After very tight quarters aboard a week-long river cruise, we were very happy to move in to Rosie's Place--a beautifully decorated, bright, spotlessly clean and comfortable apartment. Plush towels, great shower, comfy bedding and very well appointed kitchen made our stay very enjoyable. The neighborhood is a quiet, residential area but within a few short blocks of many very good restaurants and shops. The Anne Frank house and Westerkirk area also a few blocks away (I loved listening to the church bells), and in fact we walked everywhere--to the museum district, flower market, the train station--never used public transportation until we left. A tram stop is two blocks away. As with all Amsterdam houses, the flight of steps up to the apartment is steep with short steps--can be difficult with large, heavy luggage. We are in mid 60's and had no problem. Astrid and Rick were easy to contact, answered all our questions, are most helpful and friendly, and met us promptly when we arrived. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Amsterdam! 08 April 2014 - 00:05:09

Rosie's Place is a fabulous apartment within easy walking distance of the centre of Amsterdam, but was also very quiet and peaceful, so a good nights sleep was possible to recharge the batteries for more sightseeing the following day. The apartment was in immaculate condition, very clean and tidy - it truely does look just like the photos. The owners were fabulous hosts, very welcoming, helpful and informative. I would definitely recommend this accomodation and will definitely be looking at its availability when I return to Amsterdam. 30 April 2014 - 11:34:10

Ditto to all the great reviews already written. Everything about this place is perfect for two people. The owners are awesome and have done a beautiful remodel on the unit. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of goodies, and we cooked dinner in several nights. The quality of the bedding and linens is amazing, as is the incredible shower! The private patio was the perfect place for morning coffee and afternoon wine. Good location. I'd definitely come back here. 08 May 2014 - 12:32:23

This was by far the best place I've stayed in Europe. My mom and I vacationed in Amsterdam for 5 days and stayed at Rosie's Place. Astrid (the owner) was beyond helpful- answering all our questions about local transportation and sights in the area. The apartment is in a very quiet neighborhood but also close to many restaurants, shops and bakeries- we were never bored. The place was very clean and had many amenities such as wine, tea and cookies when we arrived, radio, Wi-Fi and TV. The sun came out one evening so we were even able to enjoy the balcony. Great place to stay and both my mom and I highly recommend it! 16 May 2014 - 22:11:10

In our travels, my husband and I have stayed in many apartments, but none as nice as Rosie's Place. Astrid and Rick, the owners, live on the ground floor and the top two. Rosie's Place is the floor above the ground floor. Comfortable and modern, the self-contained apartment comes with lots of extras: everything from plush towels to fresh coffee. It is a pleasure to sit on the couch and read, listen to the bells from the nearby church, or sip wine on the balcony. The Jordaan is wonderful, safe area--quiet but with restaurants and shops nearby. What distinguishes Rosie's is what the owners provide: advice and assistance, going well beyond what is expected. Because Rick and Astrid (and their sons) are on site, guests live among the locals. They welcome visitors like friends. If you are looking for an impersonal dwelling, where an agency takes your money and offers no support, Rosie's is not for you. If, on the other hand, you like the idea of sharing a historic house with a lovely family who will help you with your plans if needed, look no further. In fact, email Astrid now. Don't delay. Once the word gets out, demands to stay at Rosie's will soar. 23 August 2014 - 20:48:15

My wife and I had a wonderful week-long stay at Rosie's Place. Our hosts, Astrid and Rick, were always helpful but never hovering, the location in the heart of the Jordaan is perfect, and the apartment itself is modern and extremely well kept up, on a quiet street, and within a few blocks of several excellent restaurants. We could literally walk to any of the major Amsterdam attractions (museums, historic homes, etc) and didn't need to use the excellent Amsterdam tram system. Rosie's Place has our highest recommendation and we hope to return in the near future. 11 October 2014 - 22:03:32

