About listing

Welcome to River's Bend where you can say good bye to stress and hello to tranquility! Our home is located on a three acre lot directly on the beautiful Coosawattee River in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Leave the hustle and bustle of your everyday life to come and relax in the beauty of God's creation. Play and fish in the river by day, sing campfire songs around the fire pit under the stars and be lulled to sleep by the sounds of the river just outside your door. We know you will love it as much as we do! There is something for everyone at River's Bend! Outside, you can fish, swim or tube in the river (tubes provided), play a round of horseshoes, roast marshmallows or hot dogs around the fire pit, or relax in the six person hot tub. Inside, you can try your hand at a game of pool, air hockey, ping pong, or cards/board games down in the daylight basement. In the great room you can watch TV or a DVD or curl up with a good book by the fireplace. Upstairs in the loft, you can steal away for some quiet time reading or solving jigsaw puzzles. There is plenty of room for everyone too! On the main level, are two bedrooms and a full bath. The 'River Room' is complete with a queen-sized bed and has french doors leading out to a patio overlooking the river. The 'Bear Room' is furnished with a rustic pine queen-sized bedroom suite with a lodge/bear décor. Upstairs, the huge master suite has a king-size bed and walk-in closet. It also has french doors leading to a private balcony overlooking the river. The master bath is outfitted with two sinks, a jetted tub and a separate shower. All bedrooms have cable TV. In the daylight basement, next to the game room is what we call the 'kids den/bunk room'. It is the perfect place for the kids to relax/sleep, with a microfiber sofa and a futon and two sets of sturdy, solid pine bunk-beds. This room is complete with cable TV, DVD player and DVD library of kid-appropriate videos. There is a full bath adjacent to this room. Additional sleeping accommodations are available on two futons in the large loft, providing sleeping arrangements for a total of 14 people. The great room is where everyone gathers with a wide open living, dining, and kitchen area. The living room has two full-size sofas situated around a 55 inch LCD Smart HDTV and a stacked stone fireplace with gas logs. The kitchen is fully stocked and is very nicely appointed with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. The gorgeous imported dining table has seating for eight. Two additional persons can dine at the adjacent island/bar. Or you may choose to dine al fresco out on one of the three covered patios listening to the sounds of the river! Often, we find we can enjoy our stay at River's Bend without ever leaving the house. But there is plenty to do within the neighborhood and nearby. The neighborhood has three pools, tennis courts, and a fishing pond. Nearby, you can rent a boat at the marinas on Carter's Lake or Lake Blue Ridge for fishing, skiing, etc. Horseback riding, white-water rafting, hiking, mountain biking are also available within driving distance. The towns of Ellijay and Blue Ridge have several quaint antique shops and some 'chain' stores and several options for dining. As you can see, River's Bend is the perfect location to spend a long weekend or a week with your extended family or friends. So try it out for a truly special time. You'll find out why we hate to leave life at the River's Bend! Keywords: House/Cabin

Absolutely lovely! The perfect spot for a small family reunion. The cabin is beautifully appointed, the beds comfortable, and the kitchen is fabulous! The photos do not do it justice! The kids enjoyed the game room & tubes and the adults particularly liked the hot tub after a full day of nearby whitewater. Close to many activities, sightseeing locations and shopping ( Dahlonega is wonderful & you must try LL Beanery for coffee in Blue Ridge.) The directions seemed intimidating at first, but after the the first day we found it easy to get in and out. The driveway was a bit of a trill the first time down, but was surprizingly easy to get up and down! This was by far our favorite cabin and we hope to return next summer. 29 July 2008 - 16:24:08

Very well-maintained cabin in a very private, peaceful area. There was plenty of room and the whole family had a great time. 22 March 2017 - 19:41:00

We had our first vacation in 3 years. A family celebration for my husband's kidney transplant in November 2016. We were looking for a relaxing location to get away. We definitely found it at River Bend Cabin. The pictures do the cabin no justice it's even more beautiful than you can imagine. The drive way is definitely a little scary the first time, but you can do it. Then its gets easy after that. The deer and wildlife were very present throughout the entire day. The river is GREAT! A little hard to see through the trees (the only suggestion would be to clear the trees a little) but definitely can hear it clearly at the house. We had fun tubing everyday and listening to the other tubers. It's about a 30 min float from the launch location to the house. The game room was the best. Lots of laughs and fun were had on this vacation. We have stayed in many cabins in the past and this is by far one of the best we have stayed at. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. 06 July 2017 - 00:51:00

