This Grand old house stands a landmark building in the Kensal Green Conservation area of Queens Park. Eclectically and exquisitely decorated, its antique and contemporary furnishings plus modern amenities stylishly combine the 19th and 21st century making the Georgian House uniquely suited to the traditionalist and modernist in us all. Its central location makes accessing any of London’s box of delights quick and painless. For us, the week we stayed at the Georgian House was just perfect: from the location - away from it all and yet within easy reach of bus and tube - to the lovely airy reading room and the welcoming hamper with goodies! Beautiful rooms, with nice little touches incl. wifi! Good tips from David re the best way to get to Kew and the best Thai food (really!) in town! We prefer to stay at home in the evenings and cook something that we bought in one of the many delis or food markets in the city. It was very relaxing to come back to our flat after a great day sightseeing, put our feet up and open a bottle of white wine! Also, a Sainsburys is virtually just round the corner. We'll definitely be back! 24 April 2011 - 13:32:42

Dear Laura and David! Thank you very much for your hospitality. It was great!!!! We have enjoyed every single moment. London is a fascinating city. Your apartment is so beautiful that we would have liked to stay for ever - very tasteful and stylish furnishings. Most of all very clean and tidy. The terrace is a huge hit. Sabine and I, Barbara, we wish you and your lovely family the very best. For us you are the number one in London. 01 May 2011 - 19:07:26

Hi to Laura, David and the family. Our stay in the apartment during early May was outstanding. London weather turned on a real show for us. Besides all the fantastice things we did in London it was really topped off by our stay at the Georgian House. Spacious and elegantly decorated it was a haven after long days of sightseeing. My husband was particularly impressed with the standard of the accommodation and he can be quite picky. The welcome basket of goodies was appreciated. I can only agree that the access to transport options was very handy. We were able to catch the Tube, bus No 18 or 73 into central London - gives another perspective of local life. Also the London overground connections to Richmond and Kew Gardens was just brilliant for a day out. We were also able to use this route to get to Gatwick airport when leaving instead of going all the way back into Victoria station during morining peak hour, (great suggestion Laura). All in all a great stay and would not think of staying anywhere else on return to London. 28 May 2011 - 07:10:21

Having done considerable research prior to deciding on The Georgian House, an excellent decision it was. The accommodation was perfect - so well furnished, spacious & bright, exceptionally clean, wonderful outdoor spaces. This beautifully appointed flat is unique in that it is two separate floors, one with sitting area, kitchen, dining space & bathroom; the other with comfortable lounge area, large master bedroom, ample storage & full bathroom with tub & shower. Both floors have access to the outdoors. The attention to detail makes such a difference - quality linens, towels, duvets, wonderful decorative touches throughout. This is an exceptional residence and one that the owners obviously take great pride in. Having stayed in many other VRBO flats in both Europe & North America, The Georgian House was by far the best of the lot. Laura & David were the perfect hosts, always available for advice, directions and the right answers to all our questions. They made us feel so welcome & very much at home. Thank you David & Laura for making our stay in London such a pleasure and we will certainly recommend your charming home to both our friends and family who plan to visit the beautiful city of London. 09 June 2011 - 22:10:38

Me and my husband spent three moths at Laura & David's place and enjoyed each single day. When we had to leave it felt like almost leaving home. Laura&David with their cute kids are a really pleasant couple, very helpful and a good company for chats in the evenings. The apartment was very spacious, comfortable and neatly arranged. We were surprised to find everything we needed from an iron to owen and dishwasher. We liked the big, well arranged bathroom. One very good thing was the fast traffic connection to the centre (direct bus, london over&underground). Another was the vicinity of a big supermarket. On the weekends we enjoyed walks & running at the nearby canal or Queens park.Without any second thoughts we would choose to stay at their place again. 03 September 2011 - 18:41:19

A week in London visiting our daughter and what a wonderful flat. It was perfect for us, close enough to London to easily get in and out but far enough away that we could relax at the end of a busy day. The tube was a short walk away as was a grocery and several pubs. The flat was beautifully decorated and very comfortable with everything we needed and the welcome basket was a special treat, providing not just the necessities but also the perfect sweets and treats. Dave and Laura were the perfect hosts. They were available as needed making recommendations for excursions, pubs, and cigar shops but this was balanced with a respect for space and privacy. We are already planning our return trip in the spring and have recommended this flat to friends. Thank You Dave & Laura 13 November 2011 - 02:32:37

We recently stayed at the apartment for 3 nights and it was everything we had hoped for. Beautifully appointed and luxurious. Bus stop just up the road and an underground station a further 5 minutes up the road. David and Laura were fantastic to deal with and most helpful and knowledgeable abouth the local area. If you want a great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to public transport to get there, this is the place. Only wish we could have stayed longer. 11 April 2012 - 07:15:10

My family just spent 2 weeks in this lovely apartment. The place was immaculate beautifully decorated furnished with EVERYTHING we needed for our visit. The space is BIG more than enough room for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 9 and 10. The pull-out bed in the living room + an air mattress made our visit very comfortable (for us and the kids). The layout of the apartment, with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs, was great for our family. The bedroom has a king sized bed. The bathroom is large and has a shower over the tub. The linens provided were of very good quality and enough towels, etc for our stay. The unit has a washer/dryer that does small loads very well. The kitchen is small but furnished with all you will need to cook a breakfast or a light dinner. There is a large supermarket about a 10 minute walk. They have loads of London guide books (and we added one to the library) so you can leave your heavy books home. Even though this location is a bit outside the core of the city, easy access to the underground or buses makes this place idea for those travelers without a car. You will also appreciate the calm and quiet space when you return from a long day of touring. I am afraid that this lovely apartment has ruined all our future VRBO rentals as few will compare with the quality of this apartment. Thank you Laura and David! 16 July 2012 - 16:58:52

