A charming and elegant 2 bedroom apartment conveniently situated steps away from world famous Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and all the Sloane Street and Brompton Road shops. Thirty year London home of Hollywood composer. Perfect for one or two couples exploring London, and overlooking Basil Street with a perfect mixture of comfort and elegance. The flat is located on the first floor of Lincoln House (in the UK this is one floor up) and is accessible via steps or elevator. The closest tube stop is Knightsbridge, and the flat is located midway between the Sloane Street entrance and the Harrods entrance. Kings Road is a ten minute walk at the end of Sloane Street. The building has two porters which are available to assist with deliveries. Bookings may begin on the afternoon of the departure date of a previous guest. However, if you have bags, you are welcome to drop them off earlier while the flat is being cleaned. Not suitable for very young children. The flat has a local phone, and also a US based phone with a New York (631) telephone number which can be used for unlimited free calls to and from the US. Access from Heathrow Airport couldn't be easier; take the tube directly to Knightsbridge on the Piccadilly Line, with no changes required. Takes about forty minutes. From Gatwick, the Gatwick Express leaves every fifteen minutes and is a short train ride to Victoria Station, which is fifteen minutes away by cab - Bonnie Cacavas. 1. My husband and I spent two weeks in this beautiful flat... our third visit! It has every comfort and the luxury of spaciousness; and the location! A stroll to the park, marvellous shopping precincts, buses and underground. We appreciate the ease of communication with the owner and the friendly attention of the House Manager. We have recommended it to friends and are already discussing the possibility of a return visit. 28 April 2014 - 22:44:16

I spent 3 wonderful weeks in this flat this summer and do so wish I could have spent the whole summer here! The location is superb - 3 min. to Harrods - and the flat is beautifully furnished in old world elegance. As well, it is very spacious and has all the amenities, including a very helpful porter. Bonnie (owner) was great to deal with - I hope to return soon. 07 August 2014 - 20:39:07

Myself, my Wife & Teenage daughter stayed in Bonnie's flat for 1 week in late June 2014. This is a really nice flat with an excellent location - just 50 metres down the road to Harrods. Flat has 2 bedrooms which are quite roomy, 2 bathrooms, washing machine, kitchen & large sitting/lounge room. Access to the Tube is within 100 metres & you can get groceries from Marks & Spencer & Sainsbury's all within 5 - 10 minutes walk. A very clean & spacious flat with a friendly doorman Matt & only up 1 flight of stairs. 10 Minutes walk to Hyde park & if you want to try out 1 of Heston Blumenthal's restaurants - His "Dinner" Restaurant is in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel which is only 5 minutes walk (just get an extension on your credit card before you go). Knightsbridge is a very trendy area & teeming with different nationalities. You will also see a wide range of upper class vehicles from Rollers to Ferraris to McLarens to Bugattis in the local area as well as all the top line shops - Prada, Burberry, etc. etc. I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to anyone visiting London & will surely stay there next time we go. 07 September 2014 - 03:44:22

A gem of a find in the heart of London! Myself, Mom, nephew and niece enjoyed our weeks stay in this lovely, spacious and cozy flat. It has all the comforts of home and is well-maintained and beautifully furnished. The convenience of WiFi and phone for local and long distance calling was great. Last but not least, I appreciated the ease of communication with Bonnie, the owner of the flat. She was extremely accommodating, and quick to respond with emails and calls. The flat is conveniently located within walking distance to Knightsbridge Underground Station, Harrods, food markets, Hyde Park, designer stores, key museums, etc. I highly recommend this flat to anyone visiting London and hope to stay here again on a return visit. Thanks so much Bonnie! 25 October 2014 - 00:05:49

We are just back from this lovely flat. We were two couples and found the living space especially nice to plot our next days plans. We were happy with the two bedrooms and baths. We bought prepared foods several evenings, and really enjoyed eating in. Liked Le Metro as a restaurant and also Cafe Rouge, both nearby, and very easy and good. London was a little hotter than we planned and with the open windows there was some street noise, but it became much quieter after 10PM and we slept well. Would highly recommend this flat to anyone and would love to go back. There is an elevator and Matt was so helpful when we arrived. Do walk around the neighborhood and look at the fantastic cars, they were unbelievable. Thanks so much to Bonnie for ease of reservation and sending such wonderful information about the area and apartment. 03 November 2014 - 16:48:40

