  1. We were happy to find such a pet friendly location for our summer vacation. Our dog was content to romp down the hill and loved chasing the deer! Karen was very helpful in answering all our questions and making us feel at home! 18 March 2012 - 23:40:46
  2. We always make the Vintner's Auction our annual snowbird event, and our friends suggested this vacation rental instead of staying in a hotel. What a great idea, more than enough room for two couples. Clean, quiet and private. Hope we can stay there again next year. 17 March 2012 - 21:15:41
  3. We come up every year for the Mustard Festival and were thrilled to run across this ideal vacation spot. Very comfortable with plenty of room for the kids to run around outside. We'll definitely be back again! 01 April 2012 - 23:13:53
  4. Karen & David invited us to escape the heat and go sightseeing in Northern California for the fall colors. Spectacular scenery and we had the best time. Their home is beautiful, and I can't believe Karen's Mom planted all the trees and shrubs in the garden! 04 April 2012 - 16:55:33
  5. Last summer we went to California for a family reunion. What a perfect spot for a gathering and so many thoughtful amenities provided. When cooking for the gang, we particularly appreciated all the beautiful spices and condiments. 11 April 2012 - 21:13:11
  6. My husband had business in the Bay Area last summer, and we decided to make a family trip out of it. This rental house made us feel like we were coming home rather than travelling to a strange place. Very comfortable and everything was provided. I wish I had that chest freezer at my house! 11 April 2012 - 20:37:19
  7. We came out to California last year for a wedding and were able to house our family and extended family under one roof. Very clean and comfortable accomodations. The only downside was that there was no dishwasher. 11 April 2012 - 15:44:40
  8. The Napa Valley Film Festival last November was our first trip to the Wine Country. Fortunate to run across this vacation rental. Perfectly situated and quite cozy. We built a fire eery night. Would certainly recommend this to our friends. 11 April 2012 - 15:19:28

This home is situated in a suburb of Napa, but on a knoll surrounded by its own little forest. Although you approach through a development, the gate opens onto a completely private little world. You have a view of the valley that is only obstructed by the trees on the property. You feel like you are far off the beaten path, but you are conveniently located less than 10 minutes from Whole foods, Trader Joe's, many restaurants, and access to Rte 29. You are 15 minutes from Caneros wineries like Artesa and within 20 minutes of the restaurant mecca of Yountville. The house itself has a very well equipped kitchen. If you have family members who like to cook they will be very pleased; the knives are sharp. There is a fully stocked spice cabinet, coffee, tea, oil, vinegar, common condiments like mustard and ketchup, even sesame oil and soy sauce. There is a slow cooker, a deep fryer and a waffle maker, plenty of storage containers for your leftovers too. There is a gas grill and a lovely patio with all the necessary items for outdoor dining including vinyl table cloth with matching plates, napkins, and cups and plastic ware. There is also a washer and dryer and all the necessary soaps, detergents, and cleaning supplies. They even provide shampoo and body lotion. There is plenty of hot water. While I would rent this property again there are a couple things potential renters should be aware of. There is no dishwasher and the range is electric. The house is pet friendly and that means that after it has been closed up for a while between renters there was a vaguely musty, doggyish odor which dissipated after about 24 hours with the patio sliders and windows open. The house has not been renovated, but is country all the way from the 1950s. The bathrooms and kitchen while completely clean and functional are original to that decor. That sort of thing doesn't matter to us, but if you are looking for modern, up to date, sleek styling similar to what is seen in the Silverado Counrty Club vacation homes, this property would be a big shock. 04 July 2012 - 17:24:52

Everything about this house is convenient - the location, using the gate and the keypad entry. Not a single hiccup in being able to get in to the house! Everything was clean and comfortable and the well taken care of original features of the house are great conversation. The back patio was perfect for enjoying wine at the end of the day. I would definitely bring another group here. 24 July 2012 - 23:24:34

Words cannot do justice to how perfect this place is. A charming home nestled on a wooded hilltop in the heart of wine country. Close and remote at the same time. It was tempting to spend the whole trip relaxing on the back deck. And nothing beats bringing home some of the nice wine you just spent the day tasting to enjoy with some nice grilled steaks on this beautiful estate. You cannot go wrong with this rental. 12 September 2012 - 15:49:07

