My daughter and I had never been to Amsterdam before so appreciated Franks detailed instructions and the wide array of tourism info in the apartment. We spent our first three days walking out from the apt to all the highlights Jordaan, Centrum and the immediate area. For days 4 and 5 we rented bikes from City Bikes right across the street and used them to go a little further afield. City Bike guy was very helpful and provided us with our best map! We would definitely stay at the apartment again and recommend it without hesitation. 03 November 2017 - 19:53:00

Everything was perfect. We had some issues with our flights and the property owner was very understanding with our check in. The property is in a great location. The apartmet itself was very clean and comfortable. We are very happy with how everything turned out! 19 August 2015 - 14:55:16

What a perfect location!! Wonderful, Clean, convenient apartment on a side street, right off a main road in downtown. Right around the corner from the tram station that will get you anywhere in Amsterdam. Within walking distance to so many sites. Frank was so easy to work with. Returned emails quickly, more then happy to provide any information requested. Frank met us at the apartment and made sure we knew how to operate everything...even left us with a bottle of wine! I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Amsterdam and will stay again if we return. Thank you Frank 24 August 2015 - 16:25:30

Great apartment, wonderful location and very responsive owner. The photos don't do the apartment justice. It is bright and very well equipped. The washer and dryer work great. Close to shopping, dining, transportation and entertainment. The wine on arrival was very well appreciated. Frank was very responsive and provided us with all the information we requested or needed. Our security deposit was refunded within 48 hours of our departure. We would definitely stay there again. 09 October 2015 - 15:08:02

We started our month-long trip with a 6-night stay in this apartment in Amsterdam. It was delightful. The location made it easy to access the city's excellent public transit. Turn right as you exit the front door and you are steps away from a main street. Turn left and you are steps away from the lovely Jordaan area. The apartment itself is larger than the pictures portray. Windows in the front offer a view of buildings across the street featuring Amsterdam's famous roof lines, and in the back the balcony overlooks a treed courtyard area. The street is lively at times, but the windows block out any noise. We loved feeling part of the city. It was very easy and pleasant to work with Frank, the owner. We do not hesitate to recommend this apartment. 20 May 2017 - 11:34:00

This apartment is comfortable, attractive and located in a very convenient location. The area is exactly how one imagines picture perfect Amsterdam. The back of the apartment, where the bedroom, office and terrace are located, overlooks courtyards below. It is very quiet and we were able to sleep with the windows open without a problem. The kitchen is very well equipped although we only used it to make coffee and tea. and to store some beer, wine, and great Dutch cheese in the fridge. There is a nice bakery nearby (corner of Leidsestraat and Prinsengracht) to buy breakfast buns etc. There are also some good take-aways a few blocks away. The living room had ample seating and tables areas and there were numerous guide books/maps available which we found really helpful. The bed was large and comfortable (pillows not so much), the towels were a good quality and size and the shower was great. The washer and dryer had clear instructions in English and were very welcome as we were travelling light. We would highly recommend this apartment it had everything we needed and was within walking distance of most of the main attractions in Amsterdam. Transportation from the airport was simple and convenient (bus 197) and thus we were able to avoid the hectic central train station. 22 October 2015 - 16:43:04

This was one of the easiest and best VRBO locations we've experienced. Frank communicated quickly with us and was very accommodating. The location of this apartment is great as it is less than a block from a tram stop making it very easy to take public transportation to and from the airport. There are many dining options nearby, from busy and loud to quiet bistros. It is also close to many shopping locations and within walking distance to museums. The apartment was spotless and included all the amenities. The bed was King size, so roomy and quite comfortable. There was plenty of closet/drawer space. The shower water pressure and temp was perfect. After a big rainstorm that tore our umbrella to shreds, we even found 2 large umbrellas in the closet. Wifi was great and the wireless speaker we could use through our iPad was a nice feature. The damage deposit was refunded the day after I left. I will definitely try to stay here again if I ever return to Amsterdam. My only disappointment is that if I bring my kids, the 4 of us won't fit into Frank's apartment! 05 August 2015 - 20:53:50

I came for a few nights, traveling solo from Brussels. The apartment was in a nice neighborhood, close to everything, but quiet. This was my first time using VRBO, and the experience exceeded my expectations. I was greeted and given a tour of the apartment, it was sparkling clean, very bright, and cheerful. I had a short time to see a lot of sites and the location was perfect. The linens were soft, the coffee was very good. The wine was a nice touch to end a long day of site seeing. Thank you for sharing your home, Frank! I will recommend your place to all my friends who travel to Amsterdam. 22 September 2015 - 17:33:31

Excellent location, easy to find, responsive owner. Loved the easy access to great food, even inexpensive take-away soup and salads a short distance away on the same street. The major museums are within walking distance or a short tram ride. Check out Cora Kemperman clothing - women's clothing by a Dutch designer, located on the shopping street right around the corner from the apartment. 31 August 2015 - 20:37:12

Our three night stay was outstanding! The apartment, a charming upscale mix of modern conveniences and old world decorative touches, is impeccably clean! It's located in a quiet, safe neighborhood with convenient access to great restaurants, shopping, public transportation and sightseeing. Every detail was perfect: comfortable furnishings, bedding, bath, modern kitchen and laundry, excellent wifi --- even sightseeing books and maps! It exceeded our expectations. You will not be disappointed! 07 October 2015 - 14:18:31

