I am writing following my second visit to this beautifully appointed apartment. This time to celebrate my wedding anniversary. I was very grateful to the owner Catherine who was immensely helpful with the organization of our trip. Not only did champagne and flowers await us, she arranged a fabulous table at Le Voltaire. I cannot describe how elegant and chic this apartment is. The beds are super comfortable and the house is spotlessly clean. There is a large and separate wardrobe area which is a dream if you are carrying large quantities of clothes! Last time I bought my children who were made very welcome. Being located next to Musee D'Orsay and the Louvre is wonderful and the apartment is also a very short walk from Boulevard St Germain. I cannot recommend this rental more highly. 09 May 2014 - 12:44:28

My teenagers and I spent the week after Christmas in the apartment. It was everything we expected and more. There is not a better location for sightseeing. The apartment is within walking distance to all of my favorite museums, in an area with amazing food ( I don't know if there is a bad area for food in Paris) and near Notre Dame and great shopping. The apartment owner was wonderfully helpful as was her staff. I would definitely stay here again. 11 January 2015 - 22:21:00

My daughter and I had the great fortune to stay in this fabulous, elegant apartment. Located in a beautiful and secure building in a great neighborhood, the Seine is a block away with the Louvre just across the river. The apartment is immaculate and decorated with beautiful art and furnishings. Ruth and Zahra (housekeeper and driver) were both wonderful and invaluable sources of advice and assistance when needed. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, as well- I highly recommend staying here, we can't wait to return! 03 March 2017 - 17:53:00

We enjoyed our two week stay in this wonderful apartment, perfect for a special Paris celebration. Beautifully appointed, clean and spacious, this lovely residence is located on a quiet street but centrally located. The owner is delightful to deal with and cares about her guests. The host/housekeeper is so helpful and welcoming. All in all, a very special place! 12 May 2017 - 23:09:00

What a perfect apartment for a Paris vacation. We stayed for two weeks with our 17 and 28 year old daughters over the Christmas holiday. Upon arriving we were welcomed by the housekeeper who provided an overview of the apartment, instructions on operating the appliances, tour brochures, information on the area and when she would return for cleaning. The apartment was well-maintained and very clean upon arrival and all during our stay. The furnishings are lovely and it was our home away home. The rooms are spacious with tons of closet and storage space. The kitchen is well-equipped as I fixed breakfast every morning before we hit the road for sightseeing. The listing accurately describes the apartment. It is a superb location on the Left Bank, one block across the Seine from the Louvre. The Monoprix Grocery store is just 6 blocks/7 minutes away. Be sure to stop at Eric Kayser Boulangerie for a baguette or bring home a quiche to warm in the oven for dinner! Of course, there are many surroundings cafes. We tried Le Voltaire, Le Saint Germain. Les Deux Magots, L Epigramme, just to name a few. For a romantic night for two try LAtelier Joel Robuc. Les Deux Magots has hot chocolate that is out of this world! Off to the sites, the museums await! The Louvre is an 8 minute walk, Orsay is 7 minutes, Muse de l'Orangerie is 16 minutes and Rodin just 20 minutes. Churches and Cathedrals, Notre Dame & Sainte Chappelle are just a 20 minute walk. Take in an evening concert at Saint Germain des Pres or attend mass at Saint Sulpice and stay for the pipe organ concert afterwards. If you are going to Versailles the Metro station is at Musee Orsay. No Paris vacation would be complete without a ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower, just a 35 minute walk. We ordered Eiffel tickets ahead of time and went in the evening. Order a glass of champagne at the top to toast to your trip. Upon departure, the housekeeper arrived to send us off and wish us au revior! Before our visit I spoke to the owner several times and she was extremely helpful and answered all our questions. Her housekeeper was local and within a phone call away! We would definitely stay here again and recommend this apartment to our family and friends! 27 January 2013 - 22:48:46

