About listing

We are making Paris feel like home, one guest at a time... Why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can have all the comforts of home for less? Charming, historic one bedroom apartment that has recently been completely renovated with love and care. Traditional Parisian stone-faced building dating from the 1920's with fireplaces in both the living room and bedroom. The apartment is located on the 1st floor (European), one short flight up. There is no elevator, but the one flight of stairs is generally manageable for those with slightly restricted mobility. We are minutes away from the famous rue Daguerre, a typical market street packed with fresh fruit and vegetable stands, butchers, chocolate shops, restaurants, flower shops and bakeries. The local market takes place on Tuesday and Friday mornings. Lots of guidebooks and local information are at your disposal during your stay. Some ideas for your stay: Our ideal day starts with a stop at our favorite local bakery for some warm pains au chocolat. We then head over to one the local markets to check out the fresh offers for the day. The afternoon is spent exploring one of the numerous close by attractions, Jardin du Luxembourg, Notre Dame, Opera, or the Catacombs or a visit to one of Paris' wonderful museums: Musee D'Orsay, the Pompidou Centre, or the Musee Carnavalet. In the evening enjoy some of the best and most affordable French restaurants the city has to offer or pop out to see an opera or a concert in one of Paris' many exceptional venues. Truly your home away from home in Paris with all amenities included: Fully equipped kitchen, Internet access with WiFi, Cable TV, Electric kettle, hairdryer, telephone, stereo with CD player, etc. The apartment even offers a full library of both French and English books, including numerous guidebooks to the city and novels to unwind with at the end of the day. Just steps to the Metro (Lines four and six) and the RER-B. Excellent direct access for Charles de Gaulle (Roissy) and Orly airports. Keywords: Apartment

The Chez Pierre is conveniently located to the metro, shops, cafes, bakeries and markets. The apartment was neat, clean, comfortable and lovingly cared for. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware which allowed us to prepare some of our meals at the apartment. It was truly our home away from home the week we were there. You should have no reservations about booking your stay in Paris at the Chez Pierre. 26 September 2013 - 13:05:49

This is a lovely, comfortable apartment, not the typical barely furnished rental unit. It's like staying in a friend's well-kept home. Conveniently located near a metro stop that takes you right into the center of Paris or Charles de Gaulle. Everything you would want shopping-wise is very close by: markets, groceries, Monoprix, bakeries, restos. The owners are very easy to work with and make sure all is in proper working order for your stay. Bed is comfortable, bathroom and kitchen spotless and well-appointed. Living room has a big, comfortable sofa and large dining table. A comfortable living area where you can relax with friends and watch TV is hard to find in a Paris rental, in my experience, and this one has it. A very nice property in a pleasant, safe-feeling neighborhood. Highly recommended. 27 October 2013 - 02:18:11

My family and I spent a wonderful 2 weeks in Tara and Pierre's most comfortable and charming apartment. Unit was very clean and well maintained. Best of all is the location. Two Metro Stations nearby which also provide quick, easy and inexpensive access to the airports as well all the wonderful sights that Paris has to offer. For visitors who like to walk, Notre Dame is a 25min stroll away! Be sure to explore the Catacombs located near the Denfert-Rochereau Metro. You will be amazed when 90 mins later you emerge at street level and find yourself 200 ft from the door of your apartment and as it was raining we ran back home for a quick cup of tea! Excellent fish, meat, fruit and veg markets and supermarket around the corner for visitors who wish to cook in the fully equipped kitchen. Near-by streets lined with restaurants and coffee houses. I highly recommend a new Thai Restaurant recently opened 2 blocks away, details of which I noted in Tara's visitor's book. If you wish to enjoy a quiet, relaxing neighborhood vacation experience within minutes of all the excitement of Paris, Chez Pierre is the place to stay. Property owner Tara will go out of her way to make your vacation experience the very best. I have no reservation in recommending this property to friends and family. 12 February 2014 - 21:40:45

My wife and I spent 1 week in Paris at Chez Pierre and had a great time. The apartment is very comfortable for 2 people and conveniently located near metro stops. Our plan was to visit local shops and cook for ourselves most of the time. The apartment was perfect for our purposes. It is located close to several bakeries, fish markets, cheese shops and butcheries. While the area was often bustling during the day, it was always quiet at night. It was an easy ride into the city to visit monuments, parks, and museums. 31 March 2014 - 17:36:01