We stayed at Rick and Astrid's Apt. for the very first time, and it was terrific. Not only is the apartment well-appointed, but it has everything that one needs for a week, (or more) long stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything one needs to cook with - the stove is GREAT - dishes galore, fridge, oven, microwave, pots of every kind,'s amazing. The entire apartment is lovely and is designed with efficiency in mind...lots of towels in their wonderful bath, living room with TV, books, etc., comfortable bed. This is a place with people who are committed to showing visitors a very good experience. We are convinced that the location is the best in town, for those of us who want to explore the best local shops, Museums, and restaurants. And, Rick and Astrid are warm and inviting and are available to talk to and socialize with, if one is interested in finding out everything Amsterdam-ish. And, their two sons are a delight ! But they never intruded upon us in any way. We will be back for sure, as Rick and Astrid worked hard to give us the best travel experience for our time in Amsterdam. They were the downstairs neighbors who were there if we needed them. Thumbs Up ! Carol and Sara 12 November 2014 - 03:33:15

Rosies Place We had the pleasure of staying at Rosies Place in early December when the weather can be a bit challenging in Amsterdam. Each evening we looked forward to returning to our home away from home which provided such a cozy and comfortable accommodation after a day of museums and walking. The space was perfect for us. It is beautifully planned and designed providing a top-notch small kitchen, lovely bathroom, and the very best of mattresses. In addition there was plenty of space to store luggage and clothing in a cleverly designed closet area. With windows on both sides the space seems larger than its actual dimensions and provides a light and airy feel. The design is clean, modern, and spacious. It is meticulously cared for and every little detail seemed perfect. And .... the very part of the accommodation is the fact that Astrid and Rick are excellent hosts. The apartment is perfectly private but they are available at all times to help with questions, concerns, and inside-advice about Amsterdam. The written material and array of travellers magazines and guide books provided in the apartment was very helpful. We got a tip on a current photography exhibit from an Amsterdam magazine that we would not have know about and it proved to be a wonderful find. The location of the apartment could not be better. The Jordaan neighborhood was filled with little restaurants, bars, and shops and all the major sights and museums were within walking distance. The little streets of the Jordaan are so charming and the markets (the Saturday Food Market and the Monday Cloth Market) were so fabulous that it is worth planning to spend some time close to home if you should be so fortunate to rent Rosies Place. We give it our highest rating and very much hope to return someday. Abby and JoAnn 17 December 2014 - 00:52:36

We had an incredible experience in Amsterdam. Our hosts are exactly the type of people you want to meet in this world. Rosie's Place beats any hotel room hands down. We feel privileged to have stayed there and met the owners. We are planning our next visit. 08 June 2015 - 06:00:21

Out staying in Rosie's Place was great! At the first day we met Astrid, who was adorable and let us very comfortable to let our stuff at their kitchen while she finished cleaning the apartment. The Joordan neighborhood is by far the best do stay in Amsterdam, and near the apartment there are tons of good family restaurants (not chain restaurants). Rick and Astrid gave us privacy but were always available when we needeed (it was almost not necessary, since the apartment is well complete and there was everything we needeed). About the apartment itself: the bed is very comfortable, the shower is excellent (very easy to adjust the temperature and with very good pressure); in the kitchen we found everything we needeed to cook some meals, except maybe for an oven; in the bathroom we had soap, shampoo and toilet paper enough for our staying, and a couple of towels that were more than enough for a week; there's coffee machine (Astrid and Rick even let a lot of coffee capsules available), toaster, microwave, dishwasher in the kitchen. There is even an small room to put the luggage and coats. We didnt have the chance to meet Rick, but Astrid was awesome, we had a lot of fun talking to her. She was so nice that even let us at the airport at We definitely recommend Rosie's Place. And we'll be back for sure next time we're in Amsterdam! 10 June 2015 - 14:11:28

