About listing

NB: IF THIS APARTMENT IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR YOUR DATES, PLEASE CHECK OUR OTHER APARTMENT VRBO# 411536 , WHICH IS ITS TWIN BROTHER !!! OUR APARTMENT A luxurious and cozy apartment with a Breathtaking Panoramic View on the Seine River in the heart of the most romantic city in the world: Paris! Everything you need will be at your disposal: Flat screen TV with Cable, High Speed Internet, Fully Equipped Kitchen, Large Comfortable Bed, Washer, Spacious Shower, Elevator, etc... Ile de la Cite is the most prestigious location because you are in the epicenter of Paris! The Notre Dame Cathedral is just steps from your door; The Hotel de Ville is just across the bridge; St. Michel, the Place des Vosges, the Marais, and the Latin Quarter are just a 5 min. walk away! The stunning Eiffel Tower is just a stroll away by foot down the river or by one of Paris' famous fly boats. The apartment is accessible by all the major metro stations (Metro Lines 1,4,10, RER B..) and there is a new bike rental station around the corner - a great new Eco-friendly way to see the city. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. Is the Apartment in a safe area? Yes. It's in the heart of Paris where it always lively; the streets are well-lit at night; there is a code to enter into the building; and of course we're always near by if you're ever in need! 2. Where is the nearest grocery store? There is a large supermarket on Rue de Rivoli not far from the apartment, however; the area around the Marais and the Ile St. Louis are known for their small specialty stores where you can find the best bread, cheese, wine and meat in Paris. 3. Can I make calls from the Apartment? How much are they? There is a phone in the apartment, and you can call to the US for FREE with our carrier! Some other destinations are free as well, please e-mail us with a list of countries you would like to call, and we'll let you know how little our carrier will charge. You can also buy a pre-paid MobiCarte, which is a SIM card you can buy at any Tabac, to use with your own cell phone here. 4. How do I get there from the airport? How much is it? -- TAXI : 35-45 Euro -- Direct Train (RER B) from Charles de Gaulle Airport and Orly Airport to Chatelet or St. Michel metro stations : less than 9 euro/per person + a short walk to the apartment 5. How do I get around? There is a vast metro/bus/train system in Paris that is easy to navigate, although the best mode of transport when you stay in the center of all the activity is by foot! There is also a hop-on/hop-off sightseeing bus, as well as a hop on/hop off sightseeing boat! The latest marvel is the new bike rental system! You can find one on almost any street corner - just rent it for however long you wish with your credit card (at what looks like an ATM) and off you go! (You can even return it to a different location, too). 6. How much would it be to stay in such a great location at a Hotel instead? In fact there are no hotels directly on the Seine River on the Ile de la Cite, that is what makes our apartment so special! And we have all the amenities of a hotel - plus so much more! RENTAL TERMS The payment conditions depend on the rental term: For short term rentals (four nights to one month), we ask an immediate payment of half of the rent (usually a bank transfer) and the payment of the other half at arrival. A security deposit of € 500 is also required. For long term rentals (one month to one year), we ask the first two months rent as an immediate payment and a two months security deposit. The rent is including TV cable, internet, phone calls for several foreign countries (USA, Canada,Europe, ...) The rent includes all utilities + electricity (not exceeding 50€/week). The rent may change according to the season. Keywords: Apartment

After vacationing in Cte d'Azur we made a brief stop in Paris and were very fortunate to stay in this charming studio on le de la Cit! The studio was very well equipped to include a espresso maker. The bed, a "pull-down", was very comfortable giving us very restful sleep during our stay. There are no words that can describe the postcard view of the Seine and Htel de Ville! The scenery was ever changing with barges and tour boats constantly navigating the French river. There are few bad locations to stay in Paris, for the public transportation system is one of the best in the world. However the location of this studio is perfect and we hardly had a need to use the system. St. Michel Notre Dame RER B station is within walking distance, making transportation to Orly or CDG airports very fast and inexpensive. Grocery stores (Monoprix), butcher shops and great patisseries are all located steps away from the studio. I recently retired from a long career as an airline pilot flying international routes. The "travel benefits" one of the perks that came with the career, gave us the opportunity to travel the world and stay in many hotels, apartments, sailboats, recreational vehicles and tents. The stay at the studio at le de la Cit was one of the most memorable of our travels! I sincerely apologize to Marie-Christine and Mark, the wonderful owners of this beautiful studio on the banks of the Seine, for not posting a review in earlier fashion. 05 April 2014 - 15:28:13
  2. The location of this apartment is wonderful. What more could you ask for then being around the corner from Notre Dame when you are vacationing in Paris. Unless it is having a studio that is well appointed with everything you need and a fabulous view. Read the reviews (I don't want to repeat everything) and look at the pictures - they are all true. To top all that, Marie-Christine is a charming landlady. Thank you Marie-Christine for all the wonderful Florence restaurant recommendations and making sure we had a 5:30AM taxi! It was our first stop on our month long European holiday and the perfect place to recover from jet lag as well as enjoy Paris. This is our go-to place in Paris from now on. 20 April 2014 - 23:48:48