Can a place be chic and sophisticated as well as comfortable and homey? In this apartment anything will seem possible. The pictures and description just begin to describe this lovely home. From the minute you walk in to the secure building, up the spiral staircase to the 2nd floor and enter this perfectly renovated 18th century apartment, you will feel at home. The huge windows open to the picturesque street from the living room and to a charming garden from the kitchen and main bedroom. Bathrooms are updated and spacious, the kitchen is completely equipped and the ambience of the place makes you want to just sit and breathe it in...but you are in Paris! Literally, just minutes from everything you want to see and do - the Louvre and the Orsay are within 5 minutes walking time, the Seine just one block away, an easy 20 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. The neighborhood is overflowing with cafes and restaurants, small markets with lots of delicious food ready to take home, and a grocery just a few blocks away. It borders an excellent and fun shopping area with galleries, patisseries, and all manner of shops and stores. The big hop-on, hop-off bus lines are easy to grab near the Louvre and of course, the Gardens are just right for people watching. From the beginning of our experience to the end, the owner and her housekeeper, the unflappable Ruth, stayed in touch, answered questions, made suggestions, and even arranged for our taxi back to CDG when it was time to return home. I would recommend this property to family and friends without hesitation. 09 July 2013 - 15:04:26

If you want to stay in the old historic district in Paris, this is about as good of a location as you can get. The apartment is very up to date and the owner is very easy to deal and responded quickly to all inquiries. 04 June 2014 - 15:29:50

We stayed for four weeks including June 25 to July 23 in 2014. Grand apartment, high ceilings, tall windows, elegant moulding details, sparkling chandeliers, beautifully kept wooden and tile floors, all extremely clean. Master bed is truly very comfortable and the windows look out onto a very charming private garden from which you will enjoy the sounds of a fountain and birds singing. This apartment is full of natural light and windows open for a pleasant breeze (no window screens in Paris, but also seemingly no bugs!). All windows have wooden shutters to cover them for near total darkness at night. The kitchen is fabulous. Everything works and is in excellent condition. Americans should know that there is not a microwave; I reheated food in pots on the stove. There are many works of original art on the walls; that range from pleasant and nice to sad, unsettling, and grotesque. The housekeeper Ruth is positively lovely and will help you in any way she can. She also keeps your apartment positively sparkling clean. The location could hardly be improved; it is in a very safe and architecturally charming area in Paris. Bring your children here? Yes, as long as they are very well behaved. Our two boys aged 6 and 8 did fine. Theres lots of room for bigger kids to move around. However, younger children would be quite difficult. There are lots of fragile figurines throughout the apartment from 3 inches to 3 feet tall, there is a two-story drop from the window, the furniture is made for adults and cannot be jumped on, and the building is quiet enough so that loud kid noises would be very unwelcome. If you bring kids, you will also want to be aware that the master bedrooms two entry doors do not lock and the master bathroom door does not lock or latch shut. We were able to get everything we needed from the owner. She answers emails and phone calls very timely. She also had wonderful tips and advice for us. There were also some extra things she did that we appreciated very much. You will want to confirm the refund policy on the website: 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date. She wasnt aware that was there and did not agree with it at first although she ultimately honored it even more than what the website stated. Just make sure you come to a good agreement on that early in your booking. In summary, this apartment is beautiful, elegant, and a wonderful place to stay. 25 August 2014 - 16:25:15

The apartment is in the perfect location. It is in a beautifully restored Directoire style building with very high end finishes. My parents stayed in the master bedroom that over looks the garden. My partner and I stayed in the bedroom on the street side, which was perfectly fine with a lovely bathroom and dressing area with beautiful moldings and hardware. The only draw back was that there is not a bed, but a a sofa bed in the second bedroom. I knew this before arriving, as it is listed in the description. The salon is quite large and comfortable. The nights that we ate in, we ate in the eat in kitchen overlooking the garden as well. Overall, this is a very sophisticated apartment in a very chic location. The manager Ruth, was very nice, meeting us after hours for check in and arranging an early morning driver for us upon our departure. I will stay here again. 09 June 2015 - 23:33:56
  14. This is the second time we have stayed in this apartment, and we cannot recommend it more highly. The owner takes great care in planning and preparing for guests -- having fresh flowers throughout the apartment, fruit, bottles of water, plus a very nice bottle of wine. Everything runs smoothly from initial contact with the owner through arrival and stay. A great deal of thought has clearly been given to this tasteful apartment, located in an eighteenth century building. Its eclectic and elegant decor surely reflects the owner's thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and good taste, and also the fact that this is someone's home. The furnishings are elegant throughout and hardwood and stone floors make for coolness and comfort. The two of us enjoyed plenty of space (and especially having two separate bathrooms and closets!). The apartment is superbly located, close to the Seine, near bus and Metro lines, and within comfortable walking distance of locations in central Paris. It overlooks a calm and peaceful courtyard with tall trees. One week of our stay this year coincided with a heat wave during which on some days outside temperatures reached 100 F, but the building's thick walls, and the apartment's high ceilings (along with an essential fan) made life inside tolerable for us. This is someone's Paris apartment, which is why it feels like home. It deserves appreciation and above all respect (but is perhaps not the ideal place for a family with small and active children given its many valuable objects). 08 July 2015 - 13:57:59

