We really enjoyed our stay. Claude, the owner was very helpful. She gave us directions as needed and met us at the apartment when we arrived. The apartment has everything you need and was clean. Location was great, near several metro stations. Easy to get everywhere by metro or just walking. Would staying here again. 16 April 2015 - 18:21:20

We had a wonderful stay at this good-sized apartment in a very convenient location. We walked to Notre Dame and to the Bastille. Bus and metro stations were close by for travel to other main sites. Our hostess, Claude, was warm and welcoming and provided many helpful suggestions for our first visit to Paris. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equiped. We strongly recommend it as a great place to stay. 03 May 2015 - 17:01:06

We always make our VRBO rental choices based on the reviews; and, in the case of Claude's Large Studio in 'Le Marais', we are truly grateful that we had the opportunity to meet Claude and stay in her amazing apartment! The studio is extremely large for Paris standards; and, Claude has equipped it with everything one needs for enjoying the Parisian lifestyle. The location is perfect for taking the metro or walking to the various nearby restaurants and grocery stores. Claude was an excellent host in every way. She sent us directions to get there, met us at the apartment, showed us how to operate the laundry and the TV and told us about the free Wifi and international phone calls. Thank you, Claude! We love Paris and your apartment; and hope future travels see our return. 26 May 2015 - 19:11:28

AH...Paris...and a home away from home from which to enjoy all the magick...The Marais is a great spot from which to explore the wonders of Paris and "Claude's Castle is right in the smack middle of it. This was my 3rd visit to Paris and I've always stayed in hotels...nice, expensive, noisy place to sleep...seems a shame to spend all that money and have to eat 3 meals a day on the economy, too. A friend suggested that we search VBRO for an apartment. We quickly found Claude's. Reservations were easy and Claude responded quickly and in English (for those "Franc-o-phyles" who do not have the resource of fluent French). We called Claude for advice, and suggestions and she was always quick to answer. We didn't get to meet, but perhaps next year! The apartment is on a quiet street, 1st floor (1 floor above the street in France), and at the rear of the building. The stairs are not insurmountable (I had a broken foot) and the apartment is quite secure. It is one large room with a queen sized bed, a futon like sofa that opens into a low double bed, table for two, TV and Cable - a couple of English speaking channels, phone with free calls to US and Europe, adequate bathroom with a shower, & a GREAT French toilet (Tall), washer/dryer, 'fridge, 2 burner cook top, lovely French Press coffee pot, and PLENTY OF TOWELS. The neighborhood includes a supermarket, several restaurants of quality (with prices from reasonable to WOW), and within 2 blocks...a metro stop, several bus stops, a postal office-for mailing home those books you bought, gifts, keep-sakes, and dirty clothes, don't tell me you've not done that before... and a WONDERFUL Patisserie (I know, I probably misspelled that). The Patisserie is on Turbigno a block to the left...There you get your baguettes, and your lunch to eat in a park on your explorations...just stick it in your bag like real Parisians - a jambon and fromage sandwich with salad (lettuce and tomato)...OH HOW I CRAVE ANOTHER! If you prefer to eat your breakfast at the patisserie, the pastry selection is not only beautiful, it's just as flavorful. The neighborhood Brasseries are great. If you're in Paris to SEE and not particularly to break the bank dining at 5 Star restaurants ...This is your kind of eating. Have a nice bowl of Oignon Soup or a steak tartare...YUM We ate dinner at every one in quick walking distance...worth it! I'd really like to thank Claude for being so available to us and for providing our Parisian "Castle"! 28 June 2015 - 18:01:52

I love Paris, highly recommnend Claude's Studio to anyone wanting a true Paris experience... fantastic location makes it so easy to get around to all the major sights... This is my second stay at Claude's Studio , very secure and safe, really everything you need! Claude is lovely, and so easy to communicate with for any questions before and during your stay. We will book her studio again xo 11 July 2015 - 11:07:48
  10. We spent four days in this large studio apartment, exploring the upper Marais and St. Martin's canal. The apartment is on the 1st floor (2nd Floor in U.S. parlance), and the stairs are a bit tricky as they curve around. Once in the apartment, it is very comfortable. We were there in July with temperatures in the 90's and the air conditioning was a blessing! The kitchen was sufficient for a short stay, as we only made coffee and ate cereal and fruit in the apartment. The bathroom has a shower with removable head. There is plenty of cabinet space and an abundance of towels. The location is wonderful! Really good restaurants and bakeries within a 5-10 minute walk, and three metro stops at no more than 10 minutes walk. The canal area is about a 15 minute walk through Place Republic, and both the Place and canal are well worth the visit. The canal on a warm evening is buzzing with life as people picnic and stay cool by the canal breeze and cooling effect of the locks. Claude is very helpful in getting oriented to the area, with great written materials. She speaks excellent English and is readily available by email and phone. We plan on going back to Paris and this will be a great place to stay again! 23 July 2015 - 12:41:24

We recently stayed 5 nights in Claude's studio and it was perfect for a family of 3. We used the metro (and RER) exclusively to travel around the city and also took a side trip to Versailles. The beauty of this location is it's close proximity to 3 metro stations which provides you with the ability to plan ahead and limit the number of stops and/or transfers depending on the area to which you are traveling. The studio was clean, had everything we needed and Claude responded quickly to any inquiries before and during our stay. I would reserve this studio again in the future. Thanks for everything Claude! 22 August 2015 - 10:58:59