My husband and I just returned after staying at this London flat for the past week. The flat was amazing; centrally located in the heart of London, mere steps from the tube and absolutely perfect. The accomodations were lovely. Plenty of room, every amenity possible (washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc) and very comfortable. We came to spend a week to visit all the museums we rushed through the last two times we were in London. A 10 minute walk, and were at the V & A, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum. A few tube stops away, we were at the National Gallery, the Portrait Gallery, the British Museum, the Wallace Collection, the Cortauld Gallery and the Tate Britain. In the evening, we were just a few tube stops from Covent Garden and all the wonderful musicals. Not only was the flat beautifully decorated, the floor plan would be great for a family with young children or teenagers or two couples with its two bedrooms and two bathrooms. And the bathrooms are totally modern with wonderful "hot" water and terrific water pressure (which is not the case in a lot of places). It was fabulous to have the use of the kitchen to stay in or to enjoy all the restaurants that are close. Love the freezer that made superlative ice cubes for beverages after a day of sights. A lovely "gem" and we hope to stay at the flat when we come back to London next time. There are not enough superlatives to describe this extraordinary flat. Bonnie, the owner, is delightful to correspond with and definitely wants her guests to enjoy her London home. She has this amazing informational packet that is so helpful. As other guests mentioned, Harrod's is nearby and just walking the food halls is a must attraction with its delicious food and tantalizing sights. Plus, where in the world would you get to see a gold plated Ferrari and a crystal encrusted Mercedes parked outside Harrod's if you weren't staying down the street....? We had spectacular weather with minimal cold and no rain in March. The flat was a bit "warm" but cooled with open windows. You could fall asleep quickly and be totally refreshed for another day of fun in London~Frankly, there is no other place to stay in London except this phenomenal property on Basil Street! 13 March 2015 - 01:34:02

My wife and I (plus a college friend of hers) just returned from a week at this property, it was a truly memorable experience. The location was ideal and the flat was beautifully decorated. It is steps from the Kinghtsbridge underground and provided easy access to everything in the city. We especially likes the close access to Harrod's (one block) for nights when we wanted to eat in after a long day of sightseeing. It is a very comfortable flat and we really enjoyed our stay - we'd highly recommend it! 08 May 2015 - 21:39:16

This was the third time we stayed in this wonderful apartment - it is in the best location - so close to everything. We can thoroughly recommend staying here - it is a home away from home. Bonnie is a delight to correspond with, very quick to respond to any matter. The apartment is very clean and spacious with a lovely homely feel. 06 June 2015 - 11:56:12

Had a very enjoyable 7 day stay. Perfect place for two couples such as our group. The flat made you really feel like you were immersed in a British experience. Good tube location. We purchased 7 day rail travel cards which served us well. London is so spread out that I don't know what an ideal location would be. We were very satisfied with the location of the apartment. Close to some major museums, parks and of course Harrods. Everything at the flat was as depicted in the photos and accompanying description. I did not correspond with the owner as our traveling companions made the arrangements. They said they found the owner to be very accommodating and helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this property for 2 couples or parents with older well behaved children. 08 June 2015 - 19:29:15

We spent 7 days in London and this was the perfect flat and location for 2 couples. The flat is exactly what the pictures show and there are no surprises. Very comfortable and would definitely stay here on another London visit. Easy access to all the sites either walking, taking the tube or catching one of the cabs that are always coming by, you do not wait very long. The area has great restaurants no matter your preference or taste. This is a hidden gem in a very busy city and dealing with Bonnie is a real joy. 22 August 2015 - 12:35:28

Our family of four (two teenage boys) loved our stay. The location is great, 1/2 block to Knightsbridge tube station made the trip from Heathrow easy and cheap. Plenty of good restaurants in the area as well as food stores and of course Harrod's food court is right down the street. Kitchen was well stocked and washing machine was great to have as we pack light. Evenings in the front rooms can get a bit noisy when the supercars start revving their engines but our teen boys loved them. Bonnie was easy to deal with and everything was as presented. Highly recommend this apartment. 12 December 2015 - 16:04:45

It was a delight to return to this beautiful accommodation and receive that welcoming call from Bonnie. We love the location: we would stroll to Hyde Park for a coffee and watch the horseguards in the exercise ring, or walk in the evening to the Royal Albert Hall for a concert. We would take bus or tube to Oxford Street, Covent Garden or Portobello Road, Kew Gardens or Richmond. Nights at home were a pleasure and we enjoyed takeout from the local Ottolenghi deli as well as supplies from Harrod's and the nearby supermarkets...Sainsbury's, Marks and Spenser's and Waitrose. The apartment is spacious and comfortable, bathrooms are lovely, and we appreciate the provision of pantry staples. It's easy to communicate with Bonnie if you have any questions. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in London! 28 March 2016 - 03:04:18

This flat is just perfect for a group of 4 travelers to London. So close to Harrods, the tube, buses, restaurants. It was so nice to have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen where we could prepare some of our own meals. There is a very good Italian restaurant right across the street: Sale e Pepe for a quick bite or a formal meal. Bonnie was very responsive before we left and also while we were there when the internet went down. For the most part it is a very quiet flat, but can be more noisy when the upstairs neighbors are home, so be prepared to hear upstairs footsteps, etc. All in all, highly recommend the flat. We primarily went to London at this time of year for the Chelsea Flower Show which was amazing! Also enjoyed the London SkyGarden (make a reservation), the Victoria and Albert Museum, and seeing Book of Mormon! We'll be back!! 08 June 2016 - 21:48:28

