About listing

This is our own apartment which we use when we come to Paris to stay as we live in the south-west of France. It is very comfortable and filled with lots of beautiful antiques and artwork that we have collected over the years; it feels very homely and of course very Parisian! The apartment is open plan with a large kitchen and living area and a spacious bedroom with a king size bed. It is located in one of the prime residential areas of Paris in the 8th arrondissement, yet is only a 3-minute walk from the Champs Elysees and all its marvels. This is a very chic area of Paris, surrounded by 4 and 5 stars hotels, plus luxury stores and amazing restaurants. If you want a shopping experience then this apartment is situated in the middle of the most exclusive shopping area of Paris. All the best shops in the world are located on your doorstep - Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Bvlgari, Armani, etc and the outlet store la Piscine. The location of the apartment gives you all the advantages of the Champs Elysees without the hustle and bustle on living on it, as it is tucked away just behind on a small quiet street. As this is a residential area there are bakeries, grocery stores, a post office and a chemist located just next to the apartment. It is really living the true Parisian experience. It is very safe and there are police cars constantly patrolling the area. Avenue Montaigne (most excusive shopping street in Paris) and the Arc de Triomphe also are just on your doorstep, along with the famous Lido cabaret, plus the Eiffel tower is a short stroll away too. Walking down towards the other end of the Champs Elysees is the Tuilleries gardens and in the lead up to Christmas this is the most beautiful spot in Paris as the avenue is set alight with lights and Christmas markets, plus summer and winter there is a huge ferries wheel, a must for a view of Paris buy night. About a 30-minute walk away you have the Louvre, the Palais Royal, Musee d’Orsay and beyond this is the Marais area. You really do not need to take public transport as all the major attractions are walking distance from the apartment or a quick stop on the central and safe metro line. The apartment is 70 square meters, which is huge for a one-bedroom apartment in Paris and is perfect if you need to entertain. The entry and living/dining room are on the ground floor and the bedroom is on the floor below. It is completely secured with a door code, another security door, then the apartment front door. This is a residential building with French occupants of high standing so it is very well maintained. The large windows of the apartment can be opened and have discreet security grills. There is a huge, fully equipped brand new kitchen, with everything required to cook a 5-course dinner, plus a large dinning table for 4 people, which would double as a lovely bright working area. All the appliances are brand new and of the highest quality. There is a refrigerator with small freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine/dryer, 4 cooking elements plus all new French cutlery and crockery plus everything else you would expect in a kitchen. Through to the living area is a lovely comfortable sofa, which folds out allowing a child to stay or the occasional guest. There is a large flat screen TV with cable and English channels, plus or course Wifi Internet through out the apartment. There is a telephone and all calls landline/mobile to USA, Canada and France are free. Take the staircase down and you arrive into a lovely bright and large bedroom, completely sound proof from the outside world. Great for getting over jetlag. It is what the French call sous sol (basement) however is nothing like a basement at all, it has a new ensuite bathroom and a window feature which provides plenty of light. Please note there is no direct sunlight - the window is a lighting effect, however as you will see from the photos it is very bright and luminous. There is a huge double wardrobe with plenty of room for hanging all clothes plus lots of room for all the shopping! The toilet is located here so you have easy access during the night. Please look at the stairs and take note they may not be suitable for elderly people or very young children. The bed is a brand new king size bed of 160cms, with all new luxury linen. Linen and towels will be provided and are include in the rental fee. Our concierge or myself will be there to meet you and show you through the apartment and answer any questions you may have about the apartment or Paris in general. If you want a memorable and very Parisian experience staying in a prime location then this truly is the best apartment plus we always look forward to meeting people from other places! We hope to hear from you soon.

We had a fantastic time staying in this new apartment. We needed something last minute and Anne was so helpful and accommodating. We have rented off VRBO before, but this experience was a particularly good one! The apartment is really well placed just by the Champs Elysees but there is a great local feeling to the area as it's just a couple of streets back. There is everything at your doorstep. The best thing about this apartment is the size, we have rented before in Paris but this was by far the best value for money. The apartment living area is huge and the kitchen is great for cooking in. Its bright and sunny and we were happy to eat at the apartment instead of going out. The bedroom is downstairs, which worked out well for us, it was cool and so peaceful and there is a very cleaver window which is backlit. We slept really well down there! The bathroom is brand new and spotless and it was nice having a such a large shower. There was enough cupboard space to hide our suitcases and all the shopping so we were really able to feel like we were living there, not just stopping over. We would definitely come back to this apartment, Anne was so helpful and everything was very straightforward. A really fantastic experience. 17 August 2013 - 09:59:41

