About listing

Every room of this 3 bedroom home on San Francisco Bay has gorgeous views of the bay, the Golden Gate Bridge, or restful patios. Crunch across the gravel driveway and enter a sunny sheltered area in back of the house, enclosed by a warm stone patio. Lush plantings invite you to come in the Dutch kitchen door, which is painted the color of favorite geraniums. Or, if you follow the stone path around to the front entry, you will come upon the spectacular San Francisco Bay views framed by gracefully branching trees. From the front windows you can watch the changes to the beautiful town of Sausalito and the Golden Gate Bridge across the water, as sailboats traverse the waterfront and the sun makes graceful changes all day. The quaint village of Tiburon is a quick drive or a 20 minute stroll on the bayside bike path. From there, take the ferry to San Francisco (17 minutes) or Angel Island, or for a sunset cruise around the bay. Visit the historic towns nearby to shop, play, or eat at famous restaurants, or just stay at Bella Vista all day to relax. Bella Vista is within a short drive to five great beaches (5-30 minutes), the Napa-Sonoma wine country (30 minutes), and the City, (15-20 minutes). Mill Valley, Sausalito, and 2 large shopping centers are about 10 minutes away. Mt. Tamalpais, the birthplace of the mountain bike, is next to the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, about 20 minutes away. Keywords: House, bay view, beach walk, shopping and restaurants

My husband and I stayed at "Bella Vista" for 4 nights and 5 days and with each day came a new adventure and with each night we watched the lights of the golden gate and the bay bridges twinkle and pull us into their beauty. It was so convenient to have a wonderful walking/biking trail directly across the street. We took some great walks both in the morning and evening. The rooms at "Bella Vista" are very comfortable and pleasing to the eye. I can't remember the last time my husband relaxed so was really terrific. I can't wait to return to this little piece of heaven. 22 August 2010 - 21:52:18
  2. My husband and I enjoyed the AMAZING views from this comfortable and peaceful property. It's hard to capture the beauty and peaceful vistas in the photos. You can see the bay from the kitchen, the front bathroom, the hallway (glass door), the dining and living rooms, the master bedroom, and the front yard. It was so relaxing just to sit and watch the ever-changing views. We walked the bike trails into downtown TIburon and had a great lunch at Sams and enjoyed the quaint town. The owner has thought of every need, right down to the binoculars by the front windows and lots of interesting books about the history of the area and things to do including restaurant menus. We look forward to returning to Bella Vista time and time again and will recommend it to our friends and family. 13 September 2010 - 23:50:37

We had a wonderful month's stay at Bella Vista. The views are magnificent and the house is well equipped with all that is necessary for a relaxing vacation. The location is outstanding with very easy access to downtown Tiburon and a fabulous walking or biking path which stretches for over two miles. There is a convenient ferry from Tiburon to San Francisco and another to Angel Island where walking and biking are a real treat. The drive from the house to San Francisco is a beautifu twenty minute journey. There are nearby restaurants in Tiburon and other close by towns in Marin County. We loved our stay so much we have booked Bella Vista for two months next year. We recommend it highly. 14 October 2010 - 18:56:43

We spent 6 weeks of late winter at Bella Vista, first time in Tiburon after 5 years renting in Sausalito. The views are knock out fantastic, the ambiance is true northern California and the home is spacious and wonderful on sunny and rainy days. The owner tries extra hard to be sure your stay is enjoyed and you have tips to fill every day; and the history of the home and Tiburon is there for your enjoyment. We live on Lake Michigan and to be able to look at and just walk to SF/Richardson Bay across the street is a true joy. We will be back. 08 April 2011 - 16:55:20

We were a group of five friends who gather once a year from across the US for a break from our Mom/Wife duties for a Girls' Weekend. Bella Vista absolutely enchanted us. The location is excellent - San Francisco is 20 minutes away, and both Tiburon and Sausalito provided nearby shopping and dining. The bay is directly across the street from the backyard and provides a lovely view of the water, the hills and part of the Golden Gate Bridge. The three bedrooms are spacious, nicely decorated and comfortably supplied. And the layout of the bedrooms in respect to the rest of the house provides a feeling of privacy that one wouldn't expect from a house this size. The kitchen had everything we needed and was large enough for several of us to putter around at the same time. We loved the big picture windows and spent a lot of time sitting on the deck, enjoying the view. What's more difficult to describe is the "homey" feeling this house gives. You can practically feel the years of love and good memories that have passed through the walls. It gives a wonderful loving vibe - we felt at home immediately. The owner, Meredith, was very friendly and responsive, very ready to answer any questions. 12 October 2012 - 17:52:25

We rented the property for a one week stay and could not have been happier. The location is close to everything from the walk to the pier in Tiburon to catch the ferry in to San Francisco to the short drive to the wine country and Mier Woods. The house is very well kept and comfortable. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in the San Francisco area to consider putting this property at the top of the list. 09 November 2012 - 16:19:21