The home was very relaxing and quiet, perfect for a family get-together. The patio was my favorite spot, with its large trees and birds at the bird bath. The kitchen has everything! We loved the mid-century decor, quaint and nostalgic. The beds were comfortable, and everything was spotless. The dog enjoyed the big fenced yard when he was not wine-tasting with us! 24 September 2012 - 15:10:00

We had a wonderful stay at this charming home located in a quiet neighborhood. It was a good location for a girls' weekend, where we were able to hang out outside on the lovely patio, enjoying the beautiful scenery. We were also close enough to be able to tour the wineries during the day and go out to a wonderful restaurant at night. The amenities were perfect for what we needed. It was a nice change from staying in a hotel. 02 November 2012 - 04:28:13

House and property were great, and fit our family perfectly for our Christmas getaway. Grounds were great for our four legged friends and the setting and landscaping were beautiful. Though a rainy stay, the house was warm and cozy and met all of our needs. We would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend it to friends. Home was very well stocked with all of the necessities and just felt like home immediately. Owners were very accomodating with our check in and out times, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. 02 January 2013 - 22:41:11

This home is like stepping back in time.....everything is vintage. Everything from the pictures in the home, the lamps, and the appliances are vintage. But don't let that dissuade you - everything functions perfectly! We packed thinking we had to bring spices, certain cooking dishes, etc. But this house really is fully furnished. It had everything you could possibly need. Our dog enjoyed the property. The gardens on the top of the hill are beautiful. If you feel a little more rugged, you can walk down the hill and enjoy the rest of the property. Our dog sure did and we felt very safe letting her wander at will. I would highly recommend this vacation rental. We will definitely go back! 30 April 2013 - 01:30:38

This home is the definition of homey and sweet. We lived in it for three months when we relocated to Napa and were remodeling our purchased house, The owners are SO fabulous to work with and SO hospitable. The grounds are AMAZINGLY beautiful and well kept. The gate gives a nice sense of security and privacy. Hot air balloons float over on a regular basis and the neighbors are very nice. We lived here with our three young daughters and they loved it! It is VERY well equipped with everything you need for your stay and has all of the wifi and tv your could want. It is a bit dated (as you see from the photos) but the accommodations are super comfortable and the charm is never ending!! You wont be disappointed! 11 September 2013 - 03:07:03

We really enjoyed our stay in Napa, The home was exceptionally clean and the grounds were beautiful. It was centrally located for all our needs. The ease of renting their home was definitely a plus. We would not hesitate to rent this home again. 26 May 2015 - 20:31:22

We recently stayed 3 nights at the end of May and the house is absolutely amazing. The pictures do not do it justice, we miss the house so much already and we just got back. The owners so great and responsive it makes setting up the stay so easy. They have paid attention to every detail and they give you very specific instructions on how to fully enjoy the home. The house is spotless when you arrive. It is on a large piece of property, very private and secure, it is your own hidden oasis. You are quick 8 minute drive to Downtown napa, 30 minutes to St. Helena, 1 hour to Santa Rosa. Very cool old school charm, comfortable beds and plenty of area sit and talk with your family and friends. Nice large open kitchen so you can cook at talk with people, outdoor heater and BBQ. They have every utensil and kitchen amenity you can think of also!!! 5 Stars really is not enough. Thank you we will be back for sure. 02 June 2015 - 18:22:48

We loved our stay in this home. It is a beautifully-preserved '50s ranch with gardens all around. You can see some vineyards in the distance from the backyard. It was a great jumping-off point for our tour of the Napa Valley, and I would definitely recommend it for anyone coming to see wine country. 02 July 2015 - 15:40:22

We needed a "home" while looking for a home and this was perfect. Loaded with charm, privacy and conveniently located to town, shopping and wineries. The owner was very responsive whenever we needed anything and couldn't be easier to work with. It's always challenging for us to find vacation homes because we have 3 dogs, and this place is "doggy heaven." They were able to wander the extensive property and stay out of mischief. Compared to other places we looked at, the rental cost was very affordable. It also included semi-monthly house cleaning service which was a bonus that I didn't expect. If you are looking for a "blast to the past" (circa 50's), this will not disappoint. Not recommended for those looking for the typical modern conveniences/luxuries found in a newer home. 26 November 2017 - 17:26:00
