We had a wonderful and comfortable stay in this awesome Napa home. Would definitely like to stay there again if we have the opportunity to return. 10 May 2017 - 06:04:00

The house was perfect! Everything was clean and the landscaping outside and antique dcor inside made it feel idyllic and memorable. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a unique Napa experience. 06 July 2017 - 13:53:00

Rented this home for a girls weekend trip and had a fabulous time. Plenty of room for 3, spent time cooking and catching up in this beautiful home. The natural light in the home is stunning and the original character is so unique. Incredibly clean and well stocked. Easy check in and out. Location is perfect to downtown. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a home! 24 July 2017 - 15:47:00

Overall, the house was fine. The location was good, and if you're enamored by the 1930's art deco, this is the house for you-- lighting fixtures, furniture, bathroom tile, etc., all created an authentic look. However, the 1930's mirrors and light fixtures did make it a challenge to do one's makeup. If you battle allergies, you'll struggle here. The basement is damp, and although the owner has both a door and dehumidifier between the basement entrance and the house to combat the problem, the damp smell remains. I've been home for two days and have realized that I need to launder even my clean clothes because they smell like that house. The garden is pretty and well maintained, but outside seating is limited, and the chairs by the bocce court were broken. The bath towels were dark brown (and could have benefited from a good bleaching), but the sheets were of high quality and the beds were comfortable. Most notable for us was the rude interaction with the property manager. We contacted him to ask if we could leave our luggage at the house past check-out because our friend (who was also our transportation) had to return to work in San Jose on our last day, and we had hoped to just pack up, leave our bags, and spend the day walking around downtown Napa before going to the airport. To be honest, I had really expected him to say "sure," since the property wasn't going to be re-occupied for the next 3 days. His response was quite the contrary. He informed me that I should have "reserved a full service hotel rather than a house!!!" and that he was "not responsible for [my] items after check-out!" The negative interaction magnified the house's flaws, which is a shame because despite the dampness, the house really was charming and convenient. 16 July 2016 - 17:17:00

Massa House was the PERFECT place for our stay in Napa. The home was clean, the kitchen was great for cooking up breakfast before we started on our day, and the proximity to downtown Napa was amazing! We loved staying at Massa and would absolutely return! 15 September 2017 - 13:41:00

Enjoyed our stay in this quaint Napa house. It was a nice place to return to each night after a busy day in the Napa Valley. 30 September 2017 - 14:32:00

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Massa house for the 2nd time. This time we came with our 10 month old (brought our own pack and play) and our parents. We had a very comfortable stay and loved the fact that we can take the stroller and stroll into town. The beds are comfy and the house is comfy and cozy. This is definitely our go to house now if we find our way back to Napa. 09 September 2017 - 06:30:00

The Massa house is a very nice property right in the heart of Napa town. Easy walk to downtown and all that it has to offer! Easy access to 29 and the rest of the valley. Love the period feel of the house, the furnishings and the back yard/courtyard bocce court are a great place to spend an evening! 08 October 2017 - 15:29:00

We've stayed in Massa House twice now, and bring all of our out-of town-guests here or recommend it if we can't go ourselves. You feel at home the minute you walk in, there's something about this house that is so welcoming. It's been beautifully restored, everything just seems right. I can't agree with the other review enough, it's so much better than staying in a hotel room. The bocce court is a hoot (even though we are awful at it). Great to be able to walk into town and leave the car behind - enjoy dinner and those Napa wines! 19 June 2010 - 23:41:51

My wife & I stayed here with another couple for a weekend in June and had the best time. Walking distance to numerous dining establishments made every night fun and easy. Very good locations for easy access to highway 29 and endless wineries. Very clean and cozy house. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to Napa. 06 August 2010 - 14:55:07

We stayed at the Massa House over Labor Day weekend. There were four adults. We LOVED the house. It was impeccably decorated with period furniture and had everything you could want. It was conveniently located to downtown napa as well as Highway 29. The owners were very nice and pleasant to work with. They provided a book with extensive information on Napa and the surroundings. Plus the free WiFi is fast!! We would definitely stay here again. 06 September 2010 - 17:21:03
  13. My boyfriend and I stayed here along with another couple. The house is tastefully decorated and very cozy. The beds are comfortable, although, if you are picky with pillows, bring your own. The house is perfect for couples as it's spacious and the bedrooms are separated by the bathroom--excellent alternative to renting hotel rooms. It is also perfectly located a short walk away (1 mile) to Downtown Napa. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone heading to Napa and would stay there again in a heartbeat! The only "trouble" we had was with the Wifi as we couldn't find the password anywhere--perhaps the owners can just add it to the welcome sheet! 22 April 2011 - 05:45:41

