We very much enjoyed our time in this Belmar home. Kid-friendly, short walk to the beach and a splendid deck. Nicely appointed. There are a lot of stairs so may not be the best for older folks or people with any kind of walking disability. Loved, loved, loved the stove! Thanks for thinking of some many of the little things that make life at the beach more pleasant. Wish I had discovered the beach chairs earlier. Outside shower a big hit with the kids. Many thanks. Worth the 1000 mile drive to get there. 10 August 2017 - 21:53:00

Kitchen was supplied with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms very nice. Convenient to beach and restaurants. Would have liked central air instead of window A/C units. 09 August 2017 - 23:58:00

Second year staying at this terrific location, just 4 houses off the beach in Belmar. We all really enjoy the accommodations and especially enjoy our family dinners on the deck with an ocean view. 03 September 2017 - 20:10:00

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was super clean and had everything you need. Nothing beats the location being 4 houses down from the beach. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out over the ocean! The owners were great and Tina always responded to any questions I had in a very timely manner. Overall, we had a great trip! 06 September 2017 - 12:11:00

Its a 100 year old house and some spaces reflect it. It was adequate for our needs with 4 children. The upstairs bathroom really needs towel bars and a couple windows would not open. But it is a quaint place and the balcony was a wonderful place to watch the waves ! 10 October 2017 - 05:02:00

The house was in excellent condition, as described. The owner was very helpful and accommodating, clearly taking much pride in their property. The location is excellent and neighbors were friendly. 18 June 2008 - 02:14:16

My family loved this home: it was spacious, well appointed and only four houses in from beautiful Belmar beach. The house itself is beautiful, and the kitchen and bathrooms have been nicely updated. The owners provided many books and games for entertainment, the kitchen was well stocked with equipment and basic supplies, and the beach badges were an added pleasant surprise. The rooms are a perfect size, not too big and not too small and the general layout of the house is fabulous: if you have kids you can put them in the upper level rooms and then close the door at the top of the stairs: you'll feel like you're on vacation without them LOL. At night, the breeze coming off the ocean was delightfully refreshing when sitting on the front deck and you can't beat a 2 minute walk to the beach itself. Location-wise, there are several places to shop well within walking distance [7-11 was 2 blocks, dunkin' donuts 4] from the house making it very convenient. Walking into town is a bit further, maybe 6 blocks but really isn't that far. Also, there is nothing better in Belmar than having your own off street parking spot. I grew up less than 15 minutes from Belmar so I am quite familiar with the surrounding areas -- there is plenty of shopping nearby, Pt. Pleasant beach is a few minutes away for a nice little boardwalk with attractions and an aquarium (perfect for a rainy day), Manasquan reservoir in Howell for a nature hike (also has an environmental center for kids), Great Adventure amusement park (we DONT recommend the water park there, we went last year and it was the worst water park we'd ever been to), outlet shopping in can even catch a train into NYC right from Belmar if you want to hit the city for a day [or night]. Belmar beach itself is a great little beach--very clean it also has a boardwalk with a few concessions: great for early morning runs/walks/bike rides. You can also rent a boat from the marina if that's your thing. Seaside Heights has a huge boardwalk and is not that far away, and Atlantic City is even doable for a day trip. Don't forget Asbury Park if you are a Bruce fan! (what can i say, I'm a true Jersey girl). We highly recommend this lovely home. (we recommend for tourists w/out a car but in that case bicycles would be nice to have- you can probably even rent them somewhere but not sure where) 17 February 2009 - 14:44:19

We love Belmar and were delighted to find the beach block house available last August. Everything was very nice and our only complaint was the quality of the mattresses. It seems that all of the rooms had mattresses that were in pretty serious need of upgrading. 04 September 2009 - 19:24:08

We enjoyed our stay in this home. The location is really great! Walk to the beach, shopping, dining or to the train station. This home is a victorian charmer and over 100 years old. There are 2 kitchens in the house. The kitchen on the first level needs some improvements & updating. The upper kitchen is very nice with modern ammenities (shown in photo). The bathrooms have been remodeled and they are very clean. The furnishings are relaxed & pretty worn. Some of the beds are lumpy and really uncomfortable. The photos shown are only the remodeled areas of the home. Please be aware that when the caretaker turns on the outside watering hose there is NO water into the house. Lots of outdoor furniture for relaxing & reading a good book. The beach area is very nice and clean. We found an awesome restraunt at 400 Ocean called La Dolce Vita with an ocean view & outstanding cuisine. Really nice beach boardwalk to stroll or jog. This is a good home for a large family or group of people. Everyone can have their own space because the home is so big and on 3 different levels. Not a good home for elderly guests because of all the stairs & no hand rail on the front porch steps. The home was clean and the owner did stop by to make sure everything was okay. We loved the area and all the charming victorian homes in the neighborhood. 18 May 2010 - 16:01:57

Awesome property at an affordable price. Close to beautiful beach - great evening walks on romantic moonlit beach. Fun times with family gathering from CA, KS and NC - memories we will cherish. Property in great condition and owner's responsive to requests. 13 October 2012 - 16:26:25

Prime location. Plenty of storage space with bureaus and closets in all bedrooms. The place was immaculate upon our arrival and the owners were very responsive to requests. For example, they replaced the vacuum during our stay. Space is smaller than the pictures convey. Furniture could use some updating, quite old and worn looking. Mattresses are very soft. If you prefer more formal dining, the dishes do not match and could be replaced/updated. The porch is lovely and extends the living space considerably. 04 September 2013 - 13:00:27

My family and I visited Belmar as a combination family reunion/60th Bday for my Mom. The house was exactly what we were looking for. The neighborhood and the boardwalk were beautiful! Even though it was cold this time of year (early April) we still managed to watch a couple sunrises over the Atlantic in the early morning. Unfortunately, when we left, I forgot a speaker dock and iPod at the house and drove 8 hours back home before I realized it. The owners are AMAZING and worked with me to find the stuff and get it shipped back to me. Long story short... try not to forget anything when you leave a vacation house, but if it has to happen make sure it's at this Belmar beauty! Thanks for everything! 22 April 2015 - 01:36:20

Brought the family from Boston for a long weekend. We could see the ocean and waves first thing in the morning as we sat out on the deck with our coffee. Short walk to the beach. Very nice kitchen. 30 May 2015 - 15:36:03

Perfect location - a few houses back from the water but far enough away from Ocean Ave. to be quiet. The house was well equipped with many thoughtful touches from the owner. Great view of beach and ocean from the second floor deck but deck was also perfectly safe for my twenty month old grandson. Would definitely stay again. 07 July 2015 - 01:38:51

We rented The Belmar House for a family get together to welcome our first grandson into the family..We had a family dinner and we all sat out on the amazing deck with the view of the ocean...the weather was "perfect"...after the celebration my husband and I were able to enjoy the rest of our vacation time together and went for our early morning bike ride on the boardwalk. We had dinner at the Wharfside and went shopping at Wegamans and Pizza @ Pete & Ellda's and also had a chance to drive to North Jersey to see our youngest son's new house....all in all we were able to fit everything into 3 nites and the location was just perfect for our needs....the owners were very easy to communicate with and the downstairs tenants are very nice...the home is beautiful and the location couldn't have been any more perfect....The Carroll Family 06 November 2014 - 20:13:38

Felt at home immediately. The home has everything you need for your stay! So close to the beach and great for walking the boards any time of year. Short walk into town to enjoy all Belmar has to offer. Spectacular view of the Ocean from the deck to view beautiful sunrises or to enjoy any time of day. Really spacious home for families. 03 January 2018 - 15:52:00
