About listing

Be assured that this property functions completely within the legal restrictions recently set in place by the Mayor of Paris for short term and vacation rentals. Enjoy this newly renovated and decorated one-bedroom apartment in one of Paris’s most sought out neighborhoods. Parisian artist, Françoise Dutourleau, has decided to open her home to guests after having renovated it to incorporate some of the same details found in only the best hotels. Opposed to staying in a hotel, you’ll have room to spread out and cook in the gourmet kitchen. The bathroom is new and spacious with both a shower and large tub as well as two sinks. Some nice amenities include two flat screen TVs, a CD player, excellent wifi throughout the apartment, hairdryer, washer/dryer and, a Nespresso coffee maker. We have a good assortment of books on Paris in the apartment to help you plan your visit. An added feature is free cable with movies of your choice and a telephone with free calls to the United States. A nice bottle of champagne will be chilling in the refrigerator to welcome you to Paris. The apartment is nestled on a quiet one-way street on the left bank. This is a real neighborhood with a generous assortment of restaurants, bakeries, boutiques, markets and bars within an easy strolling radius. The lively and colorful rue Mouffetard is about a ten minute walk where you can kick back and enjoy the bustle and join the locals dancing on Sunday mornings. Rue Mouffetard has buildings that date from the middle ages and it now hosts a colorful, daily fruit and vegetable market. The Jardin des Plantes, its museums and the Seine are both easily accessible by foot with the Jardin des Plantes being no more than a few minute walk. Also easily accessible is the Pantheon, Place Monge, Arène de Lutèce, the Sorbonne and Luxembourg Gardens. If you love to eat, there are a plethora of choices including a one star guide Michelin restaurant which is one of our favorites and is no more than two blocks away. In addition to the traditional bistros, local restaurants and bars, the neighborhood offers some excellent ethnic choices. If you get tired of dining out, the apartment offers dishes, pots, pans and silver so as to enable you to prepare a lovely dinner in Françoise's beautifully equipped kitchen. (Keep in mind that there are five bakeries, not including rue Mouffetard, so you should always be able to find fresh bread and goodies daily.) The apartment will be Françoise’s permanent residence in the near future. As a result, it is evident that much love went into the restoration with an attention to quality and aesthetics. Françoise’s goal is that those who choose her apartment will have a beautiful and welcoming place to stay. For example, you can count on a bottle of champagne to be waiting for you as well as some of her favorite wines! I will be meeting you at the apartment with keys to give you a tour of the apartment and to help answer any questions on getting settled into the neighborhood. More often than not I am only a phone call away.

Great location in a nice neighborhood with convenient grocery stores and bakeries nearby. Also close to several wonderful restaurants especially Agape. We were especially pleased with the attention to detail offered with this apartment and the amazing use of space. Very well equipped kitchen with appliances and kitchen ware. Very comfortably decorated with beautiful paintings by the apartment owner. This was a perfect setting for our trip to Paris. I would recommend this apartment to anyone and look forward to coming back and staying here again. 06 July 2015 - 02:44:58

Three of us stayed at this beautiful, renovated apartment with all the amenities we could ask for. The bed was very comfortable as well as the pull out sofa. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed to make wonderful meals, although with so many great restaurants around we didn't often eat in!! Walking distance to many great sites. Loui was great to work with and always easy to reach for questions or concerns. We would definitely stay here again. 10 July 2016 - 14:56:00

We stayed here for 5 nights, celebrating 25th wedding anniversary. It is a very nice, beautifully styled and remodeled apartment with everything you need to get settled. Loui met us there and had great suggestions for the area and Paris in general. She is a great hostess. It is a nice and convenient area, with walks through the Jardin de Plantes to River Siene. Recommend the crepe lady on the corner and morning market at Place d'Itale (has fresh produce, meats, cheese, etc). I gave it only 4 stars because they were painting the building, had scaffolding all around the exterior - busy workers made quite a bit of noise during the day which dampened the desire for a peaceful retreat and made patio unavailable. Recommend that you ask about this being completed. 25 September 2016 - 22:24:00

This is just a wonderful apartment. Real, king-sized bed! All amenities. Even a couple of bottles of wine to greet your stay. Around the corner from everything needed, as well as jardin des Plantes. Would stay again in a flash, as well as recommend to all. 07 June 2017 - 22:39:00

