About listing

Complete city villa, in one of the prettiest streets of the trendy neighborhood "Wittevrouwen". Build in 1895 and completely renovated to the highest standards. On the edge of the neighborhood, touching the inner city you can still find peace and quiet while you are surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shops. The house consists of 4 floors with 3 bathrooms and 3 toilets. It is a great place for a family or 2 families travelling together. The house has been completely renovated in 2016 and all the rooms and bathrooms are of the highest standard. The ground floor has a large living room with an open kitchen. Large table with 8 chairs and 2 doors opening into the city garden. The first floor has two spacious guest rooms and a modern bathroom with rain shower. One of these guest rooms is turned into a childrens play-room with a climbing wall, a slide and lots and lots of stuff to play with. The second floor also has two large bedrooms with a modern bathroom with a rain shower and a bath. The top floor has been converted to a loft with great views overlooking the city. With the bath and rain shower in the room it feels like your private spa.

Gijs was an amazing host, checking in with us before and during our stay. The house is renovated beautifully and includes very modern amenities (nice fireplace, Alexa device for music and lighting, heating system, coffee machine, dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven, etc.). The top floor loft is indeed very beautiful with an awesome view over the city. We were a large group (9 adults and 1 baby), and this place easily fit us all and was very kid-friendly. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals for the 10 of us (large fridge, freezer, sharp knives, silverware, cups, plates, cooking pots and pans, etc.). In the dining room, there's a wonderful, large table which we could all gather around for meals and games (even with a baby chair). Just next to this is a big couch and a nice place to lounge. In two of the rooms, we had two king-sized beds, with one having a baby bed that Gijs arranged for us. Two other rooms had two twin-sized beds pushed together, which worked fine (one minor thing was that in one of these rooms, the two beds were a different height, maybe 2 inches or 5 cm), and the last room had a single twin-sized bed. The neighborhood was very nice and calm, with restaurants and little shops nearby. The best thing was having a supermarket just around the corner (not even a 2-minute walk)! We were within walking distance to the downtown area (it took us maybe 15 minutes to walk to the Dom tower). We really felt at home here, so it was a perfect place for our family to celebrate Christmas (Gijs even had a decorated Christmas tree up, making it even more cosy). He really put a lot of effort into ensuring our comfort. Coming back to Utrecht, we will definitely look for this place! 02 January 2018 - 15:37:00
