A home with lots of character. Close to beach, hiking and food. A great place in the trees to just relax! 05 May 2017 - 16:17:00
  2. The house was everything we wanted and more. It was the perfect mix of unique and cozy. We loved the eclectic art/decor and the landscape was spectacular, it really felt like we were a million miles away. The best part was the well stocked kitchen. For people who like to cook while vacationing this is perfect as it has little things you need, yet forget, to make a perfect meal. We will be coming back again! 08 May 2017 - 01:53:00

The place was very nice and we had great time. The only reason for four rather than five stars was the fact the hot tub was tepid at best and they had very intense, very long notes about not changing the temperature. If you can't make a hot tub hot, it doesn't work and saying you have one is false advertising. 16 March 2016 - 14:38:00

The house was great - we had four adults and one child for two nights. We were in town for a wedding and the location was great for us - very close to Perry's deli, definitely go! The house technically only has 1 bedroom, but there is a sofa bed in the living room and another small sofa bed in an office like room. The walls were a bit thin, so keep that in mind if you have a little one! The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is that the hot tub wasn't working and we didn't until we arrived, would have been nice to know ahead time. Still it's a great place and we highly recommend it. 08 August 2015 - 00:25:37

We loved this house, wonderful art and furniture, beautiful gardens. We love big, claw-foot bathtubs. We would have rated this a 5 if the bathroom and bedrooms were on the same floor. Some of the windows didn't have screens. We like to open the house up, and without screens we were afraid to let mosquitoes in. It's a narrow, steep driveway without much maneuver room for parking. Of course, we brought our F250 crew cab truck, and it was doable but tricky. Not a problem in a regular passenger car. We would definitely rent this home again. Great location, close to everything, yet you feel like you're in your own private garden paradise. We'll be back!! 15 October 2017 - 02:47:00

Your place exceeded our expectations. Loved your property as well as the Pt. Reyes area. All the amenities were great. It felt like being in a tree house and that is a personal fantasy of mine. Would love to come back. I really wanted to sleep in the screened in room but it was a little too cold. Maybe next time. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay at your beautiful home. My son and his girlfriend loved it as well. It's always a good thing. Pam 06 August 2013 - 15:39:26

We spent a lovely weekend here, pretty nearly confined to the house as it was raining the entire time, and enjoyed it thoroughly. The main area of the house is level with the surrounding trees, with huge windows and glass doors throughout, so it turned out to be a cozy, wonderful place to watch the rain -- especially the solarium. It felt like a secluded treehouse. Everything was clean, comfortable, and decorated with art of every sort. It was perfect for a couple, a few friends, or a family with bigger kids. (Not so much little kids as it would be hard to keep track of them around all the stairs and art.) As cat owners we were pleased to find the resident cats very friendly. One slept both nights with us! The place is a very quick drive from Pt. Reyes Station where we bought groceries (Marin Sun Farms, the Palace Market, and Tomales Bay Foods pretty much cover it all) to prepare meals at home. We had an excellent lunch at the Station House Cafe, also. I look forward to returning in warmer/drier weather to enjoy the beautiful outdoor spaces the house offers, and to take advantage of nearby hiking opportunities. 10 February 2014 - 21:39:49

A transcendent retreat from any city and a perfect base for exploring Point Reyes, this house is built to allow you to enjoy the gorgeous natural surroundings. It has been beautifully landscaped with flowering plants that attract a variety of birds and butterflies. The fully equipped kitchen is stocked for those who love to cook and the local produce is amazing but theres also Perrys deli and Stellinas Italian restaurant if you dont. The house is light filled and spacious, yet cozy and warm even when its blustery outside. The only difficulty we had was deciding which of the many comfy seats to choose from when we wanted to relax and read inside! The owners have lovingly decorated with pieces from their travels, local artists and great vintage findslook closely and youll find several whimsical pieces that make you smile. The bedroom downstairs is really a suite with a separate reading room, fireplace, its own entrance and quick access to the hot tub. The best surprise is that there is a second heated outdoor bed, delightfully designed and screened in for a peaceful nights sleep (or afternoon nap) by the propertys burbling creek. The two cats on the property we named them Rocky and Chubby - will keep their distance but as soon as you stop to pet them, scratch their necks and consider adding a belly rub, youll have buddies for the rest of your stay. I read another review that said they were a bother but they never came in house and my husband, who is allergic to cats, was not bothered in the least. This place is perfect for a romantic getaway or for family fun with plenty of extra beds for kids and a BBQ and fire pit to allow you to enjoy outdoor evenings either way. 19 June 2014 - 23:33:55

