About listing

A large, private, three bedroom, two bath, house with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. Each bedroom is luxuriously appointed. The living room and dining area have a truly incredible six window view of the Pacific with white water waves crashing over exposed rocks. The house has a fireplace and two wood stoves, a well equipped kitchen and a large deck for enjoying the sunset. In addition to the three bedrooms is a cozy loft and quiet areas to read and relax. You'll be a five minute walk to lovely Agate Beach, part of the Duxbury Reef Preserve. There you will find access to the Pacific Ocean, a quiet beach area and tide pools perfect for nature explorers of all ages. Nearby is also Bolinas Beach, a great place to play in the sand or take a surfing lesson from the Bolinas Surf School. A short drive by car is Stinson Beach and Point Reyes. Close at hand are some incredible walks along the coast, including some trails into the southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore. During your stay you can also explore historic Bolinas. Founded in the 1850's, Bolinas has long served as a weekend getaway for San Franciscans, though in earlier times they would arrive by boat. Bolinas remains a great retreat and maintains a local culture shaped by the 1960's counter-culture movement. Keywords: House Beach Bolinas Pacific

The house worked perfectly for our vacation with three adults and our two college students. First, the house ... exceeded my expectations being well kept and very comfortable. The handling of the rental went very smoothly. There was more than enough room for us all to gather together or for us all to find our own quiet spots. The master suite was very private, large, with its own sitting area and had it's own spectacular view. The wifi worked flawlessly. On the view ... the view and sound of the ocean waves were truly special. I was surprised how undisturbed the view was from neighboring properties helped in part by being on the hillside and landscaping in the area. It was a short walk (couple minutes) to some cliffs or down to the beach with tide pools. We would definitely select this property again and do not hesitate to recommend it as one of the most awesome places we've stayed. Typical for each of our five days was a relaxing morning, a short excursion (bird observatory, oyster farm, drive to scenic site, cheese, etc etc) and a hike at Pt. Reyes. Often, on the way back, we'd stop at the 24-hr honor-system (only in Bolinas!) farm stand for fresh eggs and produce. The kitchen in the house was perfect for creating a fresh gourmet meal. A different bottle of Sean Thackrey wine (made in Bolinas) capped off each day. We are unable to report on televisions in the home as I don't think we ever turned them on. In short, we had a great time enjoying all the natural splendor of the area and then went back to a great rental house that really added and enhanced our vacation experience. 02 September 2013 - 14:52:27

Our family of five spent Thanksgiving weekend at Bolinas House. We had never been to Bolinas or that part of California before so we took a chance. It could not have been more perfect. Bolinas is a funky little hamlet that is stuck in the 1970s. Enchanting. The house was warm, snug with a magnificent view of the ocean. It is close to a beachfront access and to multiple overlooks out to the great Pacific. We watched the sun set every night from the deck or a close-by overlook. We walked to the beach multiple times and went tidepooling at low tide - anemones, nudibranchs, starfish, snails all within five minutes of the house. The kitchen was well stocked - no problem cooking Thanksgiving dinner and many more good breakfasts and dinners. The beds were very comfortable - even the sleeping loft. The wi-fi worked very well. We did not have cell coverage for either ATT or Verizon - I considered that a real bonus. My brother did use Skype for an important business call and it worked well. This is a special house in a special part of the world. 07 December 2013 - 21:35:52

My friends and I spend a beautiful weekend at your house. Very comfortable in the evenings in the big living room with the ocean views. The morning sunshine on the deck felt great. Thanks for a great getaway. 25 February 2015 - 17:46:19

Fantastic views, and some nice flat lawn in the back that is perfect for outdoor games. We appreciated the quality of the kitchenware, the ample firewood, and many other nice touches that made our stay that much more enjoyable and trouble-free. 02 June 2015 - 16:30:52

We only stayed for two nights but wished we had time to stay longer. The location was just perfect. It felt very remote but was close to the cute little town center of Bolinas. And the views are even better than on the pictures :) We walked to Agate beach and the kids had a lot of fun exploring the tide pools, then we cooked vegetables we got from the little honor-system farm stand outside of Bolinas. What a treat. The kitchen was well equipped to cook nice meals and the house itself was just very comfortable. The wood fireplace was such a nice addition. So was the little loft! Our kids would sit up there reading books most of the time, saying: its so cozy! The property owner was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We will definitely be back! 29 October 2015 - 02:34:27