What can I say about this lovely place!! Words are not enough to explain what kind and fun people Astrid and Rick are. I still remember arriving on my first day. I travelled alone on this trip for the first time in my life. Upon my arrival, I no longer felt alone. Astrid and Rick welcomed me from the moment that I checked into their lovely apartment. I still remember hanging out with them the first night for a barbecue, music, and laughs. I felt that I was home, although I was over 4,000 miles away. As for the room, it is perfectly sized and immaculate. Astrid and Rick make sure that all of your home comforts are there in your room. As for the neighborhood, it was incredible. Not a tourist trap, but in part of the City that is truly alive and breathing. You feel that you are in the true Dutch part of Amsterdam. As far as I did venture away , I always felt great returning to my home in Amsterdam. That home is Rosie's place. I am already planning my next trip to the lovely City of Amsterdam, and I am certainly going to stay at Rosie's Place with the incredible Astrid and Rick. Thanks so much for everything guys. 12 June 2015 - 18:53:45

Lovely place clean with everything you need. Great hosts very welcoming and helpful. Right in the middle of the restaurants and activities. Would defiantly recommend and would stay there again in a heartbeat. 02 August 2015 - 05:04:44

An excellent place to stay, close to most sightseeing in Amsterdam. The unit has everything you need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. Astrid was so helpful and accomodating. She really went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you again for your hospitality! 05 October 2015 - 12:58:59

Our New Years trip to Amsterdam was especially memorable because of this rental! We were invited to celebrate with their family and friends (champagne, fireworks, and oliebollen) after the major fireworks show at Oosterdok. Astrid provided everything we could have possibly needed during our 4 evening stay. The comfortable bed, the Nespresso every morning, the fragrant bath supplies, and the fresh linens--all within this European-minimalist designed studio. The tram stop is a 3 blocks away so we purchased daily passes to get where we needed to quickly. Otherwise, it is a 15-25 minute walk to the main attractions. We liked being away from the loudness of the city center and the Jordaan district provided as a backdrop for some of our best canal photos. I would recommend getting The Holland Pass (Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, Heineken Experience, Canal Tour day and night, Cheese Tasting). Purchase your Anne Frank tickets online to avoid that line! You are renting the second floor of the hosts' home, so you have to be considerate of the noise you make. Walls are thin! Those stairs are very steep--very thankful for the assistance with our luggage! Otherwise, they are not a problem. Astrid and Rick did a fantastic job on the studio and I do hope they know all the little touches were very much appreciated! They were excellent hosts and we would certainly rent from them again, as well as recommend them to anyone visiting Amsterdam. 06 January 2016 - 23:21:21
Rosie's Place is owned by Astrid and Rick, who are very welcoming hosts. The charming neighborhood is great for walking, dining, shopping, and the apartment is spotlessly clean, with everything you need for your stay in Amsterdam. Public transportation is nearby, and many sights can be reached by walking. We recommend this property, which was accurately represented by the hosts. We hope to stay here again! 23 May 2016 - 17:09:17

Great place to stay! Astrid was outstanding! She was extremely helpful and patient. Since we arrived during the 2nd Christmas Day, she even made a reservation at a local restaurant just down the street and around the corner, as well as making recommendations for sightseeing on the canals. The apartment was extremely clean and had everything we needed as we cooked breakfast each morning. The location couldn't have been better - 5 minute walk to Anne Frank House. Although we didn't use the trolley, it was very close. We walked or used used UBER to get around and that was terrific as well. The neighborhood was very walkable to shops, grocery store and restaurants. Strongly urge you to stay here and enjoy Dutch hospitality and culture. 01 January 2018 - 18:55:00

Great studio right in the heart of the Jordan area, close to everything you would want to see and do in Amsterdam. Lots of cafes, restaurants and shops close by as well as canal tours and the Ann Frank house. Accommodation is well stocked, appreciated the bottle of white wine left by Rick & Astrid after a day of travel!! Apartment is great for 2, lots of towels, shampoo, soap etc. and comfy king sized bed. Astrid was very helpful with suggestions on everything and was always available for any questions we had. Would highly recommend. Hopefully we will be able to return one day. 06 October 2017 - 17:07:00
