About listing

This beautiful 2-bed flat in a historic early 18th century house is comfortable and bright with a new kitchen and 300-year old wood panelling and original floors. It is located in Soho in the beating heart of London's thriving theatre-, shopping and restaurant-district. Major museums, art galleries, parks, Buckingham Palace, the South Bank, dozens of theatres, cinemas, and all the shopping attractions of Bond Street, Oxford Street and Covent Garden are within fifteen easy walking minutes of the front door. The rest of London is easily accessible through three near-by tube stops (Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Tottenham Court Road) and numerous buses. The flat is on the third floor of a historic (circa 1700') Queen Anne house in Soho. It is newly refurbished to a high standard and has original early 18th century panelling in all the rooms. Free wifi is available via the flat's dedicated broadband service. The spacious living room contains a large sleep sofa, a 32'' flat screen TV, and a dining area with chairs and table sitting 4. The large kitchen has brand new units and appliances including washing machine, dishwasher, double-height fridge freezer, electric oven and gas hob. The two bedrooms are airy and bright and each contains a double bed (one is slightly smaller than a standard double bed). NB : The bathroom containing a bath and WC is very compact. There is a separate shower concealed behind the panelling in one of the bedrooms. The flat is furnished with a mixture of antique and modern furniture and has beautiful polished original wooden floors with oriental and modern rugs. Soho is a lively area in the evening but our street is relatively quiet as is the flat. Staying here, visitors can enjoy luxurious accommodation while experiencing the "village" that is the very centre of this great city.

This was our first family trip to London with the primary purpose of hitting all the major sites. We wanted to be close to multiple underground stations and be able to walk to many other spots. This flat was perfect for that. The flat itself worked fine for my wife and I and 2 teenage buys. There are two bedrooms and a pullout couch so we were comfortable. There are technically 2 bathrooms but beware that really the only functional shower is in one of the bedrooms. While there is another tub where the toilet and sink are it really isn't functional. It's just 2 small and weird configuration. Not a big deal for us but for others it might. As I mentioned the toilet is up a narrow set of stairs so be aware of that aspect as well. Renting could not have been any easier. Flora was responsive to our multiple inquiries. And William and Jane were very nice on the rare occasion we bumped into them during our 6 night stay. Lastly do know that it can be very loud on the street below particularly on Saturday night. It's in the heart of theatre district and close to Chinatown so it is to be expected. During the week it was not an issue at all. We hit some great little spots in the area and took in a show "Kinky Boots" which was excellent. Other great finds were "The Breakfast Club for breakfast Soho Secret Tea Room" - for afternoon tea. It's a block away. Yelp it or you will never find it. It's upstairs from a bar in corner of Greek and Romily. You have to go into the bar and ask the bartender. Duck and Dog for Fish and Chips. Cheerio! 07 March 2017 - 12:57:00

Lovely place, cozy, great Soho location walkable to everything especially tube station, theater, Piccadilly Circus, grocery store. No elevators up four flights of stairs. Good to travel light. Great old renovated building. Very accommodating hosts via Flora. Well equipped, had all we needed. Thoughtfully stocked ref with some food items. Vase of lovely fresh roses welcomed us. Thank you for a memorable stay with you William, Jane, your sons, and Flora. We timed the huge London Gay Pride Day! What a party for several blocks around! 20 July 2017 - 05:47:00

Wonderful apartment in lovely old property in Soho. Apartment clean and bright. Very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Situated in the hustle and bustle of central London - walking distance to theatre land, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Piccadilly and Leicester Square. I have stayed in London several times and this is the best located apartment I have ever stayed in. 02 July 2017 - 15:32:00

We booked this flat because of its wonderful reviews. Flora was quick to respond to any request both during the booking process as well as our stay. She greeted us upon our arrival and quickly gave us a tour of our home for the following three days. It does have several short flights of stairs leading up to it, but it should be fine for most visitors. We enjoyed the vase of fresh flowers awaiting us on our dining table located in the living room. The television was easy to use with a variety of channels. The sofa was comfortable as both a seating area and made out into a bed. I slept on the sleeper sofa and was quite pleased with it. The flat is clean, bright and well lit. Several travel guide books as well as outlet adapters were available on the fireplace mantel. There is a nice array of soaps, some cotton swabs, makeup remover pads, etc. as well as fluffy towels and a hairdryer in the main bathroom. The water was a soothing temperature with very good pressure. The bedrooms were a nice size with storage for hanging as well drawer space for clothing. A good nights sleep was had by those sleeping in the comfortable beds. We found the kitchen to be very well equipped. It had all the cleaning supplies needed for washing dishes as well as clothing. Breakfast was our main meal eaten in the flat and we were happy to find the bagels, delicious jam, butter, and milk awaiting us in the refrigerator. For other shopping, a Tesco or Sainsbury were around a 20 minute walk away. (check Google Maps) We have visited London before and stayed in the Soho area, so we knew this would be a good place to stay for our visit. It is well placed for restaurant and pub visits. Our stay here was wonderful and I highly recommend this delightful flat. 09 June 2017 - 15:27:00

Very nice location, clean and functional. You will have 3 flights of stairs to climb and additional stairs to use the small bathroom. The additional shower in the master bedroom was helpful. Flora was cheerfully accommodating and left bagels and flowers. 06 June 2017 - 11:42:00

Fabulous location. Very central. Old & creaky but very in keeping with the age of the property. The three flights of stairs are certainly a workout, especially with suitcases in tow but was offered assistance. Toilet upstairs. Quite snug but very well hosted. All in all a pleasant stay. 04 June 2017 - 15:57:00

We visited London during mid-August and stayed in this apartment in Soho, London. The location is SUPERB, being located within the bustling Soho, 200 meters from Chinatown, with tons of restaurants, pubs, bars, clubs around the apartment - while being surprisingly quiet even on weekends. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly want, everything is high quality, from the toaster to the washing machine. WiFi wasn't spectacular so don't expect too much - but it did work fine for small Google queries or maps checks. And last but not least, Flora the apartment manager was super friendly and helpful - thank you again!!! 28 August 2017 - 07:48:00

Theater sind fulufig erreichbar, "Harry Potter and the cursed child" ganz nah. 13 September 2017 - 11:09:00

Our group of three enjoyed the weekend in London. Especially appreciated... We had planned to just hopefully drop off bags. We were permitted a check in at 1. Since no one was checking in on our check out day Flora suggested we just leave the bags and enjoy our final hours in London. This was so appreciated and allowed us time at Hyde Park. The coffee, bagels, milk and jam were a treat and the flowers on the table a beautiful touch. Thank you for sharing your space with us. 09 October 2017 - 14:34:00

The apartment is charming, historical and exceptionally clean. I loved staying in a 300 year old house. It is located in a lively area, perfect for site-seeing with lots of restaurants and pubs nearby. The hostess was very accommodating with an unexpected change in our arrival time and was genuinely welcoming. 11 October 2017 - 19:21:00

This quaint apartment is in an excellent location with everything we needed to enjoy our two night stay. So thoughtful to also include a welcome package of milk, juice, water, jam and bagels. A great wifi connection too, which pleased our teenagers ! Would stay here again if we revisit and can highly recommend. 27 October 2017 - 21:33:00