My husband and I had the great fortune to spend 6 nites at Bella Vista just before Christmas. This home is so warm and inviting, every detail has been taken care of and the location is tops! The photos gave a great picture of exactly how the property looks. We easily walked to downtown Tiberon and enjoyed the shops, hopped the ferry to San Francisco (much better than driving into SF and fighting the traffic and parking), hiked Muir Woods, enjoyed shopping and dining in Mill Valley (so charming!). We ate at El Paseo in Mill Valley - for you foodies, that's Tyler Florence's restaurant. And, don't miss a visit to the Tyler Florence store - amazing!! We can't say enough about our stay - enjoyed every minute and loved Meredith's charming and cozy home and can't wait to go back! 07 January 2013 - 20:23:53

We very much enjoyed our time at Bella Vista. Having both a front and back patio to hang out made it very nice. 18 June 2014 - 20:44:10

We have stayed in many rental units and this one is now at the top of our list. The moment we stepped through the door, it just felt like home. The house is so comfortable and inviting. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly need for your stay. All the windows let you enjoy the spectacular views by day and twinkling lights across the bay at night. We loved the privacy of the fenced in yard and the fact that you are sitting up on a hill, so you can enjoy the view from the deck. We didn't get a chance to cook out and use the patio but it was also very welcoming. The town of Tiburon is so charming and we enjoyed meals there a couple of nights. It is just a quick drive or walk on the bike path. Jump in your car and you are hiking trails in Muir Woods in about 15 minutes. We hiked a couple of trails that led us to the Pacific Ocean. There is so much to do that we could have spent a month there but sadly we only had five nights. Thanks for sharing Bella Vista. Whenever I need to calm my mind, I will shut my eyes and pretend I am sitting on the deck, looking out at the bay and enjoying the cool gentle breeze. 01 October 2014 - 04:43:01

Bella Vista, in Beautiful Tiburon, has been one of my favorites for some time now. Amazing views , an ideal southern marin location and very close to the city! It is also close to downtown Tiburon and the ferry. I have stayed there several holidays with family, and we all have enjoyed the cozy ambience and the warming and nurturing energy the place emanates! Thank you Meredith for sharing your place with us! 01 June 2015 - 23:21:44

What a wonderful home to stay in to celebrate friends have 60th birthdays. The home was very clean and the views were perfect. Location to Napa and other points of interest was just perfect. I would stay here again. It was interesting to look at the "snap shots" of the area before it's development and try to imagine what life was like before. Very relaxing. 20 July 2015 - 18:36:22

This was our family's first trip to the Bay area. My wife and I and our 3 grown children had a great stay. As other reviewers have mentioned, the view from deck, living room and master bedroom are outstanding. The house had everything we needed. For most of our trip we left the car in the driveway. It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk into downtown Tiburon where you can catch a short ferry to San Francisco or Angel Island. You can also park downtown if you want to save your energy for exploring other areas. Bike rentals are readily available and many people take their bikes on the ferry to both locations. The area is very bike friendly. It is also a relatively short drive to the Napa or Sonoma Valleys and Sausalito is only 15 minutes away. Tiburon itself is not nearly as big or busy as Sausalito but it has a very nice selection of shops and restaurants. We had meals there several times and were never disappointed. There is plenty of information on area attractions and points of interest in 3 binders in the house. After a busy day, it was great to come back to the house and relax while the sun set in the evenings with the cool breeze and fantastic view on the deck. Meredith, the owner, was very helpful. I had several questions before arriving and she was prompt and thorough with all her responses. We would love to come back to the area and Bella Vista will be our first choice when we start looking for available houses. 14 August 2015 - 00:40:12

We stayed for the week of Christmas. The house was wonderfully decorated for the holiday upon our arrival. The home is beautiful! The kitchen was very well stocked with the needed items to cook a large holiday meal. The beds are all very comfortable. We really enjoyed the view of the bay, Sausalito, The Golden Gate Bridge and the coastal mountains and hills. Setting in front of the large windows or out on the deck enjoying a coffee or wine was amazing! We could not have asked to find a better house to relax and enjoy the holidays. We really look forward to our return visit. 28 December 2015 - 18:32:54
  15. Our family had a fantastic stay at Bella Vista for a week in August. The property has a convenient location with the walking path across the street, just a few minutes drive from downtown Tiburon or the shops at Strawberry Village and easy access to San Fran and all its amazing things to do. The views from the house are spectacular and everything is well arranged for a comfortable stay with plenty or room for everyone. Thanks for a fantastic time! 21 August 2016 - 06:19:17

Bella Vista is a great place to stay with breathtaking views; nice, clean amenities; good location for access to various Marin County venues; and a relaxing atmosphere. We have enjoyed numerous visits to Bella Vista and recommend it highly without any reservations. 23 June 2014 - 19:20:48

We had a wonderful and relaxing Thanksgiving holiday vacation at this home. The home is well-stocked and very comfortable. It is located near numerous restaurants and things to do, and it has a great view of the SF Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. We look forward to our next stay there. 08 December 2015 - 18:26:00

Bella Vista is even better in person and is situated perfectly for exploring the city of San Francisco as well as Marin County and all it has to offer. That is, if you ever want to leave the cozy front room where both sunrises and sunsets are incredible! The house has everything you need for a great getaway, is very clean, and offers lots of space both inside and out for private conversations as well as larger gatherings. We hope to visit Bella Vista again! 31 December 2017 - 21:18:00
