THE MINUTE WE WALKED IN, we were comfortable and felt at home. The pictures you show are amazing, but the actual place is above and beyond. We celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary in your home and we could not have asked for anything more. Your home was very well stocked. It was so much bigger than we had anticipated too. We never even used the 2nd bedroom and full bath. The washer/dryer was a nice feature. Loved the patio area...but the views were the BEST. We also used the Ferry to go into San Francisco both days we were there. Very convenient and didn't have to worry about driving and parking. It was about a 20 minute walk to the Ferry. Just make sure you have COMFORTABLE shoes when planning your days events. It was great to also get to meet you before we left. We will definitely recommend your place to anyone and hopefully some day will be able to return ourselves. THANK YOU! 18 September 2011 - 13:26:54

My husband and I just returned from a week at this lovely spot and it was perfect. The views are spectacular, the apartment spacious and clean and the location couldn't be better. To be able to walk easily back and forth to town, the ferry dock, and wonderful restaurants was a bonus. With Sausalito being very hilly it is nice to be closer to the main part of town. Taking the ferry to San Fran is easy and fun .Having private off street parking was wonderful especially when you can park the car and leave it. Overall we had a terrific time and the owner was very helpful and friendly. Our favourite restaurants were Bar Bocce and Le Garage as well as the Waterfront which was in San Fran near the Ferry Building. Sausalito is so well positioned for visiting wine country, San Fran and the coast and this apartment the perfect base. Visiting Sausalito is like visiting the Italian Riviera and we will be back. Highly recommended. 10 October 2011 - 21:36:00

I've been to Sausalito before, but normally we rent a houseboat. This time I decided to try something different and go with a home. I wasn't sure if it was what we would really be happy with. We planned on spending our trip in San Francisco most of our days. But, the home virtually changed our entire trip. First off, the view can't be matched, unfortunately, even the pictures above do not do it justice. Next, location, location, location. No need to use a car, your in the middle of the town. Walk everywhere. Lastly, I am quite jealous that I can't wake up in bed to the sun coming over the mountains everyday for the rest of my life. If you pass up on this home, you have made a mistake. I have rented many homes of all types on the VRBO and have never given a comment, but I felt that something must be said of our experience. 25 February 2013 - 22:05:56

My wife and I and another couple stayed in this property May 10 through May 13 and we had an unbelievable weekend! The description of the property is absolutely accurate, it is extremely clean and very well maintained. The location is beautiful and very convenient - we walked everywhere. The owners were easy to deal with and very accommodating. The pictures of the property and the views are beautiful, but will never actually do it justice - it truly must be seen and experienced. Five stars are not enough and my words will never be able to reflect exactly how amazing this place is. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful villa. We did not want to leave. 20 May 2013 - 16:01:51

Me and my elderly parents rented this property for one week in July. But to say "rented the property" is to say too little. We had the pleasure of moving into a stunningly beautiful, well-appointed, tastefully decorated, spacious...gorgeous place! As stated, the views are incrededible: morning, noon and night, 180 degrees of beautiful San Francisco Bay - with Angel's Island, Alcatraz, the city, and even part of Sausalito before you! My parents couldn't get enough of it! And the photographer in me loved it: even with summer fogs, which still made it lovely! And the Golden Gate just over the hill! We used it as our base to explore Point Reyes, Muir Woods, the Marin headlands, and, of course, San Francisco. But I loved Sausalito as well. The apartment has everything anyone could need, from wifi to washing machines, and so much more. The owners are wonderful, the experience will remain in our memories for years to come. Thank you, Allison! 31 July 2013 - 01:40:07

We were showing off the SF Bay Area to a couple from Australia and couldn't have picked a better spot from which to base our daily adventures. The views were sublime and the condo has everything needed for a comfortable stay, including cooking or BBQing great meals -- in fact, we were so content to watch the views, we didn't bother eating out and cooked dinner all 3 nights! All was in excellent repair, the furnishings were comfy and the rooms were spacious. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property and will definitely be back! 30 August 2013 - 00:52:37