Everything about "Chez Pierre" makes it an excellent choice as a place to stay in Paris for a couple or a single person: it's quiet, clean and very pleasant, but I would recommend it in particular for the area of Paris that it's in. Everything you could possibly need is close at hand -- restaurants, groceries, specialty food stores, some great bakers. Not only that, but it's on a number of different bus lines, as well as on the metro line that traverses Paris from south to north -- all of which makes it very easy to get around the city. The owners were very helpful during my stay of one month, and I certainly plan to stay at "Chez Pierre" again. 02 April 2014 - 13:04:10

We stayed for 6 nights Chez Pierre and found this apartment to be lovely, very comfortable, and exceptionally well equipped. While not in the middle of tourist Paris, it is near three metro stops and good bus connections. Outstanding patisserie (Dominique Saibron) and very good cheese, produce, and butcher nearby. Owners very responsive to our needs, although not on site. On site housekeeper helpful when needed. 29 May 2014 - 10:46:14

We stayed in the apartment for a month and this was our second visit to the apartment so arriving there was like coming home. Because we were so familiar with the apartment and the local area we felt so much more confident to explore wherever the mood took us. We ticked off a few 'tourist' things which we hadn't done before, for instance the Tour Montparnasse (great views of Paris) and the Catacombs. I had booked a tour with 'localers' ubecause I knew about the huge queues for the Catacombs. It was wonderful to have a local guide and to be able to go straight in, avoiding that 2-3 hour wait. What a fascinating place. We managed to visit many of the small musees which had eluded us last time and so discovered some hitherto unknown artists and sculptors. The bus services in Paris were wonderful and so easy to get from the 14th to anywhere we wanted thanks to the great transfer system. We much prefer buses to metro as you see so much more. Many times we found we noticed something along the bus route and went back next day for a closer look. We did a couple of train trips - one to Strasbourg and one to Rouen. Each time it was great to come 'home' to the apartment. This time around we ate out on alternate days - cooking the evening meal at home every other day. The local butcher, fromagerie and fruit and vegetable store were well patronised and we tested most of the local patisseries for 'dessert treats' on the evenings we cooked in. The little local marche mouton duvernet was wonderful as was the visit to the butcher Hugo Desnoyer on rue Boulard. His meat was exquisite and the whole experience a joy as he discussed what I might want to do with the meat and his recommendations. We managed to walk the Promenade Plantee - well half of it anyway - which does not rival the Highline in New York but is nevertheless a pleasant way to see a different view of Paris. As always the apartment was comfortable and everything we could possibly want in a pied-a-terre in Paris. Thank you so much Tara and Pierre Olivier for sharing it with us. 29 July 2014 - 18:34:35