This is a wonderful place in Marais. We stayed for 3 days and were able to walk to many places. Very convenient location. Everything is close by. A supermarket is 100 meters away. A few Metro stations and buses take you anywhere. The apartment has everything we needed - good bed, nice shower and fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, free calls, TV. But most wonderful of all is the hostess. Claude was very welcoming and accommodating. Great directions to stores and restaurants and many good suggestions. She is always available if you need anything, you can just call her. And at the end, I forgot my ipad in the apartment. Claude mailed it to me to US next day. We hope to be back in Paris and will make sure to stay with Claude again. Can't be better. 29 August 2015 - 02:02:27

The studio was very comfortable and very quiet. It was right next door to the musee arts et metiers. A short distance to two metro stations and supermarkets. Basically easy to get anywhere. Felt very safe. Claud was a lovely host and very happy to help wherever she could. The studio was recommended by a friend and I will certainly recommend it to mine. 12 October 2015 - 20:16:33

A great studio for one or two people. Felt very safe and the location was great--very close to the metro which will take you anywhere, and also a close walk to many locations as well. Claude was very helpful with directions and was very nice overall. Would definitely recommend. 09 December 2015 - 18:40:45

I recently had this apartment as my home away from home for 10 days in Le Marais. If I were actually living in Paris, I could quite happily call this my home. It's in a fantastic location that is quiet and within easy walking distance of not only various attractions, but no shortage of options for restaurants or other shopping. The photos of the apartment are very accurate and having hi-speed, reliable wi-fi as well as laundry facilities were very much appreciated. Getting to and from the airport is relatively painless, as is getting around the city from the apartment itself as it's a short walk to either bus lines or two different metro stations. The owner, Claude, is very helpful and there if you need, but not intrusive. She had some great recommendations for restaurants in the area and I certainly applaud her recommendation of "Julien". Make sure you book ahead for a great table. I do not hesitate in recommending this apartment rental to almost anyone, aside from those with disabilities as there's no elevator access in the old building. I'll certainly be looking to book again on my next trip to Paris. 11 February 2014 - 01:37:05

We stayed in this accommodation for 5 nights. We were a family of 4 which included a 2yr old. Claude was surprised when we arrived to see the baby. She said the baby cannot cry which was almost impossible since we were flying all the way from US and were jet lagged. This really annoyed us and we were ready to walk out. However, Claude toned down after we showed her an email asking specifically about the place being child friendly. The accommodation was comfortable and near public transport. It is a good base to explore Paris. We will not stay in this place again as the host being friendly id as important as the physical comfort... 31 August 2015 - 20:34:47

My husband and I recently spent 6 nights at this Paris studio and we can recommend it if you want value and comfort, without luxury. It is well-located (metros Arts et Metiers & Strasbourg-St Denis, and many bus lines), the street is quiet and non-touristy, but plenty of cafes are a block away and the Marches des Enfants Rouges is not far. It looks exactly like the photos, but felt bigger because of the high ceilings and large windows. It is very quiet, since the windows face an interior courtyard. A bonus is the air conditioning that worked very well! A/C is hard to find in many Paris apartments, especially at this price point. Its spacious for a studio with well organized space, has good wifi, a comfortable sofa and the bed is also very comfortable, not hard like many Euro beds. The kitchen was functional and has the washer/dryer combo off to the left side. We missed having a dishwasher, but we knew there was none beforehand, and we washed dishes with the supplied dish liquid. The table was useful for breakfasts and some meals. One entry hall closet is filled with extra towels and bedding, and there is an empty closet with one side for hanging clothes and the other side with shelves for storing clothes or other personal belongings, and our empty luggage also fit at the bottom. The bathroom shower had plenty of hot water with strong pressure where if you turned it fully on, the drain would not handle the flow. But keep it on half pressure and it drained effectively. There is storage for your toilet and bath supplies on the shelves under the sink. Communication with Mme Tixier was excellent, she returned emails with answers promptly. She provided information for the best public transportation to take from the train station. She was waiting for us at the prearranged hour, and was so kind to have the A/C working on the unseasonably hot May day we arrived, and we really appreciated that! She explained everything about the apartment and was always available via phone or email if we had questions. We appreciated the information sheets and took advantage of the Carrefour City market and the Picard frozen food store (gourmet frozen food to be microwaved, try it, youll love it!). Since no one was checking in the day we left we were able to stay later, so we stayed until 2 PM since we had an evening flight. Thank you, Claude! When we return to Paris we will surely stay at Mme Tixiers comfortable and conveniently located apartment. 12 June 2017 - 02:59:00

The apartment needs updating, poor lighting, a small investment in better television. there is no oven for cooking, could use soms updates to furniture, if you sit on the couch it slants foward very uncoftable.I felt very unconftable the minute i walked in, i had rented the apartment for 1 month and left after 14 days. just be more careful than i was. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone!!! In the streets people were sleeping, right outside the apartment door . when the shower backed up i called CLAUDE she told me there is a plunger next to the toilet. 07 May 2013 - 12:24:11

The apartment is much smaller than appears. We were kept awake by construction noise from a building not 30 feet away - slamming of pipes, hammering, etc. starting early in the morning. The kitchen was ill equipped. The beds were uncomfortable - the bedding kept slipping off the beds. We also had problems with the owner. It was not a good experience. 06 November 2013 - 17:18:01
