Our home includes a main house, art/music studio and guest cottage which surround a center courtyard with a large deck, concrete dining table, lawn, pool, bocce court and olive orchard. The main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (newly remodeled in January 2015). There is a full bathroom in the hall. Master bedroom has a Cal King bed and private bathroom with dual sinks. The kitchen has concrete countertops, a country farm sink, and is fully stocked with all modern amenities. There is a breakfast nook and two person bar adjacent the kitchen, perfect for guests to mingle while preparing dinner. The kitchen opens up to the great room with living area, dining room, and gas fireplace. Living/dining room patio door opens up to courtyard with large deck for barbecuing and outdoor dining. There is a concrete table for 10 under olive shade trees, and a built-in charcoal barbecue. The separate 1 bedroom/1 bathroom cottage features wood and tuscan tile floors, full kitchen, queen bedroom, air conditioning, and a private deck/patio overlooking the bocce court and olive orchard. There is a 800 sq. ft. open studio with art supplies, stage, guitar and keyboard. There is also a ping pong table and a bocce court. The saline pool stays warm in the summer with a thermal cover. The property is located on Sonoma's East Side, complete with a rich variety of vineyards and wine tasting, including Gundlach Bundschu, Buena Vista, Ravenswood, and Sebastiani. My husband and I stayed at this home for a week and it was wonderful! The home has the three separate areas which really allows for privacy and the ability for friends/family to wake up and go to sleep at different times. The home was stocked with more dishes, containers, silverware than I've ever seen at another house we've rented. This was very nice for when we had friends with us. The pool was a perfect temperature and the ping pong table went to good use. I would highly recommend this home for families and get togethers with friends. 04 October 2013 - 01:01:13

The Villa was everything promised and more. We were 6 friends in Sonoma for a reunion and the accommodations could not have been better. It was beautiful, warm, comfortable and well supplied. Absolutely fabulous! 27 April 2014 - 21:28:01

Very nice place. Well situated relative to town with a somewhat rural feel; a very short bike ride or somewhat longer but very pleasant walk to town or to the many wineries in the area. House itself very comfortable, well equipped, and clean. Nice Tuscan design vibe. Everything was as described, dealing with the owner was simple and direct. The exterior layout and amenities were perfect for a good time, two different table arrangements in diff parts of yard, bocce court, pool, bicycles, ping pong, firepit, etc. We were three couples and it was great space to have fun together but easy to find separation. This is a good one. 08 May 2014 - 03:59:42
  4. Great getaway for three couples; beautiful, roomy, clean and well maintained. Conveniently located in heart of Sonoma wine country and near (long walk or short bike ride) Sonoma Square restaurants and shops. Comfortable bedrooms and well stocked kitchen. Great art studio, generous grounds and swimming pool. All you need for an awesome time. 12 May 2014 - 22:59:19

Stayed here for a girls weekend. We had plenty of room to spread out so we were not all on top of each other as we would have been if we stayed in a hotel. The kitchen has plenty of serve ware, glasses, plates. We did stay in a few evenings and cooked. The coffee maker both grinds whole beans or you just put already ground coffee into the filter (no k-cups). In trying to stay eco conscious, there is a bin for compost, one for recyclables, and another for trash. The bedrooms had moderately comfortable beds. The consensus was the king beds were a bit more comfy than the day beds in the "kids room" (perfectly fine for two adults in the day beds but the bunk would've been too small for adults but perfect for kids). The master bathroom had a huge tub/shower in it. Overall the main house was spacious and had good lighting during the day. We ended up not using the guest house since we all fit comfortably in the main house, so I really cannot comment on it (it's the size of a really large one bedroom apartment). The garage houses the bikes and other amenities as well as the studio, which is the perfect rec room. There is a karaoke machine there as well as some musical instruments. Perfect also for painters. The rest of the grounds had the pool, a fire pit, bocce ball court and just more property. One of the best parts is that even though you are 1.5 miles from Sonoma Plaza, it is far enough removed that you really get the wine country feel. There is a rooster somewhere near by that you hear during the day, doves cooing, crickets, we even heard coyotes in the distance at night. We walked during the day the 1.5 miles to town and it was a pleasant walk. Just on the other side of the plaza is a Vons and Whole Foods markets, in addition to Sonoma Market, so grocery shopping is just minutes away. There was a farmers market in the plaza on Tuesday evening. Great to walk to ride bikes to since there wasn't much parking available. The owner is extremely responsive and had great communication. Everyone was so impressed with the property that comments were made about a return, family vacations, and etc. at the property in the future. 15 May 2014 - 03:22:40

We stayed at this amazing Villa minutes from Sonoma for 5 nights. The house and cottage were perfect for both our families. The salt water pool was an added bonus as our family is sensitive to chlorine. We used the bikes on the property for a quick ride to town. There are also many wineries minutes from the house. I highly recommend this beautiful property if you want a tranquil retreat close to town. 21 August 2014 - 17:25:20

This house was perfect for our girls (I guess you can call us 50+ girls) weekend together. The house itself is beautiful and has everything you need- just like home. The bikes are a wonderful perk as we road into town, the Buena Vista Winery and Bartholomew Park all from the house. The pool was refreshing after a great afternoon on the bikes and in the evening the fire pit was perfect to sit around and unwind with friends and a glass of wine. The owner (Janelle) was wonderful and very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this home and would stay there again. 23 March 2015 - 17:11:20

We Stayed at this property for a girls get away and had a wonderful time. The property is large and has lots of spaces to sit and relax. We enjoyed the pool, fire pit, game room, bikes and large dining table outside. The home is clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals. The beds and linens were all very comfortable. Lovely home and all of us said we would love to go back. 02 May 2015 - 03:52:16

