This was a very lucky choice for us. We needed somewhere near to our son's home and this was the closest. It turned out to be a very comfortable and convenient place. The rental was very well appointed and cared for. All the appliances and fittings looked new. Obviously the owners had thought hard about what travelers need when away from home. Everything we needed was there. We had no car but public transport was readily available a short walk away. We were able to reach the business sections and the wharf areas of San Francisco easily enough. Shops were on 24th Street. Whole Foods supplied most cooking needs. Restaurants of many descriptions, a post office, book shops, and specialty shops line both sides of 24th. There is a good breakfast and lunch cafe just over 100 yards away on the corner of 24th. As well as an Italian provision store (worth a visit) and an Italian Restaurant. The owners live next door and are warm and friendly people. I would recommend this rental to anyone. We had a maximum of five people in the apartment which it accommodated well. The inflatable sofa/bed in the living room worked very well as a temporary bed for about a week. 04 January 2011 - 21:00:39

We thoroughly enjoyed our two week stay in San Francisco and the apartment played a major role in that. The listing and photos provide a true sense of the apartment. The owners have have thought of everything most travelers would need in a long or short term stay. The property is very well appointed and maintained, making our stay most comfortable. The kitchen was exceptional in relation to our experiences in other rentals. The owners were very responsive when there was a problem with wi-fi and had the issue quickly resolved, even though they were out of town. Noe is a true neighborhood with convenient access to a range of shops, a wide variety of restaurants, and public transportation, all within walking distance of the apartment. We would recommend this property to friends and relatives without reservation. 13 April 2011 - 00:55:52

We (3 adults and a toddler) were extremely comfortable in this flat. It is very clean and comfortable and had all the amenities we needed including a great washer/dryer and a very well equiped kitchen. There is also a very nice deck with lots of plants. We would certainly rent this flat again. 13 August 2011 - 03:35:36

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) stayed for a week in this flat. It was great. The location was very good, close to public transportation, shops and parks. The flat was very clean, fully equipped and quiet. We would certainly stay here again. Our deposit was also returned very promptly! 22 August 2011 - 06:19:18

The apartment was well maintained, pretty, and everything the owner said it would be, well kept, clean, and everything worked, including the heat (important). We loved having breakfast on the back patio. The owner was helpful and very professional. The location is great, very close to some great restaurants and shops, but quiet. A family area, not touristy. Parking was a bit of a hassle and the nearest BART station wasn't close, but there is a good bus that goes down nearby 24th Street, and we managed. We will definitely go back again. 29 September 2011 - 22:06:12
  6. Our family (2 adults and 2 toddlers) stayed for a week and had a great time exploring the neighborhood, visiting the playground up the hill, walking up and down 24th street, and hanging out inside on the one rainy day we had. The pictures are accurate, the condo was very clean, nicely decorated, the beds were amazingly comfortable and when we all came down with colds/bronchitis, it was invaluable to have a home that felt like home. Baby proofing around the wall unit heaters was interesting but do-able. We traveled with our own outlet covers which came in very handy. There was a high chair and baby gate that came in handy--as well as the umbrella--that was a life saver! The market (Whole Foods) is an easy walk, as is Walgreens and a bunch of restaurants, cafes and cute shops with friendly owners. And when we needed our stroller fixed, the bike shop on the corner did it for free. The Bart station is a hike if you're walking (and I wouldn't recommend walking back from it unless you like to mountain climb) but the bus was regular and really easy to navigate. Can't speak for the nightlife, but the neighborhood in general was quiet, safe, and really enjoyable. Upstairs neighbors were a bit noisy during "baby/kid" bedtime hours (maybe they were working out? doing jumping jacks? we weren't sure but it didn't last too long) and they were perfectly quiet after 9pm every night. We would definitely stay here again. 11 May 2012 - 13:39:14

Our family (2 adults and 2 kids-age 4,7) had a great stay in Noe Valley. We were in town for my brother's wedding and had a great time in San Fran, seeing it for the first time as a Noe Valley resident. The apartment was conveniently located by all the conveniences of the neighborhood. Whole Foods, local video store, dry cleaners, Italian market ... And great family friendly restaurants. 7 day stay was great in the apartment, beats a hotel, with well equipped kitchen and washer dryer. We were worried about parking, but seemed to time it nicely with street maintenance ocurring that week. So no complaints. We had a wonderful time and would stay there again in a hearbeat. Thanks for the hospitality. Apartment is extremely clean and well maintained. The apartment is well thought out in terms of basic necessities. If I had to pick one thing to 'improve' it would be the bathroom. Kitchen is modern and updated. Bathroom is not renovated and a little small. It was certainly fine for us... but didn't match the feel of the rest of the place. I still give it 5 stars though! 16 October 2012 - 01:55:21

