It is centrally located in a very quiet neighborhood just north of the town of Sonoma, with easy access to highway 12. Very comfortable for a small group of friends (1 couple+ 3 singles). This house was our jumping off point for visiting Napa and Sonoma, and wasn't really "close" to anything. It is in a neighborhood right off of a busy corridor, not really walking distance to much, but it was easy enough to find our way around with a GPS and car. The back yard was great and we even played croquet with the set provided. Overall, a great experience. 27 February 2013 - 20:35:43

We had a wonderful experience staying at this house; it was very clean and comfortable for a group of six. We especially enjoyed the fruit trees in the yard and the grill and seating area in the back yard. The owners are wonderful and very accommodating. We definitely consider coming back. 17 June 2013 - 22:45:23

We visited Sonoma to attend my nephew's wedding. We had 4 adults and 2 teenagers. After looking through hundreds of rentals and checking nearby hotels, we found the retro retreat to be very affordable and in a perfect location close to the wedding. We stayed for a week in order to do some sightseeing also. The house is spacious with a marvelous back patio. The kitchen was well equipped as well as a grill to use. Everything was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and within walking distance of restaurants and some shopping. We loved it. 24 June 2013 - 02:08:15

We had a wonderful time at this house....starting with the booking experience. I was traveling with my husband and two children, a 4yr old and a 7 month old. The house was the best stocked and equipped we have come across and we use VRBO for almost all travel these days. There were all the away from home amenities, even a bottle brush for my 7 month olds' bottles. The house was immaculately clean and having the space with kids and a 3 bedroom was a nice break. We had an extra room for nap times of 2 kids with different schedules. The location is great. You are close to town by bike, foot, or car. My husband and I are avid runners and we found an awesome bike path near the house that headed all the way into town and past a U-pick farm for the kids. The "house orientation book" was perfect for this. The book was full of recent menus of local resaurants, tips for picnics and wineries, and activities for kids (we checked out train town which our children LOVED!!!). The house came with a bottle of wine and great coffee too! David was amazing and honored an initially misquoted price on the place and allowed for our mishaps and nap times upon check out with our kids. A fabulous experience all in all. 28 July 2013 - 23:11:56

Family gathering for six, we all felt comfortably at home. It is very clean, savvy, updated, roomy, quiet. Neighborhood might deter some, but it is actually rather peaceful. Close to everything. The owners have obviously invested much time, thought, and effort into making this place one of exceptional quality. Wished it was mine! 07 April 2014 - 01:23:24

Home was extremely clean and well stocked for our get away week in Sonoma. The home had everything you could ask for and was a perfect retreat at the end of a long day of wine tasting. Wish the location would have been closer to town, but it was only a short drive into Sonoma for shopping and dining. Would highly recommend this property. 04 May 2014 - 19:46:17

My husband, daughter and granddaughter were attending a family wedding in Sonoma so I wanted a place large enough to accommodate all of us. The "Retro Retreat" was the perfect solution. The house is just as pictured; roomy, comfortable and exceptionally clean. The wonderful patio and yard were perfect for coffee in the morning and an impromptu barbecue after the wedding events were over. Everything we needed was provided, right down to coffee filters! We would definitely stay again! 11 August 2014 - 04:19:22

While it is plain on the outside and the neighborhood is not a resort, this house suited our needs perfectly. When you compare it to renting 3 hotel rooms in the summer for 3 nights in wine country, it's economical too. The appointments are not plush, but are very adequate, and the place is clean and well maintained. It is so very much more spacious then the typical hotel alternative, especially the pleasant patio, which is big enough for a crowd. And the flexibility of laundry and full kitchen are also great to have. Since there are both grocery stores and fabulous restaurants nearby, you can cook as much or as little as you wish. Owner Dave is pleasant to deal with too; there were no $urprises, and our security deposit was refunded promptly. It's a great spot to stay in Sonoma! 23 August 2014 - 21:40:15

Your home was wonderful to rent from it was so convenient to everything and it felt really like home. We had a lot of privacy there and especially enjoyed the deck and back garden, I played croquet with my grown sons and had a blast. Your place had everything we needed, was clean and very comfortable. Thank you. 28 August 2014 - 02:30:06

My husband & I & my sister & brother-in-law visited for a week to celebrate anniversary milestones. We cannot say enough about how much we loved our trip & this comfortable home was a major reason. We had plenty of space & everything we needed. We loved the deck/patio so much we cooked at home 4 nights enjoying the perfect weather & recently purchased bottles of wine. All of the information on the wineries was great & we loved the bottle wine that was left for us. We would definitely stay here again. Dave & Josette are great communicators, answering all of my many questions & full of hospitality! We only wish we could have met them in person. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful trip. 19 September 2014 - 01:00:04

Great house with ample room for myself, my daughter, my brother-in law and his wife. Love the patio with ample seating to enjoy coffee in the early morning. Enjoyed the short walks down to the market and coffee shop. The house was well stocked with extra. We all agreed that we were not use to the firm mattresses on the beds. But still had a great stay. Thank you 03 October 2014 - 16:43:44

This little gem is hidden away in a quiet neighborhood and will really surprise you when you open the door. The house has been opened up to create an open concept, has 2.5 bathrooms, three bedrooms and a nice shaded backyard ideal for croquet or relaxing on the patio. All the amenities were provided - even a bottle of wine! We were very satisfied with the home. The only downside was a shortage of parking but the street is quiet and allowed us to park right in front of the house. Five adults were very comfortable and would be happy to stay there again. 18 March 2015 - 12:44:07

It was as described by previous reviewers. It's clean and cute. It's located close to downtown, but far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. It was well stocked which allowed us to make breakfast with our groceries very easy. The backyard is big with plenty of seating and a grill. The only recommendation I would have is to either get new mattresses or maybe those foam toppers from Costco. I brought my own pillows, so I didn't use the ones at the house. Thank you for helping to make my birthday weekend so enjoyable. 18 September 2016 - 21:11:51

The six of us (2 grandparents, us and 2 kids) stayed here very comfortably. It is a lovely, clean and cozy home with a very spacious patio and backyard. David and Josette have thought of everything their guests may need. Sonoma plaza is a 5 minute drive and there is a very handy little grocery store that's a short walk away. Thank you for a nice experience in Sonoma! 03 December 2013 - 22:21:05

Great house, spacious and well located. There was everything we needed in the house, and we even got to enjoy a couple barbecues on the patio thanks to an unexpected warm weather in November. Quiet neighborhood. Will definitely come back next time we visit our family in Sonoma. 28 November 2017 - 03:10:00

Thank you Josette and David for sharing your beautiful home with us. It was our first time in Sonoma, we enjoyed the wineries, Armstrong woods and a trip to the coast.Your house was an easy commute to everything we wanted to explore. We also enjoyed the market and resturants in nearby downtown Sonoma. We will miss enjoying coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evenings on your tranquil and private back patio. Looking forward to another stay, Laurel and Charlie 20 March 2017 - 21:20:00
