About listing

If you enjoy art, music and literature you will appreciate our 65 sq meter (700 sq feet) apartment that’s been designed by a talented French architect. Full of books, CD's and DVD's, it’s a home away from home. On the fourth floor with elevator, it has an independent entrance in our duplex, providing complete privacy along with the advantage of having us near for any information you might need. Marvelously situated between the Bastille and the Place de la République and just around the corner from the historical Cirque d’Hiver, the apartment is on the edge of the fashionable Haut Marais area which is full of art galleries, exclusive clothing stores and specialty food shops as well as a colorful covered market. You can walk to the Pompidou Center and the Place de Vosges within fifteen minutes, and many of Paris’s famous attractions such as the Louvre or Notre Dame are at a convenient distance whether on foot or by using public transportation. Three metro and 3 bus lines are near the apartment, making it incredibly convenient for visiting Paris. As well, the major train stations are easily reached from here. The apartment consists of an open kitchen/living area, a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a library-study in which a sofa can open to a very comfortable full bed, and a bathroom with a shower. There’s everything necessary for a perfect stay in Paris: a well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, induction cook-top, microwave, oven, and refrigerator; large flat-screen television and DVD player; radio-CD player with an excellent sound system; telephone; wireless internet; washer-dryer). Detergent, paper products and staples such as tea and coffee, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, and sugar are provided so you aren’t obliged to do a major shopping just to settle in. Rental fee includes linens and towels, and cleaning at the end of your stay. For 3 persons, the price is 210€ a night.

  1. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this apartment. It is attractive and well furnished with everything we needed for the week. We like a place to stay where we can get a few groceries and have a light breakfast and cup of coffee before heading out for the day, and this was perfect for that. Marsha couldn't be nicer or more welcoming and provides lots of helpful information from where to find a nearby grocery store to how to work the appliances. She even provides some restaurant recommendations where we found some of the best meals we had all week. It is conveniently located near two metro stops which makes getting anywhere easy. It is on the fourth floor, but there is an elevator. The elevator is tiny, but does the trick. A benefit of being up off the street level is that it is very quiet. Between the quiet and great bed, we slept very well. We enjoyed feeling a bit more immersed in a local neighborhood, rather than in a hotel with nothing but other tourists. On a side note, a friend recommended we get a Paris Passlib' pass from the visitors bureau that provide access to all the big attractions and the metro for a set price. It allowed us to skip the lines at every attraction and we highly recommend it. Here's a link: http://en.parisinfo.com/what-to-see-in-paris/paris-pass/paris-passlib 25 October 2016 - 18:14:00

My husband, 16-year-old son and I came to Paris for a week long stay at the end of January. . Comfortable, snazzy, and in the perfect spot, the apartment quickly became our home base. The woman who owns the apartment is a most gracious hostess: we enjoyed every interaction with her! We'll come back for sure. Highly recommended! 15 February 2017 - 19:46:00

My husband, adult daughter and I found these accommodations spacious, comfortable and convenient, as well as beautifully decorated. Marsha has clearly thought about and provided everything necessary for a great stay. And we loved her neighborhood. Each one of us would book this apartment again when we next visit Paris. 28 May 2017 - 08:02:00

Close to Metro. Lovely landlady very helpful. Instructions for everything written down in English. She even arranged English speaking taxi to take us to airport when we left! 11 June 2017 - 15:22:00

We stayed at this apartment in late June. It is perfect for 3-4 people with 2 bedrooms and an open floor plan. Marsha, the owner, lives just upstairs and is avaialable to help with whatever you need. The apartment is in a great location, near lots of restaurants, grocery stores, subway station, which made visiting Paris very enjoyable! The neighborhood is quiet in the evening, but the bedroom windows both face a busy street so you can't leave windows open in the evening, only downside. Wouldn't be an issue other then summer time. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this apartment! 06 July 2017 - 01:32:00

Lovely apartment. Very light and airy. Great decor, amenities and location. We spent five days here before a wedding south of Paris with our 21-year-old son. Marsha was extremely helpful and kind. We love this area of Paris and walked thousands of steps throughout our stay, Would recommend and book again. 08 July 2017 - 19:16:00

Our five days stay in this awesome apartment surpassed our wildest dreams. This place is not an impersonal apartment in Paris, it's a real Parisian apartment! Spacy, clean, with a perfect mixture of classy and modern interior design, a very well-equiped kitchen. It's comforting and cosy and to our great delight we were able to nourish our souls with an ocean of books on art, design, philosophy and so on. But well... we had to go out and visit the city too, of course. The location is great. An ideal operating base. All the important shops are nearby. Right at the front door, we started our walks into the Marais, that centuries-old area that houses a great variety of museums, galeries, restaurants, historic scenery. The subway was almost at our doorstep and brought us in fifteen minutes to the rest of the city center. What (more) can I say? Five days in a five stars Parisian home. We will be back!!! The photo's shown accurately reflect the charm of this sweet apartment. It is clean and has a well equipted kitchen and library. The beds are comfortable. Most important, the owner really cares about meeting expectations. She helped with everything we wanted; even personally taking me to the grocery store and shops on our first day. The metro is just steps away and it is a nice walk to the 4th district. We loved our time in Paris and would highly recommend this apartment. 05 January 2013 - 14:38:43

