The pictures of the home in the Redwoods are good - but being their and sitting on the front deck in the Redwoods is even better! The home is clean, well maintained, and provides all the essential needs. The location is superb. If you are healthy and prefer walking over driving, the location is ideal. My wife and I and another couple stayed in the home for 9 nights - we're all around 60 years of age. We walked to Mill Valled daily, walked trails that were easily accessible from the home, and we even walked the bike/walking trail to Sausolito. Their is a $2 shuttle bus from Mill Valley to Sausolito and a $6 Ferry to San Francisco that helped eliminate the need for driving. SF trolleys, cable cars, and buses are easy to access and are inexpensive. Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais, and Stinson Beach were very short drives. Napa and Sonoma Valleys are a bit further, but were still easily accessible by car. Brent Lok offered very good suggestions for activities in the area and is easy to access by text and/or email with any questions or concerns. We all had a great time and hope to make a return visit. 25 September 2017 - 00:09:00

The accommodations are top notch. The large porches were great. Of course having perfect weather didn't hurt. The walk into town (about 15 minutes) is surreal among the towering redwoods and picturesque properties. Highly recommended. 12 October 2017 - 15:51:00

A group of friends and I came to Mill Valley for a wedding and stayed at Brent's beautiful home. The place was spotless when we arrived ready for us to enjoy our stay. Brent was always quick to respond during the booking process and provided a warm welcome prior to arriving. I would highly recommend for anyone coming to Mill Valley. 02 November 2017 - 12:41:00

What a beautiful home nestled among the Redwood trees!! This home is beautifully decorated, extremely clean and very well organized with a warm and cozy feel. For our family of 3, everything we needed was at our finger tips. The gorgeous kitchen is very well stocked, and there were definitely plenty of bath towels to go around. In addition there are 2 very large decks that would be ideal for spring and summer BBQ's. With only a few minutes walk down a magical tree covered street, you will come upon the town square where you will find plenty of great coffee and restaurants. Muir Woods was a definite highlight of our trip and a must see to those who have never experienced the Redwoods. Taking the ferry from Sausalito to San Francisco made visiting the big city much easier and hassle free. This was a trip we will remember for a very long time! 21 November 2014 - 06:34:24

If you are looking for a nice getaway that is the perfect distance to SF, Muir Woods, Tennessee Valley, and Mt. Tam, search no further. My family and I stayed here over the thanksgiving holidays and it suited our needs perfectly. This is a wonderful house that has three spacious bedrooms and a well equipped kitchen. The dining table was large enough for 6 adults for our thanksgiving feast. We loved spending the chill fall nights in front of the fireplace. Mill valley is a nice 10 minute walk away which we did every morning for some coffee and pastries at one of the local shops. The owners, Brent and Wade, provided a thorough welcome manual, instructions for the house, and were very available should anything have come up. Can't wait to come back next time! 01 December 2014 - 03:38:07

We were fortunate enough to spend an entire month in this lovely home in its magnificent setting. It is actually located in a grove of redwood trees which we were able to enjoy from the deck, the patio and every window. The house itself is charming and nicely laid out with the bedrooms in one wing and the kitchen and living areas opening to each other. Brent and Wade have furnished the house with much attention to detail. The kitchen is amply stocked with all the items necessary for cooking and baking. The bed linens and towels are of very nice quality and all the furniture is new. It is just a very comfortable home. The downtown area of Mill Valley is an easy and beautiful walk through the redwoods. We enjoyed many, many good restaurants, but our favorites were Vasco (Italian), BooKoo (Asian), The Buckeye (American), The Depot for breakfast or lunch and Noci for fantastic gelato and Sorbet. There is also a movie theater showing first run movies and a wonderful public library. A 15 minute drive to Sausalito will take you to the ferry, a short hop to San Francisco with all its interesting attractions. In short, this was a perfect location for a perfect vacation. The only problem was that we had to leave. 02 April 2015 - 22:27:09

