Caroline met us on time as promised, gave us clear directions from the airport to her place, was clear in her instructions (keys, locks, bedding, etc) and suggestions about Paris and then left us alone for the week. She left a phone number in case we needed it and we never needed it. The apartment has a back balcony which we never sat on and two nice open windows facing the street, which we looked out onto the street through many times. The street right outside our door is lively and full of sights typical of Paris. We were in the midst of it all. There are many restaurants, bakers, a cinema, clothing stores, specialty takeout spots and food stores and a great grocery store all right there. Two minutes to the south there are excellent street vendors selling a variety of foods in the early morning. Two minutes to the north there is a square full of cafes and beyond that a ten minute walk to the Seine and the St Michel St Germaine area. Luxembourg Gardens is also ten minutes away to the west. The Metro stop is also two minutes away on Rue Monge, just a great, lively and large street full of sights and action. We were in our own little neighbourhood where, even if that was all we ever saw of Paris, we would have felt that we did see Paris. My wife and I spent some evenings in the apartment, but mostly stayed out. It is not small but rather typical in size to what Paris offers for this price. Perfect for two. We were not disappointed. The fold out couch/bed was very comfortable and converts in three seconds, literally, from bed to couch or back from couch to bed. There is a nice Bose speaker system to play an iPod or phone music. The wifi always worked reliably. The TV, which we never turned on after one use, worked fine. The kitchen is very well equipped and Caroline left food for us to use and we did use some of it. Everything was clean when we arrived although the shower drain ran so slowly that I had to clean the drain to speed it up. Yuck. This apartment requires a four flight climb and there is no elevator. To us, in our sixties, this was great exercise. Others may feel it is too much. So that's a slight caveat. Otherwise I would call our Paris apartment, absolutely perfect. Yes, we would rebook this place in a heartbeat. 30 October 2016 - 17:23:00

My husband and I stayed at this beautiful studio apartment from March 25 to March 31 and had an amazing experience. Arranging everything with Caroline was easy and she helped us every step of the way - including step-by-step directions from the airport using the metro which was very helpful. Upon arrival, we were greeted at the door and were so impressed with the charm and character of not only the flat itself, but the building and street it's on. The two balconies have great views overlooking Paris and the apartment is decorated so tastefully. Although the only bed is a pull out couch, it's comfortable and worked wonderfully for us. There is also an efficient wardrobe closet, a nice bathroom, a small kitchen and washer/dryer, so this place really has everything you need - Perfect for two people! In terms of the neighborhood, we honestly felt we were in the BEST part of Paris. It was not touristy and the cobble stone streets, outdoor markets, cute shops and fantastic eateries (lots of bistros with outdoor seating) were the highlights of the area. Directly across the street is a small grocery store where we routinely bought wine, snacks and orange juice (we were amazed by the fresh orange juice machines in Paris!). At this apartment we were only a 5 to 7 minute walk from Notre Dame and the nearest metro station (Place Monge) was VERY close which was fantastic. By staying here were saw first-hand that Rue Mouffetard is one of Paris's oldest and liveliest neighborhoods. It could get a teeny bit noisy at night, but to be honest, after walking 10+ miles per day exploring Paris and drinking so much of the delicious french wine, we could have slept through anything. But if you're a light sleeper, just bring ear plugs and you will be fine. We can't say enough about the owners of this place, the apartment itself, and the area it's situated in. We can't WAIT to come back! Thank you Caroline & Romain for everything!!!! 04 April 2016 - 16:22:00

We loved the apartment. There was a great view of the street from the front windows and another view of the garden out the back door. It was charming and cozy. Perfect for the two of us. It was a wonderful place to return to in the evenings. We could pick up something for supper on our way in from the many shops that lined the street. It was a treat every night. The apartment is ideally located close to the metro as well as within walking distance to many must see places. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone who likes to walk. Thanks to Caroline for her warm hospitality! 18 December 2016 - 16:31:00

I really enjoyed my stay, Caroline is very sweet and helpful and was very nice when I rocked up an hour+ late to the apartment on the first day. Apartment is as advertised and a very nice place to come back to after a long day walking around Paris [warning: must be cool with stairs]. The street is great, short easy walk to the river, nice restaurants/bars, cafes/patisseries, a cool little record store and very very safe. Nothing bad I can say about this place, I had a lovely time. 20 January 2017 - 23:09:00