My wife and I spent September 2014 at Chez Pierre. This was our second stay in this wonderful apartment. It was just as great as the first time. We spend a month in Paris every two years since my wife was born in France and has relatives in the Paris and Normandy regions. This is one of our favorite apartments. We prefer staying in "real" neighborhoods of Paris rather than in the central tourist areas. Even though this apartment is not in the center of tourist attractions, it has easy access to everything in the City of Light. Metro Line 4 is a few steps away with easy access to many areas of the City but, for us, the availability of bus lines is what counts since we prefer to see where we are going. The buses are easy to navigate once you are used to them. The 28, 38, 68, and 62 lines are all nearby with access to many parts of the City without making a transfer. The buses may be slower but they are like your own Hop-on-Hop Off at a fraction of the cost. We love watching Paris go by our bus window! The other advantage of this apartment is access of shopping. Within a few steps of the apartment are markets, butcher, cheese shop, fish market, vegetable store, bakeries, etc. The Rue Daguerre is close - one of the famous Paris Shopping Streets. There are many Outlet Stores in the neighborhood around Alesia if you are tempted by bargains. Tara and Pierre-Olivier are wonderful "landlords" - very helpful before, during, and after the stay. We highly recommend this apartment. 10 October 2014 - 15:22:29
  9. Four Best Friends from Brooklyn, NY..USA
What a wonderful 8 days we enjoyed in Paris. We are 4 best girlfriends~~ we started grammar school in Brooklyn, NY together many years ago. It was the first time visiting Paris for 3 of us. Staying at "Chez Pierre" was a wonderful asset to our trip. It was like a touch of home! How sweet to be able to enjoy a French breakfast together at our leisure before beginning each day's adventure and then, to come home and be able to recap our days in cozy comfort! The property owners were so helpful in making our dreams come true.. They made many suggestions and recommended 2 special restaurants that were fabulous. La Regalade and Les Petite Sorcieres.... Another highlight was having lunch at Le Deli-Cieux @ The Top of Printemps....You could see all of Paris while enjoying a glass of wine. Printemps windows were decorated beautifully for Christmas. One of our friends had been to Paris several times and stayed in hotels. She quotes that "staying at Chez Pierre was a much more pleasant experience". It was wonderful to be able to use the Internet and the telephone, we had room for everything and comfortable beds. The apartment is a short walk to the metro and buses. We used public transportation all the time. Across the street was a large supermarket (Monoprix) where you could get food, wine, clothes as well as a bakery. The Rue de Guerre was only a few blocks away and offered many food delicacies. Thank you for making this trip to Paris a most memorable trip of our life! We would highly recommend "Chez Pierre" to all. 03 December 2014 - 15:19:42

My husband and I stayed at Chez Pierre for the whole of Oct 2014. We loved every minute of our stay, the apartment was so comfortable and welcoming to come home to each day, it really made our time in Paris special. Location couldn't have been better with the local food markets a joy to visit and buy daily supplies from. As we have been to Paris many times before we wanted to use this trip to explore the local area. However, those new to the city will find that all the main sights of Paris are easily accessible by foot (or Metro if preferred) from the apartment. Thank you and we will definitely be returning to this wonderful apartment and area of Paris. Julie and Bruce M 07 December 2014 - 13:26:19

My wife and I, both 60, recently returned from our first trip to Paris. We selected Chez Pierre based on the reviews, and we were absolutely thrilled with it. The apartment is comfortable and cozy and staying there offers the feel of being a native Parisian. The local restaurants are excellent (Les fils de la ferme is a must), there are plenty of stores and markets if you prefer to eat in - and most of the important, not-to-be-missed Paris sights are a quick metro ride away (on a nice day, you can even walk). The neighbourhood is busy and has a vital feel, although it is by no means noisy or stressful. For us, it was a spectacular trip, filled with activity, but Chez Pierre allowed us the added bonus of feeling less like tourists and more like we truly belonged. We'd go back in a flash. 27 May 2015 - 20:34:57

Chez Pierre is extremely convenient to everything you need during your stay: train from airport, metro station, all the shops one could need, markets, etc. Double windows are a plus on the street side to block the noise. Tara and Pierre are very responsive to all your questions. They responded immediately every time we contacted them. 07 June 2015 - 13:13:29

Great location! A bit out of the city center but in a great neighborhood. So close to the metro and the bus. You get to watch real Parisians doing everyday life. From the kitchen you can see the main avenue with all the hustle and bustle. All the necessary stores were a block or 2 away. The apartment could not be any nicer. It was so comfortable and the amenities were all tip top. We stayed for 3 weeks and would do it all over again. Only one flight of stairs to reach the apt. Pierre and Tara were wonderful to work with. 10 June 2015 - 20:04:18

I spent almost 10 weeks in Chez Pierre and it was the most wonderful experience! I have been to Paris many times in many different types of hotel accommodations, but this was the best! Montparnasse is a real neighborhood and the apartment perfect! It was roomy (truly!) We were 1, 2, 3 people at different times and were more than comfortable...all amenities were perfect and plenty, the stores, the buses, the metro, restaurants, all within walking distance and the location was perfect for getting to wherever I wanted to go! It was safe, friendly (should have brushed up more on my French, but not a big problem) and so many accessible services close by...hair, nails, cleaners, pharmacy etc.! Tara & Pierre were great to work with and accessible by email or phone...the information books in the apt covered all and the book shelves were loaded with reading material and sight seeing information. One flight up a charming staircase, an inner courtyard so Parisian that I would not want to stay any where else in Paris! Voila' et superb! 13 October 2015 - 11:50:32