My family and I LOVED our time in Mill Valley at this exquisite home. The pictures barely do it justice. Brent and Wade have wonderful taste and really go the extra mile to make the place as stylish and cozy as it is. The house was very clean and fully stocked with everything we needed. Additionally, Brent and Wade prepared a very useful guidebook to help guests become better acquainted with the area. Very helpful! The location of Mill Valley couldn't be better - only 10 mins to Muir Woods and San Francisco, and about 40 mins to Napa Valley. And Mill Valley itself is quite the little gem. It has great little coffee shops (like the Equator) and awesome restaurants (like Bungalow 44) and good shopping too. Plus, if you like running and cycling, you'll love touring around this town amidst the Redwoods. After 4 nights, we weren't ready to leave. So, if you're considering a trip to San Fran, and aren't sure whether you want to stay right in the city, I highly HIGHLY recommend staying at Brent and Wade's. You won't regret it! 10 May 2015 - 23:37:22

I stayed at this house with 6 college buddies for a weekend mountain biking trip. The location was fabulous. We were able to ride home from the bike shop and ride directly to the Old Railroad Grade trail at the base of Mt. Tam. It was truly a perfect location giving us access to all of the best trails in the Headlands and Mt Tam areas. Also, we loved the gas grill which we used for every meal. I would highly recommend this house. 15 May 2015 - 16:36:12

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Brent's home in Mill Valley. The location is wonderful. It's a quick walk into town for a coffee, meal, or show at Sweetwater or the Throckmorton Theater. I enjoyed going on hikes accessed a few minutes walk from his home. Brent offered detailed information on different hikes and he has many maps of the trails of Mt. Tam and Mill Valley including the many peaceful paths throughout the town. We enjoyed eating our meals, reading, and sunning ourselves among the redwoods on his front porch. Though there are people walking, running, and biking through the town all the time, the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The house is super clean and the beds are comfy. I loved having his and hers bathrooms. I love Mill Valley and would stay in this home again. 12 June 2015 - 01:06:52

What a wonderful stay at your house in the redwoods! We came for our son's wedding and has a great 2 week stay. My parents came along and it was nice they only had two steps to contend with to get into your lovely home. There is easy access to Mill Valley, San Francisco and all the surrounding areas. The house was comfortable and had a great one level layout. The area is very quiet and peaceful. The owners were very accomadating and quick to return texts. I would recommend this home to everyone! 23 June 2015 - 01:13:00

We had a fantastic stay in Brent's beautiful home in Mill Valley. We came to San Francisco for a family wedding, but the location was a great home base for our week stay. The home was clean and comfortable and very accomodating for our family. We visited Muir Woods, Yosemite, Napa and Sonoma Vally, San Franciso, Monterey, Pebble Beach, Stinson Beach, Sausalito and Mill Valley. My only regret was not spending more time in the beautiful home. The redwoods in the middle of the deck were awesome and the neighborhood was very quiet. I would recommend this property to anyone. 01 July 2015 - 14:50:27

Thank you Brent and Wade for a wonderful long weekend in your Mill Valley home! How lucky we were to have found this gem!! Traveling with multi-generations for a family wedding, we chose this home for it's single level layout and potential to accommodate a wheelchair** The mid-century living room furnishings and wide, inviting decks were wonderful gathering spots for us to reconnect (redwoods poking out of the deck very cool). The kitchen and baths all perfectly appointed, clean and the bedrooms comfortable. The media room offered great flex sleeping space and seemed ideal electronically (however, we didn't turn it on for having so many other things to do). And, the location is just perfect. Quiet and residential, the street spills out to Mill Valley's charming downtown. We LOVED the town ("I could live here" being the ultimate review by both an 18 and a 68 year old!). The "Equator" coffee shop, the adorable shop "Brand" and Mill Valley Market all faves. Brent and Wade had extensive recommendations in a notebook which we all found spot on and quite helpful. And, when a marathon over the golden gate threatened our plans to get to the airport, Brent was amazingly helpful with alternate routes, etc -- even checking in with me to be sure we "made" it out alright. We would stay here again -- with glee -- and hope that it might be sooner than later! Bravo Brent and Wade -- your spot was perfect!! (** traveler in wheelchair unable to join at last minute -- the driveway, entry, living areas would have accommodated but ask Brent to check dimensions of bath/bed doorways for your chair needs). 03 August 2015 - 13:06:24