This house exceeded our expectations. Im a builder and my wife a designer. We were very appreciative of the efforts put into the work on this rental. A beautiful little place. Weve owned 3 vacation rentals ourselves and we often compare others to ours. Next to our luxury rentals, this was the very nicest VR we have ever stayed in. As a suggestion-provide more coffee filters than 1 per days stay. Needed paper towels, steak knives, and a supply of fire wood. These are trivial items, but, unless you cook a ribeye you can cut with a fork, youre in trouble. I cook bacon in the morning and would have been happy to find the paper towels for draining the bacon. Really, other than these very minor exceptions, we couldnt have asked for more. The landscaping was just beautiful. Way better than the pictures on line depict. We bought some firewood (overpriced) in town and had a glass of wine by firelight. Very relaxing. We will be back in the near future. A tremendous bang for your buck. Thank you Dave for meeting us and pointing us to the best oyster haunts. We tried them and you were right. Very good. 02 November 2017 - 20:16:00

what a fantastic place and perfect for our needs. The house is an eclectic mix of memorabilia and both functional and fun in its decor. The house has a warmth both inside and outside and puts you at easy. There were games and books a plenty however we could not get the DVD player to function. There are are plenty of unique sitting areas to settle into within the house and grounds where you could stop for a while. We would stay here again. The driveway is a bit steep but if the weather is dry there is no issue. The house is also private because it sits up from the road and surrounded by trees. 10 September 2015 - 14:56:41

The host David and Jack, described this house so perfectly! It was absolutely lovely and in a great location! This is such a beautiful coastline and if you have time to get oysters at Hog Island or the Marshall store--- we highly recommend it! There is also a delicious little sandwich shop conveniently in walking distance. The house has a very open layout and is tucked up in the trees-- making it feel like a beautiful, artists sanctuary. It was such a special space! Thank you for your hospitality! 30 September 2016 - 19:10:59

As former VRBO owners we have high standards of choosing properties for our mini getaway vacations. Needless to say, Susan and Jack's property meet these standards. Upon our arrival Susan welcomed us with some fresh apple juice which was very delicious. The home has a wonderful warm feeling and an eclectic feel to it with various works of art to enjoy. Although the property is located on 1/3 of an acre the home is very private with no neighbors in sight. After some hiking at North and Limontour beaches the hot tub was a welcome sight prior to cooking dinner. The kitchen is well appointed as we cooked all of our meals onsite. The home is within a 5 minute drive to Pt. Reyes Station to enjoy all that a small West Marin town has to offer. In addition, it is a short walk to the Inverness Park Market. We are already looking at our 2017 calendar to arrange another mini getaway vacation to this wonderful property. 09 September 2016 - 03:55:48

The water would not shut off. So we had to shut off at night which was very inconvenience. The smoke Alarm goes off at any random time and when we asked about it the comment was yeah that happens I dont know why. The dryer needed repair and our bread was eaten by some animal during the night. Im sure a mouse or rat. We actually checked out a day early due to the water issue 13 November 2017 - 18:13:00

We started calling it a tree house, as it sits in an upper canapy. Lots of great art and reading material to enjoy. Lovely garden and running creek. Thanks to the Kramer family! Great spot; hope to return some day... 21 November 2017 - 23:38:00

Close to park and trails. Really interesting architecture and fun art work on the walls. Very clean and peaceful. The glass room was a beautiful place to spend a rainy day - nice and warm despite the weather, and like being in the trees. 18 January 2018 - 17:20:00
