Listing was accurate. The apartment is one big room so it is best for a single or a couple. Since the apt. looks out on a small garden courtyard there is no street noise The apt. is bright, modern & sunny. The automatic metal shutters cut out all light when you want to sleep There are no regular chairs in the apt., just high bar stools, squishy sofa, and hard platform seating. There were drinks in the fridge for you to use & replace. There is a Carrefour supermarket half-way down the block and a laundromat a block in the other direction. The apt. is convenient to Anvers and Barbes-Rochecouart Metro stations and a 10 minute walk from Gare du Nord. The apt. is up 2 levels and there is no elevator so pack lightly. The cleaning lady helped me with the luggage but she is smaller than I am. 23 May 2012 - 14:10:04

This lovely apartment - very spacious for Paris! - was perfect for my 2 week stay. There were 3 of us there for the first week and the pull out couch was surprisingly comfortable (as was the roomy bed where I slept once my company had left!). Mme Esteves who met us with the keys was so pleasant and lovely - as were two of the neighbours in the building who helped us to find the correct corridor for the apartment! I only wish I had paid more attention during my French lessons... The apartment was a lovely and extremely quiet retreat after long days of sight seeing. And Peter's CD collection (and amazing sound system) were a very pleasant addition. Nicely situated to Sacre Cour - the views from up the Dome are tres fantastique! Some fabulous restaurants and bars around the corner. Several Metro stations close by - I found that I preferred Anvers or Gare du Nord as they felt the safest to walk from there alone at night. Thank you Peter for keeping such a lovely space open for rent! 29 May 2012 - 10:47:36

This apartment was perfect for our family of four. Our kids (ages 10 and 13) loved it. In the pictures it looks like small pads on the floors, but they are actuallythick mattresses built into the raised floor. The sofa pulled out into a bed and was very comfortable. The apartment was very quiet as it looked out into a pretty courtyard. Everything was immaculate. The neighborhood was a very short walk to metro stops, Garre Du Nord, Sacre Coeur, several restaurants, a laundromat, two big grocery stores, and a playground. The owner was extremely helpful and took his time to answer several questions and provide multiple suggestions, including a shuttle service to the airport. I highly recommend this apartment and will definitely try to stay here again the next time we go to Paris. 29 August 2012 - 14:27:28

Central location, quiet apartment in Montmartre. It was very cosy for our family of 5 people. I'd would stay here again when I come back to Paris. 01 September 2012 - 01:19:17

This apartment was well appointed and comfortable - even for a family of five with teenage children. It was close to the Metro, and an easy walk to cafes and restaurants. A fantastic grocery store was one block away, providing a cheap and easy way of stocking up on provisions. Staying here was a great way to visit the main attractions of Paris while also experiencing the more leisurely pace of the Montmartre district. The area felt safe enough to walk around at night. For a longer stay, the apartment included a great selection of DVDs and CDs, as well as an eclectic library of books. We greatly appreciated the smooth and efficient booking process with Peter. We look forward to returning again in the near future. 03 September 2012 - 14:31:06

My husband and I had a fabulous 6 day stay in the studio. Everything you need is within a short walk (cafes, creamery, fresh bread even a large supermarket). The Sacre Coeur is just up the hill from the studio and a nice place for a view or a sunset. The studio itself is quiet and nicely appointed. The bed is extremely comfortable, the shower wonderful and having movies to watch in English was a treat and a nice way to relax between afternoon and evening activities. The stereo system is nice and there are many CDs to choose from. The studio also had several books on Paris and a list of restaurant recommendations which we found helpful. We also loved the metal shutters that could be closed to keep out the morning light on days that we wanted to sleep in. We cooked daily and although the kitchen has no oven or toaster and limited dishware it worked fine for our party of 2. We took the train from Nice and with a quick transfer easily arrived at the Gare Du Nord station which is a 10 minute walk from the studio. There are several metro stations and bus lines that run near the studio making visiting the city's attractions via public transportation simple. I'd recommend purchasing the Visite Paris pass which gives you unlimited access to public transportation for a set number of days. The couch wasn't great. The cushions slide down and you're on the ground pretty quickly so we opened it into the bed position and used it that way. The bar stools are too high for comfortable eating at the bar but those are the only negatives and neither was a deal breaker. All in all it was a wonderful stay and Peter was very pleasant to deal with. We would definitely stay again the next time we visit Paris. 13 October 2012 - 00:23:50

Really well equipped, comfortable, and very well situated apartment in Paris. Owner is very helpful, thoughtful, and has a beautiful sense of design. I would like to make this my home away from home when in Paris. Great shops very near by, and one of the best coffee shops in Paris (Kooka Boora), along with an excellent market and shops all around. Close to transportation, quite flat overlooking a courtyard, really comfortable bed and bedding, with a good fast internet connection. Really made the trip to Paris even better... Professional owner, good dealing with him on payment, refund, and information, as well as cleaning and access. Great flat... 09 May 2013 - 16:01:26

thanks to Peter for a great stay. Everything was as pictured. Sleeping spots for 5. Note that pictures appear to show just sleeping mats. They are actually mattresses. The couch also folds out to a king. the bathroom was big and the kitchen suited our needs. There is a parking garage right next door (although hours are 8am - 7pm). The neighborhood was nice. Lots of restaurants and bakeries (thanks Peter for the restaurant recommendations). It was a close walk to Sacre Coeur (beautiful view of Paris). Also several train stations nearby. Building was very secure. As was apartment itself. Peter was also extremely great to work with. Again he even provided a few restaurant recommendations. 17 June 2013 - 17:59:23