My family and I already reside in the bay area but we temporarily needed a bigger place while my parents were visiting from the east coast. Luckily I found this wonderful place on homeaway.com. We had a great stay. The shade and dappled light from the redwoods is very picturesque and cozy, my dad is a big fan of nature so he felt right at home. The short walk into town is very pleasant, and the town itself is equally so. Lots of great restaurants and shops to explore. It didn't take long for the house to feel like home and all the accommodations were great. My mother has a hard time walking and uses a cane, the incline on the driveway gave her a little trouble but it wasn't anything she couldn't handle. She had no trouble at all getting around the house. Overall we had a great experience. My parents had a great time and for us locals it still felt like a getaway. We spent 3 nights & 4 days in Mill Valley for a wedding. The location of the house was perfect for a an easy walk to town...he away enough from town to have privacy & calm. The house is made for entertaining...open floor plan, lots of outside space (both front & back) & with a well stocked kitchen! Owner is very flexible & reliable...a pleasure to "work" with. Only thing I would add is a proper couch rather than daybed in TV room, cable TV and a hot tub! 22 October 2015 - 17:23:43

We were surprised and elated that the pictures didn't do justice to the restful and beauty of being "in" the Redwoods - like a mini-Muir Woods! The trees bordered the house in all directions! Mill Valley had many fine restaurants and we loved kicking back in front of the fireplace several evenings after a long day touring the area. Muir woods is a mere 20 minutes and this made for an excellent location for everything we wanted to do. Bedrooms were sizable and kitchen appointments made it easy to eat in as eat out. When we get back to area, we plan to return to this home to stay. 16 November 2015 - 19:41:07

My family and I selected this gorgeous rental as our stay-cation spot for Thanksgiving this year, and I am delighted it was available! We enjoyed everything about our stay - the proximity to town, the hikes outside the door, the quiet and peaceful state of the neighborhood, the cozy fireplace and open concept of the living space, the comfy beds, pillows and additional bedding. All in all, this was a very relaxing getaway and Brent + Wade thought of everything to make it comfortable & cozy. Thank you both for helping to create one of the most memorable holiday's we've had. Would definitely rent again! 30 November 2015 - 23:18:13

Our family (kids, parents, grandparents) loved staying at this house. It was great for us to visit places like Muir Woods and San Francisco during the day but then spend relaxing evenings in Mill Valley. Coffee on the deck in the morning was definitely a highlight. In fact, I wish I could bring their deck, redwoods included, home with me! The house itself was very clean and in beautiful condition. We had a minor issue with the dryer and a few questions at check in and Brent responded very quickly and efficiently. I would definitely recommend this home! Thanks for sharing it with us! 24 August 2015 - 22:13:58

My husband & I, our son and my sister & her 2 teenage sons stayed at Brent's beautiful home. We arrived late on Thursday night and left on the following Monday. Our daughter's wedding was at Outdoor Art Club and this home a perfect location. The mid-century home has a updated & modern vibe with clean lines. The front deck built around towering redwoods is amazing and the perfect place to gather & have a glass of wine. The backyard is also a comfortable gathering place. The kitchen very functional for cooking and the bathrooms were both furnished with the body wash, blow dryer and other basic amenities. The owner was great to work with. I really hope to return to this lovely home; we didn't have time to enjoy the quaint town of Mill Valley this trip because of the wedding activities. On previous trips I enjoyed great dining at El Paseo (pricey, special occasion dining) & the Cantina (everyday Mexican food with great ambiance) & getting picnic fixings from the Mill Valley Market and strolling through downtown Mill Valley, supporting unique local shops filled with quality items. Overall the home was very comfortable, roomy and well laid out. It was great for having my other sister and her family over for a Sunday brunch. The guys hung out in media room watching football while another group sat out on front deck. We all gathered in front room while the newlyweds opened presents...so many happy memories were made! 30 October 2015 - 03:27:46
