About listing

Property for rent LEGALLY REGISTERED at the City Hall of Paris. A luxury river-view apartment on the Ile Saint-Louis, a spellbinding tiny island on the river Seine. This prestigious 55 sq metre apartment, completely redecorated with excellent finishings, is situated on the first floor, the “étage noble”, of a renovated historical building dating back to 1643, with elevator and janitor. The house is very quiet and has got an entrance hall, a large living room, a comfortable double bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen and a bathroom. The elegant and spacious living room boasts a decorative 18th century stone fireplace, 17th century up to 20th century oil paintings and gouaches and two large windows overlooking the Seine and giving the chance to enjoy a fantastic view of the river, the Marie and Louis-Philippe bridges, the Paris city hall etc.. as well as the sight of the bateaux-mouches chugging down the river! The kitchen is full equipped with any electric appliance (oven, microwave, silent dish-washer, washer-dryer, Nespresso coffee maker etc..). The bedroom is very spacious and peaceful and is characterized by two windows on the courtyard, high quality modern furnishings, a monumental glass chandelier and a marble bathroom en suite. At disposal of the guests there are free internet WI-FI, TV LCD, DVD and CD player. The Ile-Saint-Louis, the very heart of ancient Paris, together with the other island Ile de la Cité, is an area absolutely unique and fascinating with its old-style buildings, tiny shops, restaurants and cafès. Furthermore it represents an excellent strategic starting point to visit the most famous attractions like Notre-Dame Cathedral, Sainte Chapelle, Conciergerie, the Tour Eiffel and others or districts like the Marais and Saint-Germain-des-Pres, many in a walking distance from the house, just off the bridges. So the location and the house itself are just the best to feel the real essence of Paris from a luxurious and privileged position.

We recently spent a couple of weeks staying at this lovely apartment. This was our 3rd trip to Paris and the 2nd time we had stayed on Ile Saint Louis. It was a fantastic apartment, the perfect size for my husband and I; the sofa bed in the main room was also great when some friends popped over from London for the weekend. The view was great from the two large windows, the sitting area is a good size and great for relaxing after a hard day wandering around the city. The bathroom and bedroom are also a good size, especially by Paris standards. Catherine was fantastic, extremely welcoming and helpful, and nothing was too hard. The kitchen was small but I didnt go to Paris to cook, but if you intend to, perhaps just invest in a copy of The Little Paris Kitchen by Rachel Khoo. We would definitely stay here again. 08 April 2017 - 06:31:00

Hubby and I spent a few short days here in September and naturally wished we'd have planned a longer sojourn...the lovely apartment is situated right along the Quai d'Bourbon with a very pleasing view of the river from the windows in the living area, where one can also spy the convenient steps to the water right across the very quiet street. The apartment is very clean with a generous layout, and is decorated throughout with tasteful art. There is a full bath with Italian fittings and lavish marble shower, and a powder room near the front door as well. So superior to a stay at a hotel, it was as if we'd borrowed an apartment from an old friend. Comfortable, beautiful and well-situated in Paris, this place is a true gem. Working with the owner and the onsite manager was a pleasure, they took care of our special requests without a blink. I wish to return, and I would recommend this place to friends. C'est bon! 24 November 2014 - 16:21:50
Everything about our Paris trip was better because we had such a charming, cozy, comfortable home-away-from-home. The photos accurately show the space--both the olde world charm and modern renovation--it was clean and beautiful. We were instantly pleased the minute we walked in (captivating Seine view), and all arrangements were so capably handled by the managers (Roberta online and Catherine onsite). The location is highly recommended--safe neighborhood, easy metro, easy 2-minute walk to everything you need (trendy and historic shops, fresh markets, restaurants, pharmacy)... an ultimate Paris experience. We utilized all apartment conveniences--laundry, dishwasher, stove & fridge, TV-stereo, heat, internet and free landline phone, elevator for luggage--all reliable, clean and updated--light years better than a hotel. Our only (very minor) complaint is that the sofa wasn't super-comfortable, but that's the nature every pullout-bed--so not really a complaint. The building was quiet, the bed was a true queen and all linens/towels were high-quality--so a good night's sleep also made for a successful trip for first-timers to France. A secondary review on the apartment: We had another couple over (friends from the US who happened to be in Paris at the same time) and they asked for the listing info as they travel to Paris more often. My husband and I are usually questioning when a review sounds too good to be true, and don't post reviews very often, but we sincerely recommend this apartment and hope to return to this property. 25 November 2014 - 16:19:42

We very much enjoyed our stay. The location, the apartment itself and quality of care made our time in paris the perfect start to our vacation in France. I would highly recommend this home to other friends. 24 November 2014 - 13:48:32

The apartment is what I envisaged a chic city dwelling to be. It is beautifully furnished with stunning views across the river. It is ideally situated on the pretty yet bustling Ile Saint Louis, close to all the bars and restaurants, yet in a peaceful spot right next to the river. Our hosts were very welcoming and extremely accommodating, for example immediately replacing a dvd player that was not working. We would return in a heart beat. 24 November 2014 - 11:43:14

We had an amazing time in Paris and the apartment was perfect. We have no complaints. I would also like to mention that the person who met us on arrival, Dominique, and the person who checked us out, Catherine, were extremely helpful in explaining the apartment, telling us about the local area, and arranging a cab for our trip back to the airport when we left. We were in Paris with two other friends who happened to be staying in nearby hotels. When they came over to visit they were blown away with the apartment. There is no comparison. We will be back. 02 December 2014 - 01:24:27

