About listing

Comfortable, centrally located family home with great transport links, that is a great base from which to explore all that London has to offer. The house is highly suitable for families, with three double bedrooms, spacious kitchen/dinner, a large living room, and a beautiful private garden. The house has tons or character and very centrally located (you can hear Big Ben from the garden); this is the perfect base from which to enjoy your holiday in London. The house is well equipped and very comfortable, featuring many family antiques as well as lots of creature comforts. * The sleeping accommodation comprises three bedrooms with a double bed in each room, split over the 2nd & 3rd Floors. * Also on those floors are two full bathrooms. * The 1st floor features a large drawing room with lots of comfortable seating, cable TV and DVD player and DVDs and Books for you to utilise. *On The ground floor you will find the a large open-plan kitchen, dining and seating area with access to a large garden at the rear of the property. A WC can also be found on this floor. The host lives in a separate apartment in the basement of the property with its own entrance. There is a connecting door in the basement of the house via the shared laundry facilities, however, interaction is minimal, but they are there should anything arise or you have any queries during your stay. I also use another letting site to rent out the property and have been doing so since 2012, to see some of my reviews from that sight please contact me so the I can send you a link to that listing.

The house was very clean and tidy and spread over four floors which would not suit the elderly or infirm but for us it was great. Clean and tidy with all mod cons so if you wanted to eat in it wasn't a problem and the living room on the second floor doubled as a library with good views over the large garden at the rear. All three bedrooms were good size doubles with plenty of storage but with it being an old house the sash windows didn't keep the noise out from the front but it wasn't too much of a problem for us as we were dog tired after sightseeing all day !! The two bathrooms were handy as was the WC downstairs which prevented queuing, overall a very pleasant place to stay !! 08 June 2017 - 17:47:00

Rigtigt hyggeligt hjem med meget plads. Er prcis som p foto. Super beliggenhed. I Kkkenet kunne der godt blive ryddet op i diverse krydderier m.v. og kleskab og fryser trnger til en rengring ogs. Ikke noget der generede os, men jeg tnkte over det. Ville bestemt bo der igen. 20 June 2017 - 09:58:00

I can not say enough. The home is lovely and the garden in the back is absolutely beautiful! The owner was great to work with and even arranged our transportation to the chunnel upon leaving. Nice walk to Parliament and the area has lots of character and pubs. Feels like staying in the real London and not a tourist area. The home has everything you need and opening the windows at night cooled things off quickly. 11 July 2017 - 15:34:00

Fantastic house, very nicely furnished, comfortable but unique. Everything you need is at the property, fully kitted out kitchen if you wanted to stay in and cook. Would not be suitable for someone with mobility issues as the house is spread over three floors with two short flights of stairs to each floor. Bedrooms were lovely and plenty of room in them. A bonus of two bathrooms plus an extra toilet, so no queuing. The only down side is that it is on a busy main road, and when we stayed it was very hot, and if you are in one of the front bedrooms, with the windows open it could be a bit noisy, but after a full day out I think we were all exhausted so if didn't bother us too much. Also has a fabulous garden to sit in on a lovely summers evening. It is also a five minute walk from the Imperial War Museum with a fab little cafe. Plenty of pubs and places to eat again within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again. Alan Oliver is very helpful and very informative and was happy to answer any question and assist us. Thanks very much Alan. 18 July 2017 - 20:20:00

Alan is a gracious host and the property is perfect if you're interested in being walking distance from all the major sights, but want to get away at the end of the day 07 October 2017 - 11:58:00

We absolutely loved our stay at this house! When we booked we were looking for something big enough for 5 in the Waterloo area because other family members were going to be staying nearby. We usually stay in apartments when in London but came across this on the website and couldn't resist! There is so much living space and it feels like a well-loved home, plus everything you could think of was provided. And although you may not think it's in central London it's so easy to get the bus from outside the door or simply walk to Waterloo and across the river and you're there. And when our family get-together turned into a 50th birthday celebration for 15 of us, the house really came into it's own being so well equipped and spacious - a brilliant house for entertaining. Thanks also to Alan (and Delilah) for looking after us and being flexible about our arrival and departure times. We would love to stay again! 30 October 2017 - 08:59:00

Alan provides everything, and more, that is needed in his wonderful home. We felt like we were living inside the pages of HouseBeautiful magazine with the gorgeously eclectic decor. 04 August 2017 - 10:53:00

We had a great experience this week. Our host Alan was helpful and available, and made check-in and out seamless. The house is full of lovely furniture and art and fascinating books. We made breakfast every morning in the fully-equipped kitchen, and the two full baths on the floors with the bedrooms made getting ready in the morning easy. The garden behind the house is stunning and while it was a little chilly to spend time in in November it was still beautiful out the window over breakfast. And we loved the sitting room/library for hanging out in the evenings. That said, I was startled by how many stairs I ended up doing, since the sitting room is 1 flight up, and my bedroom was 3 flights up! It wasn't a difficulty for 5 able-bodied adults, but know that many stairs are in your future. The several bus lines that go right by the house run frequently, and Lambeth North tube station is only a short walk -- we were rarely more than 30 minutes from anywhere in London we wanted to be. Highly recommended! 27 November 2017 - 12:31:00

Fabulous place to stay, and the host was delightful. Well-equipped kitchen, and lovely accommodations. Great location - convenient to the underground and an easy walk to many places! 08 January 2018 - 23:57:00

For our group, two grandparents, two parents and a nearly-three-year-old, this house was great. It gave us plenty of room and good separation, and the backyard is lovely. The kitchen is well equipped and there were shops nearby. Bus transport was good and close. The tube was a little more challenging, particularly for a pram. We very much enjoyed going up The Shard and lunch in the Borough Market. Alan was a lovely host, helpful but unobtrusive. We would be very happy to return. 21 January 2018 - 07:13:00
