This home is huge and clean and right on the the northeast finger of Greenwood Lake. The home has everything you need for a great vacation. The kitchen was to die for. It has a full size stainless freezer, full stainless refrig, granite topped center island and counter tops, an oversized stainless oven and a great view of the lake. The owner was a wealth of information and we can't wait for our next visit. 25 September 2007 - 03:32:43

A group of girlfriends and I stayed at Tara House in February. It's a perfect house for a group gathering. The open kitchen and large dining room table are great for cooking and eating. The house was in great shape and a great size! (We especially loved all the bathrooms!) The property and lake are beautiful. We will definitely try to stay at this house again. Thanks! 10 March 2008 - 17:03:02

The house we very well maintained, cleaned, and decorated. We enjoyed all this house had to offer and cannot recommend the house highly enough! 05 February 2009 - 13:13:40

We really enjoyed our Ladies Weekend at Tara House. The living area is beautiful and comfortable for a group. The kitchen is a cooks dream! The outdoor space, yard, lake, decks, and hot tub were perfect for our warm spring weekend. The owner was pleasant and accomodating to deal with and I would highly reccomend this rental. Thank you! 30 March 2009 - 17:49:46

I stayed at the Tara house with a group of 7 guys for a bachelor party weekend. The house was all that it claims to be and more. We planned on being outside on the lake and deck most of the time, however, the back up plan for rain was to be able to be inside the house and comfortable. When it did rain, we were not disappointed as the house is spacious. The game room is the best room I have ever played ping pong in, great lighting and table placement. If you were in a room upstairs, you could hardly even hear the guests downstairs, I would imagine people with kids would appreciate this. Hot tub was great. House was clean, and every thing functioned as it should. Kitchen and outdoor grill are excellent. In fact, we only left the house to go food shopping. We booked Tara house because it included use of the pontoon boat. If you are interested in fishing, or even swimming in the lake, you need the boat to get out to the main part of the lake, as the house sits on an inlet that tends to get very murky and overgrown with weeds. The boat runs, but we were not as confident in using it to take us too far, as it frequently was difficult to start, and one of the guys we were with knows what he is doing( he owns a boat), so it wasn't just a lack of experience on our part. That said, for the price of the rental including a boat, this place rocks!!!! We couldn't have found a better deal. Highly recommended. 20 June 2008 - 15:13:11

The first impression was great! The house was roomy! The view was spectacular! The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful; loved having access to a paddle-board and kayak. Kevin was kind enough to answer and help out with several concerns..but....there are major plumbing issues with the house. My father was in the living room, when he felt drops....he looked up to see water dripping from the ceiling..then it really started flowing. So, for the remainder of the stay, we could no longer use the shower in one of the upstairs b/r. The downstairs toilet flushed intermittently (would not refill on occasion.) The front door does not lock. No rugs in entryway, which made it hard to keep floor clean. Refrigerator drips water across floor. Master tub constantly ran water. 28 June 2017 - 15:01:00

My family & I had a great time enjoying a week at this beautiful, huge lake front house. My kids loved the game room and I loved the hot tub. There was plenty of fishing as well and the rides on the pontoon boat was beautiful and relaxing. We will defintely be returning! 14 August 2010 - 00:29:50

We stayed at Tara House over West Point's Ring Weekend - our Cadet just LOVED the spacious home and it was the perfect distance away from USMA...not too far to go back and forth but far enough that he felt like he was getting away. The Greenwood Lake area is beautiful, with lots of nice restaurants and places to visit. We enjoyed a cruise around the lake on the pontoon boat and cooked some great meals in the HUGE kitchen. All of the bedrooms are big and comfortable, and the owner was thoughtful and attentive. We would love to come back again! 02 September 2010 - 12:43:22

We have been planning a getaway weekend for a few years and this was our first time to Tara House. This house was very comfortable and with 5 bedrooms everyone was able to have their own. We really enjoyed the large living area and kitchen. We had a great day in town shopping and enjoying luch. The owner was very easy to work with and very responsive to all emails. Everyone agreed that this would be our annual location for all future weekend getaways. We look forward to next year! 17 April 2012 - 02:23:05

We just spent a week at this great house with its wonderful location. The first half of our stay we were 13 woman, all family members. We chose this house for our 25th Girls Weekend and it did not disappoint! On Monday most of our party left with the exception of 4, Kevin was fine with the idea of our husbands joining us for the few remaining days. We had a great time on the pontoon (A BIG THANK YOU, KEVIN) the lake is beautiful! The houses around the lake are beautiful, we enjoyed exploring the area. Go to the beach, it's small, but offers a lot! They had a band playing on Friday night, unfortunately we missed it. A few girls went to the driven and said it was fun, especially since they hadn't been to one in decades. We went to two of the restaurants in the area, Planet Pizza a little pizzeria, that easily accommodated our large group. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The other restaurant, Emerald Point has a great atmosphere and good food. Sit inside or out, we did both. If your sitting outdoors you'll be overlooking the lake, what a great view. We went to Mountain Creek for the day to the water park, what a fun time. We would love to get back in the winter to enjoy the cold weather activities. There's plenty to do, either at the house or in the surrounding area. Now to the house, it has plenty of room. The sleeping arrangements are just as said. The master bedroom is huge and 2 of the girls shared the room with the mothers sleeping on a comfy air mattress, they brought. Not that it was needed, we just preferred not to open the sofa in the living room. The Kitchen is also huge, you'll find everything you'll need. Great layout. Plenty of parking. The house offers so much to do, however we enjoyed each others company so much we didn't even get to the ping pong, or pool table. Maybe next time! 10 August 2013 - 15:15:06

So we LOVED this home, its location and PIZZA Planet. The size was perfect for the large group ranging in ages 4-81. The home was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and dining room were perfect and had everything!!!! My small, issues were the frig would not stay at temp. but that being said there was a freezing cold frig in garage a few feet away. The foldout couch had some springs missing so we could not use but that being said we found a mattress upstairs in the closet that we brought out. And last but not least we could not get the tvs to work in smaller bedrooms, but really not a big deal because we were out an awful lot. Im sure this all has been resolved because it was months ago and Kevin was very attentive to our needs. Other then those very small 3 things, our children loved the the game room, the back yard and the HOT tub. We had a blast and everyone had ample space. Thanks Kevin for kindness and accommodating all of us from TEXAS. 14 July 2014 - 16:35:02

We had several families share this house for a total of 12 people. There was plenty of room and everyone loved the house. We had young children, teenagers and grandmothers in our group. We loved the lake and the pontoon boat was a treat. The kitchen is wonderful - and is better stocked than most rentals. We will rent this home again when in the area and I've shared the details with other friends who plan to visit. Tons of apple orchards nearby if you're visiting in the fall. Tara House is a great find. Thanks Kevin! P.S. - The best place to shop for groceries nearby is the Price Chopper in Warwick. Very clean newer store with a high end feel, deli, bakery and eatery. It's less than 20 minutes away and prices and selection better than the walmart 30 minutes away. 23 December 2014 - 15:28:22
