Indeed, singer and poet Leonard Cohen is rumored to own one of the picturesque townhouses that line either side of the long rectangular park. A classic Victorian fountain is the centerpiece of the park, along with an old gazebo with a small selection of snacks. This adds up to the perfect escape; the location is ideal and the apartment is beautifully decorated and comfortably furnished and equipped with many extras such as crisp bedding, extra pillows, and a bookshelf with a nice selection of books to borrow. Highly recommended! 01 January 2009 - 06:00:00

Fantastic location and super apartment. Great layout for 2 couples or family. Well appointed kitchen with everything you could need. It is larger and better than the pictures show. Small, quiet building facing park. Easy access to main streets for shopping & dining and one block to metro station. Parked the car and never used it. Thanks Tim and Valerie...hope to be back! 15 September 2016 - 13:48:09

TJ and Val's apartment was awesome. It was very close to the Metro, Blvd St Laurent, and many, many fine restaurants. The condo itself was very well laid out. Excellent bed. Great, workable kitchen. WiFi, Blu-Ray, elevator. Amazing all around. Will definitely stay again when we are in the area if possible. Thanks so much! 03 February 2017 - 17:29:00
  4. Nice location. Extremely easy and convenient check-in and check-out. Walking distance (20-30 minutes) to almost everything we needed. One block from taxi stop was helpful as well. We comfortably recommend the place. 07 May 2017 - 15:37:00

Location is everything for this rental. It is located across from a beautiful park (Unfortunately, you cannot see the park from any of the windows because the apartment is located in the back of the building) but it is very prominent when coming and going. You can even hear the fountain if you open the windows. The metro is, conveniently, located only a few minutes away and there are many wonderful restaurants and stores nearby. We felt very safe walking in the neighborhood anytime, day or night. The apartment itself was very bright with many windows. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped to prepare meals, and it was nice to have a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, the iron did not work and the stools for the kitchen counter were meant for bar height not counter height- which made them uncomfortable for eating. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the lights over the bar, but the lights in the kitchen were sufficient. Our only real disappointment with this rental was a feeling that it was only superficially clean. There was a smell of body odor when we arrived and the walk through closet had a strong "gym bag" smell. These smells could be overcome by opening the windows and putting a few drops of lavender essential oil on a coffee filter in the foyer. The apartment was cleaned, but didn't feel like it had been cleaned thoroughly in a while. There were dirty towels in the washer when we arrived (which we washed) and lipstick residue on the wine glasses. All-in-all, we enjoyed this rental because the location was great and to sum it up; the experience was a bit like staying at someone's cabin--a little run down, but cozy. 18 July 2017 - 13:15:00

My wife and I made a two-day trip to Montreal with my brother and sister-in-law. This apartment was perfect for our needs and the location could not have been better. There is a parking garage just half a block away, so we parked our cars for the whole visit and used public transportation. The subway station too was practically across the street. The apartment itself was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again. 22 July 2017 - 23:32:00

This was my first time in Montreal and We stayed here for my sisters bachelorette party and had an awesome experience. The owner was very helpful and gave us a list of great suggestions for exploring the city which helped us out a lot. The home was very clean and we were very pleased with our stay. Upon arriving to Montreal we found the address and then getting into the place with his step by step directions was a breeze. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to book a trip to Montreal. The location was walking distance to most of the places we wanted to go. 03 August 2017 - 12:27:00

This is a large modern very comfortable apartment in an older building on a nice leafy square that features a fountain and ice cream shoppe. And it's SO quiet! Location is so convenient to restaurants nightlife and metro. I would definitely stay here again 04 August 2017 - 01:04:00

We are a family of 4 who found this apartment bright, with lots of windows and lots of room- it's huge. Finishing off some ceiling repairs and paint; a thorugh cleaning would make it 5/5. We would stay again even as it was! 14 August 2017 - 12:56:00

Our family of 3 had a wonderful time in this place. The best part is the neighborhood! Thank you Tim and Valerie. 04 September 2017 - 21:15:00

We enjoyed this apartment while we were in Montreal. It is very close to the metro which made much of the city very accessible. We didn't need to use our car once. Also there are many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. We liked the two twin beds in one of the bedrooms for our children. In a previous response the owner said there was some recent flooding due to heavy rains. We could tell some work is being done on the apartment (looked like drywall repair in a couple of areas), but we are often doing home projects ourselves so it didn't bother us. The owners are great to work with, and were even fixing the washer for us on the day we arrived. This was appreciated as we had been traveling for several days and had some clothes to wash. Thank you for a great stay! 24 August 2017 - 02:01:00

great location, easy access to metro, parking garage, quaint/cool shops/restaurants! Spacious apartment and lots of light! Had everything we needed! Only concern--washing machine didnt drain/spin properly (which may explain why some linens on shelves smelled "sour", and shower needs to be re-tiled if it cant be cleaned properly. Owner was responsive! 26 August 2017 - 18:40:00