This was our first stop for a month-long Europe trip from the U.S. The location took our breath away. Easy metro ride from CDG airport. The first thing we saw coming out of the metro stop was the Notre Dame Cathedral and the river. The apartment is a 5 min. walk away. The one room apartment was cozy and a perfect escape from days spent walking all over the city. The view of the river was mesmerizing. Great neighborhoods all around within walking distance and easy to get away from the super-touristy areas. Marie-Christine and her son were super helpful and made our stay very easy. They had lots of suggestions and information for local restaurants and offered to print out our travel tickets for our next location. There are plenty of tourist restaurants not worth going to, and we found if we stuck to Marie-Christine and her son's suggestions, we could not go wrong! Fantastic hosts. We definitely hope to come back. 28 June 2014 - 17:02:24

We visited Paris for 10 days in April and loved this apartment. When we arrived, I felt as though I had already seen it in person, as the photos are very representative. Marc and Marie-Christine are such gracious landlords. The view out the windows will take your breath away. We loved leaving the windows open all night long. We would stay there again without hesitation!! 02 August 2014 - 17:14:57

Our stay in this wonderful little flat was exactly what we wanted to experience. Marc and Marie-Christine were wonderful land-lords and we really appreciated all the little touches that they provided for those that stay in this unit. Their advice and assistance was appreciated and helpful. We had everything that we could have needed (plus more) and felt very comfortable and pleased with our stay. The location is perfect for getting around and we found ourselves walking to most locations even in the winter. We even found a favorite little caf (St. Regis Caf) that we found ourselves at quite often. Don't hesitate to reserve this property, you won't regret it! 17 January 2015 - 01:00:56

This is a charming studio in a perfect location with every amenity you could need. The owners are attentive and delightful. The Murphy bed was very comfortable. Highly recommended! 23 March 2015 - 11:12:14

Marie-Christine and Marc are lovely, professional people, who take great pride in providing a quality experience for their clients. Ease of contact, check-in (including providing a place to wait), check-out, taxi help, etc. etc. The studio apartment is in perfect shape, with a nice sized shower and all other amenities as described. Traveling on my own, at age 60, I felt perfectly safe in the apartment and the area. The elevator is exceptionally quiet and opens right at the door to the apartment. What a wonderful experience to be at the very center of Paris and able to come home to this quiet abode with the $$$$ view! Highly recommended! 09 April 2015 - 17:28:09

This beautiful apartment overlooking the river was everything we hoped it would be. Perfect location and view. Walking distance to most major attractions and wonderful restaurants. Since this was our first visit to Paris, Marc provided us with helpful hints to make our visit more enjoyable. Would highly recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Paris. Would definitely stay here again. 12 April 2015 - 02:37:34

This review will be short because what more needs to be said besides, this place is perfect? An absolutely charming small apartment that's been very well laid out to maximize the space; a superb view; a petite elevator if you're not up for stairs; fantastic location. Marie-Christine and Marc are really lovely people and are wonderfully responsive, welcoming and helpful. We appreciated the apartment's amenities (small refrigerator and microwave, which we used; small stovetop and washer/dryer as well), but we also appreciated sitting by the window in that pretty space and gazing out the tall windows at the lights on the Seine. I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we come back to Paris. Let me rephrase that: THIS is where we're staying when we come back to Paris! 13 May 2015 - 21:05:30

We stayed in May 2015. Marie Christine and Marc were excellent: they welcomed us warmly at the agreed time, helped us move in, and ensured we had all we needed for a pleasant stay. They also organised a taxi for us. The location of the apartment is excellent, with a great view. It was lovely to return to, after our excursions in Paris. We will look forward to returning. Thankyou Marie Christine and Marc. 26 May 2015 - 13:40:08

My husband and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary in Paris. I was thrilled with Marie-Christine & Mark's LOVELY apartment. Both were kind and hospitable hosts...couldn't have asked for more! Both greeted us upon arrival and gave us much information about the apartment and the city. The studio apartment was perfectly located along the river and we looked forward to relaxing in it after a long day of walking and discovering the city. The view of the river was spectacular!! My husband and I fell in love with the city. We cannot wait to come back to Paris and to stay in Marie-Christine & Mark's apartment again! 11 July 2015 - 03:22:24

