About listing

My comfortable and warm flat is the ideal launch pad to explore London. Located in Kensington & Chelsea, it has outstanding transport links; arrive anywhere in London fast with no hassle. The garden offers extra depth and tranquility. Recently installed solid oak floor. Enjoy! Modern, Well Equipped, 3 Bedroom Flat in Central London - Sleeps up to 8. Half a block from Earls Court Tube, Zone 1. The property is a lower ground floor flat. Windows are all double glazed. It features a spacious master bedroom with a convenient en-suite shower room and a second double bedroom with a bunk bed. We have also recently converted utility room to provide a quirky and cosy little single bedroom, ideal for a single guest or perhaps one of the kids! We also provide a 3-seater sofa-bed in the lounge, allowing the flat to sleep 2 extra if needs-be. The main bathroom has both bath and shower available. The main living area is an open plan space, featuring a fully equipped, modern kitchen with washing machine, dining table & chairs, and a comfortable lounge area with sofas and television. Outside is a lovely intimate garden (70 square meters), with table, chairs, parasol and even a barbecue - ideal for relaxing at the end of a long day in the city (provided the British weather behaves!). There are outdoor electrical sockets and lights in the garden. Wifi broadband internet is also provided. Please note neither the flat nor garden is wheelchair accessible. The area is well lit and well covered by CCTV. Walking alone late at night is commonplace. The flat is located on a main road so you can expect some noise in the front bedrooms. We have mitigated this with double glazing in the small bedroom and triple glazing in the master bedroom. You soon become accustomed to the hustle and bustle of London life. William is my site manager and neighbour and he helps with the day to day running. He is very open and is ready and willing to answer your questions during your stay. If you need help with something during your stay please ask him or myself. The location is great, but apartment a bit small and the street is very loud in the evenings. The special windows help, but if you want any cool air in the evenings of summer or air circulation, not very accommodating in the two front bedrooms especially, because you need to close window for quite and in turn makes it very warm for sleeping in summer. And no fans or air conditioning.Towels and bed linens are a bit worn and would have appreciated face cloth and a top sheet as to warm to cover up with quilt/comforter and also some kitchen towels would be helpful. Also apartment could use a good deep clean, A few spider webs and such and mold spores in the bathrooms which poses an issue for me especially, as I do actually have an allergy and caused nasal and head congestion for me. House manager seemed friendly and accommodating, but never actually came to introduce himself or go over anything. Owner was very attentive thru email prior to our arrival and gave some good suggestions for local establishments and such. 25 July 2016 - 09:41:00

Great place great location Front room noisy - street noise but we wore ear plugs - also weather was warm and due to noise we coukdnt keep the windows open in front so a fan to keep it cooler would be a huge help. The patio was so nice to make use of and everything was clean and easy to find what we needed ! 11 August 2016 - 13:26:00

We had a great stay at the flat and found it as we expected. William, the neighbor, was the point of contact during the stay and he was really helpful. It was good to know that if we had needed help then he was at hand. The flat was well laid out and was clean and tidy. It had everything we needed. The garden was fantastic, I imagine it would be great to use in the summer. The facility to store luggage for some time after our check out was very helpful. 14 January 2015 - 00:45:00

We thought the flat was ideal. While it seemed designed for a family with children, we found that it worked well for five adults. The two small bedrooms were cozy, and the sofa bed was comfortable and easy to use. The master bedroom with ensuite worked for two. There was a fair amount of street noise at times, but I suppose one can't be so close to Warwick Road and not expect some noise. A minor nuisance. The important thing is that the location is ideal. The Underground station is very convenient. Tesco is a few blocks away. On Earl's Court Road there are restaurants, food shops, fast food, banks, pubs, and a Starbucks. Last but certainly not least, the owner was very easy to deal with. The custodian lives nearby and was always available. For value and the overall experience, I give it an A+++. We definitely want to stay here again. 30 May 2016 - 00:12:00

Clean and well stocked flat. Great water pressure for showers and plent of hot water. Sofas a bit worn but fairly comfortable. Noisy busy street at all hours but nothing to be done about that! Steps away from tube and shopping. Overall a very good experience and would stay there again. 07 December 2016 - 14:13:00

This property was located in a wonderful location! It was definitely not frequented by tourists so we felt like part of the neighborhood. The flat was perfect for our family of 5. My kids loved the bunk beds & we loved that they had somewhere to hangout after a long day! The traffic was noisy out front but we were well aware of that to begin with & it just felt like we were really in London. We have been 2other times before & stayed in various parts & it was just as noisy. It didn't bother us or my kids at all. The neighborhood was great - just down the road were restaurants, shops & a grocery store. Everything we needed was right there. The tube station was very convenient too with a direct train to Heathrow (very handy with kids & luggage). William, the caretaker, was fantastic. He gave us lots of suggestions on places to eat and was very friendly. Thanks for a great trip! 19 April 2017 - 12:08:00

