  1. We arrived in Amsterdam during a cold front. The temperatures never got out of the 30's. We spent more time than we would have liked at the apartment. The place was very inviting and Lynn was a wonderful host. The apartment was very spacious and with five adults there was plenty of room for all of us. The atrium area was also a nice place to sit and be out of the cold. We all looked forward to returning to the room to get out of the terrible weather and into a warm environment. Thanks Lynn for everything...... 23 March 2013 - 15:18:25

First off, the owner, Lynn, could not have been more helpful to a crew of weary travelers. My husband and I were with our 3 teenagers. When I booked online, I thought the place was too good to be true. It exceeded my expectations. The house was charming, clean, comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed. Full kitchen, beds for everyone, big bathroom, and an awesome sun room where you could unwind. Wonderful location, tons of restaurants within walking distance, local market about 2 blocks away. Never felt the need to rent a car or take the bus. Our only complaint, we did not spend enough time in Amsterdam! Would definitely stay again. 14 August 2013 - 00:21:27

From our initial inquiry through departing the unit, communication via email with the property owner was easy, efficient and accurate! Our taxi driver phoned the unit owner as we departed the airport and we were greeted at the unit, given a tour and provided very helpful information about the immediate area as well as assistance with locating friends staying elsewhere in town. The photos are accurate, the unit charming, clean, comfortable and "work ready" with a large dining table/work space. The wireless internet signal easily handled simultaneous VPN (2) and handheld connections (4). As a group that must work while on holiday - internet access was key and our expectations surpassed. The unit is within easy walking distance of stores, restaurants, pubs, attractions and public transportation. We strolled minutes to the Anne Frank house, walked to the Rijks museum and many other areas of interest. The pub across the street graciously phoned cabs for us on two occasions. We fell in love with Amsterdam and the unit, intending to return soon to both. As a fellow VRBO owner, kudos to Lynn on a wonderful and stress-free rental experience. 15 September 2013 - 08:19:39

My son and I spent a week at this property in Amsterdam. It's a roomy and comfortable apartment in an ideal location. We would definitely use this property again if we were to visit Amsterdam again. I would like to see the linens, specifically pillows be upgraded and there is a bar across the street from the apartment and it gets a little noisy on Friday and Saturday evenings. There are several good restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the apartment and a quick 5-10 minute walk to the Anne Frank house. The city center is ~20-25 minute walk and it's easy to get around. The open markets in the neighborhood on Saturday and Monday are terrific, and so close. 02 December 2013 - 02:32:22

We had a most pleasant stay in this authentic, well equipped Amsterdam house in the residential neighbourhood of Jordaan. Our hostess was very friendly and helpful, and provided us with all the necessary information upon our arrival. She had many excellent suggestions of restaurants, helpful hints and tips. The house was furnished with an eclectic mix of furniture and decor, not my taste, but for a vacation spot it was definitely interesting. I would have liked a better television, which was older than my teenage son, and maybe a larger couch on which to stretch out (Ikea seems to be the standard there), but it was not a big deal. The upstairs had some very solid and comfortable beds, plenty of room in the armoirs for our clothes, and a really robust shower. I always like hooks and shelves for my stuff in the bathroom, so maybe that was a bit lacking, otherwise well appointed. The location was awesome, quiet but not too far from the bustle, and within walking distance of two grocery stores. I recommend visiting the Pianola museum, just a corner away. They give tours once a week only, and the treasures within are truly unique. 14 January 2014 - 19:36:55

This is a fantastic apartment in a great location. Walking distance to the city center and easy access to public transportation. The apartment itself is very nice, with two bedrooms upstairs and lovely living space downstairs. Can't wait to come back! 26 March 2014 - 20:10:52