We spent two weeks in this lovely apartment. It was a two week trip back to a city where we'd lived for many years. The owner was accommodating, helpful and informative at each step of the process. Our party was three adults and a very calm 11 year old granddaughter. We loved the apartment, the beautiful building and the surrounding neighborhood. I wouldn't recommend it for most children or people who objected to a few flights of stairs but the building lived up to the description and all my discussions with the owner. I agree with the need to respect the property and the neighborhood, but we enjoyed every moment of our time in Paris and in this apartment. I have already recommended it to my family members. 25 August 2015 - 17:57:18

A wonderful setting in every way. The location is perfect for accessing all of Paris primarily on foot. A quiet neighborhood with fine antique shops, bistros and small markets give you a small sampling of Paris life. The apartment is beautifully furnished and very well cared for. And the housekeeper was warm and very helpful. Great responsiveness and guidance from the owner as well. We'll be back. All our expectations were exceeded. We'll be back 04 December 2015 - 18:25:06

We had a wonderful visit to this lovely apartment in St. Germain. Paris is a favorite destination and I've stayed in a number of different neighborhoods and this apartment may be located in the best of them all. It is located on the left bank in line with the Louvre "pyramid" and just a block from the Seine. The apartment is in an 18th Century building on the second floor (i.e., the third floor in Europe). The living room and the second bedroom overlook a relatively quiet street (for central Paris) and the back of the apartment, including the master and the kitchen, overlook a central courtyard. There were only two of us and we did not use the second bedroom, but the master bedroom was spacious with an en suite bathtub/shower combination. The living room was quite large with two couches, a coffee table, and a smaller dining table. The apartment was decorated with period and eclectic antiques and a wonderful selection of art. The kitchen was fully functional and was stocked with an assortment of pots, pans, and other accessories. Gas range and a large freezer and refrigerator were available for our use. I also appreciated the Nespresso machine and the kitchen table that overlooked the courtyard. We had no complaints about this apartment, although I would love faster wifi as I had to work a bit during our stay. I did appreciate the ip telephone that I could use to make calls to the states. I do think that two traveling couples could comfortably share the apartment. Communication with the owner was prompt and good. Her housekeeper was quite pleasant and was at the apartment to let us in upon arrival. My only other comment is that the apartment is a walk-up on some stairs that, while grand, could be a bit tricky on the way down (or up). Other than, I would recommend this apartment to anyone. 03 January 2017 - 17:36:37

You really feel like you are in old Paris at this lovely, comfortable apartment. Everything needed for staying-in entertainment is there, including guest baths, a complete kitchen, and breakfast area. The owner has decorated the apartment with comfortable furniture including antiques, and linens. The tall windows facing away from the street open to a quiet garden with trees that give privacy and a leafy green atmosphere. Excellent security. Fabulous restaurants within walking distance of a few blocks, and two Metro stations with separate lines are just a few minutes away. 05 November 2017 - 20:27:00
  19. This was our third stay in the apartment, and that itself is a statement about the apartment and its comfort, understated elegance, and location. Kept immaculately clean by a delightful housekeeper, with an owner who pays attention to the finest details and is always responsive to questions and requests, one can find no better home from home in Paris. Turn left as you leave the building and in five minutes you're at Eric Keyser for your croissants, sandwiches, bread. Cross the street for the finest cheeses (with recommended wine complements) at Androuet, then take a few steps towards home and stop at Maison Guyard (under-described as a Deli) and cross the street for fruit and vegetables at Au Verger d'Alice...and you have lunch or a light dinner. Of course add another five minutes to your walk and you're at the Muse d'Orsay, or crossing the Seine (yes it's that close) and almost to the Louvre. Don't forget the key bus stops a minute away, plus a plentiful supply of taxis, and you are set to enjoy Paris from the perfect home base. We cannot recommend this apartment, nor its owner, more highly. D and M Lexington MA 31 July 2017 - 20:16:00
