This place is amazing. Our family of four (two kids, 13 and 10) were also upgraded to the 3-bedroom presidential suite. Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. We were never approached about timeshares so didn't have to worry. We stayed three nights (and loved having washer and dryer) and it's only 2-3 blocks from main Union Square area. Would definitely stay here again!!!! 04 August 2015 - 13:44:13

Wasn't sure what to expect after reading previous reviews, but stayed 7 days and thoroughly loved it here!!.... Beautiful spacious presidential suite.... 2 teenage kids slept on comfortable pull out sofa with their own tv.... Loved the game room at night and movies to check out.... Loved having washer/dryer in room.... Staff very friendly and helpful with any any questions..... Great location to bars, restaurants, cable car, Walgreens and coffee spots..... Was worried about being "hounded" about buying vacations with Wyndham, but they weren't bothersome at all!!..we actually ended up sitting through breakfast presentation one morning and let teens sleep in and they paid for 3 nights parking in return....only about an hour and twenty minutes and not pushy, so worth it to us! 27 July 2015 - 00:41:50

Easy to book and communication was prompt and comprehensive. Staff was always helpful and friendly. The location was perfect for us during our 10 days. The rental is well maintained, comfortable, and was exactly what we were looking for in regards to independent travel. We even made it to the gym and the game room for a game of pool, foosball (sp?), and Wii. Laundry machines were a nice bonus because we were in our fourth week of travel. We never rented a car but we did purchase CityPass. Really easy to get around the city on busses, metro, and streetcars. The Market around the corner is awesome. We had to be at the airport super early to continue our journey, but the valet was really helpful and it was a relatively cheap option. Try to visit local parks that may not be at the top of all of the tourist options - we had a great time exploring and relaxing near and far. Several restaurants near Canterbury are great options too. Can't wait to get back! 13 August 2015 - 05:19:26

The property is a beautiful time share vacation resort by Wyndham. We had a one bedroom with kitchenette. There is no stove but if you ask, the front desk will send up an electric skillet and electric kettle. The kitchenette has all the cutlery, small appliances (microwave, blender, toaster, coffee machine), and plates etc that you would need to make a small and simple breakfast and lunch. I'd say dinner would be difficult to make with just an electric skillet. No spices (other than two very small salt and pepper shakers) or condiments are provided. So come prepared to bring your own or buy like we did. To sum it up, it's a hotel that provides you with small appliances and cutlery etc to get you by. If you are looking for a place to cook full meals, this is not the place for you. With that said though, it's a beautiful vacation resort, with very friendly hotel staff and front desk personnel. As others have mentioned, be cautious of the free chocolates and welcome package as it is an opportunity for them to do a sales pitch. When you check in, they will try to escort you to the 'concierge' desk to provide you your welcome package and orientation. I got out of it by saying I'd come back down later. Even with that they called me 10 mins after I got into my room to ensure I picked up my free chocolates and welcome package. I said thank you and politely hung up. The next day they called me again and this time I didn't pick up the phone and they left a message. It was a minor annoyance but one that I was willing to over look because of the great location and beautiful accommodations. The great thing is the room was larger than a typical 200 square foot hotel room in downtown San Francisco. The gym is great and well equipped. Can't beat the location because it's two blocks from union square. Just to note, I don't think there is a particular room that this VRBO is tied to at the resort. I think they operate like a hotel and you get whatever room is available at check in. For us we had a good size room that had modern decor and furnishings. There's free washer and dryers on each floor and they provide two packs of laundry detergent. I would stay here again despite the minor issues I mentioned above. 18 August 2015 - 02:09:13

the Wyndham Canterbury was very nice and the staff is outstanding. The room was very nice and the hotel is in a great location only 3 blocks from Powell Street where you can catch the cable car and within walking distance to union square. The only negative and not really the hotels fault is there is no nearby places to eat unless you like greasy bar type food. The choices are very limited for a good meal within a block or two and remember walking in San Fran is up and down steep hills. The best place by far close by for breakfast and dinner is Sears fine food on Powell and Sutter street however like most places including most bars they only have beer and wine so a mixed drink night cap is out. If the hotel had its own restaurant with a full bar it would be a top place to stay in San Fran. 01 July 2015 - 13:31:22

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it! It more then exceeded any expectations we had. The room had a beautiful view of the city buildings, the building itself was in a perfect location it felt safe, was far enough away from the tourist traps so it felt like you were actually staying in the city and was within walking distance to everything. Also a concern i always have is how clean the room will be and this room felt super clean! the bedding was spotless and the bedding provided for the pull out couch had a tab on it so they would know if you opened it and would intern clean it if someone had. The style of room felt new and as an added plus down by the check in they had free coffee and water as well as movies you could check out if you wanted. The staff there was super friendly and i actually never received a sales pitch luckily! This is the only place i would stay at if i come back to san fran i loved it that much, i highly recommend it! 26 July 2015 - 02:06:12

The staff was super friendly right from checking in, and using the valet. Convenient valet parking, and close to Union Square. Easy to get around. The Presidential Suite was beautiful, clean, and spacious. Great amenities in the room for a family to use. Opportunity to tour the grounds with Wyndham, but they were not pushy when I did not want to take the tour. I went with my 2 children, and had a great time. So much to walk to, and easy access to public transportation. 25 August 2015 - 01:42:13

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children loved our stay. The location is fantastic, we could walk everywhere and it's also close to cable cars, buses etc. The rooms were larger than we expected and also very clean, modern and stylish. My kids aged 7 and 9 loved the games room, especially the Wii and pool table. The kitchenette was great for breakfast, saved us having to eat out for every meal. This was a fantastic place to stay and highly recommended. 22 October 2015 - 23:34:06

My family of 4 stayed here for 5 nights. It had a comfy queen bed in the bedroom, and a pull out couch in the living room, which was fine for my daughters. The kitchen was small, with a mini-fridge, microwave, counter-space and a sink. We ate out most of the time so this was fine. The room was clean and well maintained. The location of the Wyndham Canterbury was excellent! Very close to Union Square and lots of restaurants and shops. Easy to get to public transportation. We were touring around so we took the cable cars everywhere. We booked a 3 day pass for them. It was cozy for 4 people, but we would stay here again. 25 July 2015 - 01:18:37

Stayed with my wife and two little girls. Matt Allen promptly confirmed the reservation. He then notified us that we were being upgraded to the Presidential Suite. It was an excellent experience. Having a full kitchen, with little kids, worked out great. The living room, the dining area, the two bedrooms....it was all phenomenal. Very convenient location. I ordered a surprise breakfast for Valentine's Day from Sutter Pub and it was delivered quickly. Yes, we were directed to the Concierge who doubled as their timeshare salesman. He gave us a pretty good idea about things to do and then brought up the timeshare. It's not our thing at all. We let him know. He tried gently couple of times and then let it go. Please know, there is no daily housekeeping. If you stay over 1 week, they will offer you housekeeping after a week. You can always request towels and supplies. Check out is 10 am and they are not flexible as the property is always booked. BTW.. Presidential Suite has washer and dryer in the unit. We stayed in Suite 101. It was like a home away from home. Things do get a little loud outside after mid-night as kids and rollerbladers hang out in the streets around the area. All in all excellent experience from reservation to checkout. 27 February 2015 - 04:10:40