My husband and I spent a week in Paris, and Marsha's charming apartment could not have been more perfect for our stay. It was our first time in Paris and we didn't know what to expect, but we immediately felt at home. The apartment was impeccably clean, comfortably furnished, and just the right size. The neighborhood is located so that nothing was too far away. We used the nearby Oberkampf and Filles du Calvaire metro stations, as well as just walking. The metro is a 2-minutes walk, the Monoprix grocery store 5, and many nice restaurants in the Marias neighborhood within 10 minutes. Ile Saint-Louis is 5 minutes across the Siene, and Notre Dame another 6 or 7...but the apartment is not in a "touristy" neighborhood. The apartment had everything we needed, from condiments, bedding and cooking implements, to location and ambiance. We enjoyed the charm and character of a building from an earlier generation, and Marsha was very helpful and concerned about our stay being enjoyable. She made herself available to answer questions, provide restaurant recommendations, and even guided us to a local caf our first day and helped us order! Everything associated with our stay here is a wonderful memory. We would whole heartedly recommend this property to family and friends - in fact, we have done so several times since returning from Paris. Thank you, Marsha! 21 January 2013 - 21:55:24

How lovely to walk into this apartment from busy Paris streets and see the cool clean lines of a space tastefully and artistically decorated, an ideal space for a one or two couples. The neighborhood is interesting and comfortable to walk in, close to the Marais [our favorite part of Paris], with easy access to the Metro [Republique, Oberkampf, Filles du Calvaire]. A modern and well-equipped kitchen and bath, comfortable beds and fine linens, an interesting library in the den, a view of the street and neighborhood rooftops all combine to make this a superb place to stay. The owner was welcoming, helpful in so many ways, and extremely easy to deal with. She lives above the apartment should any problems arise (unlikely!). We rented the apartment for several days in April and again later in May. We highly recommend it and hope to stay here the next time we are in Paris. 27 July 2013 - 20:00:25

We spent a wonderful two weeks in this lovely apartment, and would go back in a heartbeat. The apartment is beautiful, stylish, comfortable, quiet, spotless, and perfectly functional. There was a hip selection of books, CDs, and DVDs if you need additional entertainment, a TV, washer/dryer--everything you could want. The owners live in an apartment upstairs and were always available for help or advice, but their proximity never impacted the coziness or privacy of the apartment. The location is perfect--everything you need is nearby. It's a quick walk down to the Bastille market, a must for stocking the refrigerator in the great kitchen. Great bakeries and epiceries, along with nearby organic food shops kept us well-stocked. We made great use of the kitchen, eating breakfast and dinner in the apartment nearly every day, which added to the feeling of actually LIVING in Paris. The Metro is nearby, as is the upper Marais with all of its hip shops, restaurants, and bars. The apartment was a spectacular Parisian homebase that truly felt like home after only a couple days. We definitely hope to return. 30 March 2014 - 18:13:56

We spent 6 fabulous days in Paris and the location of this apartment couldn't have been better. From our original contact with Marsha to the final day of our stay, she was fantastic. My wife and sister-in-law arrived by Eurostar from London and I flew into Charles de Gaulle. The apartment is a 10 minute cab ride (8-10 euros) or a 15 minute Metro ride from Gare du Nord. From Charles de Gaulle, it's about an hour using the RER B line. The location of the apartment is convenient to everything in Paris. From great cafes and restaurants to the awesome Boulangeries, the only eating issues was deciding which one. The apartment is very comfortable and has all of the necessary amenities. We loved how nice it was decorated. The elevator was very convenient as the apartment is on the 4th floor. We would definitely stay here again. 27 June 2014 - 00:23:35

We rented this apartment for six nights in March. The apartment was clean and perfect with fresh flowers and fruit waiting when we arrived. Marsha and Pierre were gracious hosts and readily available to answer questions. The apartment is very close to the Republique metro stop so all the major Paris tourist attractions are easily accessible once you figure out the super-efficient Metro system. We did not spend too much time in the apartment since this was our first visit to Paris and we were busy sightseeing. However, the apartment was a beautifully decorated refuge to return to at the end of each exhausting day. The apartment was nicely equipped with washer/dryer, dishwasher and general cooking items. There was even a French-press coffee pot, real coffee according to Marsha and fresh milk. This was very much appreciated as we arrived exhausted with teenager in tow after a 12 hour flight. If we return to Paris we would definitely rent this apartment again and have recommended it to friends planning Paris vacations. 06 August 2014 - 03:08:06