We absolutely loved the property. The drive way is a bit tricky, but after a time or two it was easily manageable in my Suburban. Cabin was clean as was the property. We went with our friends and their children and we all had a great time. We tubed, fished, and did a lot of porch rocking. Absolute relaxation! Thank you for sharing your property with us! 04 August 2017 - 16:36:00

This was a wonderful experience for my family. As we grieved the loss of a son, we grew closer as a family and the beautiful scenery was just what we needed. We want to make this an annual retreat!!! The nature and wildlife were incredible....it makes you appreciate life. Thank You River Bend!! 05 September 2017 - 17:58:00

We have stayed many places, but this has to be the most accommodating home yet! You can tell the owners of this home have thought of everything you will need for your stay. Great beds, well stocked kitchen, comfortable sitting areas, GREAT AC in master bedroom, fabulous porch sitting, good water pressure... and that's just the inside! So many activities for the kids and adults alike! Movies, game room, horseshoes, tubes for the river, fire pit, great place on the river for fishing and playing! We had a great weekend! If you are considering this home for a large group or multiple families, this is it! We did not want to leave and we hope to return! 28 September 2017 - 01:27:00

Our family is in love with River's Bend. Everyone from adults to kids had an amazing time. We enjoyed the cabin, the river, the deer, the neighborhood and the privacy. Our kid's favorite thing was being able to tube on the river everyday, right from the backyard. We would come back every year! 02 May 2011 - 18:03:15

Wonderful! This cabin and property is amazing. There is everything that you could want. It was so nice to just walk down to the river at the edge of the property and go tubing. We had a wonderful time around the fire pit in the evening. We would love to come back again and again. Thanks for letting us enjoy your beautiful cabin! 29 July 2011 - 12:42:16
  10. Thank you so much for providing the PERFECT home for our family reunion. I was a little stressed setting things up, since we live in Japan and were coming home to see family-----but everything went so smoothly ----it truly was PERFECT!! There were a total of 20 family members, ages 3 to 77 come in from 3 different states and absoutely fell in LOVE with this cabin, the location, the river, EVERYTHING was PERFECT. From the moment we walked in the door we felt like we were at home, there were so many little special touches, the place came to life with a very warm "WELCOME HOME" loving feeling. We played games, fished, went tubing, even dressed my grand-daughters up as fairies and did a photo shoot in the woods. My nephew is a chef and made magic in the kitchen!! Everyone enjoyed the visits from the deer, sitting on the deck in the rocking chairs, the very cool game room, and the total feeling of peace and relaxation of being away from it all. We truly made some life long treasured family memories.....thank-you again!! WE LOVE YOUR cabin!!! And thank-you for the awesome directions! Can't wait to come back again! 04 August 2012 - 05:12:08

Beautiful cabin with everything needed for a great time with family and friends. A group of 16 came together and enjoy the beautiful view of the river and trees. The firepit brought everyone together. Inside, great decor and awesome fireplace. Looking forward to do it again. Very friendly owners and easy to deal with for reservations. Enough beds to accommodate large groups. Kids loved the game run and hot tub. Just awesome :) 25 October 2012 - 20:24:07

This rental property is all that it appears to be on their website. It's very private and has plenty of room. There were 9 of us at times and we never on top of each other. The basement game room is wonderful. The only draw back to me was the VERY STEEP driveway. I was worried about how we would get to the top of the drive if we had rain and ice formed. Other than that, the money was well spent. I would suggest that they cover their firewood for the fire pit because it rained the day we arrived so my husband had to go out and get some dry firewood. All in all, you will not be sorry you booked Rivers Bend. 05 February 2013 - 03:57:03

We enjoyed our stay tremendously! Made use of all the amenities and enjoyed the easy access to the river. Of all the places we have stayed on the Coosawatee this was our favorite. Plenty of roaming room and lots of wildlife to observe. The house itself was clean, well kept and comfortable. We hope to return sometime soon! 22 April 2013 - 18:29:08