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. The house was immaculate when we arrived, and Frank had thoughtfully left us a welcoming bottle of wine, along with Nespresso coffee capsules. There was good information about how to use the appliances, locate groceries, and travel in the Netherlands. The house is stocked beautifully--lots of towels, silver and cookware, and cleaning products. Wi-fi is easily accessed and very responsive. The location was ideal for us, with lots of restaurants in the vicinity and within easy walking distance to museums, the city center, and other sites. The apartment is comfortable, updated, light, and the best combination of modern and antique. We especially appreciated its being surrounded by three lovely canals. Moreover, Frank was a pleasure to work with...prompt, responsive, and attentive to our having the best possible experience. 02 November 2015 - 16:58:57

Our stay was fantastic! Frank offered us explicit directions on how to get to the apartment and met us outside to carry our luggage in and give us a tour. The apartment was perfectly furnished and had everything we could have possibly needed in full stock. The pictures do not do it justice! The location is perfect, close to transportation, shops, and restaurants. Frank also provided several tour books and info guides with the apartment regarding the surrounding area. There was also a binder with the guide to the apartment in terms of working the apartment appliances. Though we visited during a heat wave, Frank accommodated with a bedroom fan. We would definitely recommend this to any family/friends visiting Amsterdam and hope to return one day ourselves! We struck gold with choosing to stay at this apartment! 13 August 2016 - 02:27:28

Frank was excellent at communicating and very helpful. He met us even though we were quite delayed on the train. His pride in the beautiful apartment was evident and the chilled bottle of wine was appreciated. The apartment was great, roomy, very clean, very good internet service and the location was wonderful, everything easy to get to. Due to a very un-normal heat wave, Frank was so nice he even bought an air conditioner for us, but it turned out to be defective. Leaving the windows open in the evening made it cool enough to sleep even though it was a bit noisy. I would definitely rent again if I return to Amsterdam. 08 July 2015 - 13:04:35

What a great place to stay while in Amsterdam! We were promptly greeted by Frank who gave us the apartment tour. Everything you need in an apartment including a really cool glass speaker system and a single-serving Nespresso machine, like a Keurig in the U.S. but with 3x the kick! Instructions on how to use the high tech washer, dryer and microwave/ convection oven were available in English. We left our phone in Germany and had it shipped to Frank who drove into town and dropped it off while we were sightseeing. The extra service was most appreciated! Our only recommendation would be to upgrade the WiFi so there was a strong signal throughout the apartment including the balcony out back. Thank you Frank! 27 August 2015 - 22:51:45

Pros: 1-Great apartment in general with nice and comfortable furnishings. We hope to come back to Amsterdam and if we do, we will definitely stay here again. 2-Location is perfect--we walked to almost everything and when we first arrived at Amsterdam Centraal it was an easy tram ride and short walk. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance--we especially liked Ron's Gastrobar which is located directly across the street. 3-Apartment is well stocked with dishes, pots, glassware, lots of towels--all you could ever need. 4-Everything was spotless. 5-The owner leaves a booklet with all the information necessary during our stay--when to put out the garbage, how all the appliances worked, where the grocery stores were located. 6-Layout of the apartment was good--bedroom in the rear , so it was quiet, a nice study with a desk and comfortable chair from which to use our computer, plenty of drawer and closet space, a little outdoor balcony with chairs and table, big windows with lots of light in the front with which to watch the neighborhood. Cons: Only one, and it is minor: 1-The shower needs a place for soap and shampoo. There is no place to put these when showering. This could easily be remedied with an inexpensive hanging caddy. 27 October 2017 - 17:37:00

We really enjoyed staying at this apartment. From the first contact with Frank the owner through our last minute there, we found nothing to complain about. The apartment is very spacious, well equiped, and had many amenities we usually must supply ourselves. The location was outstanding, with great restaurants across the street, or within easy walking distance. We highly recommend this apartment and will definitely want to rent it again. 10 October 2017 - 20:59:00

Fantastic location just off the busy street, still lively during the day with the life of Amsterdam. All creature comforts are available, even including some English channels on the tv. When I return to Amsterdam which I know I will I will gladly stay here if available. Bed is comfortable, kitchen is fine. The little balcony is peaceful. I enjoyed just hanging out the window watching the life on the street. The restaurant across the street is also fantastic. 07 September 2017 - 07:31:00

Frank helped us out with a last minute unexpected booking, and was extremely efficient and responsive at all times. His instructions to find the apartment were spot on, and the little folder of information he provided was very useful. The apartment location cannot be beaten, very close to trams and walkable to major sites including the Museums, Dam Square and Anne Frank House. A quick, simple tram journey from Centraal Station, too. The apartment itself is ideal for couples, roomy and comfortable, and having a washer and dryer certainly makes travelling life easier (a hairdryer also). Well definitely recommend Grachtengordel to any of our friends/family who visit Amsterdam (building stairs also wide and easy to manage with suitcases). Thanks Frank! 21 January 2018 - 07:22:00

Frank's place is everything the other positive reviews have said and more. The location is central in the bustling canal district action but on a quiet street. Easy walking distance to trams and to major shopping/dining areas as well as museums. The apartment itself is bright and inviting, spotlessly clean, updated, and thoughtfully appointed. The dcor combines the best of modern, traditional, and creative Amsterdam making it a cheerful oasis in a busy city. It includes a fully equipped kitchen, laundry machines (with soap) and a Nespresso machine with pods. There are great supermarkets nearby, with directions given in the detailed apartment guide. Next to the large and comfortable bedroom is a study with a large cupboard for luggage and clothes. WiFi was fast and reliable. Frank is an exceptionally gracious host, excellent at communicating. Check-in and out were well organized and the security deposit was returned promptly. This lovely place thoroughly enhanced our trip to Amsterdam and we look forward to staying there again. 02 November 2017 - 19:08:00