This apartment was incredible. It's location made walking to most sites and neighborhoods possible. It accommodated three of us quite comfortably. Catherine the onsite contact was very helpful. The Isle has many good restaurants but Auberge Deaux Ponts stands out as a wonderful dining experience. It is very casual, not expensive, and very good food. We would stay there again. 20 June 2015 - 17:07:48

Your property was exactly as presented. Our greeter was prompt and knowledgeable . The personalized recommendations were spot on, and any tenant will be the envy of any of their traveling companions who stay in a hotel. Location ( and this is always a matter of preference) is my personal choice. The island in the Seine River, the proximity to Notre Dame, Marisis, St, G; its all right there. Metro is close and easy, but if your feet work, that's all you'll need for a perfect Paris experience. I really doubt anyone leaves this apartment regretting their choice. Stop thinking and book it now! 22 June 2015 - 13:01:23

It has been said that to stay on the "Island" is special. To stay on the Island and in this apartment made our recent visit to Paris very special. The view alone makes it a 5 star stay. The property is exceptional in every way. When looking for a property to stay in for our too short visit (5 nights), we wanted something special as we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The location, as others have pointed out, is exceptional. Close to "everything" that is Paris and yet a retreat from the intensely tourist areas of the 5th and 6th. It was fun to watch the boats ply the river in the evening and wave to passengers. When the doors opening to the river were closed there was perfect silence (always an issue for me). The apartment furnishings were elegant and stylish it was obvious that the owners had put in a great deal of thought into the furnishings . The bed was extremely comfortable and again it was peaceful and quiet. The kitchen was small but functional and the coffee pot was not a Nepresso which seems to be all the rage in vacation rentals. We appreciated the small elevator to take our luggage up and down without disturbing the other residents (the building itself appears to be both residential and commercial) A special thanks to the management company that oversaw our arrival and departure and who were extremely responsive when we had an issue with the washer/dryer. Their communications before, during and after our visit were helpful and appreciated. Definitely professionals. In our 30 years of semi-regular visits to the city of lights we have stayed in many different hotels and more recently apartments, including on the Island. However, now that we have stayed here, there is no longer a need to consider anything else. We will return and hopefully very soon! 14 July 2015 - 00:22:05

My husband and I recently stayed at this lovely flat. The property was everything we expected and more. The location is perfect for a stay in Paris for visiting the cultural and tourist sites, shopping and dining. Ile Saint-Louis is quiet with friendly shopkeepers and several nice restaurants (we particularly enjoyed L'Auberge des Deux Ponts). Not only is the island a surprisingly quiet oasis in the center of Paris but the building itself is very quiet. The flat boasts a very comfortable bedroom and a roomy bathroom with large shower. The sitting room is comfortable and cheery with a beautiful view of the Seine. The pictures can't do justice to the experience. The property manager is friendly and helpful making us feel at home. The only potential drawback for some is the kitchen that while having all the modern luxuries is small. So if cooking is your thing the space is tight. But despite that we managed to prepare a lovely dinner to celebrate American Thanksgiving during our stay. We recommend this flat without hesitation. 10 December 2015 - 22:11:15

The apartment was so comfortable. Every afternoon we'd open the large windows and enjoyed a glass of wine whilst watching the river boats go past right outside. Very comfortable and would gladly stay again. 16 January 2017 - 21:28:37

We spent Easter week in this fabulous le Saint-Louis one bedroom walk-up. The location is perfect with a beautiful view of the Seine and amenities within steps: picerie, boulangerie et ptisserie, charcuterie, crmerie and restaurants. Ntre Dame cathedral is just across the picturesque bridge not two blocks away. Roberta and Catherine, the property managers, were exceptionally helpful and courteous. Catherine met us for early check-in the morning of our arrival. She was friendly and helpful and a wonderful ambassador for the city of lights! When there was a problem with the shower mid-week, she got it fixed promptly the same day. The apartment is spacious and comfortable given it's location in the heart of Paris and the tiny kitchen fully functional. We enjoyed at least one meal at home each day, and Nespresso coffee each morning. The apartment is beautifully decorated with original artwork and many antiques. High ceilings, beautiful woodwork, charming casement windows and and other historic details add to the appeal. Our two teenage girls shared the LR sleeper sofa while parents got the master bedroom. The lights of the bateaux-mouche illuminated the living / dining room as they passed on the river at night, adding charm to an already charming experience. The half bath in the foyer made sharing one bathroom for 4 people easier. The white marble tile in bath is lovely. As March in Paris can be quite chilly , we appreciated the independent radiators in each room. The bottle of exquisite champagne waiting for us upon our arrival was a welcoming touch. Catherine was an outstanding "hostess" as well as on-site property manager. She made many recommendations based on our interests and handled the details of our stay impeccably. We look forward to returning! 18 January 2017 - 01:44:51

A perfect and very authentic Parisian apartment in one of the best locations in Paris. We joked that every time we looked to see how far something was (The Pompidou, a nice restaurant, cooking school, a favorite cafe, a jazz club) it was always about a 15-20 minute walk. As with most Parisian apartments, the kitchen is super small, as is the bedroom and bathroom. But with a living room looking directly out over the Seine and if you want to live like a real Parisian in a great location you could do no better. 31 December 2017 - 21:29:00