My 3 friends and I stayed in this apartment for four nights. There are enough beds for all of us to have our own which was very nice. There is plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable...plenty of closets and storage space. The apartment is in a great location and it is easy to get to transportation. Lynn, the owner, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. I would definitely recommend this apartment if you are in Amsterdam. We really enjoyed our stay! 24 April 2014 - 16:51:06

The apartment is clean and well equipped. It's in a great part of town close to the market & Anne Frank House. There are so many cafes to just sit by the canals and enjoy outside eating & drinking. The owner, Lynn is very helpful & friendly. All 4 of us were very comfortable. I would love to return here. 03 May 2014 - 23:37:20

The apartment was exactly what we wanted, large and spacious, clean and very comfy ! and the location could not be better, close enough to city center to see the sights but in such a beautiful area, quaint, warm and lovely that you almost hated to leave and go anywhere else. And Lynn was so helpful and always available if we needed her ! Thanks Lynn for sharing your home with us ......my father in law loved it so much, he was trying to figure out how to stay longer ! we will for sure be back to see you ! 30 July 2014 - 13:27:51

This apartment was amazing. It was easy to find, and was two story and had enough beds for everyone in the family (we have six people!) and there was even a garden. There were a lot of comfortable benches and chairs in the sun room. There was a well stocked kitchen, a big dining table, and a TV. There was also very good Wi-Fi. There were many nearby restaurants, grocery stores, and monuments such as the Anne Frank House, and even better, they were all within walking distance. Lynn, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Once, when the shower wasn't working, she immediately came and helped us fix it. She also recommended a few places to eat and places to go. I would definitely recommend this apartment. 20 September 2014 - 19:14:36

We were surprised to see how spacious this home is. Loved the kitchen with a harvest table and great pots and pans. Thank you! Also, the area was a real plus. Close to the grocery stores and a lovely natural food store. Bedrooms are large and a new large bathroom between the bedrooms. Only down fall is the weekend noise on the street side. Bedroom . As there is a pub across the street open pretty late on the weekends. Landlord was helpful and called us a cab. 25 October 2016 - 13:53:59

For people who want to be near the action - but not in the middle of it - this was perfect. Lynn's lovely two-story apartment is just two blocks away from an incredible restaurant row, as well as a filled-with-locals street with groceries and other day-to-day essentials. Just a block or two further, and you're at the Anne Frank house and easy access to trams, canals and the rest of Amsterdam. Charming and spacious apartment (two bathrooms, people!) is fully stocked with everything you need and then some; Lynn was so helpful and charming and responsive with every question or need. 11 July 2017 - 19:42:00

We had a lovely stay at Lynn's apartment. The neighborhood is a great home base for exploring Amsterdam. It's not as crowded with tourists, yet is a short walk to the main sights. There are several great restaurants within a short walk, and the apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The apartment is really spacious and very charming. I fully recommend this apartment! 18 August 2016 - 08:45:00

This apartment is in a wonderful location for walking through central Amsterdam and is convenient to trams and buses to take you further afield. There are great cafes, bakeries, and other shops nearby, yet it is a quiet apartment, and you have the feeling of living in a real neighborhood. The apartment is very spacious -- all rooms are large, and the living space downstairs is perfect for relaxing, socializing, and cooking meals if you feel like it (the kitchen is very well equipped). Everything is well maintained and very clean. Lynn was quite helpful with instructions, information about the neighborhood, and extras such as calling a taxi for the return trip. The spiral staircase to the upstairs bedrooms is steep, but more manageable than many Amsterdam stairs, and it is very nice having the main living quarters on the street level. My family would love to stay here again, and we would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Amsterdam. 16 March 2016 - 16:35:00

This is the second stay at this apartment for my husband and me. The location cannot be beat. It is close to so many wonderful restaurants, delis, shops and transportation. The apartment is spacious, has excellent storage and is very comfortable. We made great use of the large kitchen table for planning out our activities and then relaxed on the new sectional sofa in the lounge area. The solarium is a nice area to meditate in a serene environment. Lynn is a superb host, offering guidance for restaurants, museums, music and just awesome conversation. She answered all of our questions quickly and was available at all times during our stay. Lynn also provides plenty of linens, pillows, blankets and supplies. If you want to live like a local in the Jordaan, this is the place for you. 12 October 2015 - 00:02:03