We (two Aussie couples) arrived for a weeks stay of America's Cup viewing!! You always worry when you select a rental off the internet, well there was nothing to worry about here. Quite the opposite. Everything you see in the photos is what we got plus more. We could not stop taking photos the views changed constantly, different boats appeared and went. The owners were always helpful and friendly. The apartment was clean and extremely well maintained. Loved the walk down to the village and even the walk back up!! We will definitely be back in four years time for the next America's Cup. 04 October 2013 - 08:34:04

One of my best and oldest girlfriends and I just spent 3 wonderful days at this rental and we could not be happier about our choice. The owners are very helpful and friendly...we so enjoyed meeting one. Thanks again, Dana & Allison, for some great memories. The website property photos enticed us, for sure, but actually being there and seeing it.....well, our expectations were totally exceeded. The beautiful views of the Bay and The City from this lovely home are extraordinary! Also, it is in an excellent location and has all the amenities of a 'home away from home'. We felt totally comfortable & safe here. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a rental in Sausalito. It was the icing on the cake of our trip. We both plan to return and hope to stay longer. :) 21 October 2013 - 19:35:27

Four of us (adults) just spent a week at this property and had an exceptional time. The accommodations are above average and very comfortable. The location and view are over the top. Navigating the hills in Sausalito we a bit tricky but quickly mastered and well worth the effort. All rooms face the SFO bay with views that stretch from the coastline east and west about 180 degrees. At night the lights in the distance from the city and bridges are surreal. Love the open deck for evening cocktails! Dana and Allison were great hosts and quickly answered any questions we had during our stay. It was a great place to view all the July 4th fireworks from SFO and Sausalito with easy access to the ferry to the wharf and downtown. We found this to be a much better option to staying in the city since it gave us better access to Napa and Sonoma. The Poggio restaurant in the center of Sausalito was our favorite place to dine...ate their 4 times. Wonderful menu. 08 July 2014 - 17:22:17

Three generations of women, ages 20, 52, 55, 78 gasped when we walked into our destination "Villa"!!!! Truly glorious view of San Francisco, Alcatraz, The Bay. We were stunned. And it just got better. The Villa is beautifully situated... and we walked everywhere... up and down!!! and down and up!!! and even up to the Golden Gate Bridge (for the younger ones!) A note, take a windbreaker should you decide to do this... it is windy and cool. We enjoyed the "village" of Sausalito. We thoroughly enjoyed the BridgeCafe for breakfast (3x), Trident and Scoma (2x) for dinner. We took the Ferry to San Francisco and had an amazing view of "the Rock"... it really is!!! Another note... if you are interested in visiting, particularly in the Summer, make your reservations to "visit" Alcatraz as soon as possible. Solid booking during the Summer months. This is a grand place and the amenities are many. Enjoy! We certainly did. Thank you to the family for sharing your wonderful Villa. I recommend it without reservation. 14 August 2014 - 21:48:31

I normally don't publish reviews on the internet but I felt compelled to write this one for Allison and her rental. My family and I spent 5 wonderfully relaxing days this past week at 16 Josephine and it was the vacation of a lifetime for all of us. The four of us were instantly awestruck by the spectacular view the minute we walked into the house. (The photos on the website do not do it justice; you have to be here to experience it.) The place is very well maintained and spotless to say the least. It has everything we could possibly need (full kitchen, snacks, video games, magazines, travel pamphlets, etc) and more. Allison is wonderfully accommodating and quickly answered any questions we had. Her hospitality made us feel at home right away. As such we spent so much time at this house just to enjoy the surreal view and idly watch the sailboats passing by. Thank you, Allison, for letting us stay in this absolutely beautiful place. I can't wait to return. If you are planning for your next vacation now, look no further. This place is simply awesome! 28 July 2015 - 03:12:04

We stayed several nights here and loved it! The view is beautiful, the location is great (short, fun walk to the main street and easy drive to plenty of Marin County activities) and the place is spacious and clean. This is truly a home away from home. I chose to stay here based on the view, location, off-street parking and handicap accessiblity. 10 August 2015 - 10:22:31