The appartment is wunderfull, confortable, the homeowner is very-very helpfull. I was in Paris with my children for a week, it was an unforgettable week. The furniture is modern, the rooms, bath, all the house are very clean. The house is absolutely in downtown, 3 minutes walk from Champ Elysees. We travel 2-3 times a year, but that was the best appartman what we meet. If we will come back to Paris, we will rent this flat and we suggest it for our friends and for all turist. It is a HOME in Paris. Thks Anne Ildik from Budapest 09 May 2014 - 13:13:04

My family and I visited Paris in May and had such a great time. The apartment is very close to Champs Elysees and the amenities in the apartment were great! The apartment was very clean and Anne had left some Parisian treats for us as well. The apartment is also close to several metro stops which are just a few minutes away. I would definitely recommend this apartment to all my friends and family. Thanks for such an enjoyable stay in Paris! 04 June 2014 - 23:45:33

My wife and I stayed in this lovely apartment in mid-October. Ann was a delight to work with. The apartment was spotless (as the review title says) the photos and description do not do it justice. The upper level was large enough to be very comfortable. The refrigerator was more than large enough for us. The apartment location is an easy walk to the Champs Elysees (George V metro) and the Arc de Triomphe (we rode the Air France bus from CDG and walked to the apartment). Ann provided a bottle of wine, some cream, and a number of Nescafe coffee packages. There is also a nice bagel place just around the corner if you want to grab a quick bit before heading out. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. 01 November 2014 - 14:01:57

We just returned from a very nice 6 day, 5 night stay in April, 2015 at this spacious, updated apartment. It is ideally located very close to all the major attractions around the Champs Elysees, close proximity to Avenue George V, and right on the border of the 8th and 16th Arrondissements. We were within 10-15 minute walks to several Michelin 3 star restaurants, the Grand Palais, Petit Palais, Rue St. Honore du Faubourg for shopping, 20 minute walk across the Left Bank to the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides, and about 40 minute walk to the Lourve. The 16th Arrondissement area of Avenue Victor Hugo - another great area to explore was 10-15 minutes in the other direction. Anne, the owner, was fantastic. She was extremely responsive from the beginning with the reservation process all the way through the arrival and the end of the stay. I corresponded via email and her responses to any questions I had were almost instantaneous. Such a lovely and warm person - also very flexible and reasonable, always willing to help. Regina, the gardienne/manager/housekeeper, met us when we arrived and was very pleasant and accommodating. She only speaks French - but managed to communicate with us anyway! The apartment is very nice - modern furnishings mixed with very Parisien touches. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you possibly need - new appliances, washer/dryer, flatware, dishes, pans, etc., and Anne even welcomes her guests with a bottle of wine, and other treats. It felt like a home away from home and has all the amenities required for an excellent 5 night stay. We would try to stay here again when we return to Paris for a visit. Thank you, Anne, for having us! 30 April 2015 - 03:08:42

We had a great experience at this apartment. The apartment is comfortable, clean, and as described. The location is great, we felt safe in this neighborhood. It is very close to the George V and Kleber metro stops, which go directly or connect to most tourist destinations. You can also walk to many of these destinations from the apartment. (Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elysees, Eiffel Tower, and more.) The housekeeper/concierge is very nice. She does not speak English, but gets her point across. Anne, the owner is very available and responsive in the event of questions or concerns by phone or text. The kitchen and bathroom and modern/updated. The kitchen is very organized and well stocked. Better than most apartments, homes, or condominiums we have rented. As noted in previous reviews, you cannot deny there is an odor in the apartment each time you enter. It airs out when you open a window, and you also accommodate to it. It is an old building, like many in Paris, so it must happen to many of them, but you wonder what it is. We would stay in the apartment again. 09 October 2016 - 18:31:00

We had stayed in the apartment from September 13th through 19th. Apartment itself is very spacious, everything is as described, and location is wonderful. Everything (attractions, shopping) is within walking distance, and owner's manual provided great tips on shopping and dining. Building is very secured, and communication with the owner's son was great. Everything in the apartment is brand new, many items still have factory labels on. We will certainly recommend this apartment to our friends for their trips. 30 September 2013 - 23:00:18

I was in Paris attending a conference and I brought my family along. From early on with communication, Anne was very responsive and provided additional information we needed. Upon arrival everything was set, Anne had even a bottle of wine for us! which was very nice. It is a very nice well kept, clean apartment just like in the photos and much much closer to Arc de Troumphe and famous Champs Elysee areas. We didn't use the metro but could certainly see several stops all around the area. The binder prepared has some really useful information and we used that to further refine our plans for exploring Paris. We were able to walk to the Eiffel tower and Place de la Concorde which were within 15-20 minutes walking. We enjoyed our stay in Paris, we loved this apartment and its great location and if we ever go to Paris again, we will sure consider this as our first option where to stay. 11 November 2013 - 22:15:06