This flat served our family of 5 very well. The location is the biggest advantage. The Earls Court Tube station is a block away, a bus stop is right outside, and shops, pubs and at least one bank are a block and a half away. There is a Tesco Express only a block away, and a large Tesco only a half mile away. We easily walked to the Kensington High Street in about 10-15 minutes. We often took the bus to get to our destination of the day, and it provided a lot of sightseeing opportunities, and we took the Tube home at night when we were tired and wanted to travel more quickly. The site manager, William, was very sweet and accommodating, and waited up for us when our flight was delayed and we didn't arrive until 1am. He even brought us a couple bottles of wine and snacks so we could unwind for the night without having to go out to a shop! The flat is decorated in a very charming manner, and there is ample seating on couches and chairs around a dining table. The terrace is lovely, and we breakfasted out there one morning. The water pressure is amazing! I'll list out my complaints, which are minor, only to give information. There is no A/C, which is stated. Even though the weather was pleasant during our stay, and cool at night, we were a little warm at night. We used the fans. Had the temperature been much warmer, we would have been quite uncomfortable. We could open the windows, but there are no screens so I wasn't comfortable leaving them open after we went to bed. If you do sleep with the windows open, especially in the front bedroom, the city noise is quite loud; this is also stated. It didn't bother us, since we used to live in NYC and actually like the city noises. The towels are rather flimsy, but they are clean and not torn. There are no washcloths provided. The bathrooms are clean, but the smaller bathroom had a lot of mold spores in the corners of the shower. The kitchen also had mold spores in the tile grout. The larger bathroom had a shower/tub, but the curtain didn't wrap around the entire shower, and the water sprayed all over (great water pressure!) so we just decided to stop using it because of the mess. There is no top sheet on the beds. Finally, this is a "garden" flat, remember, so if you have any trouble with stairs, be cautious about staying here. The stairs leading down to the flat are quite steep. Again, the complaints are really just for informational purposes. I would likely stay here again. 05 July 2017 - 18:59:00

Alex's place was ideally suited and located for our stay in London. I was there for work, and brought along my boys (10yo) and parents so that we could intersperse some tourism. The layout was perfect for our needs. Boys loved the bunks, and the location of this room in the flat meant that it was quiet (and dark!) so they slept great (and late!). The master BR with ensuite for my parents suited well, and there were sufficient ways of darkening and quieting the room to counter the long summer days and the street noise. The 3rd bedroom is tucked away at the entrance and though cozy, allowed plenty of room for me and my things, and I too slept comfortably in the single bed. The main bath was spacious and had a great shower. There were convenient stores for provisions (Tesco express close by, full Tesco not much farther) and the Earls Court metro stop offered many restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The metro station has District, Circle, and Piccadilly lines which meant easy transport from Heathrow (express to Paddington, transfer to Earls Court) and also to my meetings near westminster. The patio allowed us to sip wine in the evening before dinner and again after kids were in bed, and enjoy the amazing weather that we experienced in London. Yes, as other reviewers have said, there is street noise. Don't let this deter you from staying here. Alex and William were very helpful and accommodating esp when I made an error with my reservation and needed to add an extra night - they helped us beyond expectation. I highly recommend!!! 30 July 2017 - 09:20:00

I absolutely loved staying in Alex's flat with my family and would definitely stay there again! Everything from the friendly welcome by the site manager William to the fresh clean smelling linen made our stay fantastic. The showers are also great, powerful and impeccable, you can tell they have done some work with the bathrooms as they really look tip top. The flat is well decorated and clean, it shows that it is well looked after. We arrived early morning and had a perfect English cup of tea. There were tea bags waiting for us and milk in the fridge. We were able to leave our luggage and it being so central, we could start our touristing straight away. In the evening we went to a lovey Indian restaurant very near by, the Star of India. There were a few restaurants and pubs to chose from so great if you are staying a few nights. Having the supermarket literally on our doorstep meant that we could get fresh breakfast first thing in the morning. Delicious croissants. It was warm so we had our breakfast in the garden which is a haven in such a big city. Alex's flat has made our stay very memorable and hope to stay here again one day. Definitely one to recommend. 07 September 2017 - 02:51:00
  11. This flat was perfect for our traveling party of 6, nothing plush, but certainly comfortable, with all the amenities, and the best part is the location. One block from the Tube, and also one block from Earl's Court, a street lined with restaurants and pubs and stores and pharmacies. William, the manager, was friendly and helpful in explaining everything we needed to know about our stay. Alex was away, but was very prompt in his responses to my questions. I would definitely recommend Alex's place for anyone visiting London! 06 October 2017 - 12:22:00

Beautiful house, big and clean, with a very nice garden!!! 80 mt from earl's court tube station, 200 mt from a supermarket. William, the neighboor, takes care of you during your stay. Everything was ok! Alexander, the owner, always reply to my mails for give me all the information I needed. Absolutely I recommend it!!! 25 February 2015 - 10:10:28