Our family of five adults attended a wedding in Sonoma and made a one week vacation out of it. It was great and we liked every aspect of the property, amenities and location. The pluses are so many. We made great use of the bikes and helmets and used them almost every day. The bocce ball court was used well and was great fun after dinner. Speaking of dinner, we used the barbecue and ate outside as often as the temperature allowed us. As to activities, the picnic on the town square on Tuesday night was great fun. It gives one a good appreciation for the local culture, etc. We were able to get to quite a number of wineries and many by bike. The local ones near the house that were a real nice surprise, included: Gundlach Bundshu, Ravenswood, Bartholomew and Scribe. If one is looking for a day trip, we would suggest a ride over to Bodega Bay (1+ hours). We were blessed with being able to see whales! The area is relatively unspoiled and we ate lunch at a local eatery/deli across from the docks that served up incredibly fresh seafood. The only recommendation is to note that the laundry is not available. For short stays, it is not an issue but for longer stays, there are laundromats in the area. This is a private and extraordinarily well maintained property. The location is close to town yet far enough removed and very quiet. It is well worth a visit. 01 June 2015 - 23:43:10

Our family of four (two adults and two young adults) plus another couple stayed for one week. The outdoor space is the real lure- just perfect for gathering and spending time together. The pool is lovely and the grounds are well kept and so pretty. The bocce and the pool table were great activities for everyone. It felt more like a little complex with the separate indoor spaces all facing the outside space- we really loved it. The main house comfortably fit all of us and the guest house was great for our friends. We loved the ability to walk to the square or to the little local market a few blocks away but not feeling like we were near anything when we were at the house. It was a great trip! 12 August 2015 - 00:13:42

What a wonderful Property! Eight of us enjoyed cooking in the well equipped kitchen with sharp ceramic knives and many pantry items available. The outdoor space is amazing! The outdoor dining table was used for every meal shaded by beautiful olive trees. The pool provided a cool refuge from the heat with shaded areas for those seeking it, pool towels were provided. We played Bocce and ping pong and rode bikes to Gun Bun winery. Be sure to Google directions for biking, it will take you on a route with less traffic. The beds were so comfortable and the linens very nice, I like duvets with covers that are washed. There were plenty of paper products but could have used more trash bags. A gas grill would be easier to use than the charcoal grill onsite. Janelle was always available to answer questions which could be answered perhaps with a more detailed explanation of how to work the electronics and garbage disposal (what goes where) . This home is the perfect place to enjoy Sonoma and all it has to offer but staying on the property was the real joy for us! It was perfect! 14 September 2015 - 22:30:44

My family and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving week in Napa! The home was easy to find, clean, great location to downtown Sonoma and provided a lot of space for us all to spread out and enjoy the property. We throughly enjoyed the bocce ball quart, and the keyboard, along with the ping pong table in the game room. The appliances were all updated and easy to use as well. We did not use the pool, because it was not heated and could not find a washer and dryer machine on the property, but other than that, we would highly recommend this home and are looking forward to stay again. The owner was very friendly and easy to communicate with as well. Thank you for making our week in wine country so relaxing! 26 November 2017 - 03:53:00

This is a great place to stay to access either Sonoma or Napa. We enjoyed the bocce and wished we had more time to hang around the house to enjoy the other amenities! 26 November 2017 - 20:59:00

Seven high school girlfriends (class of '74) rented this house for a girl's weekend in Sonoma in mid-November. This was partially for a fun weekend and also to support the local economy after the fires. The house was perfect for us. Warm, spacious with all the amenities. It was chilly so we didn't get to use the pool or bocce ball court, but we took full advantage of the karaoke room (especially fun after a couple of glasses of wonderful Sonoma wine!). Janelle, the owner, was great to work with. I'll be back and have recommended the house to several friends and relatives! 03 December 2017 - 17:49:00

Wonderful home. It fit our needs for a party of 6-7. Great location in Sonoma for shopping and dining. Beautiful lawn. Family room was cozy 04 December 2017 - 12:36:00

The Villa was amazing and had everything we needed for New Years Weekend. It's location is great - just a short drive from SF, with easy access to both Napa & Sonoma wineries. We're definitely planning on trying to make a trip up during the summer so we can use that pool! 02 January 2018 - 17:46:00

We came to Sonoma for a wedding in Sept. 2014 and stayed at Janelle's home. What a wonderful property! Our family of 8 adults stayed and there was plenty of room. The home and grounds were exactly as pictured and described. Oh, the pool! Thought we wouldn't have time to use it but we loved it so much we were in it everyday for 5 days! Drinks by the pool, bocce ball, the ping pong table and the bikes! We rode the bikes into Sonoma Plaza - what a fun trip. It you have time take the bike ride up the Lovall hill - lovely view. Sonoma, Glen Ellen - so many things to see, do, drink and eat. We had breakfast at Sunflower Caf, we dined at The Girl and the Fig and Cafe La Haye. The drive up Hwy 12 was beautiful and you are surrounded by wineries. We drove to Jack London State Park - what a beautiful and historic place - worth the trip. We have been to Napa (you are just a hop, skip and a jump) and we far and away enjoyed Sonoma so much more - more cozy, charming and inviting. We enjoyed the house and the property so much that we didn't even want to leave during our stay. We had the windows open and rarely used the AC. Be prepared to wake up to the neighbor rooster each morning. Sonoma's Best just down the road is a great find - lattes, wine tasting, fantastic cheese, Panini and olives - you have everything you need for a wine country picnic lunch. *We had some issues with our rental car and a neighbor around the corner was so helpful and friendly. Great property - would highly recommend it! 30 September 2014 - 21:29:26