My wife and I decided to spend Christmas in Paris (a 10 day trip), and wanted to stay near the Champs Elysees. This apartment was an ideal location, just a short walk to the Champs Elysees which we walked parts of every day and/or evening, and we took different streets each time so to enjoy this wonderful part of Paris. The Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel tower are easy walks from the apartment, as are a choice of Metro stations. Just a few steps away are restaurants, a small grocery store and a choice of boulangeries. The apartment was roomy and very comfortable. The stairs to the bedroom (as mentioned in the apartment description) could be a challenge for some people, but we are in our mid-60s and managed them quite well. The street level entrance to the apartment was very much appreciated after walking Paris for hours. The kitchen is well appointed, and we made a lovely Christmas dinner. Anne and Guy have a binder of information on what is nearby and it proved quite helpful. We had a delightful time staying here. 23 January 2014 - 17:40:04

My family of 4 (including 2 teens) had a tremendous 6 night stay in this apartment. The pictures are spot-on; clean, modern and well appointed. Great location with easy walks to the Eiffel Tower and The Louvre. One block up is a bike rack for the city rentals. I suggest renting a bike for a ride to Notre Dame. We stumbled upon a nearby farmers market on the Saturday of our stay and enjoyed great meals as a result. Also, the Tapas restaurant located a few doors up the street was a treat. Anne (the owner) was extremely easy to work with. I highly recommend this apartment. 20 June 2014 - 21:49:59

My family of 4 stayed 6 nights in this apartment which is just like in the photos: warm, confortable, spacious, clean, modern, very well equiped and located in a privileged area in Paris just a few blocks from Champs Elysees and George V avenues. We could walked very easly to main areas of Paris and had a great time. Streets around the apartment are so nice, close to good restaurants, hotels and shops. The apartment is located in the ground floor of a beautiful building. Anne is very well organized and very kind. She had a binder with recomendations of the city and instructions for all appliances of the apartment, tourist guides, good linens and nice towels for all of us etc. All rooms are great, kitchen is well equiped and has a great Nespresso coffee machine and Anne left nespresso capsules, tea bags, and other french goodies to welcome us. Specially she was so kind to answer all our calls when we had questions. It was so easy to rent the apartment and a very good experience. Definetively I would recommend this apartment to my firends and would stay there again. Thank you for all your attentions. 14 July 2014 - 19:17:45

We arrived very tired after travelling from New Zealand to be greeted by Regina, the building/appartment manager who, although she spoke only French and our French is at best, basic, was able to welcome us and help us work out how everything worked, where the local supermarkets are, and things we needed to survive - without using Google Translate! The owner, Anne, was out of town, but had been really helpful in letting us know how to get into the building, who to call (English speaking) if there was a problem, etc, and was easy to arrange the booking and payment with. After we left, she offered to post us the clothing we had accidentally left in the washing machine. Outstanding. Situated in the middle of the mid-range hotel area on the border of the 8th and 16th arrondissments, this apartment is perfect for a stay in Paris. There are three boulangerie, a couple of chocolaterie, two churches (Catholic and Presbyterian) two supermarkets, and countless bars and restaurants within 1-2 blocks. The area is very English-friendly if you are polite and courteous. It is between the Champs Elysees and the Eiffel Tower, and up river from the major museums and galleries. We stayed 2 weeks and felt like we were living there. ...and the shopping!... from not the cheapest but reasonable, right up to iconic brands at the most expensive end, but whatever you want is there - either in the immediate Champs Elysees area, or by exploring the 16th arr. It was also close to the no. 12 Metro (Kleber is 5 min walk) or the CDG Etoile station (RER and Metro hub) is about 7 min walk up to the Arc de Triomphe. One of the best weekend markets in Paris is at the end of the street (Ave Lena), also The bedroom and bathroom on the lower ground floor meant we had total privacy. The living/kitchen/dining on the ground level meant we could open the windows and let the buzz of Paris come in whenever we wanted. Yet, so close to the Champs Elysees and very busy parts of Paris night and day, the appartment was remarkably quiet and relaxing. Thank you, Anne. We will try to come again! 22 April 2015 - 15:34:44

