We (a group of 5 adults) had an excellent NY experience during easter week of 2017. The apartment totally met our expectations from the pictures and description on the website, excellent value for money. Peter, our landlord, met us upon arrival handing over keys and giving a short presentation of the flat and the neighborhood. He was most helpful on practicals and suggestion on what to do and see in the area. With 3 subway lines within walking distance the appartment is well situated for doing Brooklyn and the rest of NYC. I can higly recommend staying at Peter's. Only things to consider is if 1 Bathroom is good enough for You - with 5 people in the flat this naturally queed things up a bit in the morning :-) - and the kitchenette is fine for making breakfast/tea/coffee but not fit for advanced cooking. 20 April 2017 - 11:30:00

This apartment was much bigger than it looks on the photos, the bedrooms were a great size for a 3 bed space. Great hosts, so accommodating. It is a walk up but even with little ones it worked out fine. My daughter had a 1 & 2 year old & the hosts aloud us to take their cribs & they easily fit:) Locations is perfect with the store/cafes & restaurants on Atlantic & the Parks nearby. Definitely worth the $$ 09 October 2016 - 21:38:00

We enjoyed our stay in Brooklyn Heights--the apartment is close to everything and is on a quiet part of Hicks Street. Sally & Peter were very welcoming and despite being on the third floor this was very kid friendly and worked out well for us. The place was clean and suited our family of four (with two young kids) very well. 27 April 2011 - 18:04:43

Lovely apartment: spacious, comfortable and nice quirky touches. Peter was a great host: very welcoming and a wealth of information. Location is great: close to lots of good cafes, bars and restaurants, and easy to walk to the waterfront and Brooklyn Bridge. 30 October 2017 - 13:24:00
  7. Our stay in this apartment was really nice, it is perfectly located in Brooklyn Heights, closed to restaurants and to subway to Manhattan. The apartment is as described and the pictures acurate. Peter, the landlord has been very helpful and friendly upfront and during our stay. I would go back again. 31 May 2012 - 21:48:31

finding suitable lodging near brooklyn hghts the first week of oct. is a real challenge. this year we scored big by finding peter's apt. the apt is 3bd, 1ba ( just takes some scheduling ) a small but adequate kit. if you choose to cook. the apt felt open, light, roomy and comfortable. the location was just right for all our hghts activities. the promenade, the brklyn bridge , subways are all 10-15 min. or less. super for the even more important hghts activities. it may seem a little pricey, but share the expense with friends and you'll enjoy this nice, clean , older apt with squeeky wood floors and very hospitable hosts. thanks peter 11 October 2012 - 03:57:03

My sister and I chose this apartment primarily because of the perfect location while visiting my daughter's family, and for the rare size in New York. Our arrangements couldn't have been smoother or easier from start to finish, and the owner was so accommodating and helpful! He was very helpful, suggesting neighborhood amenities we might be interested in. The apartment and photos are exactly as listed, with the added benefit of having the bedrooms at the back, away from the street, overlooking quiet backyard gardens. The location is close to Atlantic Avenue, with its shops and restaurants, and also to the Brooklyn Heights Promendade along the East River. Ours was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and we would definitely come back another time! 02 May 2013 - 13:19:40

I installed out of town relatives into this location. They had a great time and were very central to Brooklyn Heights (where we held a wedding) and Manhattan (the 2,3,4,5,R, A, and C trains are all within max 10 minute walk). It was a great 10 day stay. The family had fun, easy access to the city plus all the shops and comforts of Brooklyn Heights. I can highly recommend this location and its owners. 13 July 2013 - 15:17:39

