About listing

Come and relax in this enchanting Petaluma country home, 2 bedrooms, 2 bath, bright and cheerful views from any window. Melt into the recliner or nap on the couch in the living room, feel the contentment in the dining room, or sink into the chairs on the front porch, romanced by the views and sounds of country living. The kitchen comes fully equipped. The game table and chairs are so comfy you will not notice how much time you have laughed and played until the late hours of the evening. There are over 200 restaurants in charming Petaluma, abundant boutique shops, bakeries, eateries and creameries throughout the city. Check for local summer events like the Rivertown Revival (music festival in July), or the annual Petaluma Butter and Eggs Day Parade in April. La Petite Maison is equipped with a fine picnic basket and beach chairs to take to Bodega Bay, The Redwoods, Russian River, or perhaps take in a concert at the Mondavi Winery Concert Summer Series (by the way, the beach chairs are the specified height for most winery concert series). After a day of touring and frolicking, come home to this relaxing place and barbecue or play horseshoes. A wide curved sidewalk leads to the front entry flanked by landscaped front yard. With plenty of motion sensor lights, you are on a path to the best vacation ever!

My husband and I and 2 friends enjoyed a 3-night stay at this adorable little house. Very clean--10 minutes to downtown Petaluma which is a charming town with lots of good restaurants and shops. Beds were comfortable but a bit small. Bathrooms and kitchen were adequate but need updating. Kim was responsive and delightful to work with--would highly recommend for a family or 2 couples. 06 September 2017 - 17:00:00

This location was excellent for our daughter's wedding at the Chileno Valley Ranch, visiting downtown Petaluma and wineries, and a day trip out to Bodega Bay for a hike on the Bodega trails and clam chowder at Spud Point. Would recommend to anyone looking to be off the beaten path a bit. 06 September 2017 - 03:23:00

This home is clean and homey! All amenities were very nice. Unfortunately we weren't able to spend more time in the home because we were at a competition from very early to the evening. 28 September 2017 - 13:37:00

Accommodations suited our group of 4. This place was a launching pad for 3 full days in Napa region. There is so much to see and do. We will be back again 03 October 2017 - 13:16:00

We spent a long weekend with friends in this wonderful home in the countryside in Petaluma. The bed in our room was so wonderful! Perfect night sleep! The home was super clean and the owners have taken a lot of time to make it homey and comfortable. The porch is perfect for morning coffee or wine before dinner! We were five minutes from downtown and fifteen minutes from the ocean! The wineries in Petaluma are wonderful and so close to many other wine country venues! I would definetly go back and repeat this wonderful experience. 12 April 2015 - 18:55:34

This charming vacation home was so sweet and prefect for our weekend stay. The Master Bedroom has the most comfortable bed I have EVER slept in!!! Conviently close to downtown Petaluma, Bodega Bay and local Sonoma County wineries for our stay. I HIGHLY recommend this vacation rental. 12 April 2015 - 19:01:45

We came up to Petaluma for the Butter and Eggs Parade and Antique Faire. Having never used a service like VRBO, we were trepidatious. However, as soon as we saw the place we knew we were in good hands. The home is private, clean, well stocked and beautifully furnished. The bed was comfortable. Kim greeted us with warmth and many goodies for our picnic basket. The location was great, as we like quiet, but 3 minutes drive to downtown Petaluma. We highly recommend this rental!!! 29 April 2015 - 16:27:24

We spent the weekend in Petaluma to visit family and were lucky enough to stay at this sweet retreat! When you are inside the home you feel as though you are in a perfect little beach house--it is clean, fresh and uncluttered. It is the perfect spot to "get away from it all" in the country yet close to many attractions. The owners wrote the book on hospitality! Beds are super comfy. We can't wait to come back! 26 May 2015 - 11:13:06