My husband and i spent 5 nights at Marie Christine and Marc"s apartment. We received such a warm welcome and the apartment has everything you could need to make your stay comfortable, down to a supply of water and an excellent bottle of wine in the fridge! The apartment is laid out with such care and precision..everything is still accessible even when the Murphy bed is down. The location and of course the view are unbeatable. The only negative (not in the owners control) is the lack of a cross breeze but they do have a fan which helped a lot. Marie Christine is one of the best owners we have ever dealt with in terms of communication. She and Marc were there exactly when they said at check in and checkout. A tip for the damage deposit of you don't want to end up with 500 euro or pay credit card fees. ..bring the equivalent in your own local currency...as long as everything is in order, you get it back at checkout. Been home 3 days and missing it already. 17 July 2015 - 09:15:11

Everything about this apartment was superb. The hosts, Marie Christine and Marc, were warm, gracious and very helpful: from careful explanation of the use of the lift, appliances and telephone; to local grocery shopping advice; to assistance with booking a taxi to the airport and help with luggage. L'Isle de la Cite is as central as you can be in Paris, with outstanding views of the magnificent Hotel de Ville across the river, proximity to metro stations, and at the beginning and end of the day, a spectacular view of a variety of barges and river boats passing by on the Seine. The apartment is beautifully designed to feel luxurious while accommodating storage needs. Missing it already! 31 July 2015 - 13:46:37

This is very good quality compact accommodation in a perfect location on the Ile de Cite with great, welcoming hosts. A great place to stay for a few days. 18 September 2015 - 05:48:33

We were so happy to return to Paris and to this perfect little apartment! It's a beautifully laid-out studio, spotlessly clean, with a wonderful view across the Seine to the Hotel de Ville and the towers of St-Gervais-et-St-Protais. In the mornings, we made tea and coffee and enjoyed the croissants that we had picked up the day before, and each evening, after a long happy day of wandering through the city, we sat on the sofa and watched the lights of the boats as they headed back to their berths. The apartment's central location means that it's easy to walk to almost everywhere that you'd like to go (and the metro isn't far, if walking doesn't appeal). The building and the street are quiet and calm, just right for winding down after a delicious dinner in a neighborhood brasserie. Marie-Christine and Marc are generous hosts, and we're so grateful that they made this place possible. This was our second stay with them, and we hope to come back many times. 25 October 2016 - 04:41:24

We were blessed to find this apartment on the seine and around the corner from Notre Dame. Marie-Christine and Marc were waiting for us at the door and couldn't have been more hospitable. They patiently showed us the apartment and explained how everything worked. It is the second floor of a very secure building with a lift. It is close to the Batobus(hop on/off) ferry which we used to visit attractions. We would stay at apartment again in a heart beat. Great facilities in apartment 06 July 2017 - 12:41:00

Would give this apartment a 10/10 if only the bed had been more comfortable . The mattress must be getting a bit old as woke up with sore hips and back etc .. same for my boyfriend. Was like sleeping on my Aunts old pull out sofa. If you took the bed out of the equation it was a terrific place. Never turned on the TV once as looking at the view was entertainment enough. Great bathroom and well supplied kitchen. Glad to have a washer/dryer. Lift up to the apartment small, my boyfriend and I barely fit in and we are small people. Really enjoyed how easy it was to get tonthings from the apartment and lots of very close great restaurants and markets. Really enjoyed our stay except for the bed! 05 November 2017 - 01:26:00

Highly recommended. You have the Seine and Hotel de Ville (City Hall) always in view. Great view, great location; if you don't already know Paris, this is a perfect base to explore from. Close to many metro lines, but you can easily walk almost everywhere from Marais to Louvre, D'Orsay/St. Germain and back. Apartment is very comfortable; not large, but equivalent space to a hotel room (only with kitchen included). Well stocked with "extras" you might otherwise have to run out to buy. Marie is a gracious and helpful host (rather than a landlord or management company) and highly accommodating. We couldn't have been more pleased, and will return. 02 December 2017 - 12:48:00

We spent eight days over the Christmas holidays at Marie Christine's studio apartment on the island of Cite in the middle of the River Seine. While the apartment is small, it is very well organized, spotlessly clean with a well equipped kitchenette. The bed is comfortable and can be folded up into the wall for added space during the day, however we never found the need to do this. The views from the apartment are romantically charming and beautiful. The traffic on the River Seine can be mesmerizing and makes for interesting breakfast conversation. The location is a short and very pleasant walk to Notre Dame, several subway stops and a wide variety of different restaurants and shops on the islands of Cite and Ile Saint Louis. If you are coming in from Charles de Gaulle airport you can take the RER B line and get dropped off a couple of blocks from the apartment. The great location, the simplicity of the layout, the cleanliness of the place make this an ideal spot for a couple looking to spend a few days in one of the most beautiful cities in the world. If you are looking for an 'island' vacation, this is the place for you. 03 January 2018 - 16:51:00