While visiting Paris my wife and I have typically stayed in hotels closer to more traditional tourist locations. This gem of an apartment is tucked in a quaint Parisian neighborhood that will allow you to walk just a few blocks in any direction to let you experience Paris. There are street markets, wine stores, and many fantastic dining options all within an easy walk. There is a metro stop a block away that will allow you to get to any part of Paris safely, efficiently, and inexpensively. Paris has so many wonderful things to offer and The stay at the apartment only enhanced our trip. Bon voyage. 23 February 2016 - 17:28:25

The location of Chez Pierre is perfect. In the neighborhood itself, we had fantastic meals and convenient access to the Metro (and Metro is by far the best way to explore Paris). We were always happy to get away from the crowded tourist areas to come back home, which typically took around 15 minutes. The apartment itself is cozy, well-furnished and has all the conveniences needed, especially in terms of a nice kitchen and a washing machine. We would highly recommend a stay at Chez Pierre!!!! 24 February 2016 - 05:18:40

The apartment is well located close to everything. The bus and metro are a short walk away. Wonderful shopping for everything you need right around the corner. The apartment is located in a beautiful building and you will fell like a true "Parisienne" when you return home each day! The apartment is perfect for two, well equipped and a comfortable bed. We have already recommended it to our friends who live around the corner for any of their overflow guests. We hope to return again to Chez Pierre. 10 April 2016 - 12:31:17

We stayed in this excellent apartment for five nights during February, 2017 and were very happy with the accommodations, especially the well-equipped kitchen, which is quite suitable for the preparation of light meals based on the superbly fresh food available in nearby outdoor markets. The living-dining room area provided plenty of space eating, reading, etc. The spacious bedroom was quite to our liking, as was the excellent library it contained (many travel books, history books, and thrillers in English). The bathroom was large by French standards with plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. Towels were provided in magnificent abundance. Even though the apartment is located on the first (US second) floor, there was never intrusive noise from the street. Indeed the first-floor location became more-and-more appreciated as the days wore on, reducing our stair-climbing requirement. I should add that Tara and Pierre, the owners, are extremely helpful and accommodating. 05 March 2017 - 17:38:00

This lovely apartment was a great place for my mom and me as we explored Paris for five days. It is conveniently located in a quiet, residential neighborhood close to the metro and lots of great restaurants. There's a grocery store across the street and a great bakery just down the street. The location allowed us to experience the city as a local. We appreciated that the apartment was on the first floor, had comfortable beds, a dining table where we ate a number of meals, a computer with reliable internet access, and everything else we could have needed (fully equipped kitchen, hair dryer, etc). Tara was incredibly helpful, and very responsive. We appreciated being able to share their home, and would happily return! 31 May 2017 - 08:34:00

I stayed in Tara & Pierre-Olivier's apartment for a month & I can't recommend it highly enough. It's comfortable, quiet, very well outfitted, & seems larger than in the photos. It's clearly a beloved home. There's plenty of storage space so that you can unpack completely & really settle in. I appreciated the well-equipped kitchen (especially the oven), & I cooked & baked often. The long dining table was perfect for eating & working, & the wifi was flawless. I felt completely at home, & also very safe, which was important to me as a woman traveling alone. The building is quite lovely & well maintained, with pretty stained glass windows in the stairwells. Check-in was smooth & easy despite the fact that my arrival was delayed for several hours due to a cancelled flight. The neighborhood is lively, low-key, & super-convenient. There is a wealth of good food shopping nearby, including a very nice twice-weekly market near the mairie. There are also many, many restaurants & cafes in the neighborhood. The area has a good local feel, with very few tourists. Metro & bus stops are very close, as is public transportation to the airports. It was an easy walk with a rolling suitcase to the RER B to CDG at Denfert-Rochereau (easier than all the stairs when transferring from the metro). I often went to Parc Montsouris, a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. Thank you, Tara & Pierre-Olivier, for sharing your lovely home. I would love to stay here again! 05 May 2017 - 15:13:00