Wondering where and how to begin talking about Lynn's apartment! We had the privilege of staying at her place just recently and we absolutely loved it. Jordaan is a highly recommended place by itself, and the apartment could not be in a better location. It is surrounded by eateries of all kinds, famous ice cream places, grocery stores, launderette and pharmacies (a family always thinks of those). It is within an easy access of the tram station; the Central Station is a healthy, 15 minutes walk away. Its proximity to Anne Frank's House, to the canals (any which way you walk from her house), to the Westerkerk, to the restaurants - makes it an extremely coveted place to stay at. Now let us get to the inside of the apartment - space galore! We are a family of 4, (us and our children - 20 & 14) and we never felt the need for extra space. The kitchen is very well stocked. There is also a "Calming Room" downstairs, a place to sit and recap the entire day. The two bedrooms upstairs were spacious, with enough storage space. The full bath is fully stocked as well. The house itself is very cool, even on the hottest Amsterdam day. Amsterdam experienced record heat since 1901 during our stay! With all the fans that Lynn provided we did not feel the lack of air-conditioning at all! Perhaps the best part of our experience of the apartment was Lynn, who is an exceptional hostess! Extremely kind, patient, always ready to help and easy to reach. Lynn, thank you for sharing your place with us. We absolutely enjoyed our stay and it was a privilege to meet you, talk to you and work with you. If we visit Amsterdam again, we know where to stay! 09 July 2015 - 22:20:30

I rented the unit for 6 days in June. The bar that is depicted directly across from the apartment is extremely noisy thoughout the evening. Patrons gather outside, drink, laugh, and talk loudly. Trying to recover from jet lag after flying from the USA and get an evening's rest between 8 p.m. and midnight was extremely unpleasant -- paricularly in light of the fact that the windows provided no sound insulation. When I confronted the owner, she said that the residents in the neighborhood were trying to get a petition together to do something about the noise from the bar. If that is the case, then the statement in this add about being on a "quiet street" was a misrpesentation. AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE SOMEONE TRULY LOOKING FOR A QUIET PLACE TO REST DURING THE EVENING! 19 September 2011 - 01:18:03

My husband and I stayed here for nine days in October. The best method for me to fully explain my thoughts on the fantastic Jordaan apartment is to give a Pros and Cons list. Pros: Lynn is a marvelous host. She is so nice and extremely helpful -The apartment is SPACIOUS and the photos do not do it justice. There was plenty of room in both bedrooms and in bathroom. -The closet and storage space in the bedrooms is tremendous. The closet space rivals American closets. -There are electrical outlets EVERYWHERE! We have many electronic gadgets and there was always room to charge all of them at the same time. -Lynn provides many, many towels, bath mats and blankets for your comfort. -The kitchen has everything you would want and more. The large kitchen table is an excellent place to eat or to plan out your day. -The location is perfect. You have easy access to trams or buses if you do not care to walk. - Fabulous restaurants one block away! Los Pilones, Caramba, Toscanini, Capri, Ko Chang, Il Fiore. Cons: The windows in the front bedroom are quite thin and you can hear street noise rather easily. If you sleep with earplugs, this will not be a problem at all. We hope to return to Lynn's apartment on our next Amsterdam adventure! 06 November 2013 - 00:15:01

This house worked perfectly for our family. The location was close to great restaurants, supermarkets, city center, trams, etc. When we got there a couple of the lights didn't work, but Lynn took care of that immediately. She was also very gracious about scheduling a cab to take us to the airport, even though we changed the pick up time twice. Beds were very comfortable and Internet worked very well. 04 July 2012 - 23:11:13
