My husband and I spent four nights in Amsterdam last August and this place felt like the ideal location right in Jordaan. The apartment is clean and has what you will need. It is right off the canal and within walking and biking and boating distance to everything. This is not a place that you will want to hang out and spend a lot of time in, but that is totally fine because it is comfortable and quiet enough and location is everything. We had a great time in Amsterdam and were so grateful to have this little flat for our stay. 05 April 2014 - 23:48:13

I stayed in this apartment with two of my friends for a long weekend in May, it was fantastic! The location was perfect, and walking distance from the city centre. The apartment itself was spacious and we each had a lot of room. I would highly reccommend this apartment to anyone, we honestly could not have asked for a better place to stay. 12 June 2014 - 07:26:02

An excellent choice for tourist visits to Amsterdam. Our booking and meeting arrangements went smoothly and dealings with the very helpful owner were easy. Although its in an older building, the apartment has been renovated and was clean but there is an Amsterdam staircase to climb to get to the first floor. The kitchen and furniture are fine and the bathroom is adequate. Theres space for two, but theres no living area and no TV (which werent problems for us). The location is safe and very convenient since you can easily walk to most places in central Amsterdam. The street is calm but has lots of character. There are many shops, cafs and restaurants in nearby streets. 03 July 2014 - 08:28:04

My husband and I stayed here and it was great. The location is fabulous and the apartment is very comfortable. Loved the view of the West Church and sound of the bells. Much better value than a hotel. The kitchen had everything, even olive oil. I was surprised that the space seemed bigger than the pictures. The two living areas have pocket doors so could easily sleep three. All in all would definitely stay here again! 23 October 2014 - 00:43:33

The apartment has an ideal location in the Jordaan, just around the corner from the Prinsengracht and at the edge of the "9-little-streets" shopping district. It is close to public transportation but because of its central location, you can walk to many of the city's attractions. If you like antiques, don't miss the indoor antique market at the nearby Elandsgracht (also a great street for grocery shopping). The two rooms are separated by a spacious galley kitchen and a modern bathroom with a separate toilet. It was clean and everything you would need for a comfortable stay was available. Frans, the owner, lives in the building and can answer any questions you may have. We enjoyed our stay and couldn't have asked for anything more! 27 January 2015 - 01:14:12

Nice small apartment that is over the owner's yoga studio (he invited us to classes but we were to busy sight-seeing) in a quiet neighborhood, the Jordaan. There's a separate entrance and steep stairs to climb to get to the 1st floor apt. The apartment is long and skinny with the bedroom and a sofa on one end and a dining table and a twin bed at the other. In the corridor in between is the kitchen and the small bathroom. It is laid out well to house a couple in the comfortable king size bed and another person in the twin bed. The kitchen had a big gas cooktop, oven/microwave, a full refrigerator, and lots of pots/pans/utensils/plates,mugs, etc. There was also a french balcony that had a view of Westerkerke. We loved being serenaded by the Chimes! Two things really make this place special. One is location; quiet neighborhood with a good grocery store and lots of nearby restaurants. Walking distance to all sights in Amsterdam. About a mile to the Museumplein or Central Station or Waterlooplein or Red Light district. We had on OV Chipkaart but did not use it during our 5 day stay until we left for the airport. The second thing was the owner. He really went out of the way to help us and make us feel welcomed. We are not nervous travelers but we arrived on King's Day and all of Central Amsterdam is full of Party Animals, no mass transit or automobiles can make it through the crowds. The only way to get from Central Station to the apartment would be to walk with your luggage. Difficult to say the least! Well, Frans volunteered to meet us at the Station and guide us past the biggest Party Jams, safely to the apartment...truly above and beyond. 25 May 2015 - 14:01:29

Frans was a wonderful host and his apartment in Jordaan was the perfect place for our family of 3. He even had a toddler bed in the apartment for our 2 and a half year old daughter! There was also a park nearby, and great little shops and restaurants to discover. The apartment was impeccable and it even had a washing machine which allowed us to do some laundry before leaving for another country. We strongly recommend this apartment for anyone looking for an accessible, clean and quiet place. We walked almost everywhere, and the tram and buses were only a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Would book again in a heartbeat if we ever come back to Amsterdam. 28 May 2015 - 12:17:38

Tolle zentrumsnahe Unterkunft. Sehr netter Vermieter. Schne Wohnung, gemtlich, alles da. Lage und Einrichtung der Ferienwohnung knnten nicht besser sein, um von dort aus Amsterdam zu Fu zu erkunden. 05 November 2017 - 18:52:00

We had a great stay at this lovely apartment. Frans is a most agreeable and helpful host. The layout of the apartment was perfect for us and our daughter; she got her own sleeping space at the opposite end of the long apartment. It is convenient to an Albert Heijn grocery, and there were lots of leftover condiments from previous guests, which is always helpful. The street it is on is very quiet and non-touristy, but it is walkable to anything you might care to see in the city. The only downside was that often cigarette smoke would waft in from people smoking right under our windows. 12 July 2015 - 07:37:17