We recently stayed at this flat for 4 nights. We are a family of 5. Two young adults and a teenager. The location is superb! A mere 80 meters from Earl's Court Tube station made it so easy to come and go from our sightseeing days. It made our transport from the airport also extremely easy by using the tube. The place has all you need for a family stay in London. Everything worked fine and it is well equipped and furnished. Alex, the owner was extremely helpful from the first contact we made with him. He made it so easy we felt we were dealing with a lifetime friend. William, the property administrator lives next to the apartment and he was very friendly and pleasant and allowed for the check-in process to be very easy. I strongly recommend this apartment for people traveling with families! 09 June 2015 - 21:03:35

We used the house as our home base for a band tour in the area. It was so much better to share the house than to have separate hotel rooms. The house has enough space for each of us to have our privacy and yet meet together in the main room for meals and time together. The place was clean and comfortable. We had a great time here. Many have mentioned the excellent location. That was one of the highlights. It was crucial for us to get to venues (and Heathrow) with a minimum of effort. The tube was the way to do it. (Get yourself an Oyster Card.) It was great to walk out during the day and have so many options for coffee and restaurants. The neighborhood is very vibrant. The only "negative" we experienced was the noise on the street side. I'm used to sleeping in a quiet place, so I didn't get a great night of rest that first night. I found my earplugs after that and had no problems. You'll enjoy it here. 02 November 2015 - 15:57:43

We stayed here for a long weekend in January with our daughter and family who were over from Australia. I hadn't spotted that there wasn't a dishwasher (!), but, apart from that, everything else was perfect for our needs. We met Alex as well as William and they were both very helpful. The flat is in an ideal location, literally across the road from the back end of Earls Court Station. Earls Court has restaurants and useful shops in profusion and the flat suited us down to the ground. The entrance is down a narrow staircase at the front and on a busy road, but even though between us we had rather a lot of luggage, this wasn't a huge problem. Just keep hold of small children when you leave the flat. 14 April 2016 - 23:39:56

Our family of six had a great stay at Alex's flat over Christmas holiday. The apartment is very close to the Earls Court tube stop and a lovely Tesco (supermarket). There is a nice little town area a couple of blocks over with a number of nice restaurants. The flat has a small apartment sized washing machine. As an American, I assumed that when there's a washer, there's a dryer. But, this was not the case. There is no dryer but there is a large drying rack. This was manageable but had I realized it in advance I would have packed slightly differently with clothes that dried more quickly instead of jeans and sweatshirts for my kids. I would definitely stay here again. 10 January 2018 - 18:09:00

This flat was clean and perfect for our group. Nothing fancy, but close proximity to public transit and a very responsive owner and property manager. 23 January 2018 - 15:32:00

The flat was plenty spacious enough for six adults and easy to find. There was everything we needed for our stay and both Alex and William were very helpful. The flat is within easy reach of a tube station, literally just down the road, and there are plenty of places to eat or buy food to cook yourself within easy walking distance. We would recommend and would book again. 29 January 2018 - 20:06:00

    1. I strongly recommend do not stay here 2. Dishonest listing, the pictures are not accurate. 3. The location is good but the property is dirty, dated, has mold issues and the supplies/service were cheap and inadequate. 4. We checked out early to sleep somewhere else that was clean. For more details: We were 5 guests staying 4 nights. We checked reviews before booking and the pictures looked great but unfortunately it is not what it appears to be. The pictures are filtered/enhances and in reality the space is not bright, the walls, baseboards, floors, bathrooms and furniture are all extremely worn and very dirty in many places. Overall, the place feels dingy and gross. Most importantly we discovered a huge patch of mold behind the lower bunk bed on the wall at about head level. We also found mold in the bathrooms and it looks like instead of fixing, there were some attempts to use caulk to cover it up. After finding mold on the wall where my kids slept we decided to find a hotel nearby to sleep in for the last 2 of the 4 nights. Luckily we found a hotel down the street that had rooms for low rate and it was very clean and modern. We booked a couple rooms and finished our stay there. At check in, the manager told us that we get three rolls of toilet paper and need to buy our own if we need more. Not only inconvenient, it just seems incredibly cheap and unnecessary. 5 bath towels total. It might have been enough if we could have washed them but the washer had mold inside of it and we werent going to use it. Also, the towels were very dated/old, mismatched and very scratchy. We went looking for a department store to buy our own towels. 1 small hand towel per bathroom 1 old towel laying on the floor as a bathmat 1 small kitchen towel Cooking pans and utensils need replacing (stained, warped, peeling) Sheets were stained with markers. After our stay we sent a private message telling the owner of all our issues and his response was disappointing. He said the listing clearly stated we get 3 rolls of toilet paper and one towel each. We booked through the VRBO app and the listing doesnt say anything like that. Instead of acknowledging that this is an embarrassing complaint to receive, he said the listing told us everything we should expect. He did mention painting in February, will work on better ventilation and the mold on the wall can be wiped down. Thats all you need to hear to realize this owner doesnt take this seriously. 16 January 2018 - 20:57:00