My Son and I just returned from a week in London and were very happy with the flat. The location is absolutely perfect and very convenient to several of my favorite restaurants. Clean, safe location. Also, very nice to be able to come back to a spacious flat and put our feet up before dinner. I would definitely stay there again. 27 February 2015 - 18:30:13

This London flat is nothing short of impeccable. Anyone searching for a flat would be doing themselves and injustice by staying anywhere else. You are one-half block from Harrod's and the Knightsbridge Tube entrance. This was my second visit to London. Everyone is concerned about safety. This flat is located in a very safe neighborhood. In communicating with Bonnie about the arrangements and reviewing all the paperwork provided, everything is specified exactly you may expect. She has gone above and beyond what is required to ensure you not only have the basic information of the flat, but has taken the time to provide her newly extended family (YOU, the renter) with lengthy detail of all the amenities and the inner workings of the place. The big plus is the extra information on the surrounding restaurants, shopping, businesses, how to find things, and the area in general. One reviewer stated the pictures do not do this flat justice. You, have to see it to believe it. In an area of London where flat owners charge you an arm and a leg for each night, Bonnie's focus is on the visitor to offer an extremely reasonable charge for staying here. Really, this isn't a flat; it is a home. Bonnie and her family bend over backwards to make sure your temporary residence is the proper foundation upon which you can enjoy that trip of a lifetime. Bob is the onsite building manager and is available every single day. He would be outside every morning to greet you and always offered to assist you with any information, directions, or tips. I kindly refer to Bob as 'The King of Basil Street' there at Lincoln House. Considering this home, I would recommend it to anyone making their first or subsequent venture to London. It is spotless, clean, well-maintained, amenities to cover your every need, and a touch of class. Everyone offering any place to stay anywhere available on Home Away needs to follow Bonnie's lead. I am so very thankful for the opportunity to have had the privilege to find Bonnie and her Lincoln House home. On my next trip to London, I know where I will be staying! Contacting Bonnie will be the best thing you can do to start your London trip off on a high note. I'm limited to five stars for this review. If possible, I would give it ten stars. I thank you for the opportunity of your time in reading my review. Dr. Patrick M. Murphy, Doylestown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA 17 October 2017 - 11:54:00

The flat is in short walking distance from Hyde Park, great shopping (Harrahs and Harvey Nichols) and many very good restaurants. The flat is clean, well maintained and has a very good floor plan. Bonnie, the owner, is a joy to deal with and is committed to making your stay a pleasant one. I would definitely recommend the flat to my friends and also would not hesitate to rent it again on my next stay in London. 13 October 2017 - 16:50:00

I just spent two weeks in Bonnie's flat. While the photos are accurate, they fail to do justice to the proportions of the rooms--the living room and bedrooms are high-ceilinged and, thus, the windows, which are nearly floor to ceiling, are enormous. As a result, the rooms are filled with light. When you return to the flat after a day out, make yourself a cup of tea and enjoy the beautiful living room. And while you're at it, have a look at John Cacavas's memoirs (there is a copy amongst the varied selection of books in the flat), he and Bonnie had properly glamorous careers composing music for film and television--I enjoyed reading it. I would happily return to this flat. As other reviewers have mentioned, Bonnie is very organized so making arrangements for staying there are easy; the flat is ideally located for using public transportation; and the flat is attractive and comfortable. I will certainly be booking another stay here. 07 May 2017 - 18:55:00

We spent a week in Bonnie's apartment and loved the convenience to shopping, dining, the Tube, and buses. My 2 teenage children enjoyed exploring the neighborhood on their own. It felt safe with activity even later into the evening. The accommodations were exactly as described. The rooms are large and well-furnished. The only draw back is there is no large table for dining. We made dinner several nights as we were too tired to go out. The apt is well-stocked with all the essential cookingware. Bonnie was pleasant and prompt in responding to questions. The directions were clear and we got right to the apt after a long flight. We would highly recommend this apartment. 27 November 2016 - 17:50:26

We just used this flat for the second time with some friends. Both couples enjoyed having the two bathrooms and spacious bedrooms. Improvements since the last time included a new washer-dryer in the kitchen that worked wonderfully and improvements to the master bath. Love the location, ease of finding restaurants, grocery stores, and all the wonders of London. The decorated Christmas windows in all the department stores were revealed before we left on Nov. 9 and that was a special treat. We always enjoy The Metro restaurant just down the street and like Sale e Pepe across the street also. Good pubs nearby and of course, Harrods with all its wonderful shopping. Thanks to Bonnie for all the good information before the trip and help with small problems while we were there. All details were clearly explained and taken care of well before the trip. Would love to go back! 12 November 2016 - 14:44:01