My wife and I stayed at the Noe Valley Flat on our vacation in April and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well mainatined. The location is convenient to downtown San Francisco - about 20 minutes if you use the Muni. We were concerned about parking, but managed to find a spot right out in front (do be careful as there is restricted street parking on specified days for street sweeping, and we did see cars get tickets). Noe Valley is like its own little town convenient to restaurants, shops and grocery stores; you wouldnt need to leave if you didnt want to. My wife and I walked the neighborhood each morning enjoying the historic architecture and browsing the local shops (check out Chocolate Covered for unique souvenirs). We were able to access public transportation to downtown easily and only used our car once. (the 48 bus runs down 24th Street; you can catch the J Line at Church Street.) Its much cheaper than paying for parking in the city, and you can always catch a cab if needed. The apartment itself felt like being at home. The living room was comfortable and spacious, and theres a DVD to watch movies if you want. The bedrooms offered lots of space, and the beds were extremely comfortable. There is a big kitchen with all appliances and amenities, and we were able to enjoy our coffee and breakfast outside on the patio area each morning (check out the Holey Bagel on 24th Street) . One night, we were too tired to go out, so we grabbed some take-out from Pasta Gina across the street it was excellent! They make their pasta fresh and everything was delicious (be sure to try their canolis). There are also many fantastic restaurants nearby that we did not get to try, such as Firefly and Ristorante Bacco which were highly recommended. One last piece of advice: make your way up Twin Peaks Blvd to Christmas Tree Point - this has to be one of best views of the city. Lastly, the owners were very helpful and accessible throughout the whole experience. We simply loved our stay in Noe Valley and will definitely be back! 24 April 2013 - 05:46:32

Noe Valley is great neighborhood. It's quiet, close to shops and restaurants, close to transportation and parking is relatively easy. This apartment is vintage. It is not modern and has not been rehabbed. The description oversells the kitchen a bit. It is stocked at a minimum and some of the appliances seem to have lived another life elsewhere before ending up here. Due to an open under-counter compost bin, there were several fruit flies in the kitchen that were there for the duration of our stay. Not one to complain, I washed the bin and went on with our vacation despite this unpleasant detail. Almost a month after our stay, the owner charged us $25 (deducted from our deposit) and blamed the flies on us. When I told her they were there when we arrived she said I should have told her earlier. So, if you stay here, be sure to note every problem on arrival and inform the owner lest you get charged for it. Also, the bathroom is still very small even by vintage victorian standards. Despite these problems, our family had a nice stay - It's San Francisco after all. 10 September 2013 - 20:12:39

We stayed at this place for three nights. The owners are very responsive and the place is lovely. It is very clean and neat, very comfortable! We really enjoyed our stay here! My three year old daughter loved the children books at the living room. My husband and I were very happy to find this place. We definitely will stay again! Thank you, Louise! 01 November 2013 - 19:09:40

My husband and I come to San Francisco regularly as we have a daughter and grandchildren here. It is important for us to stay in Noe Valley which is where they live. We are very pleased to have found this very comfortable apartment. We come twice a year for a period of a month or longer. The apartment meets all our needs and expectations. It is spacious, very clean, comfortable and has a fully equipped large kitchen with a garden patio. Large washing machine and dryer are available. We very much appreciate the children's toy's, books, high chair and stroller that are supplied by the owners. The beds are very comfortable with good linen. The apartment is situated close to 24th Street with all the shops and there are many restaurants within walking distance. Bus stops are also near by. We certainly hope to return later in the year. We highly recommend this apartment. 06 June 2014 - 04:06:51

Thank you Louise for hosting us in your cozy, comfortable home. We enjoyed our city get-away in Noe Valley, close to good restaurants and markets. The well-equipped kitchen, with modern appliances, encouraged us to eat in. The parking was better than anticipated. Only on one night did we look for about 5 minutes for a spot which opened up as we circled the house. It was quite easy making the reservation, even though we were renting on the spur of the moment. Thanks for your thoughtful and kind assistance. We're looking forward to our next stay with you. 06 June 2014 - 23:44:44