Three adults and two young children stayed here for five days of sightseeing in Manhattan and Brooklyn. After viewing many Manhattan properties going for 300/nt for a one bedroom or studio, the 300/nt for a three bedroom seemed too good to be true. (Brooklyn Heights is as good as staying in Manhattan, the Clark Street station is one stop from Manhattan.) The owner was friendly, helpful and accommodating of our requests (we needed to store prams and baby gear in the lobby). The apartment has three spacious bedrooms, plus an extra little room which we didn't use but could have had an air mattress for an extra bed. Everything was clean and the living room was very comfortable. The street is quiet and lovely and a short walk to the buzz of the shops, bars and restaurants of Atlantic Avenue, the iconic stroll along the promenade, excellent bagels on Montague Street, and you cant beat the sandwiches at the Brooklyn Heights deli just around the corner. Clark Street subway station a short walk away will bring you one stop to Wall Street, or another short walk you're at Borough Hall with options of 2,3,4,5-- basically you can choose to travel up east or west side of Manhattan. The newly developed piers along Brooklyn waterfront include wonderful mega-playgrounds for kids (pier 6) and at pier one you can hop on a water taxi to Manhattan. OR make your commute a real adventure and walk over the Brooklyn Bridge. Brooklyn itself is such an interesting excellent destination you could spend happy weeks there and never even venture into Manhattan! A spacious clean safe three bedroom apartment in a beautiful neighborhood a short commute to all of NYC great attractions...sounded too good to be true but it WAS true. Loved our stay and felt so lucky to have found this place. The only thing I would mention is this apartment is the third floor of the owners' home and there is a spiral staircase gated off which leads down into owners' home. We were unaware of their presence and it did not affect our stay at all, but if you require a sesnse of absolute privacy you may want to consider this. 26 September 2013 - 22:20:31

There were 4 girls that came in for the NYC marathon. I had always stayed in Manhattan but so glad we found this adorable apartment in Brooklyn. I will probably never stay in manhattan again. The apartment looks just like the pictures. We loved everything about it. Each girl had their own bedroom which was perfect. We had plenty of room and were comfortable. We loved having the kitchen and all its amenities. Everything you need is a short walk from the apt. Awesome restaurants and bagel shops around the corner. Make sure you walk to the harbor and take advantage of the beautiful view of the manhattan skyline. Didn't make it over there until the day we were leaving so hate that we missed it at night. I'm sure it was breathtaking. Peter was so friendly and helpful. He was there if we needed him but otherwise he did not bother us. I arrived sick and Peter spent a lot of time trying to find an after hours clinic and trying to get me an appointment with his own personal doctors. I will definitely stay in this apartment again. Love the location. Walk around and take advantage of everything Brooklyn heights has to offer. You won't be sorry 08 November 2013 - 16:36:01

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful Brooklyn Heights apartment. We loved coming back after very long days of sightseeing in Manhattan. Thank you Peter for being such a gracious host!! 16 November 2013 - 14:21:08

I stayed here with my brother and close friend for our first trip to New York. We found the apartment to be just what we needed. Clean and with its own charm and personality. We were very comfortable and felt very at ease. We didn't eat in, preferring instead to eat at one the many and good nearby cafe's and restaurants. The apartment is very well located. Hicks Street itself is quiet and lovely neighbourhood to wonder around. Various subway lines are within a few minutes walk, making it easy to travel to most areas of Manhattan, even if this is just for an evening The host was very friendly. Booking was hassle free. You are left very much to your own devices but is comforting to know that he is close at hand if needed. 07 March 2016 - 14:29:03

When my friends and I arrived the unit wasn't quite ready so Peter invited us into his home for a beer and some stories of the neighborhood. It was fascinating to hear the history. Before we could finish the beer, the unit was ready. It was just what we needed. The rooms were very comfortable and had that historic charm to them. But we didn't stay there too long because there was so much to see, eat and drink. The unit is blocks away from the East River as well as the Brooklyn Heights Promenades, both absolutely stunning. To tell you how conveniently located the unit is, on our first full day, we walked to lower Manhattan, toured the Statue of Liberty, visited the 911 Memorial, saw the sunset from the top of the One World Center, had beer in quart styrofoam cups from the self proclaimed last dive bar in Manhattan, and walked back over the Brooklyn Bridge to get home. A lot of walking, but it shows you the convenience of this unit's location. On our next day, we walked around Brooklyn sampling the various bars and restaurants (though we that would take a year to do it justice as there were bars and restaurants everywhere!). So whether you want to tour Manhattan or enjoy the tastes of Brooklyn, this unit is ideal. Very highly recommended!! 24 November 2016 - 13:15:02

Peter was very welcoming and accommodating. Knowing he lives at the property gave me peace of mind. It is lovely space and comfortable beds. The location could not be better, so accessible to the best of Brooklyn and Manhattan too. Much more peaceful than my stays in Manhattan. Overall a delightful experience!! 13 November 2017 - 15:47:00

12 November 2017 - 19:23:00
