About listing

Built in 1898, This space sports a beautiful manicured private back yard with a BBQ grill available for use. The apartment is located on a quiet tree lined block, proposed for historical landmark, in one of the most vibrant and culturally diverse neighborhoods in The Bronx. The Bronx is the northernmost borough of New York City and the birthplace of Hip Hop. It was the night of August 11, 1973. DJ Kool Herc was set to DJ at a party for his sister Cindy Campbell. The hand-drawn invitations went out on index cards, inviting the "ladies" and the "fellas" to a Back to School Jam inside the "Rec Room" at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx. But the party got so crowded that Herc and Cindy had to take the party across the street to Cedar Park, also known as Cedar Playground. It was here, at this party, DJ Kool Herc's turntable skills, breakbeats, and "toasting" (talking over the beat) became the birth of hip hop. Located in a quintessential New York City area. Take advantage of our location by exploring the charm and diversity of our own vibrant neighborhood, and our close proximity to artistically prolific sound rounding’s. With easy access to the East and West sides of Manhattan and Babe Ruth Plaza in Yankee Village. You'll see each area offers its own unique charm, no more than a 10-15 minute walk away! The D and 4 express subways to Manhattan all stop at 167th street (just a 2 minute walk away). It's a 15 minute ride to Rockefeller Center, and 20 minutes to Union Square, and 30 minutes to Grand Central Station. There is street parking available in front of our building. Nearby Amenities: Our local grocery store Foodtown is just a 5 minute walk away on Gerard Ave, and Fine Fair Grocery store (2 blocks away) on 167th Street has the best produce. There are several specialty stores a few blocks away and Hard Rock Café and Yankee Tavern Bars and Target in The Bronx Terminal Market. Laundromat: half a block away, offering very affordable full drop off service. CVS Pharmacy: on 167th Street, just 2 blocks away. From the Caribbean jerk chicken to the hipster hang outs like Mullaly Park, the neighborhood offers diversity at its best. The selection of restaurants around our apartment is very diverse, all very affordable, and most of them deliver if you feel like chilling out for a night in. Fun Stuff.... Local Attractions!: The beautiful Bronx Museum should not be missed, just a block away from the apartment (free everyday)! Check out the free events at Joyce Kilmer Park , along with the drum circle on Sunday afternoons at 'Andrew Freeman Home' (southwest corner).

The owner was nice and kept in contact with us but failed to mention the extrem renovations to the building until after we had already paid.upon arriving the accomdations were both poor and unaccomadating .. the Rentavation were more then expected and although we were givin a code to a lockbox contaning a key .. the frount door and apartment door were both unlocked when we arrived leaving us to feel unsafe in the city area .. Unfortunatly we were forced to book a hotel elsewhere . Would not recommend 20 December 2017 - 18:02:00