We enjoyed the stay in a very private apartment. It was quiet, clean, homey, and open to air. Fran was so helpful and available to us. I felt safe. We were happy about the area being so convenient to so many areas and shopping. Thanks for everything!!!! 05 September 2015 - 18:46:08

The owner/manager was personable, helpful and accommodating. The apartment was clean, spacious by Dutch standards and modern. My only reservation would be the WiFi signal strength, which was adequate, but sometimes weak. That said, I would definitely rent this apartment again. 11 April 2016 - 11:00:39

What a great place to stay-clean, quiet, great location, and a great host. The apartment was very big, it had a great view of the Westermark Church, and everything we needed was in our reach. Our favorite parts about the apartment were the kitchen, views, and comfy bed. The Jordaan district is now my favorite place to stay in Amsterdam and Frans gave great recommendations for restaurants and groceries. I can't imagine a better place to stay! 14 June 2016 - 15:27:32

This apartment was perfect for our stay. The location is convenient to everything, yet is still in a cute, quiet neighborhood. The apartment was exactly as described. Frans helped us get acquainted with the area, and pointed us to a few key spots right as we arrived. We would definitely stay here again. 15 December 2017 - 12:25:00

Really nice flat, located on a quiet street just off the 9 streets. Apartment had everything you could ask for and Frans was a great informative host. Thank you for having us! 03 January 2018 - 10:17:00

We stayed in this lovely apartment for two weeks, over Christmas holiday. It was a dream! We arrived bleary eyed, in the morning, and were greeted at the door by Frans. He's a kind and knowledgable man, with a good sense of humor, and was always available for any questions we might have. He offered a plethora of great ideas, from food, to shopping, to transport, to art exhibits. We really enjoyed our exchanges with Frans...he feels like an old friend, now. The apartment was perfect! It was clean, and ready for us upon arrival. The open floor plan feels much bigger than the pictures, and the separation of living space worked out great, with our twelve year old daughter having a place to go, and shut the door, as twelve year old daughters do. The washing machine was a terrific help, especially since we were there for two weeks! The Westerkerk clock tower outside the bedroom window was delightful! Every fifteen minutes, you hear hit chime, and on Christmas Eve, it played carols. Magical! The location of the apartment is perfect. It is located on a quiet, narrow street, where right around the corner, you step into the lively Jordaan area, full of shopping, food, sights, and bicycles. I've read reviews where people were unhappy with the internet, but really, it worked fine. We used it for our correspondence, and the rest of the time, we explored the city. Lack of television is a welcome thing, with so much to see, taste, and experience, right outside the door. The kitchen provides ample space for preparing and storing food, and there is even a dishwasher. Shopping markets and outdoor markets are nearby, so we really had fun making meals with the bounty we found. There is so much GOOD FOOD. We didn't use transportation, while there, aside from the taxi to and from the airport, and just walked everywhere we needed to go, including markets, museums, central station, shopping, restaurants, and markets. In short, it was a dream vacation, and Frans helped make it that way. We didn't want to leave. We definitely will stay at this property again, and recommend it, without hesitation. 31 December 2016 - 14:59:00

We travel fulltime & rent apartments around the world through VRBO/Homewawy all the time. We count on owners giving an accurate description of their amenities when deciding where to stay. We stayed 2 weeks. This is the first time the description of amenities did NOT match what was in the apt. There is NO satellite or cable ANYTHING in this apartment yet it still shows it is as of today. This was very upsetting as we always watch major sporting events, etc on TV plus we don't go out in the evenings. We travel/explore during the day. The owner was unapologetic & said this was a quiet apt plus he didn't want the noise with people sitting around smoking etc. He said we could just watch or read things on our iPads. After further conversation he does not intent to add it so DONT LIST cable/satellite as an amenity. The wifi is REALLY WEAK & only accessible in 1 corner of the apt in the back. There is no router in the apt so it piggybacks off his downstairs apt. The wifi was not strong enough to use FaceTime to talk with the family or use you tube or other like apps without some buffering issues. My husband informed the owner it was slow but based on the response it was a known issue. These items were a unwelcome surprise but you have no options once you have paid in advance & arrive. We use these apartments like they are our home rather than being on vacation so we rely on what the owner states in their ad. The pictures are not accurate as there is now a single bed in the front of the unit with a table/3chairs plus wall units. The couch is now in the back across from the bed. FYI...The bathroom is a tiled wet room with no shower enclosure. There is a door to the toilet area in the bthrm. The back view is of a dirty roof out the French balcony window. You can see & hear the nearby clock tower which chimes/bells rings every 15 minutes. In all fairness if you are here on vacation or a short stay and tv and wifi are not a high priority to you then this apartment is in a good location close to transportation, a grocery store, many restaurants and museums. Good bed & Washing machine. Amsterdam is a wonderful city & this area is safe/pleasant to walk around. The airport bus comes nearby so no car is needed. Get an OV Chipcard for transportation & we highly recommend a Museumkart that will pay for itself in a few visits. We hope this review is helpful to our fellow travelers and more accurately describes the situation in the apt. 28 July 2016 - 06:34:00