We had a party of three that stayed five nights, and it was wonderful! The two bedroom, two bath home was more than spacious for our needs, and had a really nice porch that we drank wine on every evening. The house is situated at the front of Kim and Ted's property with a very large private yard that was beautiful and would be perfect for a small family. The place was very clean, and furnishings (including nice chairs on the porch) were very comfortable. The house is on the outskirts of Petaluma in the rolling farmland hills. It was quite peaceful, but only a 5 minute drive to downtown where there are some great restaurants and hang out spots. The location is great for wine country too, especially the less crowded, cheaper (but still world class) Sonoma region. All of this said, a VRBO is only as great as the owner. Kim and Ted made us feel very welcome, and we could not be more happy with our stay. Kim knew we would be arriving late at night, and she left the lights on, welcomed us with a personal note, and even had baked us fresh cookies for our arrival. These wonderful personal touches made us feel right at home. Kim and Ted exceeded our expectations, and we would certainly rent again if ever in the area. 03 June 2015 - 23:13:10

We spent a long weekend at this very comfortable home! Very clean, bright, airy, fresh and homey! The home was well stocked with everything we might want or need. We had wine on the breezy front porch each evening which was so relaxing and comfortable. I looked forward to coming "home" each afternoon to put my feet up! If you haven't stayed at a VRBO before and you are a bit anxious about it, have no worries here! Fabulous! 22 June 2015 - 21:32:22

The cottage was beautifully maintained and nicely located for exploring Sonoma County. Furniture and beds were comfortable and the front porch was a great place to relax. 10 August 2015 - 00:38:44

We were delivering our daughter to college and needed a place for 2 nights to recover from Move-In weekend, this house was perfect. Only a 15 minute drive to SSU, nice quiet area, beautiful furniture and well-stocked kitchen. 28 August 2015 - 00:22:07

We were not disappointed! This is a well appointed house in a beautiful rural and restful location within minutes to downtown Petaluma. Reasonably close to San Francisco as well as a short drive to both the Napa and Sonoma valleys. 23 September 2015 - 03:44:34

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this rural setting just outside Petaluma. After a heavy sightseeing schedule in San Francisco, it provided a perfect country retreat. The house was immaculate and well equipped for self-catering. There was even a picnic basket provided for our excursion to the beach. The location was ideal for exploring the coast, Napa, and Russian River. We would stay here again given the opportunity. 13 October 2015 - 13:45:24

This house sits within city limits yet peacefully off to the side in the rolling hills of the region. You are only a few minutes away from anything you need and anywhere you'll want to go in the area while enjoying the privacy and comforts of home. The living room is nicely arranged w/comfortable seating and opens up to a nice view of the scenic surrounding area plus porch w/chairs to relax and have a glass wine or cocktail after a day on the town or wherever. The master bedroom is well-setup w/both a comfortable bed and a nice chair to relax and catch the news/a game/a show on the tv back there, though there's one already in the living room too. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked and they've provided everything you'll need, including most spices, kitchenware and even complimentary bag of coffee for those of you like myself whose blood type is 70% of just that! Overall it's a great location w/friendly and attentive owners who would gladly help you in any way possible, but personally I found all their bases covered so didn't ever have reason to contact them additionally! Great place and owners, highly recommended. 23 October 2017 - 19:41:00

Attention has been paid to every detail at La Petite Maison. Artfully decorated, spotlessly clean, and completely equipped with everything we needed for our stay, including a new kitchen sink sponge and sandwich baggies for picnic lunches--2 things I almost always have to buy myself at vacation rentals. I started my days with coffee on the front porch, listening to cows and roosters waking up on neighboring farms. I usually ended my days there sipping wine. The living area is a very comfortable space, with one wall that is all windows, giving it the feel of a glassed-in porch. There is also a covered outdoor sitting area--so many choices! The home is a few miles outside of town, but don't let that deter you--there is plenty of free parking downtown, where you'll find numerous restaurants to choose from. If you like craft beer (who doesn't), visit "Taps Beer Co. and Kitchen" on the river, for a multitude of brews to choose from. We rode horses at Point Reyes, kayaked the Petaluma River (thank you Clavey Paddlesports), tasted wine in Sonoma, and hiked the trails at Shollenberger Park, where we saw a family of swans, among other wildlife. Thanks for everything Kim and Ted! 17 September 2016 - 22:01:31