We had an amazing week at the artist's atelier. Francoise is a talented artist and her apartment has stunning aesthetic touches throughout. She left great coffee, wine, and snacks and we loved being near the Jardin des Plantes. We will definitely come back! 25 June 2017 - 16:36:00

We were extremely happy with the apartment, which had all we wanted. Everything was very clean, the bathroom is super nice and the kitchen was well stocked. The apartment is also easily accessible on the ground floor, though because of this we were not able to sleep with the windows open. We appreciated all the little thoughtful gifts from the owners, made us feel right at home in Paris. 17 July 2017 - 20:54:00

The apartment is exactly as described right down to the smallest detail. The location on the ground floor is quiet and convenient; you do not have to deal with an old elevator common to most Paris apartments. Loui is super helpful during your stay. I would stay here again. 31 October 2017 - 12:38:00

Perfectly located in a nice, relatively quiet neighborhood (no nighttime noise woke us up) with groceries & bakeries nearby, plus fun bars, restaurants (especially Cesar & Agape) & quick access to transportation. We were the first to stay there and enjoyed everything about the apartment. We marveled at the cleverness of storage, amazing use of space, and arty, clever lighting fixtures. With three of us staying there, one slept on the sofa bed, which was both comfortable and incredibly easy to open and close back up. It was great to be able to spread out and relax after a long day sightseeing. We had everything we needed right there. We plan to recommend this to friends who will be traveling there soon and hope to come back sometime ourselves. 23 April 2015 - 19:41:13

This apartment is perfect! It has anything and everything that you could need plus so much more. A perfectly modern apartment, in which the character and charm were amazingly preserved. Located in a perfect location, with several wonderful restaurants, bistros, and every other kind of shop you may need or want. The bakeries and cheese shops are wonderful, with delightful owners who will bear with you, even through very broken French. They had wonderful recommendations of cheeses to try! Location is perfect for a beautiful walk to Notre Dame that included a stroll through the Jardin des Plantes. Perfect apartment for two or even three people. The pull out bed is easy to operate and very comfortable. The owner and manager have gone out of their ways to make your stay amazing, including a bottle of champagne, wine and several other beverages upon arrival. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready for a chef, although we ate out every meal because we received so many good suggestions when we arrived. There is also a small private patio area, which enables you to open the door and front windows and the circulation is wonderful. This trip to Paris was with my mother, but this apartment would be perfect for a romantic get-a-way as well! It truly felt like a home away from home (but in PARIS!). I would recommend this apartment to anyone! 01 June 2015 - 20:58:08

We stayed here for our 40th anniversary, and it was superb. The apartment is lovely, very well equipped and ideally situated. The personal service and extra special touches were very much appreciated; so much better than a hotel. Great restaurants, butchers, bakeries and grocery stores all in close proximity. We would definitely stay there again. 27 August 2015 - 11:08:42

Every well thought detail is designed for comfort. Beyond basic staples for your stay, great local shops and vendors provide all that you need. Most important, all of your "where do I..." and "Whst do I..." questions answered in detail within a couple of hours. I am a frequent VRBO flyer and this property gets very high marks! 10 May 2017 - 03:28:00

Our second time in this beautiful apartment which never disappoints. From the gorgeous original artwork on the walls to the beautifully appointed kitchen-everything was perfect! Located near a bus stop and within walking distance of the Seine, restaurants, shopping, bakeries, and markets, it is the perfect spot for an enjoyable stay. Francoise and Loui are gracious and welcoming, and my husband and I look forward to our return!! 09 February 2017 - 03:57:49

This completely renovated, beautifully appointed apartment is a gem. The neighborhood is safe, great for sightseeing and people watching. Loui, the manager, lives close by and is very helpful, extremely knowledgeable of the area and will make you feel at home the minute you walk in the door. Wish I could live there year round! 29 December 2015 - 14:38:49

This apartment was everything we could have wanted, and more. It was so brilliantly decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The linens were fresh, and the attention to detail was amazing. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything necessary to cook any meal. Working with Loui was a dream. She was very helpful, from our first contact with her, to our departure. When I noticed that there wasn't any decaf coffee, she brought some over for us. We had another minor issue with something in the apartment, and she was there to take care of it, almost immediately. The apartment is in a lovely neighborhood that felt very safe to walk around any time day or night, which we often did as we came home late from dinner or sight-seeing. The goodies that were provided were so welcome, especially after a long flight. This was a wonderful place to stay. We would highly recommend it to friends and family, and would definitely stay there again. 26 October 2015 - 02:42:27