My 5th time in Paris! This time I rented for a month, a bit out of my comfort zone, but I fell in love with Rue Mouffetard! The flat is spacious with a street and garden view, loved the cooing pigeons and the nice breeze! Wood floors and beams! Kitchen is small but it has a window, everything you need to cook, which I do, and a washer/ dryer, a big plus for an extended stay! The street is noisy, however, everything you need is steps away! I love to cook and having the best of ingredients practically at my doorstep is priceless! Loved the music , just open the windows! Many restaurants and shops as well! Close to a couple of metro and RER stops! Gracious hosts ! I will rent again! 13 July 2016 - 00:02:00

Caroline's apartment is perfect. One winds down rue Mouffetard from Place Contrescarpe, a mazy street of smell and taste, up twisty staircase onto balcony overlooking garden, into the flat that looks out over the flow of humanity below. Apartment contains more than one needs-- clean, equipped kitchen to stir dinner, bathroom, shower room, solid internet, comfortable bed, bookshelf, desk, table, washing machine, closet, etc. Caroline is always available for communication. The flat contains charm. My girlfriend and I stayed here two months. We recommend this space in genuine appreciation. 30 March 2017 - 12:29:00

My wife and I stayed here on an anniversary trip and had a wonderful time. The location is great with many restaurants, bars, and even a market at our doorstep. Carolyn greeted us at the apartment as we arrived and took the time to orientate us to the apartment, the location, subway and gave us some sightseeing tips. She was truly a joy to work with. We would love to stay here again if we are able to return to Paris. 30 August 2017 - 06:00:00

We loved staying in caroline's studio apt. She was very kind and helpful..Arrived promptly for check-in and check out. The street is bustling with activity, restaurants, and bars but not too terribly noisey..be prepared for the hike up the circular stair to the 5th floor. There is a small grocery across the street which had all the basic necessities if you get tired of eating out. Really good value accomodation in Paris. 29 September 2014 - 06:19:26

This is a lovely apartment for 1-2 people in a very fun and accessible area of Paris. Host is excellent-- she was welcoming, friendly, responsive and helpful throughout my 2 week visit to Paris. Apartment highlights: - Great neighborhood-- literally everything you need is within steps of the apartment. There are bakeries, cheese shops, wine shops, chocolate shops, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, ice cream shops, crepe stands, a grocery store, clothing boutiques, a bowling alley, a movie theatre, a post office, a metro, a farmers market all within 2 blocks of this spot. Several monuments/museums are within a 15-20 minute walk or a few metro stops. - Clean and well-maintained apartment. Cute decor, thoughtfully arranged. - Beautiful view and lots of light out of the windows/door, and access to a cute balcony - Washing machine, convenient (small) kitchen - Though the bed is a sofa bed, it is actually very comfortable and supportive. There are a few "cons" to this apartment-- all mentioned by previous reviewers: - It's on the 4th floor of a walk-up building, no elevator. The staircase is winding and with a heavy suitcase, it is tricky to navigate...but as others have said, you only have to go up once and down once with the suitcase. - Being on such a busy street, the apartment can be noisy at night. I strongly recommend earplugs-- bring them with you or you can buy them at any pharmacy for a few euros. With earplugs in, I slept fine. - It's not a big space, but for one person it was perfect. For two I think it would work well too, so long as you're tidy :) A great apartment! 04 April 2015 - 08:09:25

This apartment could not be in a better location. Rue Mouffetard is in the heart of Arrondissement 5 (arguably the best area of Paris to stay). This apartment is only metres away from an array of quality restaurants, bars, bakeries, cheese shops etc etc. It feels authentic and certainly not too touristy. It's a five minute walk to a Metro Station and only 10 minutes to the RER train to take you to and from CDG Airport. The apartment is clean and well equipped with excellent free WiFi. Yes, it is 4 floors up without an elevator but this is no real issue - a good way to burn off some calories after all that excellent French cuisine. It can be a little noisy at night from the street revelers but this adds to the ambiance. The area feels VERY safe and the apartment is secure. There is little traffic noise. I couldn't recommend this apartment more highly for that quintessential Paris experience. 13 June 2015 - 05:58:40

This studio apartment is located in a lively section of the Latin Quarter, a few hundred meters from where Ernest Hemingway once lived. It is full of life and activity with numerous restaurants, boulangeries/patisseries, creperies, boutiques, bookstore, etc. all around you so there was no need to go far for anything you needed. There is also a supermarket directly across the street. I stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks and found it to be comfortable, cozy, convenient and clean. I also felt safe in the neighborhood. Caroline, the owner, was very responsive and always attentive to any questions or needs I may have had. She is lovely to deal with and I liked the fact I got my deposit back before I left after she inspected the apartment. I loved the location because I could walk everywhere to places of interest to me. Although it is a fifth floor (US standard) walk up, the spiral staircase was only an issue when I first got there with my luggage but posed no problem once I got used to it. I actually liked the extra exercise of using the stairs several times a day. The sofa bed is comfortable and the washing machine was very convenient. Bath and kitchen fixtures were modern and updated. Bring some earplugs or headphones just in case it gets too noisy. Otherwise this apartment was perfect for a solo traveler like me. 26 July 2015 - 17:25:29