Rent this place if you want to park your car (or never rent one) and get around on foot, by bike, or metro. Montreal has one of the best bike shares of any city in the world, and there is a station right out front. You can buy a 24 hour bike rental block for about five Loonies. Montreal's system has won praise for the density of it's bike stations, and I can see why. You can bike to your destination, stow the bike at some other station, do your thing, and then come back out to that station to get another bike. No locks needed. The bikes are super-simple, three speed things with a built-in basket and lights. Getting around on foot is likewise easy and rewarding. The neighborhood is thick with both vacation fun (restaurants, ice cream, wine shop, random shopping), but also with necessities. We bought everything we needed - from emergency pharmacy stuff to groceries to cook meals - within walking distance of the apartment. The owners have a handy print-out of where to find what you need. We even walked to the old city easily. Metro is a block away, too and Montreal has a great system. The neighborhood is safe because it's full of people: in the square, riding bikes, eating at cafes. That makes for some great interactions. The apartment is quiet because it's on the back of the building, away from the square. We like to cook, so we really enjoyed using the well-stocked kitchen, high end grill (seriously, for a rental?) and the outdoor deck. Drawbacks? We couldn't get the wireless working, but we were too busy having fun outside the apartment to care much or to put work into figuring it out, so it could be user-error. We were two couples sharing one set of keys, so we had to do some juggling when we split off. We also had to pay to park our cars in the garage by the metro. Street parking is reserved for residents during set hours, and some sides are closed for street cleaning, so instead of trying to figure out the system, we just paid for the garage. I guess you could see this as good news: the garage is just a block away. Anyhow, not a big deal, but something to consider if you are a car person and need it during your stay. 01 August 2010 - 19:02:15

You can't go wrong with this apartment. It's modern, well maintained, and centrally located. The owners are extremely easy to work with - everything can be handled via email and before your arrival they send a detailed document with all necessary instructions for using the apartment. The apartment amenities are exactly as promised (and, in fact, went beyond our expectations). Additionally, the surrounding neighborhood is full of interesting shops and restaurants and there is a metro stop a block from the apartment, giving you easy access to downtown Montreal and beyond. We loved our stay in Montreal and would recommend this property to others without hesitation. 21 November 2011 - 13:54:27

We stayed here for a week and the owner was easy to work with. We even went to their restaurant which was very close and pretty good. You definitely can't beat the location for convenience, I am born and raised in Montreal and so I know that location was great, it's 1 block from the metro and right on St Denis street with all the boutiques. The only negative was that it could be noisy at night I could hear people on the streets despite the apt being on the 4th floor. My toddler is a light sleeper so it matters, otherwise I would definitely recommend this apt. It was clean and had everything we needed as well. 23 January 2012 - 23:53:43

We just got back from four days in Montreal. We were two families: three adults and two sixteen year olds looking at McGill. We come from Boston and Princeton, and have rented many apartments and houses in the US and Europe. We appreciated the location on the square, the proximity to the Metro, the quiet neighborhood, the eat-off-the-floors cleanliness of the apartment, the owners' accessibility, easy parking (despite the confusing directions), good WIFI, good heat and amenities. This is kind of subjective, but we also appreciated the spare furnishings which made it so easy to unpack and pack. The place is HUGE, too. Here is a blog post I wrote about our weekend. Oh, and eat at Les Deux Gamins your first night. Great to just walk around the corner and chill out in the cozy atmosphere, with great service and food. 21 February 2012 - 22:37:59

We chose the apartment in part because of its location, but it was better than imagined. A park across the street, a promenade with great restaurants, and lots of shops and restaurants within close walking distance. The kitchen is appointed with everything you need (though we always ate out -- too much good food close by!) and the apartment is clean and spatious, with lots of natural light. The included parking was a plus as we wanted to park and leave our car without worry. The owner was easy to work with and we'd definitely stay here again. 31 July 2015 - 11:02:00

This was our second time staying here and we loved it again! Huge, airy, and bright apartment. Comfortable beds and plenty of seating. The location is walking distance to our favorite restaurants and this year we walked to the Montral Orchestra one night. We always bring our dog who enjoys the ride to the 4h floor in the elevator. He also likes the nearby dog park. Friendly neighbors helped us figure out the street parking and we were lucky to get a spot close by. It was just the two of us and the dog and we felt quite spoiled for space. Highly recommend it! There were only two things Id like improved. One, the shower flow intensity is fairly low but thats probably due to the building. Two, the internet is very slow, too slow to stream anything. But if you're just checking email, reading news, and the like its fine. 27 October 2017 - 12:03:00