The apartment is exactly as shown. Lovely, roomy kitchen and sofa area. Downstairs bedroom came in very handy during the Paris heatwave as there is no A/C in the apartment [but that is pretty common with most of Paris including many street cafes]. When it was 102 degrees (F) one day, the apartment was extremely warm despite keeping the window treatments drawn...not unbearable, but as an American very used to regular A/C, this was different for us. Everything is very clean. Location is absolutely perfect...right by the Arc de Triomphe and George V train station....perfect location. Great restaurants and grocery stores right around the corner. The whole experience was perfect! Despite the apartment being on the first floor, it is very safe and well secured. Neighborhood was great...never felt unsafe (and I traveled alone with my two teenage kids). Anne is exceptional to work with and was very responsive throughout the issues whatsoever. And Regina, who met us at the apartment, was very lovely despite speaking no English. I would not recommend the apartment to anyone having mobility issues as despite it being a ground floor apartment, it is difficult to get down the narrow spiral staircase. If you have no issues with mobility, the stairs are not an issue at all. You will need nothing for you stay except your suitcase and toiletries. Anne provides everything including a blow dryer. Thank you Anne for a fabulous week. Your apartment was lovely and served us well for a wonderful family vacation in Paris. We made many wonderful memories and enjoyed our stay immensely. We would definitely rent again. Merci! 11 July 2015 - 13:49:55

We stayed here last summer in early July with our two children, 9 & 12, and it was perfect. The information the owners have at the house is very helpful. Great location! It was very hot when we arrived in Paris, so our evenings in the apartment were too hot. You can't leave the windows opening during the day as it's on the street level. We opened all the windows at night but still too hot. I would recommend a little portable fan for the summer months for guests for those very warm nights. Other than that, it was perfect and we would stay again. The owners are great to communicate with and very helpful. 22 July 2015 - 18:25:44

The apartment was lovely, just perfect for my husband and myself during our week stay. Anne was wonderful to work with, very quick to respond, and her concierge that greeted us made sure we got settled. It can get a bit stuffy downstairs in the bedroom, so I would recommend getting a small fan to help. There were wonderful cafes, bakeries and shops nearby. We were just a few blocks from the metro and could walk or use the metro to get anywhere we needed. Highly recommend! 02 November 2015 - 01:12:53

Wonderful location with the best kitchen in Paris, very well equipped and spacious. We are frequent travelers to Paris and found this apartment was one of the best we have found to date. We were in Europe for the Christmas markets and used the apartment for 5 weeks as a base for overnight trips by train to the many wonderful markets. We truly enjoyed our trip and this apartment was part of it. Lots of living space in a secure building. We also spent a lot of time in Paris, It was easy walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumphe, and Champs-Elysees. For those who like to walk the streets of Paris, you can continue on to the Place de Concorde, Grand Palais and Pont Alexandre. The metro stop, George V, is a five minute walk from the apartment and becomes your access point to the rest of Paris. We found the privacy and noise of a street level apartment not a problem. The concierge, Regina, was very helpful, congenial, and kept the apartment spotless for us. Anne Charon, the owner, was equally as helpful and very willing to go out of her way to insure a great stay. We have already recommended this apartment to our friends. 03 January 2016 - 18:09:09

The apartment is clean, everything is in working order---high tech induction stove top, microwave, oven, washer/dryer. There are plenty of clean dishes and cooking utensils, paper supplies, towels, cleaning supplies, etc. The bed was comfortable. The location can't be beat----no noise from the street or surroundings but very close to the Arc de Triomphe, very safe, and close to the metro and buses. Convenient close grocery store and bakeries The direct France Air bus line from the airport was so convenient. Anne is considerate and provides welcome snacks and was very attentive to any concerns we had. The cleaning lady was also friendly and checked on us to see if we needed anything. As mentioned by others, the stair are narrow, but my daughter and I had no problem with them. The bathroom is located in the basement attached to the bedroom. As it is an older building, when the apartment was closed up, we noticed a smell (some days stronger than others), but once the windows were opened for fresh air, it cleared up quickly. It was a minor distraction that is likely with most older buildings in the area. 09 April 2016 - 15:08:50

My husband, son (teenager) and I stayed here the last week or so in December. The location is amazing, you can walk to almost everything. The apartment has everything you need and is super cute, and Anne, the owner, provides so much valuable information about the apartment and Paris, that alone is worth the stay. And she is quick to respond to any questions. I would say the spiral stairs leading to the bed and bath are a bit of a challenge, however, Anne discloses that in her overview of the property, and we managed just fine, carrying our delicious Nescaf coffee down them just fine! Also, there is an odor from the bathroom, from being an older building and downstairs, but this would not prevent us from staying there again. I imagine all apartments in Paris have their quirks! The kitchen is modern the apartment is decorated nicely, and honestly we thought Anne was an amazing host with a wealth of information. Again, location is fabulous, grocery, cafes, champs Elysees a stones throw away...I highly recommend this apartment. 06 January 2018 - 00:52:00