Wow! It's been a year since we were there and I still haven't found anything comparable. We had a great five night stay. The rest it brought to us every day after seeing the sights of London was great. The pictures on the site don't do it justice - our kids loved the set up and the courtyard was a nice place to just hang out. Cosy yet large. The large grocery store is a nice 10 minute (tops) walk near a canal. The subway train is about 8 minute walk the other way and then you're heading right into London. Laura and David, you would have made good neighbours. Hope to return some day soon, David & Susan and the kids 25 August 2012 - 15:33:55

The house/home exceeded our expectations. Absolutely a wonderful refuge after a day or touring. The decor was great----modern yet with a real classical feel to it. As hosts they supply tourists with advice, Oyster cards for using public transportation, and guide books. We did not use their cell phone as we had our own phne. An added touch was the welcoming basket of "goodies" that they provided. Bread, tea, coffee, chocolates, milk, etc. so one could get by for breakfast in the mornings. One big plus was the feel of being so SAFE inside their house. Access for renters is easy but very secure. No fear for person or property existed in our mind. The tube station was close by and not s crowded one either. IWhen we return to London again and we will, we hope to rent there again. This was written by a 74 year old retired academic who used the place and was accompanied by his wife and adult daughter. The accomodations were the nicest we have ever had in our 7 visits to London over the past 20 years. Hosts are very nice people and they give you freedom yet are helpful when called upon. Advice regarding taxi fares: cost from Covent Garden or Westminster was around 20 pounds but worth it and of course cheaper from Nottinghill Gate area. Pub near by and very walkable in distance. 30 August 2012 - 15:50:22
  12. If you want to experience London as a tourist and end the day in London as a resident, this is the place for you. The owners live in the main house and are the most pleasant, helpful people you will ever encounter. They have thought of everything to make your stay easy from providing an oyster card, a computer with wifi and suggestions for local attractions and restaurants. We were there four nights and ate every dinner within walking distance from our apartment and had the best meals we've ever had from pub food to Thai to pizza to Indian. Laura and David are the perfect hosts, there if you need them and invisible if you don't. The apartment is about four blocks from the tube, so very convenient to central London. Did I forget to mention the gift basket they provided with wine, coffee, tea, cookies, chips, butter and milk? 08 September 2012 - 01:05:45
  13. I highly recommend this flat. It's a great location - close to the tube (4 blocks from the Kensal Green stop) and really near several major bus lines. There are great restaurants and a grocery store nearby. It's close to Notting Hill, Portobello Road, and Little Venice. The hosts are wonderful. They have really thought of everything that can make your stay easier and better. Plus, the layout of the space is perfect. We cooked food from the food markets a few nights and loved being able to do laundry. It's a real find and just a beautiful space. 23 October 2012 - 20:14:50

My daughter and I stayed at the Georgian House in October. A lovely, well maintained apartment with everything we needed. The welcome basket of goodies was a terrific idea. Easy walk to the nearest tube station and the bus stopped right outside the door! Close to Notting Hill and the Portobello Road market. A quiet residential area (felt quite safe coming home late at night) with nearby places to eat, supermarkets and convenience stores. Laura has thought of everythimg! Guide books, maps, WiFi and computer available. You even have public transport "Oyster" cards and a mobile phone to top up and use. Laura will answer all your questions before you arrive and gives valuable advice during your stay. Thanks so much Laura & David for your hospitality. 05 November 2012 - 06:08:56

Janet and I stayed in this wonderful apartment last November. The location was fantastic, as was the apartment and the owners. Our only regret is that we were gone from dawn til dark every day and didn't really get a chance to visit much with Laura and David and their girls. However, we do plan a return trip! 25 August 2013 - 06:18:26

My aunt and I are just concluding our 11-day stay in this lovely apartment. It is a great location in a charming neighborhood with very easy access to bus and tube stops to make sightseeing a breeze. It is so nice to end a full day away from the rest of the tourists. The owners are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area and sights of interest. The apartment itself is spacious with all the comforts of home. We would definitely come back here! 09 September 2013 - 15:30:07

We stayed at this amazing property two years ago in December 2013, and were fortunate to find this incredible GEM. Laura and David couldn't have been more wonderful to us, and stayed in constant contact with us prior to our arrival in London. The most beautiful property, hands down, that we stayed at throughout our 3 week trip to Europe. And we would stay here again in a HEARTBEAT. Beautiful, separate living quarters from the main family home--gorgeous and GIGANTIC two-story (living room/dining room/kitchen on the main floor, with bedroom, master bath, and reading loft on the 2nd floor), with every amenity you can imagine. We were treated to a beautiful food basket upon arrival, and David and Laura were available for every question we had, and recommendations/directions which were spot on. David couldn't have been funnier or nicer to us. The Kensal Green Station was a short two blocks, which made London accessible without a car. The tube is fantastic!!! We will never forget you Laura and David, and will book again on our next trip to London without hesitation. Thank you again...Gary & Brenda Shuey (and Cassandra, who is now married???) Staying in Laura's apartment was like a home away from home. Our family of three were very comfortable and enjoyed the many quality furnishings and the beautfiul daylight that came through the upstairs living area. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful hamper Laura provided for us on arrival. Access to the apartment is independent and private, yet Laura is available and close by should anything be needed, including valuable local knowledge. Public transport is very convenient to the apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in London and staying at Laura's. 08 January 2018 - 20:32:00

I haven't stayed here but through my research for my parents (who need a place right on Queen's Park, as per the map), the actual location of this apartment is actually near Kensal Green tube, not on the east side of the park. Just one to be aware of. 29 May 2017 - 11:17:00