We stayed for 3 days with our two grand daughters and their aunt who was visiting from Bali. The place is beyond expectations , spacious and clean and serene. We were in Amalfi coast in Italy this spring and I think the view from this home is as fantastic. We recommended to many friends from cold Michigan who have grand kids in the bay area. and we shall return again. 02 November 2015 - 02:46:43

My wife, along with my son and his wife, spent 4 nights in this Sausalito home, and I can tell you ... book it now! It's a spectacular vacation spot with incredible views of San Francisco, the bay, Alcatraz, the Bay Bridge and much more. From the bedrooms, the living room or the kitchen, the views are the best anywhere. And the balconies are perfect for morning or evening relaxing! The house is a short walk to downtown Sausalito, and the neighborhood is a cool, hillside (steep hills) area. Allison was great to work with ... and the house was just as promised! Awesome place all around. 07 June 2016 - 12:55:35
  15. My sister and I, plus our spouses, spent 7 days at this lovely home. Everything was perfect and views were breathtaking. We had such a grand time, that it was hard to go back home to Texas. The owners of the home were very kind and treated us like family. Sausalito is just across the bay from San Francisco, so it was easy breezy to travel back and forth. But, there is such a relaxed romantic atmosphere in Sausalito, that you may never want to venture over to SF. I highly recommend staying in this home. 16 June 2016 - 01:22:40
  16. We just left this beautiful home after staying there 6 nights! Outside the hustle and bustle of San Francisco, but close enough to go back and forth. We drove to Napa and Sonoma for day trips and it was always so relaxing to come "home" and sit on the patio with a glass of wine. Waking up early and enjoying the sunrise with a cup of coffee was amazing. I have never slept better! You can actually see the bay from the bed:) The house had everything we could have possibly needed and Allison and Dana were a text away for any questions. Downtown Sausalito was walking distance if you don't mind some steep hills or great exercise, but parking is available if you choose to drive down. Hope to return one day to do it all over again! Thanks so much Allison and Dana! 25 June 2016 - 16:59:03

We had a wonderful 3 night stay in this home in July 2016. Maneuvering our rental car into the driveway and garage was a little scary at first. There was a car in the garage and another in the driveway and the turn for us to get into the only available space was very sharp and steep. We were glad we had rented a small sedan. My husband figured it out after the first time. The roads were very steep, narrow and windy, but that's what gives the houses the great bay views! The house was very clean and welcoming. We were traveling with another couple and it was nice that the two bedrooms were equally nice. The mattresses and bedding were great. It was pretty warm during our stay, and it was nice to have a fan in the bedroom. We got a little too warm even with the fan, but adjusted the bedding and made it more comfortable. The house does not have air conditioning. The kitchen and bathrooms were a little plain and dated, but everything functioned well. The best part was the great view of San Francisco Bay from both bedrooms, the family room and the dining room. The family room furniture was comfortable, but we spent most of our time sitting on the balcony. The neighborhood was pretty quiet. We could occasionally hear others talking, dogs barking, or chairs scraping on other balconies, but not much. I would recommend this home and would love to return in the future! 29 July 2016 - 00:13:58

This is as good as it gets. Super comfortable, views to die for, and easy access with no steps to climb. We stayed for the entire month of Oct and have already booked next Oct. We had one small problem. The Direct TV did not have our two favorite programs. I texted the info to Allison, the owner. Within 5 minutes I received a return text "Try it now". And our programs were there. Before we checked in we spent two nights at the 4 Seasons in San Francisco. I thought that their service was the best.....but of course I hadn't meet Allison yet. 06 November 2016 - 22:34:17

Enjoyed our quick getaway - house was well stocked and close to town but very quiet. The views are spectacular. Hope we can come back and stay longer next time! 27 December 2017 - 16:04:00
  20. This Saulsalito home with breathtaking views will make your vacation-- you won't want to leave! Our family includes a wheelchair user, and the house is all on one level. The hallways are wide, and the bedrooms are roomy. We made the bathrooms work... Allison and Dana are friendly and easy to work with. Highly recommended! 25 August 2017 - 05:22:00