My family has stayed in this beautiful place for the past twelve years. It is surrounded on three sides by decking, with a large and comfortable area for outdoor dining. We love the woodstove in the upper level, living and dining rooms with huge windows and ocean views. The main level has a kitchen and long counter, a comfy sitting area with a fireplace, two bedrooms, full bath (tub/shower) and a loft, loved by the grandson since he could climb the ladder. The lower area is an independent suite, which we rent, with its own wood stove and full bath. The kitchen is well-furnished, sunny with skylights, and opens onto the deck. Ping pong in the basement. This house is in the quietest end of Bolinas, except for the lovely rhythm of the ocean breaking below. Agate Beach, a short five-minute walk, is the most amazing spectacle at low tide. You can follow the beach either into town, Brighton Beach, or north toward RCA Beach. Both are good hikes, two to three miles. After twelve years, we still have not hiked all the trails in Point Reyes National Park! Bolinas House is not a chi-chi Architecture Digest place. The furniture is upholstered, tasteful and functional; nice carpeting and flooring, good beds. It is inviting and comfortable, marvelous, even, because of its beauty of setting. Heather is a terrific owner, and very responsive to any suggestion we make. This family loves the house and are grateful to have it available. 20 April 2017 - 20:47:00

The house is fully equipped with everything you need. The view is breathtaking! You can sit on the deck or in living area and watch the beautiful sunsets! The large dining table and the well equipped kitchen are perfect for enjoying meals together. We would stay here again if we make it back to lovey Bolinas ! 15 October 2017 - 20:02:00

The house was so welcoming in the stormy weather. A beacon on a high hill. The view is stunning. We were just as happy to sit in the house and admire the view as we were eager to walk the bluffs and beaches. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. The management was available by phone for questions and made our stay easy in every way. A real gem on the coast. 26 November 2016 - 18:29:29

We stayed at Bolinas House in May. It was a great secluded location with Pacific Ocean in view. The living room has large windows for wonderful views while relaxing or eating. Great patio/deck space. There was more than enough space for 6 which included 2 young children. You can go on many walks and jogs through Bolinas including to the downtown area and beach. The home is well equipped for cooking and grilling. We stopped by a local farmers market on the road into town, it was wonderful. There were accommodations for an infant/toddler. We would love to stay here again! 25 May 2017 - 18:43:00

The view from the place is amazing and the house has just the right vibe for a Bolinas beach pad. Beds were firm and comfortable. 05 January 2017 - 03:32:10

We loved our stay in this beautiful Bolinas beach house. The views are amazing, and we walked to the beach every day. We also spent time in town and surfed "the Patch". The kitchen was fully equipped for a birthday dinner, and the house had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay here again. It was perfect. Thanks! 27 November 2017 - 23:31:00

Bolinas is our far-from-it-all-yet-SF-is-right-over-there getaway place. A new friend who joined us said, "I just want to cry every time I walk into the living room" - because the breathtaking views and down-home comfort of the house make you never want to do anything but look at the view, drink coffee, or maybe take a walk. We saw tons of wildlife including deer, fox, ravens, even a dead whale up the beach. It was all too short. We'll be back. Thanks, Rosnow family! 19 November 2017 - 16:23:00

We love the house! It has a magnificent ocean view just as promised. Deers came to visit often in the backyard. A short walk to Agate beach where we rescued a stingray from the shallow tide pool! Back to the house, it has a great layout where the kids could fully enjoy their games while daddy took a conference call without any background noise. The beds were firm and very comfortable. There were pretty of board games provided by the host, and the ping-pong table was certainly a plus. Kitchen was also fully equipped. We had a great time in this house. We would highly recommend it to anyone without hesitation. 27 December 2017 - 16:05:00

We very much appreciated the entire house experience from booking to stay: thoroughness, vibe, layout and amenities. For us as Nor Cal residents, this house represented exactly what an escape from San Francisco / the East Bay should be. 02 January 2018 - 16:46:00

We love the house! It had a magnificent ocean view just as promised. Deers came to visit often in the backyard. We took short walks to Agate beach daily, and we had an incredible experience including rescueing a stingray from the shallow tide pool! The house itself had a great layout for our family. The kids fully enjoyed their (loud) games while daddy took conference calls without any problem. Beds were firm and very comfortable. There were pretty of board games provided by the host, and the ping-pong table was certainly a plus. Kitchen was fully equipped. We had a great time in this house. We would highly recommend it to anyone without hesitation. 07 January 2018 - 19:04:00

The house was set up great for us, it had a separate downstairs with a private bath. The house overall is a little old, but sufficient for the area. The beds are super hard. The hot water heater does not keep up and could not take even to showers without it turning cold. It could have used a little better cleaning there were cobwebs everywhere. We went for the views and the area though so we're overall pleased. 29 October 2017 - 16:10:00