We went down to Ellijay for a birthday party weekend for our daughter and a friend, and I can not brag enough about this property. The setting is great. I even had to wait for a doe to move along before I opened the car door one evening in fear that I might startle her. The home is designed well. The basement houses all kinds of games (Pool, air hockey, ping pong) as well as 2 twin bunks (sleeps 4), a futon, and a couch. The main floor has a great room, kitchen, dining area and two bedrooms. The upper floor has the master and a loft. The water was a little cold (beginning of May) so we didn't tube, but the location is PERFECT for tubing. I can't say enough good about the property. The ONLY negative was that we found a couple bugs. I'm sure they haven't sprayed yet being so close to the beginning of the season. Everything else was perfect. Thank you for the use of your cabin. 16 May 2013 - 17:01:47

My husband and I took our student ministry group to River's Bend for a retreat. This cabin was perfect. There was plenty of room to meet as a group as well as spots for each to spend some quiet time alone. The kitchen had pots and pans large enough to cook for a large group. The boys slept downstairs (2 sets of bunk beds, futon, couch). The girls slept in the two main floor bedrooms, sleeper sofa in the living room, and two futons in the loft. We took the master bedroom (which was large enough for air mattresses or a crib if you have young children). The driveway is steep and might be a problem in the winter, but we didn't have trouble in our 15 passenger van. There were several large tubes and, at the property manager's suggestion, we brought ropes to tie them off. The only problem we had was running out of toilet paper, but a quick trip to Dollar General took care of that. We've used VRBO to rent properties for several years and, I must say, I've never worked with a friendlier owner or property manager. Paige (the manager) quickly answered all questions I had and made suggestions to help us prepare for our trip. She even allowed me to give her cell number as an emergency contact for our group's parents (which was reassuring to them). Our trip went so well that I wanted to write this review and thank her before I got busy and forgot. 22 July 2013 - 03:01:31

We had two families for Spring Break from Michigan, 4 adults and 6 children (age 3-10) and we had an awesome experience at River's Bend! The cabin itself is stunning, much better than the pics shown on the site! While it's in a resort community, the resort is huge and this is probably the prime cabin in the whole resort. Right on the river with lots of yard space for the kids, a legit fireplace area set next to the woods, clean and well-functioning hot tub, deer in the backyard, and a perfect setup for multiple families. Three beautifully themed bedrooms for each family to have their own space, plus a kids sleeping space with bunkbeds/futon to give them their own unique area that adjoins the game room. There are decks on every level where you can step out and listen to the sound of the rushing river, overall a very peaceful and relaxing experience. The closest neighbors are through the woods and you don't even notice them, it's secluded within the resort for those seeking privacy. The cabin comes with ability to utilize the resort amenities (indoor/outdoor community pools, mini-golf, tennis, etc...), and this was a nice perk as our kids had a blast in the pool. For those of you that fish, we struck out at the stocked resort pond (we could see tons of fish in there but couldn't lure any of them to bite unfortunately), though I did catch a bass wading in the Coosawattee river just upstream from the cabin (no trout in that stretch from what I understand). Families would have an easy time tubing this river when it warms up, was a bit chilly in early April for us to brave that though we did see kayakers and rafters out there. The best part about this place is the great value, as there is no up-sell from the advertised price for additional occupants, which can significantly change the price of other listings if you have a good sized group. Overall an excellent experience, and should we find ourselves again in northern Georgia this would be a must-stop for us! 14 April 2015 - 13:12:32

We had 3 families for Memorial Day Weekend! We never left the cabin, everything that we wanted was right there. The river was beautiful and the teenagers ad a BLAST tubing everyday. At night we enjoyed the bomb fire all together. Thank you for a wonderful relaxing FAMILY WEEKEND! 05 June 2015 - 11:47:32
  19. Fantastic cabin supplied with everything you might need. Had a great time tubing on the river. The river is a very short walk from the cabin, but you can hear the rushing waters. The steep driveway was scary at first, but we got used to negotiating it. Overall highly recommended. 23 July 2015 - 14:16:36