This Montmartre studio was a wonderful getaway. A lot of thought has been put into the details and it shows in this beautiful apartment. Everything was clean and comfortable and it was obvious right when we walked in that Peter, the owner, has a real flair for design. It was spacious, classy and well appointed. Peter was wonderful to work with and all went smoothly for check in, payment and deposit refund. The building entrance is on a fairly busy street, but the apartment is away from the street and the windows open onto a quiet garden courtyard area. Also there are electric shutters that completely black out the room and keep it super quiet for sleeping in during the morning. The shower was fantastic. It had good water pressure and was very of the best I've used in Europe. The location is great and is walking distance to Sacre Couer Basilica. The neighborhood is not touristy and has a local feel. The only downside is that the closest metro stop, Barbes Rochechouart, is a little sketchy feeling late at night. I was there with my 2 daughters and thus was more in tune with the overall atmosphere. Despite this, the apartment neighborhood itself felt quite safe. I would definitely recommend this modern and beautiful studio to my friends. 03 July 2013 - 07:33:22

My husband and I stayed in this bright and cheery apartment for 10 days. The apartment is in good condition as pictured and was very comfortable for the two of us. During the day we left the windows open to the courtyard below and it was peaceful and sunny. I would recommend this apartment for two people otherwise I could imagine it getting very cramped for the American lifestyle ;-) The bed was very comfortable and I do agree with previous remarks about the worn out condition of the couch. I personally would not want to sleep on it. Otherwise the studio is in a very hip and lively neighborhood. I felt safe walking around at night and walking home early in the morning after enjoying the nightlife. My husband and I would love to stay here again! 08 October 2013 - 15:51:44

Parijs, montmartre romantic studio, charlie: wij komen terug! 22 January 2015 - 22:22:15

Since many years this wonderful apartment is our landing spot. Each time enjoying a different aspect of Paris, each time discovering the apartment and its surroundings again. We are convinced it is the combination of a vivid Paris and the quietness in the apartment that make each stay a remembrance. There is always Peter, the owner, who has a great part in the discovering aspect, each time providing tips on what is hot and where you would need to be. And there is also Madame. Estefez, the cleaning lady, living in the same street, whenever you have a practical question. This winter, we were in the apartment just one week before the terrorist attack, however this will not change our love for Paris. We will be back in spring! 23 February 2015 - 08:54:03

My family of 4, with 2 teenagers, enjoyed a wonderful week in Peter's apartment. The location was in a non-touristy area, however convenient by the RER /metro (15 minute walk) to access all the sights of Paris. The Sacre Coeur was just a short walk away (15 minutes), and many restaurants and small grocery stores lined the street just outside the apartment. Just down the street was a beautiful bakery, where each morning we picked up freshly baked croissants and delicious baguettes. The apartment itself faces the courtyard, so it was extremely quiet in the evenings. The King size bed and the coach (as a bed) were both very comfortable, and the apartment was extremely clean. Wi-fi was fantastic, even with all four of us using it at the same time. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!! 11 August 2015 - 22:42:01

The Montmartre Romantic studio proves an ideal, peaceful getaway in the centre of the lively Montmartre centre. Framed within a beautifully designed loft, it provides in all necessary facilities. The centre of Paris is at a walking distance from the loft. Cosy restaurants and little authentic shops are in the neighborhood and a large supermarket is just in the street. After a lively day in Paris, this loft furnishes a quiet, peaceful place to rest down. 03 September 2015 - 13:27:19

My partner and I reserved the apartment for 6 days and were very excited. Upon arrival we were thrilled with the apartment and the location. Peter the owner was very attentive and responsive to all our needs. I look forward to staying here again in the future. John 21 September 2015 - 04:09:52

The loft was clean and interestingly designed. Comfortable bed and close to the metro. It is a safe and perfect Parisian neighborhood with nearby shops and stores. The price was right and the owner was very friendly and helpful. We had a fantastic time in Paris and when we were tired from all our walking and sightseeing, it was a home away from home. 30 September 2015 - 12:11:40

We had a great stay on the edge of Montmartre. This is a little oasis in the busy City. Well designed, the spaces work very well together and we were very comfortable. The Metro is close with three stations within a few blocks. The Friday market is great and there is a grocery store nearby (a very well stocked Monoprix). Peter gave us a lot of leads on nearby restaurants. 26 October 2015 - 18:47:19

Vier dagen Parijs. Parijs. Bruisende, bezige stad en toch zoveel groen. Zoveel parken. In Parijs. 11 August 2015 - 21:38:09

We have been coming to The Romantic Loft for more than 5 years now and every time I'm there I'm convinced. This is the best spot to stay in Paris. It's in a quiet neighborhood full of local people and little shops, with lots of great restaurants, bars and shops. This time we went on foot to the Sacr Coeur on a Friday evening where the place is full of people and bands are playing. The other day we went on foot to Les Galleries Lafayettes. When you plan to go to the hart of the city, you can take the metro really close by. So again, we enjoyed a relaxing weekend in the middle of this beautiful city. We will come again really soon! Thank you Peter for sharing this beautiful loft. 12 August 2015 - 20:39:28