A lovely apartment, exceptionally well designed to make maximum use of space while being very comfortable. The intriguing and gorgeous paintings are due to Francoise and provide color and focal points. A separate living room allowed me to have guests in for drinks (and dinner, had I had time). Ample closet space. Near two metro stops, within walking distance of the Seine. An excellent cheese shop, an organic grocery, a hair dresser (Les coiffeurs Gaitan and Denis, just in case). There is a courtyard leading to the front door and a small private courtyard in back so that one can have a cross breeze. The apartment was very clean, the amenities were perfect. Loui and Francoise bring nespresso pods every week and a bottle of wine. They also provide the "starter" items for the ktichen --- salt, olive oil, and so on. I go to Paris most summers and this is really the best place that I've found! 28 February 2017 - 00:16:00

A beautiful and luxurious apartment with a central location convenient to metro, shopping, local flavor, bakery, market, and so much more. Manager Loui speaks English fluently and is a tremendous resource. A great way to visit Paris without being a tourist!!! 15 January 2016 - 22:07:05

This is a very nicely appointed renovated apartment in the heart of Paris. It is an ideal location from which to explore the left bank and the city of Paris in general. Quiet, close to good restaurants, patisseries, all shopping and the metro. Very clean with attention to detail. Comfortable bed and modern efficient kitchen with all appliances. Our charming hostess, Francoise, provided extras and gifts to make us feel welcome. Loui was very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Would definitely stay here again. 11 November 2016 - 09:50:56

Fabulous location. Apartment is very comfortable with all the usual amenities, and many many more. We loved the slippers! This was our second stay and we will be going back. 26 November 2017 - 16:26:00

The Apartment is very clean and well appointed. Loui is very welcoming and has a wealth of information to help enjoy Paris. However, a major painting project is in process and scaffolding completely surrounds the building and entrances. We were told to keep windows and outdoor shutters closed to keep dust out, making the apartment very dark. The outdoor patio is closed during the painting project. We were not told about this on-going project, so be sure to check before you reserve. 16 September 2016 - 08:04:00

This place truly is a GEM! We stayed a month and wanted to not only hit the big sites in Paris, but to experience a "taste" of what it would be like to live as a Parisian. In addition, as two single women, it was important to us that our apartment was in a safe neighborhood, a quiet building and on the ground floor (we couldn't imagine climbing up and down 6 flights of steps like we saw in many other rentals) This apartment delivered on all counts, PLUS we were blown away by the "above and beyond touches" from the owner and the caretaker that made this a truly unique "feel like a local" experience. First, the location: While the bus stop is on the same street, we loved using the metro (there are several metro hubs within a few blocks) This allowed us to get to any of the tourists sites throughout the city quickly and easily. Now the bonus: Literally one block from the apartment are the most charming neighborhood shops where most of the employees speak some English and all were very friendly and helpful. Our favorites: the cheese shop, the delicious artisan bakery, the butcher shop (you must try his fresh rotisserie chicken-but order the day before), the Italian men who have a fruit/vegetable shop and, across from the Jardin des Plantes, the "les crepes du jardin" corner creperie stand (delish! and only a few euros) Next, the apartment. It's updated, spotless and "chic modern" showcasing the owner's original artwork. We enjoyed the quiet building, free wifi, access to the outdoors/fresh air via the quaint patio, a view of courtyard gardens, very comfy bed, and a stocked bookshelf. Don't worry-the bath amenities are all updated and modern/easy to use. Since we were here for a month, we used the kitchen and found that it had anything we needed when preparing a meal. We LOVED the easy-to-use Nespresso coffee machine and the electric kettle. Finally, the owner & caretaker: Thoughtful touches from Francois (the owner/host) made our stay above-and-beyond what any luxury hotel room could have done (ex: we were delighted to find little treats such as a bottle of champagne, wine, beverages, or chocolates refreshed for us throughout our month-long stay) Loui, the caretaker, is an awesome resource; she answered all our questions and provided us lots of invaluable tips throughout our visit. We also enjoyed reading Loui's book, Parisian Postcards, and learning of some off-the-beaten path places to visit in Paris. This place truly is a GEM in Paris! 11 December 2017 - 23:51:00