Great location in the heart of the city of Napa, easy access to the highway, historic downtown napa, and all the other necessities. Management was prompt and responsive as well. No frills, historic home, but quiet and clean. 15 October 2017 - 14:13:00

The Masa House truely is a magical place. My wife and I just spent over a week in Napa and the Masa House was really a highlight of our trip. It was our home away from home and we could not have been more sad to have to say goodbye. From all of its character to its proximity to anything in downtown Napa this house is excellent and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Napa Valley. 10 March 2013 - 18:30:01

A delightful, charming, and very comfortable house - with wonderful architectural touches to add interest in every room. The living room has good furniture and lighting; the kitchen is like stepping into grandmother's house (in the most pleasant manner); the beds are very comfy; everything is spotlessly clean, and there is an endearing feeling of being in someone's well-loved home. It does sit on a somewhat busy street, but with the bedrooms in the back, we had no problem with noise while sleeping. There's also ample room in the back where you can turn around your car, so you head out into the street, rather than backing out. I'm quite fussy about busy locations, and I had absolutely no complaints. We have stayed in several places in Napa, and this is at the top of our list for return visits. 04 November 2014 - 23:14:21

A sweet, clean and comfortable little cottage! It was just what we needed after a very stressful year. We loved being able to make our morning walks down the street for our favorite coffee and dinner each evening after visiting our favorite wineries. We have stayed at other homes in the same neighborhood through the last 5+ years and did not want to return to those rentals, but you don't want to miss this one -- super clean (which is hard to find), quality furnishings and lovely outdoor space. We knew when we first walked in the door, this house has been loved and cared for -- we will be back soon!!! 23 April 2015 - 02:02:15

We all love the house. It was well appointed and very clean. The decorations were charming and the beds were comfortable. The only small complaint we have is that the house had extremely high humidity. I think the humidity originates the basement as my clothes that I left on the floor were damp in the morning. Still loved it though! 17 November 2015 - 17:32:04

A lovely house, cared for with love and respect - beautifully built, with historical touches that remind us how details help enhance the whole. We love staying here, and will continue to plan our trips to Napa around the availability of this marvelous home. The beds are comfortable, as is the whole house - it definitely feels like a lovely oasis within the city of Napa. 31 October 2017 - 01:38:00

It was a bit disappointing in all honesty. We visit the Valley every couple of months and have stayed in oodles of vacation rentals. This house is in a perfect location, close to downtown Napa and within walking distance of our favorite tasting room PureCru - but it's missing all of the thoughtfulness that goes into the convenience of renting a house. We traveled with friends who came from the east coast and we're from MN. We stayed for a long weekend and were attending some events. Typically we eat some meals out, but like the convenience of having a kitchen so that we can cook in. This house had NOTHING that we are used to. Most often the homes that have at least some basics in the kitchen and we're used to the pay it forwards. If you buy things like butter, olive oil, etc. and don't use it all, you leave it for the next guest. Same with basics of condiments, especially at least SALT & PEPPER! The shakers were literally empty. Yes, there were a few packets that someone left behind from fast food, but seriously. There was a couple of coffee filters, but no coffee. There was only two rolls of toilet paper - for four adults, a Thurs. through Sun. - fortunately, we didn't run out because we were away from the house a lot. The old house has a basement and smelled musty as soon as we entered. There were no rugs in the entry or kitchen and it was a rainy weekend. The beds were comfortable but the towels smelled musty when you dried off from a shower. Ish. There were robes in the closets, which we didn't touch, but they could skip that and invest in the kitchen goods. No water filter, no bottled water, notta. The biggest problem for us was the Internet. We conduct work and fast speed is a must. We were able to log on right away, but the actual Internet service was sporadic and slow as heck. We even tried resetting the router, to no avail. There were two monitors set up as televisions in the bedrooms, but no batteries in the remotes. There is not a television in the main sitting room, which was a problem for one of our sports fan guests. There were DVD's sitting around in that room, which seemed odd. The lighting is poor throughout and the outlets in the bedrooms are old so the hairdryers etc. that we tried to plug in kept falling off the wall. The owners should invest in power strips for the guests. Anyways, there are way better options out there. Look around at reviews. It's important. ~Disappointed four. 15 November 2017 - 18:53:00