Great location. The studio is exactly like advert shows, fully equipped with excellent free WiFi and nice terrace. Very good neighborhood next to many shops, restaurants and charming green market. The owner is very friendly. Despite noisy street specially at night we very enjoyed the stay in this apartment. 18 August 2015 - 07:38:51

My daughter and I stayed at this flat for 6 nights and I don't think we could have picked a better location. The area has everything you need and has so much character and charm. The flat met all of our needs, was clean and very comfortable. I loved the little terrace at the back and the large windows that opened onto the street. Caroline met us on arrival and answered any questions we had. I would recommend staying here if you want to feel like you are really living in Paris as its not very touristy. The wifi was excellent. 19 April 2016 - 18:06:51

I stayed in the apartment for 7 nights. As I was on my own it was perfect for my needs. The position is great in such a vibrant area with easy access to restaurants, bars and the Place Monge Metro. Additionally there are quality fromageries, boulangeries / patisseries, wine shops and mini marts close by plus the wonderful market at Place Monge for getting fresh food to eat in the apartment. As far as the apartment itself the sofa bed is comfortable, the shower has a good hot flow and the washing machine is easy to operate. Because rue Mouffetard can get evening noise especially on the weekend I slept with the windows closed and this cut it out to an acceptable level so it did not disrupt sleeping.. The rear terrace is lovely and peaceful overlooking a beautiful large tree. I felt very secure and only saw one other resident in the building on my whole stay. As far as the 4 flights of stairs it was a bit of a shock at first but it certainly got me fit by the end of the week. It wasn't really an issue overall. I guess the most important thing was that dealing with Caroline and Romain was so easy. On the morning that I was leaving I managed to put my luggage keys into their mailbox by mistake. I called Romain and woke him up (sorry!) to explain the situation and he was at the apartment within 35 minutes to help me out. I cannot thank him enough for this and he rescued me from what could have been a difficult situation. My deposit was in my account by the time that I got home. 08 November 2016 - 09:24:11

This studio was exactly what we were looking for! It sits in a wonderful part of the city with all the dining and nightlife you could hope for just downstairs. It's just blocks from the Metro, and an easy walk to the Jardin des Plantes and Notre Dame. Also, Caroline was super helpful with getting us everything we needed and even recommended an excellent restaurant I highly recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Paris! 29 September 2017 - 00:02:00

I stayed in this studio for a week in November, and was very happy with my stay. While the apartment itself is small, its size is perfectly adequate for one person, and would also be so for a couple. The studio is on the 4eme tage, meaning it's a walk up four flights of stairs, but that should not deter anyone who doesn't mind a little exercise. There is a small balcony that serves as the entry way into the apartment; the balcony faces the courtyard out back, which is nice and quiet. The main room of the apartment looks out over rue Mouffetard, which is a very lively street -- lots of food shops on the downhill side, while on the uphill side are many small restaurants and gift shops. There is also a Franprix directly across the street -- an upscale, small grocery store. The street does stay lively until the wee hours, but with the windows closed, the noise in the apartment is not an issue. The shower and kitchen area, while small, are perfect for the size of the apartment. Most important, Caroline and Romain were quite helpful all the way through the process of booking the apartment, preparing for arrival, meeting me on the day of arrival to show me the apartment, and then answering a couple of questions I had during my stay. I would most definitely stay here again, and hope to do so in the near future! 27 November 2017 - 14:30:00

Estuvimos 4 noches. 21 January 2018 - 19:10:00

My friend and I loved staying here, felt right in the midst of the city life. It was lovely that it was near places to eat, a supermarket (right across the street) and two metro stations. 30 January 2018 - 16:55:00

Caroline was very responsive and easy to work with throughout the process from initial booking through checkout. This was our first time in Paris and it was great, largely due to where we stayed. There is easy access to a supermarket and more traditional Parisian markets for at-home food and wine. ATMs, subway stops, and restaurants nearby (check out La Forge!) are all convenient and great. We were able to quickly get to major sights without being in a super touristy area. Please be aware that the property is located on a street with heavy foot traffic and restaurants, so could get loud during the night, but we enjoyed that as part of the overall experience! We would highly recommend Caroline and would stay here again in the future. 26 September 2016 - 14:17:00