My husband and I stayed in this apartment on the edge of the Marais in February 2015 and found it perfect for our needs. It had all the attributes one would expect in an apartment: clean, comfortable bed, nicely furnished, quite spacious. It also had a really nice kitchen, new windows that blocked out street noise, curtains that blocked the light, good lighting, a nice shower and a good heating system. We loved the location. There were two local Metro stops plus the large Place de la Republique stationwe could go anywhere, and did. The shopping street was just a couple of blocks over, and it was wonderful with many small shops as well as the famous March des Enfants Rouge. Notre Dame was an easy walk down the charming Rue Vieille du Temple. But one of the nicest things was to have the owners, Marcia and Pierre, upstairs. We rented an apartment once in Italy and the owner, our only contact, lived in California. This time when I blew a fuse (my fault), Marcia was right there to show us the fuse box. She also answered questions, printed out some tickets for us, and steered us to restaurants and sights we might not have found otherwise. It was nice not to be alone in a strange city, even for experienced travelers. 17 March 2015 - 01:39:17

My family and I stayed in this beautiful apartment during our recent trip to Paris. It is perfectly situated on the edge of the Marais and close to several Metro lines as well as wonderful bistros, bakeries, and Parisian street life. The apartment is so comfortable, clean and spacious that it is the perfect place to return to after exploring the city or curl up during a downpour and read some of the great books in the shelves. The owner is extremely thoughtful and gracious. She is very knowledgeable about the city and provided us with everything from subway maps to restaurant suggestions. The apartment is beautifully appointed and the owner's thoughtfulness is reflected in the way she has equipped the apartment with many little things that make a stay easier and more comfortable. When we arrived she had already stocked up with coffee, milk and Perrier water. There are shopping bags to use for groceries and even plug adapters and extra phone chargers! The Wifi worked well despite multiple devices being used simultaneously. There is a great washer/dryer that works wonderfully and the kitchen is fully equipped. We will be recommending this apartment to all of our friends and hope that it will be available next time we come. 01 July 2016 - 21:50:30

We rented the apartment for 2 weeks in December 2016. Yes the elevator is small but we were glad there is an elevator. Marsha gave us the keys upon arrival and we entered a gorgeous apartment. It seemed much bigger than the photos suggest. Fresh croissants, orange juice, and fresh cut flowers were waiting. Marsha outlined various restaurants, bakeries and attractions in the area. The apartment itself is very clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. It is equipped with everything you might need, from grocery cart to exercise mat. Certainly Marsha ensures her guests enjoy their stay. The location is excellent because there are 2 nearby metro stops. We also could walk to the Picasso Museum and the Pompidou. Marsha herself is a delight. Her knowledge of the area is impressive. She made us very welcome in the apartment. We would not hesitate to book the apartment again. 01 January 2017 - 01:47:36

We thank Marsha for making our stay in Paris this fall of 2017 a wonderful time. Her apartment, offered on-line by abritel, is comfortable, practical, clean and pleasant. My friend Fabio and I had a lovely 12 night stay, each of us in a double bed in the two sleeping rooms, which gave us adequate privacy. We spoke both english and french with marsha. We enjoyed the well equipped kitchen, since we had rather eat at home most of the time, fabio being a specially good cooker. We did appreciate marshas being cooperative all the time, concerning the common needs of a tourist, even though we are experienced tourists in Paris, like restaurants, cafs, grocery stores, metro stations, cabs and general information about the parisian 11me district, where we stayed, at a convenient walking distance to the charming marais district . As art and litterature lovers, we felt at home at this 60m2 apartment full of book shelves and a graphic design look. Very good reading lights and work tables. And some sunlight hitting the apartment in the rear side in the morning and in the front in the afternoon. On our arrival in Paris, we could enter the apartment early in the morning, , after our 11 hour overseas flight. On our departure, we were allowed to stay all day long and early evening, specially in my case, since my flight was in the very late evening and I left for the airport at 7.30 pm, fabio having flied out in the afternoon. Marsha was kind enough to print our boarding passes. A practical good thing is that marsha lives right above the apartment we rented. We highly recommend marshas beautiful apartment in paris! We had a lovely experience in this apartment. It is just as it looks in the photos, full of art and books, and Marsha welcomed us with many nice touches. Entirely respectful of our privacy, she was nevertheless available to answer questions or provide assistance, in English, if needed. The location of the apartment is very convenient to museums, restaurants, shopping and the metro; the view onto the boulevard very interesting day or night. My husband and I go to Paris regularly, and have some basic requirements when we rent an apartment: good kitchen, two comfortable places to sit, and strong wifi are all things we look for. This apartment met all of our requirements and more; having the second bedroom was especially helpful as we both had colds at different times and needed to sleep separately. Also, we like to cook, and the kitchen had everything we could have wanted in the way of tools and equipment. There are both dishwasher and washer/dryer in the apartment, true luxury in a Paris rental. We highly recommend this apartment. 17 October 2017 - 18:46:00

The apartment is very attractive, probably the most attractive we've found over multiple rentals, with the redesigned space providing light and functionality. We appreciated the comfort and the decor, and enjoyed exploring a new neighborhood. The owner was very available and helpful. 13 December 2017 - 18:12:00

My wife and I stayed in Marsha's apartment for a week in mid September. We walked to restaurants for dinner every night. The choices were numerous. Many sights are in walking distance and if you prefer to take the metro, there is a station one block away. Marsha is a wonderful and helpful hostess. The apartment is very comfortable and has a warm feel. I would highly recommend staying here 28 September 2017 - 22:30:00
