restaurants in the area. The owner was so very kind. I highly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient NYC apartment. 02 June 2014 - 17:58:59

Perfect room for our girls getaway (2 people). Well appointed and even the sleeper was comfortable. Close to shopping and great restaurants. We loved how safe and uncrowded it was. We walked to Frick Museum, Central Park and Bloomingdales. Vir was accommodating and responsive. Of note, you must climb two flights of stairs to get to flat. 13 April 2015 - 14:50:35

I chose this apartment because of the positive reviews it had. I was right. The apartment itself is very well located over Madison Ave and it is silent since it does not face the street. The apartment has a lot of light. The description of the apartment is accurate. The bedroom is quite small and the door that heads to it does not fully open since the double bed occupies most of it, it does not have any space left except for the bed and a tiny night table. The kitchen is VERY well equipped. The bathroom is ok. Just note that there are 2 long and steep flight of stairs to get to the apartment which is located in the 1st floor. Vir, the contact, was very accommodating, always replied emails and returned calls promptly. He has a lady that will greet you and do the cleaning. I tipped her $20 as I left the apartment , she is very kind and explains everything very clearly. Internet speed rocks! 16 May 2015 - 12:43:58

My wife and I were in New York to see some shows and visit several museums. You cannot beat this location. We were close to everything we needed -- including a great deli right across the street. The living space is large and comfortable. The bedroom is tiny and the ventilation leaves a lot to be desired. There is a window air conditioning unit, but it is loud and doesn't work well. Kitchen had everything we needed, as did the bathroom. The owner was terrific -- very hospitable and accommodating of our late arrival and need to store bags at the end of our stay. One note: The pictures above are NOT the apartment listed here. The property shown appears bigger and better appointed than the property we stayed in. Based on older comments, it looks like the owner used to rent another apartment in the same neighborhood just off Madison Ave. 26 May 2015 - 20:00:24

I arrived at this apartment in the late pm & after a long days trek. Vir greeted me with a bag of welcome/getting started groceries. So I had milk for my tea when I awoke in this well lighted, clean, quiet apartment with , window which open and have greenery to enjoy. There is comfortable furniture and enough room to move around ( bedroom has a great bed , is a bit small but seems larger because of the mirror which reflects the back yard.) Spacious closet. The neighborhood has beauty all around including Central Park one block away. Good restaurants to explore and close to subway & bus. I would return in a heart beat. 09 June 2015 - 00:17:36

I'd like to thank Vir and his wife for helping us give our newly married kids a wonderful week in New York City. The happy couple was challenged by bad weather for travel, which made them overdue in arriving at the apartment. The owners were more than flexible and helped our kids get into the place upon their arrival - over a day late. Our children had a wonderful stay and had nothing but good to report about the place. The location is exceptional as they were able to walk to everything they wanted to see. Thank you again Vir & family for making our children's honeymoon trip so wonderful. -Steph & Kathy, Flora Vista, New Mexico 05 July 2015 - 18:38:51

Location, furnishings, hospitality were simply great! We were in town for family in a play, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was immaculately clean, thoughtfully furnished, and exactly what we needed. Shopping an restaurants very close, with good variety. The Met a block away, convenient to transportation. We would recommend with enthusiasm, and hope to stay there again. 23 August 2016 - 23:05:57

Thank you Vir for hosting us in your perfect UES apartment. We didn't want to leave your extremely well-appointed and cozy abode! Love your sense of style...it felt a being in a flat in Paris. The silence in the apartment is remarkable - you can hear a pin drop, literally. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and flatware, sugar and spices, etc. Communication was seamless and just all around a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Vir's beautiful apartment for a short or long term stay. We will be back! 18 September 2016 - 20:12:10

My wife and I went to NY in mid-October for a five day trip just to relax. We knew we wanted to be in the upper west or east side and near Central Park. This apartment was an incredible find. Viren was very responsive to our inquiries, booking with her was easy and she was very accommodating to make sure we could have access when we arrived late on a Friday night. The apartment was very spacious with a full kitchen including some food and spices. The bed was extremely comfortable and the entire apartment looked over a courtyard so we got no street noise. It was hot for a few days while we were there and the air conditioners worked great. We were one block from Central Park and the Met Museum of Art and close walking distance to the Guggenheim and the subway on Lexington Ave. We have rented VRBO properties across the US and in Paris and this was right at the top. I highly recommend it. The only thing you should be aware of is that it is on the second floor and the one flight of stairs is a little steep. But I am in my 60's and had no problem negotiating it. Tremendous location a 2-minute walk from the Met. Very clean and quiet, looking out over a backyard you don't expect on the upper east side. There isn't a closet or armoir. We'd prefer having an armoir to some of the other furniture. 17 November 2015 - 17:29:07

The owner was very helpful and accomodating with our arrival and departure time. Very nice flat: one block away from the museum mile : central park and 4 blocks away from metro. Very quiet (all windows giving on the inner courtyard, whereby no external noise such as infamous noisy NY firebrigade or ambulance vehicules). Kitchen fitted with excellent cooking range and a few goodies available in the cupboards (salt, oil, etc..) making it extremely easy to cook. We replenished whatever was missing. A user's guide for the TV remote control would have been handy (we could not get the TV set into working conditions, not being used to how a TV setworks in USA). Some IT stuff was left on in a locked cupboard, yielding a gentle background noise: Sofas and bed are comfortable. We would highly recommend the place 25 June 2016 - 13:33:51

This apartment on the Upper East Side is a cozy, attractive, and quiet space. It is well located for public transportation and for easy access to NYCs finest museums as well as Central Park. There are many reasonably priced restaurants in the neighborhood. Also, plenty of grocery stores, wine shops, and beautiful fashion boutiques. The kitchen space is small but well equipped. There is no space for dining and that could be improved. The bathroom is clean and adequate...typical of an older building. Vir is a welcoming and responsive host. Our arrival was later than expected and he kept in touch so as to assure us that he would be at the apartment when we arrived. We have stayed in this apartment before and have also recommended it to friends. 01 November 2017 - 14:35:00

We enjoyed our long weekend stay at this apartment. Cant beat the neighborhood! We were delighted with all of the restaurants, shops and proximity to art museums & Central Park. The apartment was clean, very nicely decorated & had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you to Vir for accommodating our very late arrival and also allowing for the late checkout. I would stay here again and highly recommend it if youre looking for a lovely stay in the upper East Side. It was magical at this holiday time of year. Thank you! 15 December 2017 - 03:31:00

Cute place. Plenty of heat in winter. Be aware there is a flight of stairs to the apartment. Could be problematic if heavy luggage. Subway near by. Plenty of restaurants. A food store in next block. Would stay again if traveling light. 22 December 2017 - 14:56:00

Great Location on upper east side! One block away from a nice run or stroll in Central Park. Tasty bakery across the street. Yummy bagels just a few blocks away. The subway is just down the street. Your on Madison Avenue, so great shopping for anyone. Last but not least...very comfortable bed! You will enjoy your stay here! 08 December 2017 - 01:58:00