My husband and I along with another couple spent a week here and it was perfect! The apartment was the larger than expected and exceeded our expectations. The bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. The apartment had plenty of extra towels and toiletries. Everything was clean when we arrived. The owner was pleasant and made staying there stress-free. We rented a car and did not have any issues with parking. The apartment is located in a nice neighborhood very close to shops, restaurants and cafes. We loved the Diamond Cafe at the corner for morning coffee and lattes. We are in our late 20s/early 30s and all felt that this neighborhood was a good choice for us. Easy to get around to other tourist attractions and had plenty of amenities locally. I would definitely recommend this rental! 20 November 2014 - 22:27:43

I found this apartment for my son and family, to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We stayed a short distance away and had a lovely family gathering in the back patio and living area. Everything was just perfect and just as described. Louise couldn't have been more helpful, her place was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, with a large kitchen area. A truly lovely place to stay to visit beautiful San Francisco! 17 July 2015 - 14:03:38

The location for this great flat is superb - 1 1/2 blocks from W. 24th Street shopping, restaurants, Whole Foods, liquor store, etc. We came to visit with our daughter and son-in-law who live near the Noe Valley area so it was quite convenient. Very clean, appliances all up-to-date and in good working order, attractive furnishings, adorable outdoor space. The kitchen/dining area is very large. Louise communicated with us promptly before our arrival. We had a fantastic time, and will definitely stay here again. 22 September 2015 - 20:33:46

We had a fantastic time in SF here, Louise was an incredibly helpful and accommodating host. The house was very comfortable for the 5 of us, and the neighbourhood was the ideal base, great atmosphere and shopping. If we're lucky enough to come back to San Fran one day we'd love to stay here again! 19 January 2016 - 00:07:59

Excellent 2-bedroom apartment provides space for relaxing as well as a large kitchen for meals. Great appliances, including washer and dryer, plates and cutlery, and adequate cooking pans, bowls and utensils. Fold-out couch in the living room is not particularly comfortable, but that's to be expected. Spotlessly clean. It would have been nice to have some information on the close-by bus routes and BART, plus information on how to purchase tickets and passes. Once we figured that out, we found that the site is very well located to be able to get to anywhere you want to go. 16 October 2016 - 17:44:16

After usually finding a hotel in Union Square or downtown, we decided to stay a little further out this time and were so glad we did. Noe Valley has many nice homes in a comfortable and convenient neighborhood, with easy access to shops, public transportation and highways. Just far enough from downtown to avoid much of the traffic, yet easy to get around, including a straight shot to Marin and points north from Castro/ Divisadero. The apartment is charming and has lots of character. It is spacious and nicely furnished. Beautiful wood floors, full sized appliances (including dishwasher, washer and dryer) and a nice garden and deck with table and chairs, trees in blossom and Twin Peaks in the distance beyond the neighboring foliage. What a great place to sit out. Our Bed was comfortable, the apartment was quiet, problems with heat. Lots of shops, stores, restaurants are just a few blocks away on 24th Street, with many good choices. We often came in at night, parked our car and walked down to a restaurant of choice right in the neighborhood. We enjoyed working with Louise and communication/booking couldn't have been easier. This is a real home away from home and was one of the best places we've stayed in the San Francisco area. We would heartily recommend this property and would stay here again. 09 March 2017 - 03:21:00

From my first dealing with Louise, I was left with the feeling that she felt she was "Doing me a favor" by renting to me. When we got to the location, we were treated to a fairly simple 2 bedroom unit. The furnishings were definitely not as high end as implied in the listing (especially the bed in the front room). The location itself is located right off 3 major bus lines, so it definitely worked to our benefit. When we mentioned that we might have a guest stay the night vs. driving home one of the nights and asked about parking, not only were we told there would be an additional charge for her to sleep on the couch, but that there was no where for her to park. Louise was going out of town (which would have left the driveway open) but instead of allowing us to use the driveway, she moved her 2nd car from the street to the driveway to block us from using it. In the same conversation though, she had the nerve to ask us to do her a favor with receiving a package. The owners were only home 1/2 of the time, but the time they were home they are up late and are extremely noisy. The garage door is loud enough to wake us up and they walk like elephants and speak very loudly. We heard most of their evening conversations. It was bad enough that we through shoes against the ceiling one of the nights. Found it interesting that they have a guest book for people to sign in, yet specific pages have been ripped out.... We're those the negative reviews? If you're looking for location, this is the place. If you're looking for quality, this leaves a lot to be desired. Definitely not up to the standards I've become accustomed to on VRBO. 23 April 2014 - 16:09:41
